Darkroom Espresso is a brilliant spot for proper coffee. The quality is consistently excellent, with well-sourced beans and baristas who clearly know their craft. Big shoutout to Toby for the friendly service and consistently great coffee. Relaxed atmosphere and always a pleasure to visit — easily one of the best coffee spots around. Highly recommended.

Having discovered Darkroom Espresso on the European Coffee Trip app, this place turns out to be an absolute gem 💎 Stephen and his team offer warmth and friendliness by the bucketload and exceptionally good coffee. I can highly recommend the skinny iced decaf mocha. It is lovely to encounter a team so passionate about what they do. If there are any coffee lovers visiting Swindon then Darkroom Espresso is a must.

Quite simply the best coffee shop in Swindon. I’ve been coming to Darkroom Espresso for some time now & they consistently provide high quality coffee every time. The staff are always friendly & welcoming & it’s just a great place to chill out at if you have a spare hour. The toasties are also really nice & we also love the cake choices on offer. Darkroom Espresso is one of the main reasons, for me, to come into Swindon town centre.

I had a wonderful experience at this coffee shop! The atmosphere was lovely, and the room temperature was just right. With Christmas in the air, the tasteful music added to the festive vibe. I ordered the toasted 3 cheese sourdough sandwich, and it was amazing and very filling – definitely shareable. The tortilla chips and salsa were a lovely accompaniment, and the flat white, expertly crafted by the talented barista Toby, was perfect. We sat at the back on a table that you can chalk on, which added a fun and creative touch to our visit. Highly recommended for a delightful coffee and dining experience!

We decided to try this coffee shop in Swindon due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews, only to be left disappointed. The flat white was bland and watery. As someone who has been to a multitude of coffee shops and cafés, the overall quality of the coffee was extremely poor. Furthermore, we tried the “70%” hot chocolate, which left a bad taste in the mouth and wasn’t all that chocolatey at all. I thought I would try the Pistacchio Croissant, which ended up being very dry, and tasted old with the cold pistachio spread as a filling. I would not recommend this coffee shop to those who enjoy coffee and pastries. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Good coffee, chill atmosphere and friendly service always. I love their toasts especially mozzarella and prosciutto one.

My favourite coffee shop in Swindon. A relaxed atmosphere, with great hot drinks, a small but tasty food menu, and really friendly staff.

Not a ‘modernista’ but ancient 83rd y o with JR Alfie - call in whenever I take my beautiful XJ8 into Wiltshire Jaguar for servicing and work and settle into the sofa on the left inside the door with a good old fashioned pot of tea with toast and marmalade absolute bliss …… Thank you for the best friendliest and most reasonably priced cafe in Swindon😇

Yelp
My go to coffee house. Most excellent coffee, the choice on offer always changing. I quite often come away with a packet of beans to brew at home after trying it at the coffee shop. And the sandwiches are to die for ! Incredibly tasty and filling.

Yelp
Really like this place, nice laidback vibe. Sadly they were out of ice cubes so I couldnt have the iced coffee I wanted but I had a latte and brownie (incredible) and sat in there for basically a whole Sunday.

Yelp
I've been living in Melbourne for a few yrs now, and it's always a bit disappointing coming home to the Costa and Starbucks brands here in the UK. But a great surprise I this trip, a Melbourne style coffee shop!! run by Jackie and Andrew. Spent a very pleasant hr talking coffee, Andrew even let me sample their cold filtered, excellent! I'm only here for short time, but I'll be back, and hopefully the growth of the independent coffee shops continues space in the UK

Yelp
Glad that there is another lovely independent coffee shop in Swindon! And this one is near the town centre. I actually found out about the place through another coffee shop so I made a mental note to stop in. However, I ended up walking by just randomly, not actually looking for the place, so it was quite fortunate. The decor is quite minimalist, but there is a lot of room inside, which is really nice if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy your coffee while reading or writing or talking with friends. Instantly I noticed the fresh bread on the counter (there were pastries and sandwiches as well). They had baguettes and I noticed an Olive and Lavender Loaf. I didn't purchase one then as I would be headed out into the rain again and didn't want it to get all soggy. However, I will have to go back to get one because my curiosity has gotten the best of me. I attempted to order a Soy Chai Latte only to find out that they were out of Chai mix :(. Which is why I gave them four stars instead of five, but I guess that is getting really critical. Instead I ordered a Soy Latte... needed the caffeine anyway when the guy asked the other staff member if they had Soy Milk. That's when I learned that not only do they have Soy Milk, but they also have Almond Milk. How lovely for those that have intolerances/allergies... or those that just want an alternative! As I was paying, the staff were chatting with me and it was so nice as I found out that they have only been open for a month and they also offered me a loyalty card! As I was waiting for my latte, I browsed the shelf next to the register as they had art and handmade cards for sale. The cards were quite humorous... in a corny way, but they made me chuckle. If you like puns, you'd like these. Really enjoy this place and while I like the tunes at my other coffee shop, I think I might prefer this one because of the space... and fresh bread loaves! They also have free wifi, the code is on the register, so make note of it as you pay.
