BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! Came across this place because the original place had a wait time for an hour and I've already traveled an hour to make it to Orland Park. Check and this place wait time was 10 minutes. The moment we were seated the energy/service was top Tier my lovely waitress knows the menu front and back recommendations were on point. Young lady full of positive energy has the start of my birthday feeling great, she's very attentive and prompt. Food is definitely 10/10 will definitely recommend most definitely be back

Okay so this my first time ever leaving a review on any restaurant but this place is amazing 10/10. The customer service was amazing. The woman who took my order was soo sweet and it was another guy who was helping us out his name is Joe. But on top of all of that the food was amazing I definitely will be back!! Loved it

This was not my first visit, but this time I ended up ordering the Birra-Quiles, which is a birria twist on the traditional Mexican breakfast dish chilaquiles. This dish included birria beef, black beans, house tortilla chips, red sauce, avocado, pepperjack cheese, garnished with cilantro, green onion, tomato, house crema, and topped with your choice of two fried eggs. The food came out fairly quickly, roughly 10 mins at most, and it was hot and looked very appetizing. My first impression was how big the portion was. I would say I eat a slightly above average amount of food for someone my size, and I could have easily split this with another one to possibly two people, depending on how hungry everyone was. My second impression was the egg. As you can see in the first photo, it looks like it might be slightly over cooked, but when I broke into the yolk, they were still very runny as ordered and added a rich and creamy layer that tied in with the dish perfectly. With my first bite I was also very impressed with how good the house-made tortilla chips were. They were thicker than the typical tortilla chip, but still very crispy on the outside, with a soft bit of tortilla under the outer shell. Which added a nice texture to the dish. The birria beef and red sauce were a welcomed accompaniment, with the beef being flavorful, moist, and fairly spread throughout, and the sauce adding strong, but not overpowering, slightly spicy, savory, smokey, and earthy flavors to the dish. The house made crema was a great companion to the dish, aiding the egg with its creamy flavor, and also adding a slight tang that helped cut through and balance the other flavors. The cilantro, tomato, avocado, beans, and green onion added nice texture and temperature differences, as well as a refreshing layer to help make the dish feel lighter. Overall, this was a very enjoyable meal, a menu item I would recommend to anyone going to dine at Darlene’s, and something I would definitely order again.

This was a 1st time visit for my wife and I. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and expedient. The atmosphere was clean, bright, and talkative but not noisy. The breakfast menu items seemed different than traditional items, but was quite tasty. Traditional items are available though. My wife enjoyed her waffles and brisket. The waffles were soft in texture, and the brisket & sauce were tasty. I had a Brisket Bowl with the sauces on the side. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of brisket in my bowl. The pancakes were perfect. I would get this meal again. It was actually enough for me to take and have breakfast at home the next day. Lastly, we both tried the Pumpkin Spiced Latte; quite pretty, but we were not fans. However, you must get a donut or dessert. I wanted a Boston Cream donut but they were out. I got the Almond cake; it was good, but my mind was set on the donut. 🤣

Super cute breakfast place. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the French toast w candied pecans, caramel and bananas. Both dishes were delicious. Hayley was our server and was pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu and checked in often. 10/10. Highly recommend!!

This place is SO under-rated! I’ve lived in the area for a long time, and I haven’t heard of it until today. The food looks exactly how the photos are on the website. I got the avocado toast and the waffle flight, and they both tasted so good that I was SPEECHLESS! My server was Sahian, she was so kind, attentive, and very friendly! I will definitely be coming back soon and telling all my friends and family about this spot!! ❤️

If food was an art pallete . Food so pretty you almost don't want to eat it. I had brunch here with my mom. The food was TOP NOTCH! They give you so much to enjoy. Its a perfect atmosphere for a first date, brunch with mom or just catching up with friends. The waitress was friendly and very attentive. The menu items are ala carte. I do wish they provided a typical breakfast combo. Aside from that I have no complaints. I can't wait to eat here again.

The service was very swift, the staff was extremely pleasant and the food was good. We went spontaneously on a Saturday - my 1st time here and my mom's 2nd. We both had lattes: I had an iced brown sugar latte while my mom had a hazelnut latte - both tasted really good and were crafted nicely. I had a 2 egg breakfast and substituted a pancake for the turtle donut. The donut was fine and my disappointment was getting a yeast donut when I was expecting a cake donut (solely because cake is what I've had before with a turtle donut) but the flavor was good. My eggs were cooked exactly like a like them, a soft scramble, and the hashbrown potatoes and sausage links rounded out the meal extremely well. My mom made her own omelette but thought they were a little heavy handed on the cheese. While she loved the breakfast potatoes she was pretty let down that neither her pancake not the syrup was warm. My mom did make our waitress aware of the pancake temp and she was offered a new one but my mom thanked our waitress but declined. All in all, we might be return but it's basically the same menu as another place nearby.

I've heard great things about Darlene's Brunch in Orland Park and finally was able to visit to enjoy. The inside is nicely renovated to play into the modern, magnolia brunch style. I enjoyed that their menu wasn't overwhelming but still had a good variety of options. They make their doughnuts fresh every morning but they are "while supplies last". I visited on a Saturday mid-morning and there was no wait. I started with a latte and the server recommended the Tiramisu Latte if I didn't want anything too sweet. I also got it with almond milk ($1 upcharge) and without whipped cream. It was the perfect morning pick me up coffee! For food, I tried their Biscuits and Gravy. I loved their gravy flavor and the amount they gave to complement the three biscuits. The biscuits themselves tasted like perfect layers of fluffiness. My husband tried the Buenos Dias Skillet which was hearty and savory. He opted to upgrade his side to a Boston Cream doughnut to try. The flavors were good but tasted a bit dried out. My dad customized an omelette which also came with pancakes and another side. My mom was able to upgrade his side to the Cream of Chicken Soup she wanted for only $2 extra. All the food came out with beautiful presentations. We also enjoyed that they leave water carafes at the tables. Overall, this was an enjoyable brunch spot that the area needs. The menu items can be a bit pricey but quality of ingredients are there. Service can be a bit slow but food comes out fast. Definitely enjoyed giving Darlene's a try! Tip: Check out their sister restaurant locations of White Sheep in Orland Park and Naperville. Pro Tip: Check/Join the waitlist off their website before heading over. Helps save time!

My new spot while in Orland for my doctor at Northwestern. It's literally minutes away. Cute spot with WiFi. I was in at about 8 and traffic was light. By the time I left they were almost filled. It's a large restaurant so you know the food is good. I got a brisket skillet. It was delicious and HUGE! I would not get the bbq sauce drizzle next time but I enjoyed the skillet. It is a lot of food! The matcha was delicious and whipped on top just right.

First time here and it was good. Walked in and was instantly greeted by our waitress and sat at a booth for a party of three. Our server, Evelyn was nice and was able to give recommendations as first timers. Table presentation I would give a 3/5 stars. Ketchup was almost empty and salt/pepper shakers were not refilled as they were almost empty as well. We ordered our food and drinks and the server forgot my mother's coffee by the time the food came out, my mom didn't want it any more. Food I give 4/5. The French toast was great and a large portion! However, the omelette was under seasoned and was straight up plain. Server kept checking on us so that was nice as well. Over all environment was cute and welcoming, I would come back.

Sunday afternoon vibes had time to stop in at Darlene's. Quick and friendly staff. Brisket hash was full of flavor. Check out the pastries menu, took a Nutella donut home. Also housemade juice blends. I had a strawberry lemon mint combo that was .

This is a great place to come for brunch. My mom and I decided to stop in last Sunday afternoon around noon. We added ourselves to the waitlist via the tool on Google and were able to track our status. When it came time to be seated, I got a text message and headed right in. The host was very nice. He walked us to our tables, waited until we were seated to place the menu and said our server would be right over. The place was packed, very crowed and loud noise levels. In order to have a decent conversation you too have to raise your voice so others can hear you. They did have open outdoor seating but it was way too hot for that. Our waitress Jill was nice and present. Despite the crowd our food and drinks came out in a reasonable time and the food dishes were hot. I really enjoyed my eggs. They were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. The pancakes were very tasty as well and the berries I added were fresh. I chose to order a side of potatoes but didn't care for them. They had (to me) an excessive amount of chopped onions. I actually asked to swap them out for a different side dish. When I asked you could sense the hesitation from our waitress. She had to get persimmon to do the swap so I'm guessing it's not something they normally do but I appreciate the customer service and accommodation during my visit. If you're in the area I would definitely add Darlene's to your list. Weekend afternoons are pretty crowded so maybe next time I will try to come during the week.

Darlene's is such a cute brunch place and has great service and decent food! I tried the steak HB and thought it was pretty decent however the steak was different from what I was expecting. The maple pecan donut was delicious and all are made by an in house chef daily. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and gives such a vibe. Overall I would definitely return to this location!

Our waitress was absolutely amazing, she had a great sense of humor and was super helpful when it came to explaining the menu. We sat outside on the patio, which had a really nice vibe. The waffle flight was a standout. We couldn't get enough of it! Even though I was full, I kept going back for more. The Veggie House Bowl was packed with flavor, and the strawberry ginger refresher (with alcohol) was incredibly refreshing. When the food is this good, you don't even think about the price, it's worth every penny. Great value all around. I'll definitely be back, and I'll be ordering the exact same things again!

Tried out Darlene's for the first time. The biscoff cookie latte was super yummy! French toast is incredible! My husband dug in before I got a pic. The server we had was phenomenal, had great suggestions. Looking forward to trying some other yummy things off the menu!

Haven't had a breakfast this good in a while! It was our first time here so our waiter helped us out on the menu. She recommended the French toast and/or biscuits and gravy which we ended up ordering both. They were amazing! We don't live around the area so it's a bummer we won't experience this place as much but will definitely try again if ever in the area.

It's my first time here, but after checking out brunch spots in the Orland Park / Tinley Park region, this spot appeared on Google Maps a few times with high reviews. I liked it for a few reasons - the join the waitlist was very helpful for Sunday brunch. After a 30-minute drive, we literally walked in 1 minute before our table was ready. I don't know if this is a "sister" location, but the menu reminds me of The White Sheep in Orland Park - this is a "plus"! Coffee, juice and pastries were plenty. The service is really quick and the bathrooms are clean. My husband really enjoyed his steak sandwich. It featured house garlic bread, tenderloin steak, sweet peppers & bearnaise sauce. I loved the Créme Brûlée doughnut. It actually cracked when you put a knife through it. For my breakfast entree, I had the brisket hash bowl, which included brisket, bacon, red pepper, yellow squash, onion, pepper jack cheese, house roasted potatoes, maple bbq sauce, Jack Daniel's aioli, and scrambled eggs. I really wanted to enjoy this, but I didn't. It was mostly because I was expecting the brisket to be like BBQ brisket, and it was more like corn beef brisket. Also there's BBQ sauce on this as well as eggs... Not the best combination. I would go this place again, but I would choice a different meal.

Like Al Pacino in The Godfather 3, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in". This is what happened to me and Latrice A (fellow Yelper). We were originally going to come here for a Sunday brunch meeting, but decided to go to someplace else we saw on Instagram, could not get into (another story for another time) and ended up driving all the day out to the outer world to eat at Darlene's. Once we walked into the joint, it was pandemonium! There were people everywhere waiting on tables, it was nuts. We were on the waitlist, but decided to try another place nearby and guess what happen: as soon as we left the parking lot, they told us our table was ready. Kind of like waiting on the bus: light a cigarette and one magically shows up. The restaurant itself gave off a diner vibe, but not in a bad way. Lots of tables and a nice size bar off to the side. As you enter into the restaurant, there is a small gaming section to the left. We were fortunately seated at a four-top, near the back of the restaurant. I could see the outdoor seating area...imagine that is a nice space when the weather is warmer. Me and Latrice started out with drinks, because after the morning we had we needed one. She got a Passionfruit Mimosarita, which was very interesting. A combination of a mimosa and margarita, it sounded intriguing and Latrice said it was very nice. I got a Strawberry mimosa, which had mashed strawberries at the bottom of the glass. It was very good, but the strawberry they used as a garnish was on the brown side. My second drink was Passionfruit Mimosarita and that was way better an tastier. For eats, we both got the skillets: the Veggie HB (Broccoli, yellow squash, zucchini, feta cheese, mushroom, bell pepper, avocado ranch, house roasted potatoes, fried eggs) and the Brisket HB (brisket, bacon, red pepper, yellow squash, onion, pepper jack cheese, house roasted potatoes, maple bbq sauce, Jack Daniel's aioli, eggs over easy for me). My skillet was very good, but I would have to say that the next time I will request no Jack Daniel's aioli as it was a little too sweet for me. There was a lot of food in my skillet, so much so, that while I thought I had eaten half of it, once I requested a to go box, I realized I had a whole meal in that box. The Doctor ended up having it for dinner the next day, In addition to the skillet, we both got the French Toast: mine with strawberries and cream cheese and Latrice's with bananas and salted caramel. Think they were using brioche bread as the pieces were thick. Our server was really nice and chatty and we had a fun time. Chatted with some customers behind us as they overheard me discussing that my b-day had been the couple of days ago and they wished a happy one. Table next to us also did the same thing, which was nice. Location is so far away for me since I live in the city. But I would be willing to make a trip back there again later in the year. Just have to plan the drive accordingly.

Second time coming in and was great again. Cute spot with fresh donuts and french toast. Service was good and fast. Great drink options for those who don't drink and for those that do. Would definitely recommend making a reservation and coming in early.

I came in on a Saturday morning, no wait and they were busy. It seems like they do a nice job keeping up with the weekend rush. They took our order quickly and the food came out fast. Service was friendly. My salted caramel latte was delicious. I really liked the biscuits and gravy with two eggs added. It was enough for two meals. The gravy was so flavorful. I would definitely get this meal again. Biscuits are really big and I don't think they need that much dough, but I still enjoyed them. Adding eggs is a must in my opinion. I really like the decor. I will definitely come back!

Came here on a weekend and it was like 15 mins wait but was able to get a table. Tried their buenos dias house bowl with no meat and upgraded the side to Nutella French toast with cream and it was delicioussss! Their service was great too. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great food- really good gravy on the biscuits and gravy but if I were going to be cortical I would say the gravy to biscuit ratio should be 2:1 I stead of 1:1 (more gravy) everything else was stellar

This restaurant was a great spot for a high quality breakfast meal. The building itself was very modern and well kept and seating was great as well. I ordered the one of their lattes, a donut, and the brisket breakfast skillet. They all tasted great, and the skillet portion was huge. The service was excellent as well, everyone was very friendly and polite. Overall, I thought that this was a very well run business with incredible food!

While visiting Chicago, I had the pleasure of checking out Darlene's. I ordered the strawberry cream cheese French toast meal along with the spritz featuring dragon fruit. The food was absolutely delicious. What really stood out was their bakery section it looked incredible! Since Darlene's is known for its pastries, it was no surprise that everything on looked really good. I'll definitely have to go back to try some of their baked goods next time.

Exceptional! This was my first visit but not the last. On a Sunday morning, there's a rush of people dining in and taking out. As a party of 1, I got to sit at the bar next to the kitchen, without wait. This was an amazing view of the kitchen, seeing all the delicious meals made. The person who was over the kitchen, and all the staff are extremely efficient. They have a system and it works to provide fast and quality service/food. The latte is one to remember!! Huge parking lot and ample seating with a nice ambiance. Other patrons at the bar were so kind, 1 was also a first timer and another was a re-rounder. The menu could expand to include more dishes made for people who don't eat beef, pork or any meat.

This place is top drawer! The food is excellent -unique and so flavorful! It was very busy as we visited on Saturday at lunch time. But, we were seated quickly, our waitress was spot on in service and patient, even though it was crazy busy. Very good and lots of yummy desserts! Would definitely recommend and we already want to come back!

Hubby and I came for breakfast. We were greeted with a warm welcome upon entering and waited for a couple of minutes for a booth. The ambiance is open and pleasant. We both ordered the Egg breakfast. Hubby ordered his with pancakes, I got wheat toast, and we both added bacon. Breakfast was delicious. Their roasted potatoes are seasoned well and hubby really liked the pancakes. Their donuts and cakes looked decadent. Next time we come, we will try one of them!

Perfect place for brunch after an all night of partying with the Girls! The service was good but server was not as attentive as we liked. Manager did come by and chatted with us to make sure everything was to our liking. She did accommodate us when we stated our issue. Food was awesome, cooked to perfection. I see myself visiting soon. Oan, those baked good are to die for!

We went to Darlene's for brunch a few Saturdays ago and had a great first time experience. Great service, food, large portions and good drinks.

Was on the hunt for a breakfast spot nearby. Darlene's showed up. I ordered the brisket bites. Brisket and slaw over mini waffles. They were delicious. Didn't need any syrup. I also had scrambled eggs with cheese on the side. Darlene's is a large restaurant. There is plenty of space so that people aren't all on top of you. There also seems to be a good number of servers. Darlene's turned out to be a good distance from my house, but I will keep them in mind if I am in the Orland Park vicinity.

Darlene's never disappoints! Great ambiance, service and food. Enjoyed a delicious birthday brunch. It was such a beautiful Friday afternoon that we elected eat outdoors.

Wed a place to eat brunch or breakfast you don't need to look any further than Darlene's. This place was right on time for a brunch spot in the busy morning and shopping around you have this restaurant in the middle. I was able to go into the restaurant and get great service by my waitress. The food was very fast to come to the table. I was able to order a tasty brisket bowl with a side of pancakes. My pancakes were so big that they were bigger than my plate. I enjoyed my time spent at the restaurant and I will say the aesthetics had me feeling like it was spring in the winter.

The Smoothie is disgusting and don't bother telling them they won't help you by switching it to something else maybe eggsperts down the street I'm sure they'll take care of you better

This was my first time at Darlene's and I had great experience. The service was great! The waitress was attentive, had good suggestions and feedback and made sure our order was perfect. The restaurant is bright and airy with an sunroom in the morning feel to it. The food was fresh, well executed and exactly how I ordered it. I wanted to try the avocado toast but I wanted it deconstructed. I ordered it this way because I noticed the portions were large and I would be taking some home. I didn't want my bread to get soggy, so I ordered everything to come out individually. I also ordered a fried egg and turkey bacon to add protein to my meal. One of my favorite parts of the meal was the pistachio latte. I ordered it iced with Almond milk and whip cream. It was smooth, creamy and topped my brunch off nicely.

Just got brunch there. I ordered the avocado toast and eggs Benedict. The toast was way bigger than I expected. That might as well be an entree. No complaints on that though. It was very delicious. My eggs Benedict was perfect too! Beautifully soft poached eggs over the ham and English muffin. The hollandaise was super creamy and yummy. Our server, Alex, was so helpful and attentive. He's definitely my go to server from now on. I'm sorry I didn't have my phone at the time so I don't have photos. I'll get them next time.

This place is so good. I wasn't a big fan of the potatoes because they tasted a bit greasy, but the breakfast bagel was amazing as well as their lattes! Our server was so kind and attentive. The restaurant itself is so cute.

This used to be the Sheep's Food District owned by the Pappa's brothers who also run The White Sheep n LaGrange. They were forced to rename it last year from Delilah's:-) I like it better than the district theme, and with better food. My wife didn't like the coffee and donuts, but I thought the donuts were yummy. Portions may look smaller in pictures, but they are decent and the pricing may appear a tad high, but I think inline. Service was great and speedy at lunch time on a weekday.

We stopped here because my mom's name is Darlene. We were not disappointed! The environment is airy & inviting. The staff is very service oriented and attentive to your needs. The food is exceptional but make sure to save room for one of their delicious donuts!!

It was super busy today so I suggest a reservation if possible. We waited about 30 minutes but it was worth waiting for. The food was great and the portion is bigger than they look in pictures. Almost think I should have just shared my skillet with someone. Got a few different items but everyone enjoyed and had leftovers :)

They did a nice job with this place! It's comfortable and really nice inside. Our server was funny and really good she checked on us a lot and just made sure we had everything. The menu is priced little higher than I'd like but the food was good. I went with the breakfast waffle bites and got a side of hash browns. A lot to choose from. Worth a try and also the donuts are very very good.

Great food, good coffee! Would have been perfect had they served their drinks and glasses instead they use plastic cups, which was fine but I do enjoy a good glass cup.

We decided to dine here because of how cute the aesthetic was and the reviews. Our service was fine, not the best but not bad. The food was very disappointing. I had the brisket breakfast bowl, from the description it sounds very tasty, and we both was very hungry. The meat tasted Smokey but didn't really have much flavor to it. I guess I'm Used to having brisket finely shredded and not that thick cut. My friend had the birra-quiles, she felt the same way her food. It looks good but upon eating the meat didn't taste so good. We just think they use cheap meat, it just didn't taste right period! It was very disappointing we were literally looking forward to this.

My wife and I wanted to try this place because of the reviews and it's close to the house. The inside is very nice and bright, clean too. They offer breakfast and brunch and have a full bar for drinks, and a barista for all the coffees you desire. Their menu is not traditional diner food but modern and upscale. Prices reflect the available coffee and alcohol bar. The egg and omelet choices are smaller than I would like but my omelet was tasty and I would get it again. My wife had avocado toast. It was a lot and she loved it. I wanted corned beef hash, but alas, it wasn't on the menu. In the end, I think this place rocks for a crowd that loves a fancy coffee drink, a bloody may or a mimosa with their meal. I would go back but probably only with our daughter.

First time here, we had some mixed drinks and brunch. Everything was ok, too saucy and too much cheese. The waffle flight was ok as well, too much of the same custard on all waffles. Prices were just like everywhere else.

If you like Brunch food, this is the place to go. The place is decent and clean. The food is well made. The beverage is good too. I like the fresh orange juice, so delicious. The ambience is a bit noisy so be prepared. This is not the place to go if you want to dine in peace. The service is standard and that is why I give this place a nice 4 stars.

Tremendous breakfast for foodies. Everything here is homemade by artisan chef's and it shows in presentation and flavor. Even their coffee is roasted on premises and it's fantastic.

The first time we came here i really enjoyed the food. This time I didn't really care for it. I got a ham, cheese, green pepper and onion omelette and veggies were very crunchy. Some people may like that though. I picked around them. My husband got a steak and cheese omelette and the steak had no flavor and tasted rewarmed. The donut pastry was dry and had a flavor i didn't care for. The waitress was very friendly and attentive though. Maybe it was just an off day.

Attentive server.. Interesting, creative menu.. Reasonable prices.. Lively (loud sometimes) atmosphere that encouraged me to visit during slower business hours...perhaps sound-absorbing ceiling tiles?? Will return, though..

We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Eggs Benedict with tomato instead of ham, turkey bacon, an omelette with jalapeño, mushroom, green peppers, cheddar, and a side of sliced tomatoes, steak and eggs with green peppers and no potatoes, Nutella crepe, Nutella and cream, and an omelette with extra cheese. While the Eggs Benedict didn't look particularly appealing to me (I didn't try it and didn't feel the need to complain since the rest of the meal was good), every other dish was fantastic. The omelette with jalapeño and veggies was fresh and flavorful, and the steak and eggs were cooked just right. The Nutella crepe was a highlight, perfectly indulgent without being overly sweet. What truly stood out was the service. Our server was attentive, arriving quickly to take our order, which was promptly placed. The kitchen also moved efficiently, ensuring we didn't have to wait long for our food, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Despite the Eggs Benedict not being to my liking, the combination of good food and excellent service will definitely bring me back.

I recently visited Darlene's for breakfast with a group of friends. We immediately fell in love with the ambiance and the fact it wasn't just another breakfast joint. The menu looked so good we decided to share all our meals. What I didn't appreciate was the hostess coming over and telling she needed our table. We were paying customers (4 meals, fancy coffee, plus sides and pastries) with an automatic tip added to our bill because we had 5 people. We also tipped the waitress another $20 on top of that because we had talked so much at the beginning and weren't ready to order. So as a paying customer, I feel we earned our time at that table.

Big place, seated quickly. Service was fine, the waitress asked if we wanted another round of drinks, we said yes and she took a cocktail off the table before it was finished without asking. Food and drinks are not cheap, but you do get big portions. It was tasty, appreciate the gluten free options available. They push their pastries, but I saw they fry them in peanut oil, be cautious if you have an allergy.
