Das Regina Boutiquehotel Bad Gastein, a Design Boutique Hotel Badgastein, Austria

"The newly opened Hotel Das Regina is a trendy boutique hotel in the centre of Bad Gastein, only a 2-minute walk away from the casino and the waterfall. Das Regina offers individually designed rooms with traditional, retro-style bathrooms. Most rooms have a balcony or a terrace and offer panoramic views of the nearby mountains. The spa area features a sauna, a steam bath, a hot tub, a thermal pool, and a relaxation room. The restaurant serves Italian and Austrian cuisine. Italian coffee and homemade pastries are served at the Regina Bar. A lounge area with an open fireplace is next to the bar. Hotel Das Regina also has its own small cinema. Wi-Fi access is free of charge in public areas. The Stubnerkogelbahn cable car is about 300 metres away. The ski bus stop is 50 metres away from Das Regina." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Das Regina Boutiquehotel Bad Gastein (Bad Gastein, Austria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Austria, feisty? Seems so: more and more, we’re seeing the “urban soul” mantra take firm root in the frigid Alps. Something to do with adventure junkies, we’re sure, but not to worry — at Das Regina, for one, the venerable grand-hotel, après-ski culture isn’t yet through. Thank Olaf Krone for that; with help from Nora Witzigmann in partnership with Patrick Timm, he reinvented this Italian masterwork in his image, imbuing its Belle Époque bones with much-needed cosmopolitan flair." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed 3 nights here in January, and found all staff to be very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms can be a little dark, and ours had a light fitting which appeared to be dangling by a thread! But caused us no issues. Maybe just a few upgrades/touch-ups in places would help give a more newer, fresher feel to the hotel. The Sauna and steam room is free for guests, which is a massive added bonus and we found it quiet and very clean, with everytbing you need. Highlight of each day was the breakfast; fresh bread, coffee, eggs, fruit. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've experienced. The views from the bar/restaurant is also beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Stayed over Chritsmas, will not go back. Just be aware that many things explicitly shown on the pictures don't actually work (e.g. TV, the central fireplace, sauna). The rooms are ok, but badly insulated and sometimes the hot water doesn't work. During breakfast they try to serve the old bread until someone says something. Ultimately all small issues - if properly adressed or even just excused with a smile. However, the manager has been incredibly rude, completely disregarding anything I said, even threatening to throw us out of the hotel on Christmas day. Just shows lack of empathy and hotel management skills imo. Other staff was friendly but cannot do anything without consulting the boss Olaf. Even without the personal insult there's not enough value for money. Decide if you want to be a cheep and cheerful 'Pension' (B&B) or a Boutiquehotel (but then you have to deliver). The place has potential but needs to be managed better.

What a delightful hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was great and the bar tender makes a really good cocktail. Lovely little spa downstairs and cinema room. Great location to slopes and overall a really lovely place. I'd definitely recommend.

Pleasant hotel with nice boutique style, though the room showed some signs of wear and could use renovation in places. The restaurant was lovely with beautiful views and good food. Great facilities for cyclists with bike storage available. The sauna was an excellent bonus and much appreciated after a day of travel. Overall a good stay with some nice amenities despite the room needing updates.

My stay at Das Regina Boutique Hotel was excellent. The service is outstanding, with smiling and friendly staff who make you feel welcome. The hotel is very clean, offers fair prices, and is set in an excellent location. A perfect choice for comfort, value, and warm hospitality.

Just the most relevant thinks:|- restaurant is nice, food is average. With one exception when it was above average . Very nice personnel!!|- if the hotel is fully booked with skiers no room for boots and skis |- the bathroom is stinky, sewage smells all day, if window kept open you can feel like going to toilet in the woods in the winter. Not pleasant when having a shower. |- going for a bath with exchange clothes…. better not , no hook or a hanger. It was a bar where the toiletry bag was hanged. It was removed and the toiletry bag was put in bidé. I had a discussion with receptionist and the housekeeper. |- bathroom door opening is a concert of technical noise |- the same sewage odor in the toilet near the restaurant |- house keeping is random and if the toilet paper finished you have to ask from the receptionist|- breakfast average but very crowded around the plates when the hotel is fully booked. ||So, in general is acceptable if no high standards. Feels like at country side in a parvenue accommodation.

Lovely views, terrible food and extortionate prices. Tiniest lift in the world, barely fits my left toe.. the food options were dire - the one veggie meal on the menu turned out not to be veggie. Charged €52 for 3 drinks. Ultimately, the hotel itself was very nice BUT not good for anyone on a budget, that is if you plan on drinking or eating whilst on your trip...
