Das Bodmi

It has one of the most breathtaking views in all of Switzerland. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, especially our waiter Peter, who was friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was excellent. We had a delicious Wiener Schnitzel and a fantastic hamburger, both cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

While I didn’t stay at the hotel itself, I had the pleasure of dining at its restaurant—and it was truly exceptional. The atmosphere was refined yet welcoming, the service polished, and the cuisine absolutely impeccable. Every detail, from presentation to flavour, reflected a high standard of excellence. If the rest of the hotel mirrors the quality and elegance of its dining experience, it must be a remarkable place to stay. I highly recommend a visit to the restaurant—it’s a hidden gem well worth experiencing.

We have been so fortunate to spend 5 nights here at Das Bodmi. Such a wonderful hotel in a truly spectacular location. We had a family suite which was comfortably large enough for myself, my husband and two daughters (15 & 12) who slept on comfy sofa beds (2 separate single beds). The room we had was traditional decor and incredibly clean. It also had a lovely, large south facing balcony with stunning views to the Eiger and surrounding mountains. The hotel is a short walk into Grindelwald - with a very steep walk back up to the hotel. There's a bus service that runs 2x an hour but stops after 6. In our view it is by far the best location in Grindelwald for the views, peace and tranquility. The food in the restaurant is absolutely superb! We don't usually eat in a hotel every night but the food was so good and there was no other location that could match the views!! The staff are helpful and accommodating and particularly so Peter and Saskia. Thank you so much - we have truly loved our stay!

I wish I stayed at this hotel but truth is I only dined at their restaurant, but lord their food is just simply too good that I have to leave this review. The food material quality, the cooking, the decoration details, the service and the wine are all of high quality. If you are not able to book a stay here like me, simply having a dinner here won’t disappoint you. Salute to the chef and the owner for having such a great restaurant in this small village. Ciao!

From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely perfect—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented at every meal. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into each dish. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable and at home. Their hospitality made a real difference. And as dog lovers, we were thrilled that our furry friend was welcomed with open arms. It’s not always easy to find a place that treats pets like part of the family, but Das Bodmi really gets it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable experience in the mountains.❤️

We stopped in for a beer and Peter greeted us with incredible service. We ended up with dinner drinks dessert and finished with the best rum we’ve ever had. Huge plus Peter said we could look outside and may see a rainbow and sure enough there it was. What an amazing night thank you Peter for the great experience.

The view from our junior suite with a 2 sided balcony (facing the mountain) was amazing. Also, being away from the crowd in the town while enjoying the peace of the view kept us relaxed and stress free. We'd walk into town early morning and enjoy hikes and higher adventures till early afternoon and then come back to the beautiful view. The food in the restaurant was terrific so we never felt the need to go back to town to eat at night. The hotel staff was both helpful and hospitable. It was hard to give this up to leave for home. Expect crowds in Grindelwald. Hotel Bodmi made the 3 day stay a haven.

Peter was our waiter and was hands down the best host we’ve had in all of Switzerland! Amazing experience all the way around. You will not be disappointed if you get Peter serving you at the Bodi restaurant, you are in for a treat! Thanks again for the wonderful time Peter!

We dropped in for food. The food was fantastic - tender lamb, sweet veggies and mouth watering fettucine. The owners are incredible - they drove us to the train station so we could catch the last train.

Very sophisticated food - surprising to me in such a small village. Excellent flavors and high quality food. Expensive, but it is Switzerland after all. Would come back to this restaurant.
