Das Tegernsee (Tegernsee, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Situated on the subalpine slopes of the German town that bears the same name is Das Tegernsee, luxury hotel and spa. Split into five separate “houses,” each with its own distinct architectural style, the hotel offers aesthetic choices ranging from the clean lines and colors of traditional valley life to the soft and spacious opulence of a world-class chalet. Each house draws inspiration from the region, incorporating elements of the surrounding woods and mountains into its design and furnishing. The spa and pool, offering a wellness program “for body and soul,” is one of the hotel’s big draws; to complement the commitment to relaxation, dining options include a tavern and a biergarten, as well as a more formal restaurant serving local classics. It’s a fine starting point for outdoor adventures, including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, boating, and more." - Tablet Hotels

Review for Hotel DAS TEGERNSEE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) A beautiful hotel in an exceptional location overlooking the lake — truly stunning views. The spa is excellent, offering top-quality facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. My room was quiet and very comfortable, with a great bed ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast was perfect, with a wide selection and high-quality ingredients. Only minor point: the coffee could be better. Overall, an outstanding stay elegant, peaceful, and worth every visit.

Das Tegernsee Tegernsee, Germany May-June 2025 On our second visit to Tegernsee in June of 2025, we selected Das Tegernsee because of its location and the Spa/Sauna area. The hotel is high on a hillside above the town and has a great view of the lake. It is also close to shops and small restaurants and the fun Cloister biergarten along the lake. Although the walk is fairly steep, it is an easy walk down, but not so much easy on the way back up. We walked to town, but took an inexpensive taxi with our bags up the hill from the train station on arrival and on departure. The hotel has multiple buildings; each has something of a different vibe. We selected the Waldburg building, partially because it is newer, with a more modern vibe, but mostly because of its immediate proximity to the spa area. We were only a few doors from the Spa. The buildings are all interconnected by passageways. Our room faced the lake and had a sitting area and a balcony. It was modern, well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The room was very quiet even with the balcony doors open. We asked for a fan and that improved air circulation and provided some white noise. One observation is that outlets for charging devices were not particularly evident or convienent. Our trip was wellness and spa focused and the Spa did not disappoint. Located in a separate building, the spa included a nice indoor pool with a passage to an outdoor pool with loungers. A large, well-appointed and very quiet relaxation room has loungers and access to the pool and sauna area. The textile-free sauna and showers were clean, well maintained and not busy. We were there mid-week. The very large panoramic sauna is separate as well. It is new and has a fabulous view of the lake. We attended several Aufguss sessions that were attended by 10-12 guests. The Aufguss Master did a great job each session and provided frozen berries, ice and fresh fruit. Outdoor showers and a large private sundeck with lounges and umbrellas are next to the Sauna with a great view of the lake. We enjoyed the breakfast selections and restaurant selections were very good. Service was professional and unobtrusive. All of our expectations for a Spa experience, a good quiet room, cleanliness and service were met or exceeded. We will revisit this relaxing property.

A wonderful and cozy hotel located in a picturesque area with a beautiful view of the lake. Very quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the spa with heated pools and a panoramic terrace — the heated pools were a very pleasant touch. The staff were polite and friendly. Room cleaning also deserves high praise. And of course, the hotel restaurant is worth mentioning — a great breakfast and dinner menu with a stunning view of the lake. There is parking available, which is important for those arriving by car.

I had an amazing stay here! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always making me feel welcome. The breakfast was outstanding with plenty of variety and delicious options. The hotel itself is very quiet, which made it perfect for a relaxing stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

We spent two lovely nights at Tegernsee. The service was great, but one could tell that some staff are the true experts and some are rather fresh. Nothing bad about that, everybody has to start somewhere and learn. Spa was nice and not overcrowded (I had two Sauna sessions in the big Panorama Sauna just by myself followed by a great massage). If I want to critise, I was missing a cold plunge to make the experience picture perfect. I cannot confirm the many negative reviews here. Breakfast was great and dinner at restaurant was okay. There are better options down in the village. Staff was always friendly and attentive. The location and views are stunning and we always got great tables in the restaurant and sunbeds in the Spa. My only complaint are the rooms. Our room was just a bit too small for that price and there was no air conditioning. Also too many people smoking on balconies or even in the restaurant terrace during breakfast & dinner. All in all a solid stay, but somewhat on the overpriced side (especially the room, a bit the dinner, 20€ for the breakfast is a great deal on the other hand). I guess that's what the village & clientele bring with them.

I booked my stay directly on the hotel’s website, trusting the reputation and the 5-star standard. The infrastructure is truly remarkable: the buildings are splendid, tastefully decorated, and the view over Tegernsee is unforgettable.||Unfortunately, the service was far from 5-star quality. I arrived after 10 PM and was left completely on my own — no valet parking, no staff assistance with luggage, even though my room was on the second floor with no elevator. Staff on duty did not speak English, making the arrival even more difficult.||Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful dining room that perfectly reflects the grandeur of the hotel. But with only two staff for many guests, service was slow and supervisors stood by without helping.||The room itself was spacious and well-equipped with all expected amenities (iron, board, bathrobe, slippers). It was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable.||Overall, this is a hotel to choose for its architecture, views, and comfort — but not if you expect attentive, professional service. For couples or families who value design, it may still be enjoyable. But business travelers, or anyone expecting international 5-star standards, should be prepared for disappointment.|👉 Warning: don’t expect service that matches the beauty of the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Das Tegernsee this weekend. The hospitality was excellent, and the region itself is breathtaking—surrounded by spectacular nature and hiking trails that make it a perfect retreat.

I stayed here for a large evening event with more than one hundred attendants. Management, staff and food quality were excellent. I even got a good parking spot. It was a wonderful evening. Can certainly recommend this place. If you are a cigar smoker like me, staying overnight at Egerner Höfe or Überfahrt on the other side of the lake will allow you to smoke in their beautiful inside lounges.

Yelp
Could not be more beautiful and the restaurant and the welcome were spectacular. Nice access to the spa and gym from all rooms. Note there is no lift so allow the porter to take your bags. The bar does not open till 7 pm but I think drinks can be ordered from the reception before 7. My only misgiving was I left Fortum and Mason Chocolates from London for my grandmother in the fridge. I forgot to collect them and called and hour after check out to see if they could be found. I guess house-keeping did an exhaustive clean as they were nowhere to be found. I Just would have thought such a nice place as that would have risen to a higher standard.
