Dar Zemora, Palmeraie, Marrakech - Explore & Book

"Just a short taxi ride away from the hustling Medina and its souks lies Dar Zemora, a lovely country villa surrounded by orange and lemon trees, palms, roses, oleander and bougainvillea. As you enter the drive lined by olive trees and flickering lanterns at night, you instantly feel the mayhem of the city drift away. At Dar Zemora, the English owners have created a discreet country house hotel with a sense of understated theatre, which allows you to be as social or as private as you want. Relax in one of the 2 large sitting rooms, chill out in the colourful ‘Fan’ room with its swaying drapes, floor cushions and low tables, browse through the coffee table and guide books in the library, or just idle the day away by the pool in the wonderful gardens that have been created to excite the senses. With just six rooms and suites set in masses of space, each individually designed and blissfully private, you'll feel as though you have the place to yourself. This is the perfect retreat for those who have been to Marrakech before, or those who just want to dip in and out of the Medina's frenzied madness. Highs Service is quietly brilliant: staff are friendly, helpful and will look after your every need Luxurious light-filled suites with fireplaces and large private terraces The wonderful hammam is open for pampering and pummeling A true oasis of peace and tranquility after a busy day sightseeing or shopping Lovely 3-acre garden and heated swimming pool Lows Nearer to the medina than most Palmeraie hotels but still requires a petit taxi to get around The villa is unsuitable for very young children No televisions (a plus for some), so bring a laptop if you want to watch anything" - Laila Ram

Wow! We stayed for four nights at Dar Zamora, following three nights staying in the Medina…and what a contrast. |Whilst only 20 minutes or so away from the main souks, the hotel environment and ambience just feels so calming and relaxing.|We stayed in the Zahara suite which was absolutely beautiful. A four poster bed, separate sitting/lounge area with an open fire and a lovely bathroom with a huge sunken bath. Outside we had our own private terrace with day bed, seating and dining area - at which we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning. |The gardens are beautiful - calm, quiet and verdant. There is a pond with bullfrogs and terrapins and we even spotted a couple of tortoises.|We used the time to chill and relax and spent all our days at the lovely pool. At times, it appeared that we were the only couple using the area and it was just delightful. The pool area has more than enough comfortable loungers, clothes rack for hanging items, sun hats and a fan ! Typical of the attention to detail and customer care that this property provides.|We ate lunch and dinner on all but one evening and the food was excellent - fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I am vegetarian and the chef and kitchen staff tended to my needs amazingly.|The staff, led by Youssef, are all fantastic. Cleanliness of our room was first rate (the whole property is spotless), the garden is immaculate, the kitchen team provide delicious food and the service from the staff was exceptional. Never intrusive but always available…and also so friendly and engaging. |We absolutely loved our stay and felt privileged to have shared such a wonderful property.

We spent 5 nights at Dar Zemora and our stay was lovely. The small hotel is very peaceful and all the staff were friendly and very attentive. Marrakesh was a very interesting city to visit but is a very hectic place. It was lovely to return to the peace and quiet of the hotel where we chose to eat dinner most evenings. The food was lovely and they catered for my dietary requirements very well. Taxis and guides were arranged by the hotel and we received great service on our day trips to the city and the Atlas Mountains. The gardens are beautiful (would have loved to see the rose garden in bloom!) and pool area very relaxing. Thanks to Youssef and all the staff for their fantastic service and advice. We will definitely recommend Dar Zemora without hesitation to our friends.

What a fabulous hotel! Utterly charming staff who go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The location is quiet and relaxing, making it ideal after the hustle and chaos of the Medina which is easy reached in approx 15 minutes by taxi. The hotel feels like you are staying in someone's beautifully appointed country home, the bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable and there is plenty of space to accommodate the small number of guests as there are only 7 rooms. At times, you can feel like you have the whole hotel to yourself. You can choose daily if you would like lunch or dinner, and the home cooked food is good and plentiful, as are the breakfasts. All food is Moroccan which gives a very authentic experience as opposed to a hotel serving international fare. A very enjoyable highlight is the tea and homemade cake served around 4pm! As a complete package, the hotel offers excellent value for money and I can't recommend highly enough. Go - you will not be disappointed if you are hoping to combine exploring the delights of Marakkech with some relaxing pool time.

The hotel was amazing from beginning to end. The service is impeccable , and the staff are very friendly. We especially liked chatting to Ayob! The staff are helpful, giving advice on what to do , booking taxis ect so the whole experience was stress free. The room was beautiful, and cleaned to a high standard . The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced and so are drinks. The hotel is situated a bit out of the main town meaning it is very peaceful and quiet . It is a small hotel so it is very relaxing and calm. We also had a massage and a hammam which was lovely and very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing peaceful stay.

We’ve just had the most wonderful stay! We booked the pavilion suite which was beautiful and well appointed. The hotel is stunning and so tranquil in contrast to the craziness of the Medina. The staff are attentive, the food is delicious ( we enjoyed breakfast as well as several lunches and evening meals…and the afternoon tea each day). Youssef the manager arranged a guided tour of the medina and a quad biking experience in the desert both of which were excellent. We had the same taxi driver throughout our stay, Adil who was so lovely. We could not fault the hotel, it was exceptional!

A wonderful week - it was my birthday the day I arrived and I had invited some friends to mark the occasion - we were treated royally and enjoyed a most delightful cake. |Youssef and his team work seamlessly together and it is comforting to meet the same familiar team who seem to be able to anticipate our every wish.. The whole ambiance of Dar Zemora is just perfect - thank you for another week of total relaxation.

Dar Zemorah is truly a dream. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with impeccable service and genuine warmth — huge thanks to Yousef and the entire team for making our stay so special.||The property itself is stunning — serene, stylish, and surrounded by beautiful gardens full of birdsong, greenery, and calm. The pool is perfect — peaceful, well-maintained, and the ideal spot to escape the Marrakesh heat.||The food is exceptional, with ingredients grown on-site — fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour. Every meal felt thoughtful and nourishing.||If you’re looking for a tranquil, beautiful escape just outside the buzz of the city, I can’t recommend Dar Zemorah enough. We'll be dreaming of it until we return.
