We had an amazing tasting with Thomas Darling in Sonoma. He was fantastic at describing each wine and the wine was even Better!

Popped in without a reservation and had a lovely time trying these lean, aromatic, and European-style wines. The rose the finest I’ve had in California with bright acidity and notes of white nectarine and rhubarb. An unoaked Chardonnay reminiscent of Chablis. Well-done!

So glad we stumbled upon this tasting room! Tucked away in a cute courtyard by the central Sonoma square. Johanna was an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable host. She made our trip to Sonoma memorable! The wines themselves were elegant and complex - and all natural. The tasting room is dog friendly too 🐕

Walked in on a whim today as a harvest intern looking to taste through the lineup as these wines are a stark contrast to some of the over extracted and over oaked wines that can sometimes be common. Rachel did a great job with the tasting and these are super interesting, fresh, fun wines at low ABV that are perfect for crushing on the summer. Super low production means these are hard to find but I look forward to getting my hands on some more in the future. Highly recommended.

Easily my favorite wines I've tasted while in Sonoma, even compared to some big names. Tom Darling, the winemaker, let's the grapes and the terroir shine. Each one is unique. Really incredible stuff.

Tom and Ashley Darling and their team are simply the best - they are exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about their wines... their enthusiasm is infectious, and they go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and well-informed. I took my parents and their friends to the tasting room in Sonoma and we had the best time! Both couples joined the wine club and have had dinner parties since centered around their Darling wine shipments. Thank you for a wonderful time! The team is welcome to Texas anytime!

Lovely small tasting room off the square. The wines are delicious -- the Gamay Noir had hints of cherry and so light! Also really love the Pinot Gris! Both are perfect summer wines. We met Tom the owner who was so nice and charming. He explained all of wines, and told the story of how he and his wife started the winery. Also, loved the story of the Vietnam veteran's vineyard and the story of how they began making olive oil. This tasting room is DEFINITELY worth a stop.

Such lovely wine and also a cozy tasting room. Tom and Ashley have really gone out of their way to create an experience for the visitor. They now have olive oil and coffee beans with a Darling label as well. If you’d like to support small independent family owned winery’s with family owned partnerships that farm with intention and respect please stop by the Darling tasting room and see for yourself. Oh, and join the wine club. You won’t regret it.

Yelp
We were looking to do a super quick tasting so we decided we'd stop in and share one at the first tasting room we saw. After passing by a few wine bars, we saw a sign for a tasting room down an alleyway, went down it and didn't see the one the sign listed, but we alas we found Darling Wines! While we were told that they don't usually allow people to share tastings, they knew we were in a hurry to meet some family so they let us do it. The tasting was $40 and came with 4 wines, 3 of which were pinots when we tasted. The pours were a good size and allowed us to both be able to taste the wines. They waived the tasting fee with a 2 bottle purchase, which we ended up doing. Since we were in a hurry we didn't get to learn as much about the winery as we usually like to, but we were still given as much info about each wine as we had time for!

Yelp
Amazing wines and great service from Tom Darling. A lovely small batch vintner. Every wine was extremely well presented. From the Chardonnay, the Pinot, to the Syrah, all perfectly balanced, delicate and complex at the same time. If you've got one place to do a wine tasting while in Sonoma, do yourself a favor and hit up Darling wines!!
