"Just a short taxi ride away from the hustling Medina and its souks lies Dar Zemora, a lovely country villa surrounded by orange and lemon trees, palms, roses, oleander and bougainvillea. As you enter the drive lined by olive trees and flickering lanterns at night, you instantly feel the mayhem of the city drift away. At Dar Zemora, the English owners have created a discreet country house hotel with a sense of understated theatre, which allows you to be as social or as private as you want. Relax in one of the 2 large sitting rooms, chill out in the colourful ‘Fan’ room with its swaying drapes, floor cushions and low tables, browse through the coffee table and guide books in the library, or just idle the day away by the pool in the wonderful gardens that have been created to excite the senses. With just six rooms and suites set in masses of space, each individually designed and blissfully private, you'll feel as though you have the place to yourself. This is the perfect retreat for those who have been to Marrakech before, or those who just want to dip in and out of the Medina's frenzied madness. The hotel was amazing from beginning to end. The service is impeccable , and the staff are very friendly. We especially liked chatting to Ayob! The staff are helpful, giving advice on what to do , booking taxis ect so the whole experience was stress free. The room was beautiful, and cleaned to a high standard . The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced and so are drinks. The hotel is situated a bit out of the main town meaning it is very peaceful and quiet . It is a small hotel so it is very relaxing and calm. We also had a massage and a hammam which was lovely and very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing peaceful stay.

We’ve just had the most wonderful stay! We booked the pavilion suite which was beautiful and well appointed. The hotel is stunning and so tranquil in contrast to the craziness of the Medina. The staff are attentive, the food is delicious ( we enjoyed breakfast as well as several lunches and evening meals…and the afternoon tea each day). Youssef the manager arranged a guided tour of the medina and a quad biking experience in the desert both of which were excellent. We had the same taxi driver throughout our stay, Adil who was so lovely. We could not fault the hotel, it was exceptional!

Dar Zemorah is truly a dream. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with impeccable service and genuine warmth — huge thanks to Yousef and the entire team for making our stay so special.||The property itself is stunning — serene, stylish, and surrounded by beautiful gardens full of birdsong, greenery, and calm. The pool is perfect — peaceful, well-maintained, and the ideal spot to escape the Marrakesh heat.||The food is exceptional, with ingredients grown on-site — fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour. Every meal felt thoughtful and nourishing.||If you’re looking for a tranquil, beautiful escape just outside the buzz of the city, I can’t recommend Dar Zemorah enough. We'll be dreaming of it until we return.

What an amazing place!||Colonial feel to a traditional Morrocan home. Beautiful rooms, clean throughout, freshly prepared food, we dined in the evening several times as it was so good, stunning gardens and grounds, lovely shaded pool to relax by, croquet and bowls should anyone wish to use them, then we come to the staff, the cleaners, the gardeners all so friendly and helpful and polite. In particular Yassime, Ayoub,Modi and Anas (hope I have spelled the names correctly) to whome nothing was too much trouble and attended our every need.||Peaceful, calming atmosphere.||Would recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit the area.

We stayed for 4 nights in March (should have been 5 nights but we were unlucky to have picked the day Heathrow was closed due the fire as the day to fly so lost a day). Dar Zemora is very much a tranquil haven and a wonderful antidote to the madness of the Medina (approx 15 mins by taxi to the Medina). Lovely grounds, a nice pool and excellent food. We stayed in the Perla suite which was lovely (the private roof terrace is fantastic). Above all what makes Dar Zemora special is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff which contribute to the relaxed and friendly feel to the place. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dar Zemora as a great place to stay.

Heaven. So peaceful and beautiful. The grounds are wonderful and it was a delight to see baby tortoises, tiny kittens and a huge array of birds. |The staff have the great combination of being attentive but relaxed and the food was excellent. |The interiors are gorgeous -the perfect balance of traditional Moroccan with a sort of mid century glamour -the place feels like it’s been there for well over its 20 years. Authentic and beautiful -no gimmicks or novelty value (or any sort of ‘instagram’ feeling, thank God!). In short, a very special place with integrity. 10/10. |Oh! And the Hammam and massage were incredible!

Quite simply, one of the most exquisite small hotels we have ever stayed in. Only seven rooms, five in the house and two in a separate annexe, all beautifully decorated in understated Moroccan style. The English owners take great pride in this home from home, and everything is perfect. Youssef the Manager is wonderful, as is his chef wife Jamila – the food was truly excellent. The 20 or so staff look after the small estate beautifully, as well as being well trained to cater to us Europeans. Just perfect in every way if you are looking for a few days excellent service, peace and serenity. The large gardens and vegetable gardens are beautiful, and the heated pool is welcome. We will be back next year.

Youssef, Jamila and all of the team at Dar Zemora always make my stay so enjoyable and relaxing. They are for me the soul of the place and the reason I will be back once again in 2026. ||Guests are surrounded by the lush and tranquil gardens, there are only seven rooms/suites available so there is always a quiet and relaxing air which is only disturbed by the occasional rustling of the tortoises as they pass by. ||I asked one of the staff why I always felt so relaxed, the moment I set foot the door of the Dar Zemora. He replied very simply, “because we are family”. I have introduced 6 friends to the joys of staying here and there will be another 2 joining me next year, everyone says the same thing. It’s just such a wonderful place. ||Youssef is amazing, always able to arrange trips or lunch venues and even a round of golf. For me it’s the perfect place to rest and relax, eat local homegrown food, take a hamam and enjoy a pace of life no quicker than the tortoises themselves. ||Shukran.
