Das Achental Resort (Grassau, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Between Salzburg and Munich, in the Chiemgau region of Upper Bavaria, between the Chiemsee lake and the Kampenwand peaks, is the town of Grassau, which is the setting for Das Achental, a perfect representative of modern-rustic Bavarian hospitality. The architecture retains its historical charm, while the rooms and suites update the classic materials with ultra-modern bathrooms and a contemporary design sense. An expansive spa and wellness program and an 18-hole golf course are among the diversions, while the culinary offerings include hearty classic Bavarian fare and a beer garden as well as a gastronomic restaurant worthy of three MICHELIN Stars." - Tablet Hotels

It was a really wonderful stay. I do have a few things. I was hoping for more of a spa setting, with a hottub and steam room. I wasn’t looking to go through the gym for a sauna. For me the indoor pool was a little too chilly. I will also say the rooms are pricey and also the cost to play golf. That said, my husband loved the course. The buffet breakfast was absolutely incredible- I’d go back just for the breakfast. Rooms have A.C. I will say, I do look forward to the next visit.

This is nice huge estate. Location is a bit middle of nowhere. There is outdoor parking, also charging stations available.|We had a great corner room. It was big, spacious bathroom, separate toilet, good shower. Good bed.|Good breakfast, but too little personnel; it took a while to order coffee, then we didn’t have cups…|5 good saunas but walking there was through the gym.|Restaurant Essenz was perfect!

We were curious to see the Achental as one of Motel One Founder Dieter Müller's three luxury hotels. The others are the Kitzhof in Kitzbühel and the Chiemgauhof at Lake Chiemsee. Achental is the least expensive. It did not dissappoint. The interior of the public areas is very similar to Kitzhof, high level design furniture. Food is excellent. Swimming pools outdoor and indoor. Large gardens. Easy access from Munich - Salzburg highway.

The hotel is a nice’ clean hotel in a beautiful area. More importantly, the food was exceptional and I can easily say that with the breakfast, lunch and dinner it is one of the best I have come across at a hotel. Well done and many thanks. Well managed and maintained!

Spent four days here and the ambience is quite calming. This hotel lets you get away from the hustle and bustle. The scenery is soothing, the dining options are excellent, the wellness center is fairly large with dumbbells up to 20 kg. Two pools are both nice. We enjoyed a barbecue at the back cottage as well as the driving range while here. The service and staff are very friendly.
