Das Tegernsee (Tegernsee, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Situated on the subalpine slopes of the German town that bears the same name is Das Tegernsee, luxury hotel and spa. Split into five separate “houses,” each with its own distinct architectural style, the hotel offers aesthetic choices ranging from the clean lines and colors of traditional valley life to the soft and spacious opulence of a world-class chalet. Each house draws inspiration from the region, incorporating elements of the surrounding woods and mountains into its design and furnishing. The spa and pool, offering a wellness program “for body and soul,” is one of the hotel’s big draws; to complement the commitment to relaxation, dining options include a tavern and a biergarten, as well as a more formal restaurant serving local classics. It’s a fine starting point for outdoor adventures, including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, boating, and more." - Tablet Hotels

We spent two lovely nights at Tegernsee. The service was great, but one could tell that some staff are the true experts and some are rather fresh. Nothing bad about that, everybody has to start somewhere and learn. Spa was nice and not overcrowded (I had two Sauna sessions in the big Panorama Sauna just by myself followed by a great massage). If I want to critise, I was missing a cold plunge to make the experience picture perfect. I cannot confirm the many negative reviews here. Breakfast was great and dinner at restaurant was okay. There are better options down in the village. Staff was always friendly and attentive. The location and views are stunning and we always got great tables in the restaurant and sunbeds in the Spa. My only complaint are the rooms. Our room was just a bit too small for that price and there was no air conditioning. Also too many people smoking on balconies or even in the restaurant terrace during breakfast & dinner. All in all a solid stay, but somewhat on the overpriced side (especially the room, a bit the dinner, 20€ for the breakfast is a great deal on the other hand). I guess that's what the village & clientele bring with them.

I stayed here for a large evening event with more than one hundred attendants. Management, staff and food quality were excellent. I even got a good parking spot. It was a wonderful evening. Can certainly recommend this place. If you are a cigar smoker like me, staying overnight at Egerner Höfe or Überfahrt on the other side of the lake will allow you to smoke in their beautiful inside lounges.

Overall a lovely hotel with breathtaking view of the lake. A little expensive taking into account there is no air conditioning and the bathroom shower head was broken. The staff does not seem to know the region well and overall the service is lacking and rather cold. Very warm massage room on a hot summer day, massage therapist was not experienced , although spa facilities are excelent.

Everything about our stay here was incredible. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and very easy to communicate with (we're English speaking). Everything was so clean and well maintained and the buffet breakfast was amazing.||We unfortunately had flight delays and had to change our original booking with Das Tegernsee. They were very easy to deal with and changed the dates without a problem.||As for the location, it is a slice of heaven. Such beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and lake.||Our only disappointment is that we couldn't stay longer!

The staff was extremely professional. They were able to assist us with any questions and requests we had with thought and kindness. Arguably one of the best staff we have ever had for a hotel. Shout out to Holly, Uwe, and Anton. The location is prime since it is on the East side of the lake, very elevated, so you get every sunset there. Absolutely breathtaking sunset. All rooms are not created equal. We were fortunate to stay in the "Alpen Chalets". Could not have asked for a better room and view of the lake. Will 100% stay in the Alpen Chalets again. The facilities are prime. Top notch spa with the spa staff being very kind and helpful as well. The hotel offers bike rentals, which we used for a day ride around the lake. I recommend renting their E bikes since the hills are not made for rookie bike riders like myself, who rented a mountain bike. So beware of that. The breakfast was fantastic. Great variety and quality. We had dinner at the restaurant 3 times and you will get your value for what you pay. I absolutely recommend it. There are hiking paths directly around the hotel, so if you are into hiking, your experience becomes much easier. There are two main paths to get to the hotel, one of the main road, and one is a side walking path that you take just to the train station. Both are steep incline walking, so be cautious. But the incline is not that far. Overall, we definitely plan on coming back. The experience was that memorable.

Great view and real estate. Service below expectations. Overall the hotel feels cold without a human touch. Disorganised breakfast with people trying to catch waiters to get a coffee. Very long wait times for lunch and dinner. This has the potential to be a 5 star property but currently not living up to expectations.

I first came across DAS TEGERNSEE by chance two years ago while walking past the hotel. Even though I wasn’t a guest, the receptionist was super friendly and recommended a great hiking trail nearby, which left a really good impression. This year, I decided to come back to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was such a great experience. After our hike, we got back to find our luggage already in the room, along with a handwritten birthday card and a chilled bottle of Sekt Brut—such a thoughtful touch! The outdoor pool and panoramic sauna were the perfect way to relax after a long hike, with amazing views that made it even better. Dinner at the hotel’s historic restaurant was wonderful, but the real highlight of the night was the white chocolate passion fruit cake. The balance of fresh, fruity sourness and light chocolate sweetness was just perfect!

Had booked a room with Lake view, 2nd floor Tegernsee Building, then it came out the room has from the inside 10 cm width lake view.||The Director, instead of offering a solution, he advised us a more expensive room with indeed lake view, for EUR 100 extra per night, "nice" gesture .... in fact he did not offer anything!||The bill was paid in advance and when checking out they asked for another EUR 9 for ... "energy/electricity" used in the room?? was not on the bill that was paid before nor mentioned anywhere ... and is money for the hotel for the energy consumption, not for the city nor the state. Then asked whether they would give money back for internet et al not working ...||Breakfast is a nightmare: No sheet on the table, you eat on the raw wood that is hardly cleaned from the previous client, for sure no sanitizing spray used for invalidating for food contact surfaces. The director is acting as doing a favour going to the kitchen for dark bread, the staff throws the coffee on the table, does not say hello, nor good morning. They do not ask whether you want a fresh egg from the kitchen and look worried if you ask saying "of course". The floor looks like a pig stall, especially as some other cultures sit in shorts, throw all the food on the floor, which is not cleaned promptly. In the fruit salad was a fig with mold, which showed to the staff the lady said "should not happen". So no quality control, let alone no heart. The breakfast is pure mass clearance, which is not worth a 5 star rating, in the best case a 3 stars.||Internet did not work, battery of the safe did not work, 1 small pillow, extra one only delivered after 4 hours and asking 2 times.||And of course giving a room with no lake view and asking 50% premium for that ...||This hotel is just doing the minimum of the minimum, not worth at all 5* and everywhere you feel the impression that the water is up to the neck, profitability issues, mostly by the fact that personnel is unexperienced and even more, not friendly at all.

Yelp
Could not be more beautiful and the restaurant and the welcome were spectacular. Nice access to the spa and gym from all rooms. Note there is no lift so allow the porter to take your bags. The bar does not open till 7 pm but I think drinks can be ordered from the reception before 7. My only misgiving was I left Fortum and Mason Chocolates from London for my grandmother in the fridge. I forgot to collect them and called and hour after check out to see if they could be found. I guess house-keeping did an exhaustive clean as they were nowhere to be found. I Just would have thought such a nice place as that would have risen to a higher standard.
