Darkwood Beach Bar and Restaurant

This place its just a shame. We were driving around the island and stopped for lunch. It is in a beautiful beach but place is dirty, service is rude and food is just okay and over priced for what it is. Enjoy the beach and avoid the restaurant.

We had an unfortunate experience here. Taxis seem to be really pushing this place. The beach and ocean is very nice though there was low visibility for snorkeling. Problem was the staff and restaurant. Everyone was super angry and irritated. I heard them say multiple racial slurs about an Asian group. I asked several times for a menu and finally got one. We ordered a total of 3 beers that were each listed as $4 4x3=12. When we were ready to pay, the waitress said the total was $17. She argued with me that the prices had been changed but not yet on the menu. I went to the restaurant and after a bunch of back and forth, they provided the accurate price which was clearly on the bill. It all felt like a scam. Many people we spoke with had similar experiences Left a bad taste in my mouth. No problem with higher prices and paying what is owed but I don’t like dishonesty and being scammed..

Terrible food and Terrible service. Don't listen to those giving this place 5 or 4 stars. They don't know better. 1) Really slow service. 2) Bad mood and not a smile anywhere. 3) Demanding a tip in the end, the nerve man, the nerve. 4) Very mediocre food with european prices. 5) Very nice beach. Bring your own food.

Made my way here more than a couple times, prices on food and drinks were great and the staff was friendly and made sure I never got thirsty. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island as well. Don’t miss it!

An absolutely stunning location with a good beach. The water park is great fun and good value too. We were lucky enough to have Darkwood on our doorstep during our stay in Antigua and we definitely plan to return. The food, drinks and service provided at the beach bar were all really good and reasonably priced too. A great place to stay or visit when on holiday in Antigua!

We stopped here quickly on a Thursday afternoon during our taxi tour of Antigua. Wished we had more time to sit at the bar and swim. They had ice cream and chips for our son. Then we had two different beers and the really fun Tipsy Shots of the day that were adult themed lol. Staff was very, very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. The beach was picture perfect. Super soft sand and gorgeous water. Lots of shaded area if you needed an umbrella.

One of the most nicest beaches on this coast! We ordered Curry Coch and Catch of the Day (snapper). Delicious!!! Really enjoyed our day here! Also, kudos to the artist who made the tables. Very original.

flies swarming around as you ate, afraid to open my mouth to speak! Food questionable. Had fried wings with a sour taste. Obviously I did not eat them. It was the same with my husbands choice. Flies everywhere!! Owner brought the check and said the service charge was not a tip, “government tax”. Table next to us had 2 extra beers on the tab and his entree was miscoded at 5.00 more. Padding the bill. What a disgrace and gives Antiguan people a bad name. I hate thieves
