DARK TOWER COMICS - LOGAN SQUARE

I don't get the chance to play MTG when visiting other cites that often. When I approached the staff at Dark Tower Comics, they were polite and tried to accommodate. They were able to slot me into a pre-release event and didn't make it seem like a hassle. The place is clean and inviting. Nice bathroom. Has that familiar comic book smell. Would definitely recommend.

👎👎Different service is given when I called this Comic shop. In person seems a bit stand-offish Customer Service. No problem, I will not return. Also, Mr. Brandon gives special treatment to certain people. Watch oit fir his comics.They ask high prives on variants suchas: 1:10, 1:25 etc, and they are not in good condition for the prices. Respectfully, the service given to me was not professional. No need for apologies. Words of advice, I am not naming any comic shop franchises, but maybe visit some in the Chicagoland area, so you can learn how to treat all types of customers. 👎👎

Very impressive selection of graphic novels and comic books. I was able to find an issue of Alien that was out of stock at my local comic shops. Also there is a loyalty program for items that are priced $12 and up. Was offered a free comic with my purchase which was a nice bonus. If exploring this area, Toy de Jour and Nakama Toys are within walking distance and offer a different kind of selection but should appeal to similar interests.

It's looking really nice after the switch to Dark Tower. There's been a lot of improvements very quickly and new layout is much more welcoming. They've got some great new dice in and I'm happy to Magic getting some attention again. (Plus there's Pat!)

The best comic shop in the city. Excellent staff, great collection of floppies and other products, and Magic: the Gathering events fire near-daily.

Went for a MTG Legacy tournament and had a blast. Great, welcoming crowd (and, there was quite the crowd) and a ton of fun. They even had a giveaway! If you’re a Magic player in the area, this is where you should be playing!

This store is full of toxic players that make you feel ashamed for just wanting to play the game as defined. Players there will make you feel bad for winning, bring a good deck or just playing in a way that the game is intended. They are now catering to new toxic voices that are driving out long time community members that have poured in tons of time & effort to build this community up over the years and change of ownership. What a fall from grace and a way to make some long time pillars of the community not go there anymore. They bully other players while trying to act like it's a nice community but it's not for you anymore if you do too much with the game.

Not really a comic shop pro. I got back into reading comics during COVID, but mostly digital and after a while it turned into buying physical stuff. G-Mart (the previous shop that occupied this space) was very close to me so it was my go to shop. I found their online ordering setup a bit old school, but man what I wouldn't give to have that back. At least G-Mart would send you e-mails updating you on your order. The Dark Tower system is definitely more modern, but there's no real notifications unless I'm missing something. No more discounts on subs either which is a real kick in the dick. I pre-ordered a comic months in advance, again no real e-mail communication. Showed up on the release date and they just straight up didn't have it. The good thing is they don't charge you ahead of time like G-Mart did. Luckily Challengers had it in stock though! The other day I got a new releases e-mail for the first time in the history of the store becoming Dark Tower and it's just some dudes name instead of Dark Tower so I thought it was junk. I dunno man, I usually like the real local mom and pop feel of stores because everything is a shitty chain these days, but this place may be a little too mom and pop. Hopefully I've just had bad luck with them but I'm back to a digital only comic reader for the time being.

I will begin here, the original location was G-Mart comics until the original owner retired and sold the location. G-Mart is only online now. Very clean location, plenty of space. The setup is different, but still had a good selection comics to funko pops, games, collectibles and more. Very friendly staff, greeted once coming in. The game room in the back is still available. The value of the comics are at a good price. No complaints. I was sad to see G-Mart comics go, but I am glad it stayed comic shop. I wish Dark Tower comics so much success. I will be back soon.

They Have a Huge Selection of Comics :) Excellent Service Staff was Friendly :) I would shop here Again. I believe they Have Game Nights as Well for Magic the Gathering
