"Pondering the Koobideh I love Persian cuisine, but I love art I don't understand even more. Tough to decide which to show you here, but I went with the art. This gentleman does not look nearly as happy as I did after lunch, and I don't know why. This shouldn't keep you from sinking your teeth into the koobideh, or Iranian minced meat kebab. It was delicious, and had to have been on every plate in the house. The bread served along with my kebab was fresh and light, and the soup was a first for me; it was made with pomegranates and split peas, and was one of the more interesting dishes I've sampled in a good while. Speaking of the house, it's open 24-hours—fantastic if the city has kept you up late at night. Please try and get a seat under this painting. Do it for me."

First time here: It was full , and there were no seats available. Time was at 830PM on a Wednesday evening. Fortunately enough the supervisor on duty was nice enough to come outside to look for me, to let me know that there was a seat available. It was about 2 minutes after I left the restaurant due to being at full capacity. I got the beef skewer, and bread. Food was quick to get. Service was good, and hostess would check up on me to make sure I was taken care of. I would come again, but maybe at a different time. Kudos again for the supervisor to come get me so I can enjoy the food.

We spent a good time here. We ordered the following: Soltani Kebab(Main Dish) Fesenjan(Main Dish) Maust Mooseer(Cold Appetizer) And Two Yogurt Drinks. The food was delicious, the Two serving girls were very warm, smiling and very welcoming. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Keep up the good work Darband Restaurant.

The food at Darband is amazing...so much so that we drove all the way from Montreal just to eat here. We first discovered this place in 2019, while visiting Toronto, then came back in 2022 when we came to see the Raptors...and now this time we were craving this food so we made a special trip just to have supper here. So many dishes , so many ways that they make rice taste so good. Once you try their food you'll be mesmerized by the aroma and taste... Try the eggplant dishes, quite tasty. This place gets quite busy and is very popular, I only wish they had a bigger restaurant to accommodate everyone. Service is friendly, and quick. They are accommodating for vegetarians as the actual vegetarian options on the menu are somewhat limited. Is it worth a 5 hour drive from Montreal, most definitely yes!

Your « mahiche and sour cherry rice » were absolutely amazing, but even before the food, what truly stood out was your exceptional customer service. Even though your ordering time had ended, you still took our order, and we’re truly grateful for your kindness. The takeout package was very well-prepared, and you even included complimentary drinks and yogurt for us — such thoughtful touches! All of this made us feel genuinely appreciated as customers and made the experience so memorable. Unlike most of our experiences with Iranian restaurants in Toronto, you were simply outstanding. We’d love to come back again!

⸻ I ordered Ash Reshteh and Dizi from Darband Restaurant. The Ash Reshteh was tasty and comforting, but I was really disappointed with the Dizi. It didn’t resemble traditional Dizi — it was more like a mix of beans and lamb shank, and it was extremely spicy. Spicy food is really bad for me, especially since I was sick and needed something mild and traditional. I specifically chose Dizi expecting a soothing, authentic dish, not something heavily spiced. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into account and sticks closer to the traditional recipe in the future.

Absolutely loved our meals. Great atmosphere and friendly host. We ordered Fesenjoon and Kabob Koobideh. Both were delicious and tender! Will come back soon.

Google
The best kallepache I’ve ever had. The tongue was perfectly cooked, and the whole brain, two eyes, and meat were incredibly tender. It was served with a flavorful bowl of broth, bread and lemon juice. The taste was truly authentic, everything was to the perfection. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip to Toronto. Highly recommend!

They have been around for more than 20 years. They started by serving everything and did not lose the market in a second. Right now, So far eerything is premaked and frozen and microwaved food, and probably most come from 3rd party. My recent orders were melted in their microwave and send it out. Check my attached photo. If you want to be healthy cook at home and never ever come around this place. For sure 311 should go there and take a look at that place.

Yelp
We have been to Darband a few times - it's consistently one of the best Persian restaurants in the GTA. Given the number of options available, that's an achievement on its own. The restaurant space is quite small, no reservations, and it's usually very busy - like a 20 min wait at 4pm in the afternoon! The portions are impressive - be prepared to take food home, so you might as well get a variety. We have had a good variety of the menu options - but our go to are the stews and the kebabs.

Yelp
We always had ordered for takeout, but this time we decided to dine-in. We arrived around 8pm and all the tables were full, so we waited for 10 minutes for a table to become available. They have about 6-7 tables inside the restaurant, so depending on the time of the day, they can be at capacity. We ordered "garden salad" and "Zeitoon Parvardeh" for appetizer and "Barg Kebab", "Sultani Kebab", "Vaziri Kebab" and "Baghali Polo Gardan". BBQ's meats were fresh and perfectly marinated. The service was okay, but since they receive so many orders for takeout, that's their main focus.

Good one ! The food quality is really good, and the environment is clean and organized.

Yelp
Darband Restaurant has been one our family's preferred places to dine at over the years, especially when we were looking for decent quality Persian cuisine near the Don Mills area. We generally have Darband on our list of favourite Persian restaurants, along with Zaffron, Taftan, Sheherzade Persian Grill, The Pomegranate and Darvish. We ordered the most popular dish, Koobideh with Rice (your choice of either rice or bread). It was very well-flavoured with a heaping mountain of fluffy rice, a chargrilled tomato and sumac upon request. We also ordered the fourth most popular dish, Ghorme Sabzi with Rice (your choice of either rice or bread). It's always a great choice. Taftoon Bread is a little extra but it is worth the add on! They were once open 24 hours but have since shortened their hours. The website lists their hours as Monday to Friday 11AM - 10PM. Weekends (Saturday to Sunday) 9AM - 10PM. Delivery is available through Uber Eats. Although yet to visit Gilaneh Restaurant or Takhte Tavoos, old habits die hard and Darband is one of our family's biggest habits. We have a habit of agreeing to have delicious Persian food for dinner. With their extensive menu options it is an easy choice for everyone.

Yelp
5 stars, 10/10, show stopping, unbelievable. I really enjoy the food at Darband - the quality is top notch, but also the variety of unique choices available is quite good. I had a dish called dizi which is a meat stew that you eat by placing pieces of the stew in a small bowl, add bread, and mash up all together. It's incredible! The meat is so tender and soft. Service was prompt and courteous. They've also a recently renovated - the place looks great making for a perfect, cozy ambience. I look forward to going back.

Yelp
Delicious Halim and Kaleh Pacheh ! I recommend these guys strongly. Very good price and taste. My favourite destination for both dishes. Have tried their Chelo Kababs too and they are tasty. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy too.

Yelp
I went to this place on a Friday for lunch. No waiting. I was seated immediately. No alcoholic beverages. I ordered green salad that was served in a plastic container. And Soltani that was Barg and Koobideh kabobs with rice cooked Persian style. Soltani was well prepared and delicious. The service is fast and friendly. I enjoyed my meal. It is a great place to have Persian meal with a reasonable price. However it is not fancy and serves salad in plastic containers that is way I give them four shiny stars.

Yelp
We got takeout from here for a family gathering Ordered by phone which was pretty quick and painless. The parking in this area can be really busy and tight so just be careful. The family platter was tons of food. The tomatoes have a nice char. Chicken breast was flavorful and not dry. The filet mignon had great flavor though a bit tougher than I thought it would be. The minced beef kebab was fantastic - great flavor, moist, delicious! The rice was great, light and fluffy. The crispy rice is always a favorite amongst everyone. The lamb shank was pretty tender and the broad beans in the rice was nice. I feel like other Persian restaurants have a stronger dill flavor than here. Price: Pretty good price in comparison to other Persian restaurants but overall, most of these restaurants tend to be more expensive but the quality of meat is quite high.

Yelp
I wish so badly that this place existed in Tampa, FL. Wonderful Persian kebabs, especially the koobideh.

Yelp
Great Iranian Kebob; we always order Koobideh Kebab meal. We call & pick up our order & always ready on the time. We will try to dine-in in the future.

Yelp
I hate to say it but this was literally one of the worst Persian foods that I've had in a long time, we tried three different dishes and they were all pretty bad and the service was just as bad. Definitely a pass on this place
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
I can understand why this place is quite popular. The portions are big, the price is very reasonable and the grilled meat is tasty. My friend and I order the platter for 2 which included grilled barg (filet mignon), koodieh (ground beef) and chicken thigh. It came with 2 large portions of rice and pita bread. I like how they took out the metal skewers so our meat won't go flying as we try to pull/slip the meat out. The koodieh had a relatively strong herb and onion taste. The barg and chicken thigh were mildly season. None of the meat were dry! The portion of rice was big! One dish could actually feed both of us. The only criticism is that I wish they gave us fresh housemade pita instead of the store bought ones.

Amirarsalan E.

Yelp
I ordered Tahchin morgh by Uber Eats at 6:30 p.m today and the restaurant canceled my order at 9:15 p.m near closing time without any notice.

Yelp
I went there coz I was craving for rice with dill and broad bean and this satisfied my cravings. The Baghali rice was addicting...The lamb is fall of the bone, the beef kebab is tasty...the eggplant was least favourite as it is too much different spice they put. The restaurant is tiny and the plaza is a busy plaza. I ordered for take out and they do have a lot of take out orders as well. Ambience is typical. Would go back.

Fahad M.

Yelp
Was in the mood for some Persian food so ended up here after sunset. Great ambiance. Easy to find parking outside. The food came out quick and was warm and fresh. If they had more vegetarian options, then that would have been even better. Would visit again for sure. Service was quick.
google avatar

Yelp
Heads up when entering the plaza look out for vehicle speeding out of the plaza. The is ample parking in front and the back. I have had food from Darband before. This was my first time getting take out. Thank you COVID19:-). The food is always on point. Meat is seasoned well and cooked right. Be sure to ask for the BBQed chilli pepper. It doesn't come with every meal, but they are will gladly give you one to try. Service is always polite and friendly. It seems to be a family run business and food is good. Check all my boxes. Give em a try.

Yelp
24/7 open wins my heart, but wait that's not the only reason. This place is by far the most delicious Persian food i have had around here.So this is old restaurant with no fancy frills attached.I have visited them way too many times to claim that their food is always consistent. Lets get started with the food. Its fresh, very tasteful and great for the $$$. My standard order here is the kash-e-badejamen which is a paste like eggplant appetizer garnished with fried brown onions, fried mint and dollops of goat milk cream-its heaven on a plate. They do give free khaboos/pita.I also order the Koobideh kabobs which are my ultimate fav. here, they are juicy and bursting of flavors-this entrée comes with saffron rice and char-grilled tomatoes. They are two big kabobs in this platter, when here do try this. Last but mot the least whenever they do have it on the menu I order Jigar which is liver on the skewers, I absolutely love love them. So they sell these by the skewers and each one is under $4.The liver is perfectly grilled without too many spices and its great with a squeeze of lime. This place has great service, the ladies there are welcoming and quick. Like I mentioned in my introduction this isn't a fancy place so the décor and ambience is very average. I would have given them a full 5 stars if they had better bathrooms. Last time I used them and their taps don't function too well and that kinda ticked me off. These little details are very very important to me. There is shortage of parking outside. Money wise this place is very reasonable my last bill was $35 which included the tax and my last order can been seen via my most recent pics. If you are Persian food lover this is definitely the place to go, I assure you that you won't be disappointed.I live so far from this place that i don't come here very often, but i do make special trips to North York just to devour their delicious food.

Yelp
The star for me was the service, on a very busy day (Christmas) the staff were very patient and helpful. We tried the dizi and soltani dish. The dizi was nice and was served with a piece of sangak bread. It desperate needed salt but apart from that it was really good. The soltani kabab (koobideh and barg) were legit. Weren't the best kababs you would have but definitely would hit the mark.

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this place on a late night drive. Darband serves Iranian / Persian food. We ordered take out, but the place was almost full with customers even at around 11pm. Interior: feels a little dated. The restaurant is decorated with middle Eastern inspired paintings. Food: this is my first time having Iranian / Persian food. We ordered the fillet mignon + beef kabob & chicken kabob with rice. Each dish comes with a roasted tomato, and a big pile of rice. The portion size here is HUGE. So order with caution. The fillet mignon was super tender & flavourful. The rice is light and fluffy. The roasted tomato mixed in with light and airy rice + meat of your choice makes a very unique flavor pairing. The kabobs were decent. But definitely give the fillet mignon a go if you enjoy beef. Everything came piping hot so there was no doubt that everything was made fresh to order. Service: can't comment too much on service since we ordered take out. Would highly recommend this place if you have those late night cravings.

Yelp
Persian food available 24/7 WHAT?! Nice alternative when you want a filling meal late at night or early in the morning that's NOT fast food. Important note: 10% added to order if you're there between midnight and 7am. Terrible time driving into the plaza from the far side of the busy road because not all drivers in the opposing lane leave you a space to get through when the traffic stops at the red light: JERKS! Might as well make a u turn to skip the hassle. Small, filled parking area in the front but many more spaces in the back of the plaza. When we entered the restaurant, it took the waitress a few minutes to acknowledge us since it looked liked they were trying to resolve a problem at the back of the room. We were greeted with a smile and led to a large booth even though it was only me and hubby: I would suggest getting one of the comfy booths around the perimeter because the tables in the middle are squished together so not much leg or elbow room. We ordered the Kashk Bademjam (puree of golden fried eggplant with onion whey and mint), Persian soup (veggies, noodles, pinto beans, whey, sauteed garlic and mint), and Koobideh (charbroiled, seasoned ground beef) Kebab with rice. The complementary (flat)bread was cold and tasted day old. The eggplant appetizer was too mushy and slightly slimy, bleh! There was something funky going on with the soup: musty smell and terrible taste (hey, I've tried durian before so the smell didn't deter me from at least trying it). The kebab, thankfully, was delicious: juicy, tender and flavorful. The accompanying rice was a little too oily for my taste. Our waitress was nice and pleasant but the other one didn't crack a smile but was helpful. Occasionally both of them would disappear into the kitchen so we'd have to wait before we could get serviced. I wouldn't mind coming back for more delicious, succulent kebab if I was in the mood for late night eats AND I was in the area.
google avatar

Andrei A.

Yelp
I ordered takeout via Uber Eats the other day from Darband. The value for the money is definitely there. Portions are generous and the food is tasty. Especially, their rice. My only gripe is that the skewer of boneless chicken leg and one skewer Koobideh Kebab (Vaziri Leg) were both dry and overcooked for my taste. Both were tasty but not juicy enough. I also recommend you try Darband's Borani Esfenaj - a mixture of boiled spinach and plain yogurt.
google avatar

Nashmil R.

Yelp
I like the food here. We ordered Soltani kebab and Kashk bademjun. Both were good but Kashk bademjun could be better.

Maya M.

Yelp
Always tried Kebabs but this time tried Ghorme sabzi was wonderful ! Remind me my grandma's ghorme sabzi
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
Highly recommend this location. They have the whole curb side pickup/takeout process streamlined. Food is great. Chicken - get the dark meat - was super juicy and best koobideh. We also regularly get one of their dips to use as a topping. Try the hot eggplant one. Very rich and delicious.

Yelp
The BEST thing about this place is that it's always open! I don't think they ever close?! A great spot if you're out late, from work or partying or whatever it is, to find a good decent meal other than a fast food option. Their kababs are delicious, both kobideh and Sultani, as well as the chicken Kababs. They also have real authentic dishes that you won't find at your typical Persian restaurant. Service is always good and you get your food fast. The place could use some renovations, I've never seen anything done to it in the past 10 years maybe! It does look a little beat-up. They also offer takeout, which is real good since the place isn't too big and it gets full quickly at times. in terms of food, great spot

Yelp
This was the first time that we have been in an Iranian restaurant. We came here as we were in the mood for Kebabs, was close to our place and had good reviews. We came in around 9:30pm on a Saturday and the place was fairly busy. It's 24 hours. It's not a big restaurant and it can get a little tight if you are not seating in the booths. Minimal decor but they have two large screens TV with Persian music videos on. The wait staff was helpful and patient with us as we were the only non Persian people in the restaurant and weren't sure what to order. We ordered the Lamb Shank with dill rice and the Chicken and Ground Beef dish with Jasmine rice. I found the Lamb delicious although my wife thought it had a strong smell. I didn't noticed nor did I mind. The dill rice was very good. The Chicken and Ground Beef was good too although a bit salty. The pita bread provided a nice balance to the meats. The portion sizes are huge. It might be a good idea to share a dish if you are not too hungry. Also my wife noticed how each table had what it looked like a Yogurt soft drink which we later found out from our waitress that it was Ayran. We ordered one to try it. The mixture of Cold Yogurt with salt was not something we were expecting. It's not something we are going to order again but it was good that we tried it. We enjoyed our dining experience and we'll come back again. Recommended!

Yelp
I love kebabs. Like I go everywhere - all the time after the worlds best - which is probably inside of Tehran. Listen up. This place is a solid 3/5 - but as we all know 2 vacant spaces are irritating. This company has potential but they need to grab it by the ears and own that shit. This is somewhat of a failure food joint - which is really sad. However as long as you order the right things that dance on your tongue a then you're all set

Yelp
Persian food Meat Platter I, yogurt with cucumber, kashak bademjan, The yogurt and eggplant are good. Ground beef well made. And Reza Attaran was here having his lunch with his crew

Yelp
Awesome place to eat kobobs at ummm 24/7. This place never closes and you can literally leave the club at 3am and drive straight down there for some kobobs (that's if you aren't feeling late night McDonald's to set you straight lol). Over all the food is not bad but it's a bit bland compared to other Persian restaurants. But beggars can't be choosers in the middle of the night on a stormy December.
google avatar

Nooshin S.

Yelp
Great persian food. I have tried a variety of their dishes and liked all of them! The koobide/chenjeh combo or the Sultani was great. I liked the chenje better than the koobide though, it was very tender. We also got kalepacheh to-go and it was delicious. They had done a great job of packing it because we were worried about it spilling in our car. The best thing for us was their customer service. The servers were extremely nice, polite and patient on a very busy day. For example when some of decided we wanted half rice half salad with our kebabs, the server was super nice about it and said they might have already prepared the dishes, which was true but she brought us all side salads anyway. All in all, was happy with everything.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Had the wonderfully succulent lamb shank special with rice and lentils. Huge portion! Atmosphere was good and music was perfect; soft Persian melodies. Service was prompt and helpful. Id return!

Ed S.

Yelp
When dining in, it would be nice if they served their food on plates rather than in takeout containers and paper plates
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible food. I come here for the best koobideh in Toronto. The quality of food speaks for itself here. The kebabs are always perfectly cooked. The grilled vegetable add on is excellent and must add with your dinner.Koobideh Kebab
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered the Vazerri dinner, it had 1 piece of beef and 1 piece of chicken skewer with rice, very delicious and tasty compare to a lot of other places I have tried

Yelp
I think this place is very famous within Persians. The place is not very fancy, no special interior design that reminds u this place is a persian restaurant. The food: They serve either white pita bread or rice with Kebabs. The rice was not very delicious as Persian rice should be. Our order had Shirazi Salad, it was very salty and weird. Koobideh, was good but the Barg, was not very great as u always expect it. Overall this place worth trying, staff are nice and polite too.
google avatar

Hossein T.

Yelp
Not too bad, mostly appropriate for late carving nights although the options are limited that time. Both service and food are average. FYI, they add extra fees after 12.
google avatar

Zarene S.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Darband's food. The reason I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars is because I believe they have a lot to work on in terms of space and service. The restaurant itself could make better use of the space they have. The chairs and tables are very wide and are awkwardly placed. They shouldn't allow parties over 4 people because of their limited capacity. It's very tightly packed and uncomfortable. The severs could use better training, as they don't know which tables to bring the meals out to, they eat during the job, and they don't check in on the restaurant guests. When they're cleaning up, they carelessly throw all the dirty dishes into the bins which is so disruptive, I can barely hear the person sitting across the table. Instead of having these bins in the dining room, it's probably better to have them in the kitchen instead. These are simple changes the restaurant can make, but the next time I'm getting Darband- it's going to be to go.

Yelp
Came here out of curiosity with a friend; we ordered the Vaziri kebab (chicken leg and beef), and the Shirazi salad and Zeitoon Parvardeh. They give you bread with your meal, so it was good to have it while eating the appetizers. The kebab dinner was a huge portion -- definite value for your money. The wait staff were super attentive and friendly. Definitely coming back here to try their other menu items!
google avatar

Yvanna L.

Yelp
Convenient location from work, good portions and reasonable price. I just think the rice is not seasoned well.

Carla ..

Yelp
Atmosphere/service: Nice cozy place. One of our servers was welcoming but the other lady never smiled; so you get what you get. Stayed a while after our meal was over, chatting; and nobody seemed to mind, so that was nice! (Place was busy but not full) Food: Appetizer when you arrive is pita and a raw onion, with pats of butter. We didn't eat either so can't comment. Odered stuffed eggplant appetizer- we both really enjoyed this. Also, koobideh (ground beef skewer) and chicken (breast) Kebab- both were very tasty. About partway through the meal, another server brought Shirazi salad, though we hadn't ordered it; we forgot to check if it was charged though (hope not)! Large portions and we brought most of it home (still very good the next day, reheated). Didn't try the salad, since neither of us cared for the chopped onion in it. Also, seemed to be patronized by mostly Persian people, which I think speaks well for the food, right? Will likely find here with my Iranian friends; I'm curious for their opinion! They get lots of take-out business (on a Friday evening) One more thing: lamb head was on the menu (with eyeballs and brain); I just had to throw that out there for those adventurous diners! You're welcome ;)

Yelp
This is becoming my favorite Iranian restaurant, it give an amazing representation for the persian cuisine. I have been here twice, and I enjoyed every meal, we shared. I tried 5 dishes and all were above expectations. The cold appetizer keshek bedemjan is to die for, I tried also the lamb shanks and neck, served with dill rice. Fesenjan chicken pomegranate molasses stew. pacheh which is lamb feet cooked for a long time, a similar dish made with lamb head, brain and tongue. I have came back later and tried their kababs, grilled chicken and lamb fillet, it is beyond delicious, tender and juicy, this is a must try also. The service is very good, welcoming staff, know the menu items, the prices are reasonable and the meals are fulfilling. I can't think of a bad thing during these 3 experiences. I would recommend you to give it a try. I, myself, will be coming back here every then and a while.

Yelp
Darband is as good as it gets. Their koobideh is best I've had in North America. It comes with perfectly grilled tomato and buttery rice. Chicken breast is also delicious. It's open 24/7 so get your kabob fix anytime. End your meal with their delicious Persian tea.
google avatar

Joann W.

Yelp
Came here multiple times. Food is consistently good. Feels very authentic and has lots of dishes that are full in flavour. Very affordable prices and open 24/7. One of the places that has the best skewers.

Yelp

Yelp
Food - was ok, nothing out of this world. Anyplace on Yonge n Finch could've made better food Service - horrible! A group of 10 they messed up all our orders, and 2 of 10 didn't get their food until 20 min later! Owner/manager- thought that we were drunk so he tried to scam us and make us pay for 2 plates that we never ordered or even got! Ps. If you like Torshi (pickled vegetables) they'll give you 5 pieces for $5 what a scam! Hahahah

Yelp
Best kale paache ever! The food is really yummy and the portions are massive. Service can be better!

Yelp
Even at take out their service is wonderful! Food was delicious, I sure will come next time and enjoy the full dining in experience.

Bahar S.
