Darkwood Beach Bar and Restaurant

Darkwood Beach is a slice of paradise in Antigua. The water is as calm. Perfect for a soothing swim. The sand is a dream under your feet, white, fine, and impossibly soft, like powdered sugar. And when you're ready for a break from the sun, the beach bar restaurant is your oasis. The drinks are refreshing & delicious, while the staff makes you feel right at home with their warmth and great service. It's an experience that encapsulates the best of island life. Come here in the evening to enjoy the sunset. It’s breathtaking.

We only had conch fritters and beer, but enjoyed every bite!! We loved dining right on the beach!

Great location on Darkwood, service was fab, approached and seated straight away. Quick drink and food service. Food was ok, all cooked well, but as my kid said 'this is just like my school dinners' so it's like canteen food standard. All edible just not super tasty, if that makes sense But overall it was a good lunchtime stop off.

Made my way here more than a couple times, prices on food and drinks were great and the staff was friendly and made sure I never got thirsty. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island as well. Don’t miss it!

An absolutely stunning location with a good beach. The water park is great fun and good value too. We were lucky enough to have Darkwood on our doorstep during our stay in Antigua and we definitely plan to return. The food, drinks and service provided at the beach bar were all really good and reasonably priced too. A great place to stay or visit when on holiday in Antigua!

We stopped here quickly on a Thursday afternoon during our taxi tour of Antigua. Wished we had more time to sit at the bar and swim. They had ice cream and chips for our son. Then we had two different beers and the really fun Tipsy Shots of the day that were adult themed lol. Staff was very, very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. The beach was picture perfect. Super soft sand and gorgeous water. Lots of shaded area if you needed an umbrella.

We went here to enjoy the sunset and we loved it ! The place is nice and gives you the friendly atmosphere. It's a simple place, not too flashy, but we love the crush and the drinks they offer. The service is fast and the girls are very friendly as well. I enjoyed my coconut crush, although I asked for soursop one, which unfortunately was gone. The crush in fresh and not too sweet, as I like it. The beach is lovely as well. Not too crowded, at least by the time we visited this place.

It's hard to give a beach and restaurant five stars, so I won't. But I can give an enthusiastic four. Beautiful, uncrowded sand. Perfect water. Excellent menu ... try the jerk chicken sandwich! Service was snappy ... Shawndon was very attentive and generous. Bathrooms were clean, too. Great place for sun or rain ... on a chair under an umbrella or sheltered in the restaurant. Thanks for a very nice day!
