Dar Seven, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"Bless the day Princess Letizia Ruspoli opened her Marrakech retreat to paying guests. She fell under the city’s spell several years back, and after chancing upon an old house close to the Sidi Benslimane mosque, gave top Marrakchi designer Gérome Vermelin free rein to renovate and decorate. His soothing choice of colours, textures and furnishings provides a perfect counterbalance to the sensual onslaught of the surrounding medina. Staying here you feel like a privileged guest of the Ruspoli family, even though they’re more likely to be in Rome or at their Chianti wine estate. The coolly elegant ground-floor reception rooms and high-ceilinged bedrooms turn around an inner covered patio. All are exquisite. Vermelin made inspired use of striped walls in subtle shades of cream and beige as the backdrop for oriental prints, intricately carved desks, tables, mirrors and lanterns. Dar Seven numbers amongst the most photographed retreats in Marrakech and a stay here will be a treat you’ll neither forget nor regret. Highs Bedrooms don’t come much better. Their subtle, finely orchestrated decoration is conducive to instant relaxation - and there are only fiveDar Seven has the feel of an elegant home and is the antithesis to the off-the-peg, chain hotelThe roof terrace is a memorable spot for an early breakfast, sundowner, romantic supper or glass of mint tea Staff always seem to be around when you need them yet make themselves scarce when you don’t; a reflection of Moroccan sensitivity and hospitality Lows Rooms have a high price tag, even for oh-so-hip Marrakech, although you do get lots of welcoming in-room touchesOnly the White room has a wooden door to the bathroom, the others have a curtainYour arrival is by way of a series of dark and narrow alleyways. But this area is perfectly safe, and once you enter you leave the outside world behind" - Guy Hunter Watts

"The house was purchased by an aristocratic Italian family who refashioned the place to their own personal taste. Don’t let the name mislead you: the hotel has just five guest rooms, meaning that the entire place is regularly booked out by families and small groups." - Tablet Hotels

My stay at Dar Seven for my birthday getaway was honestly a dream from the very first moment. As soon as I stepped into the riad, it felt like I’d slipped into my own private world; calm, intimate, and unbelievably quiet. It’s so peaceful it almost feels like it’s set in its own secluded landscape. No noise, no chaos… just pure tranquillity.||I stayed in The White Room, which was the perfect sanctuary. Elegant, bright, and soothing; the kind of space that instantly resets your mind. And the personalised amenities were such a thoughtful touch. It made me feel truly celebrated and cared for, adding an extra layer of magic to my birthday stay.|The housekeeping team was exceptional. My room was kept immaculate every single day; fresh, pristine, perfectly arranged and that consistency made my stay feel effortlessly luxurious.||And then there’s Ilias. The heart and soul of the experience. His hospitality was on another level; warm, intuitive, and so genuine. He secured the best five-star restaurant reservations, guided us to incredible Marrakech experiences, and organised beautiful surprises that made me feel beyond appreciated. His entire team mirrored that same graciousness and care.|When it comes to value for money, Dar Seven goes above and beyond. You receive luxury, serenity, heartfelt service, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.||Would I return?|YES. YES. AND ABSOLUTELY YESSSS!|Already dreaming about my next visit.

Here’s a polished review you can use:||⸻||Review:||I had a wonderful experience at this Moroccan riad. The staff struck the perfect balance—attentive and helpful without ever being intrusive. Every interaction felt warm and genuine. The food was absolutely outstanding, full of rich flavors and beautifully presented; it was easily some of the best I’ve had in Morocco.||The riad itself offered a peaceful escape, set just far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel serene and relaxing, yet still close enough to the medina to soak up its energy whenever you wanted. It was the ideal blend of calm retreat and vibrant cultural access. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, great food, and an authentic Moroccan atmosphere.

Dar Seven was the perfect place for our family of four. Ilias and the team took great care of us. Breakfast each morning was delightful, and we received the best restaurant recommendations. The team always offered to escort us to the hard to find locations, and provided excellent service and hospitality. They even helped us with a load of laundry on our 4th day. The Riad is stunning, spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the location is quiet and safe. We will recommend Dar Seven to our friends, and are considering bringing our entire family back to rent out the entire property.

We booked the Loggia Suite with the in-room bath, which was a key reason for our reservation. Unfortunately, the hot water in our room did not work that evening, making the bath completely unusable. To their credit, the on-site staff were courteous and made efforts to troubleshoot the issue for over 30 minutes. Late in the evening, we requested access to another room so we could shower, which they accommodated via a shower on the rooftop. After the stay, management acknowledged that a boiler malfunction caused the issue and offered a future stay incentive. Equipment issues can happen, but ensuring that paid accommodations and advertised amenities are functional is the responsibility of the property. Paying full price for a room when its defining feature is unusable does not align with standard hospitality practices. While the staff on site were kind, the way the situation was ultimately handled by management was disappointing. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this property.

Dar Seven is an absolute gem in Marrakech! The hotel is cute, cozy, and full of charm — the perfect peaceful retreat after exploring the city. What truly made our stay special were Iliass and Ahmed. They made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. Iliass was especially amazing — he went above and beyond to help us get around the city, gave great recommendations, and was always there when we needed anything. Their hospitality was incredible, and we’re so grateful for their warmth and kindness. Highly recommend Dar Seven for anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming Marrakech experience!

This is a lovely small inn. The service was impeccable and the staff was awesome. They attended to every detail and request. The rooms were perfectly designed and the breakfast was delicious. |It is a calm oasis in the Medina. The colors are neutral and soft. The decor is authentic. |Don’t let the dark passageway to the front door scare you. Once inside it a heavenly experience!

Excellent service. Includes a very good breakfast. The Guest room was spacious with a comfortable bed. It is on the level with the lounge, so noise from early risers is worth considering. The Brown room was very charming and they kindly turned two beds into one. It is on the upper level and very quiet. Cookies and tea on arrival was a very nice touch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dar Seven. The property is absolutely beautiful and located conveniently in the Medina. Ilias and team welcomed us with mint tea and we had a fantastic stay. The suites are very large and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious each day. Khalid was also kind enough to walk us to a restaurant one evening and escort us back so we wouldn’t get lost. I highly recommend Dar Seven for your stay in Marrakech.
