Google
My regular go to spot in Porto for vegan food especially after a long bike ride before heading home! The guys here are fantastic and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The food is always good and the cherry on top is that it's buffet style so eat til you can't eat more! Excellent value for money and overall service. Can't rate their cappuccino enough in the wine glass! It's the twist in the tale of a visit! Also the Vitalina drink is sublime with the spirulina mixed with oranges and kiwi for that all important vitamin C and protein boost in one swift hit!

Google
Nice option for good value - all vegan including deserts - fixed price buffet and takeout boxes. I came only for dessert near closing time on a slow evening. Great to be able to try vegan versions of things. Good spot for quick lunch or takeout.

Google
This chain of vegan restaurants is truly amazing! At certain times of the day they have an all you can eat buffet, which has a great value for money. There are quite some options, and there's also a vegan version of pastel de nata. Buffet is self service, but outside of the buffet hours the service was quite quick and friendly. Highly recommend!

Google
Finding vegan food in Porto was way easier than I thought! This place serves delicious vegan burgers! Cute ambience and friendly service. This was our last stop at Porto and happy we chose it before heading back to Lisbon!

Google
Delicious vegan buffet. I found it randomly looking at the reviews and I have to admit it was such a great discovery. The buffet has plenty of options, many of them are very interesting and really make you think “how did they do it?”. Polite and friendly staff, in the very centre of Porto and the restaurant is big and clean. Prices are great, definitely worth trying it and going a second and third time (at least). Great concept, you’re really doing an amazing job guys, thank you so much!

Google
Simple yet incredible! The food was delicious and the staff couldn’t be more kind and welcoming. I may have to come back to Porto just so I can eat here again. 10 stars!!

Google
An impressively large dining room for an all vegan eatery; love to see it. We just missed the lunch buffet but the toast and burger were amazing. We ordered two juices and a kombucha to compliment it. Our tummies, gut biomes, and wallets left very happy! We are considering coming back for the dinner buffet after we do some more sightseeing. 👀 Update: we came back for the dinner buffet and it was AMAZING! (As expected)

Google
This was such a great find. Delicious vegan spread for buffet. Staff is very polite. Special mention of Maria who took great care of us. Highly recommended this place.

Yelp
This is a popular Portuguese chain with many locations in Porto. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and immediately seated. The server asked if this was our first time dining there, and we said yes. He then explained the buffet options, drink ordering, and payment process. The buffet line had a wide variety of food choices, each labeled with the ingredients. I tried a small sample of everything, and let me tell you, I was stuffed! I didn't think I had room for dessert, but when the table next to us ordered the banoffi pie, I found a tiny bit of room, barely. The food was absolutely delicious, and the wait staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The store we stopped in was well-lit and spacious, with plenty of tables.

Yelp
Porto doesn't have anywhere near the amount of plant-based/vegan restaurants/eateries that Lisbon does; however, daTerra came highly recommended and was a close less-than-10-minute walk from our apartment on the Ribeira, and their buffet offered us a good amount of choices all being 100% vegan. (And, too, the prices were cheap--can't complain about that!) Apparently, the buffet changes daily, so for our 3-night stay in Porto, we popped into daTerra twice (once for lunch; once for dinner). The staff on both occasions were simply terrific--a great group of people! For me, let's say two-thirds of the buffet was YUM; one-third was not to my liking. But, hey, that's a buffet for you: somethings are hits; something are misses--that's why you've got a large variety of food stuffs to choose from. Wines and beers were extra, but food and drinks are so cheap in Portugal that it didn't matter. The fancy desserts were extra, as well; but, again, who cares if it tastes great and is reasonably priced! In sum: daTerra's food rates a very solid 4-star rating from me, and I give it an extra star for the friendly service.

Yelp
Big places inside and some outdoor seating. I have tried their buffet in the lunch hours. Tons of options but most of food was dry for my taste. For drinks you have to pay extra. I have tried the juice really good.

Chelsea H.

Yelp
We got the lunch buffet, it was so diverse! So many delicious options. A single plate filled me up. The staff was very friendly, fast, and attentive. Tables are not too crowded together. I will be back my next visit to Porto. (:

Yelp
daTerra Baixa offers a vegan buffet just off the R. das Flores shopping street. The offerings here were diverse and included basic vegan fare like lettuce salad with avocado and strawberries; beet and carrot slaw; marinated red cabbage; roasted cauliflower; roasted Brussels sprouts; Russian salad of chopped potatoes, peas, and carrots in a creamy dressing; roasted carrot puree; shots of beet and ginger juice; lentil fritters; and marinated cucumber "carpaccio." Some of the bready items included dried tomato focaccia; cornbread; sweet potato wraps; and crostini with olives and grape. The hot offerings included spinach and mushroom lasagna; tofu topped with pineapple sauce; and my favorite, a flaky, crispy cheese borek pie. Overall, the food here was colorful and fresh, though a bit lacking in flavor and seasoning. Nevertheless, you couldn't beat the price of 12.5 Euros for unlimited helpings during dinner!

Scott R.

Yelp
Amazing Vegan Buffet at great prices! Wait staff was very attentive. Nice modern restaurant. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I am blessed to say that I had the pleasure of eating at daTerra Baixa during my short trip to Porto. I tried it once and loved it so much that I ate at the restaurant every single day of my trip (sometimes even twice in one day). DaTerra is my personal heaven on earth, and if you are vegan, vegetarian, or simply someone who cares about the food that you're putting into your body, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The food is amazing! There is such a diverse selection of food, including food that you've probably never heard of before, and it is all so good. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is very nice. It's busy 24/7 so it's amazing how the staff are able to keep the place so clean - not to mention how effective they are when it comes to replenishing/replacing food on the front line. I visited this restaurant on the first day of my three-month solo trip and the staff were so kind to me, all of my nerves were washed away. I appreciate this restaurant so much. I can't wait to return. 10/10

Yelp
A vegan buffet - are you serious? They are absolutely serious, and the food is good! I came for dinner and enjoyed everything. Highlights from the buffet were the pureed leek soup, and this sliced savory tart thing with flaky pastry crust surrounding a filling of eggplant and olives (possibly a vegan adaptation of beef wellington). The best thing overall was the hazelnut chocolate pie! Desserts are not included in the buffet price but it was delicious and more than worth the price.

Yelp
After a delicious but heavy traditional Portuguese hotel breakfast at Hotel Infante Sagres, I needed a light lunch to tide me over for the afternoon. I eat gluten-free and I noticed that this place had a lot of options for me. The menu changes every day so I won't get into specifics, but there are so many options in the buffet that anyone with vegan or gluten issues will be really happy. The staff went around and helped point out everything gluten-free I could eat. They are supposed to have signs marking everything but didn't have them all up. I could probably eat 60-70% of the buffet. Everything was really tasty and high quality. My favorite thing was the range of colors on the table. I was sure to get as many as possible. I was pretty full even without being able to eat the bread because they had potatoes and rice. Almost everyone had a colorful drink at their table although I didn't get one. Next time I'll try one.

Dev C.

Yelp
rose: the potato gratin, stuffed bread, shot, and soup were amazing. everything else is alright, not game changing though. thorn: wasn't a huge fan of most of the other dishes bud: if you're traveling on a budget, def try this! if you have a larger budget, i think there's much better options of food to try in porto. i probably wouldn't come here again on this trip though.

George H.

Yelp
This is really the most amazing find ever in my 8 years as a vegetarian! A buffet~! For Vegans?!! Hallelujah~! We would be lucky to have a couple of choices at most, at most places, but this is a whole new world! I can't thank the place enough for feeding us so well! This is truly delicious, fresh and wonderful!

Amanda W.

Yelp
OMG!!!! In love the vegan options are amazing. The fast that it is a buffet for a responsible price everyone can eat here. The staff is super nice and has a family environment. Obsessed with this place

Alena B.

Yelp
Cute little market with lots of food options. I was told to come here for the vegan food and it was delightful ! It's like buffet style and you pick out any and everything you want for a fixed price. The server even let me come back for seconds!

Joan R.

Yelp
We ate the dinner buffet, the food was plentiful and delicious. My omnivore daughter enjoyed her meal too, as did myself and another daughter who are both vegan. We ordered a dessert to share and it was also delicious. We had eaten at another location a couple of days earlier for lunch and enjoyed it and were excited to try this location in the heart of Porto. This location has lots of seating and table service which was nice. Don't miss this opportunity for a nice healthy meal whether you are vegan or not.

James L.

Yelp
Food was great-largely raw vegan, all you can eat buffet. Really relaxed setting. Only drink service (given you serve your own food) but great staff. Had a great selection on the day I went.

Plumeria P.

Yelp
I'm going to start this review by saying If you have a nut allergy this is probably not the place for you. Both of my sons have nut allergies and we found daTerra to be a very stressful experience. We had to ask three different servers about what dishes were nut free until finding someone who was willing to go ask the chefs. He came back 15 minutes later and pointed out very quickly, which dishes did and did not have nuts. It was all very confusing and overwhelming and my older son who is a grown adult was as stressed as I was and he decided not to eat there and we left after my husband and I ate (my other son has fewer allergies so he ate some of the dishes too). As for the food, it was okay but not great. I was underwhelmed by the protein options and vegetable variety in general. I still gave it 3 stars because it's nice to have a vegan option in Porto when meat and fish seems to be the only thing you can order at the majority of restaurants. But they definitely need to dial in the nut allergy situation!

Yelp
What we got: €9.90 dinner buffet Pros: - This was right beside our hostel (Best Guest Hostel) in Porto and we were looking for something with vegetables as the Portuguese diet was very much meat, seafood, and potatoes. - The price was very reasonable and the items changed with each day. I highly liked the mango polenta and curry cauliflower. On another day, they also had stuffed mushrooms. - There was also a good squash soup, which is nice to have something to drink as water is expensive. - I find the menu at this restaurant to be more creative than traditional vegan/vegetarian restaurants, rather than the typical salad, falafel and tofu- you can see the pictures of the different options they had. They also cater to gluten free options. - This restaurant was also quite large and can fit many people, I only waited 5 min for a group of 4 around 7:30 on a weeknight to get in. - Excellent area, lots of things to do after eating. Cons: - Unlike a traditional North American Buffet, the desserts are extra cost. However they do look very good and might suggest you try!

Yelp
Vegetarian restaurants are hard to find in Portugal, and this one is a gem. We were tired of several days of Tasquinho fare (salted meat and fish), and although we are not vegetarian, we were hankering after some fiber and something fresh. Had walked by this place earlier in the day while investigating the small restaurant next door and decided to give it a try, and were very glad that we did. Service is buffet style - you order your beverage (wide assortment of juices, teas, wine, beer, etc) and then go get your food. Everything that we tried was tasty and well prepared. There are 3 hot entrees, a hot soup, and and a large selection of cold items (salads, skewers, grains) to choose from, and excellent desserts (which are extra). 11.50€ gets you all you could want of food that's delicious and actually good for you. Highly recommended.

Ash K.

Yelp
Plenty of salads and healthy soup with rice and bread choices in the diner buffet. A little more flavor and spices would have done the trick and made it super enjoyable. Staff was friendly and the place quite spacious.

Renu A.

Yelp
After a few days of traveling around Portugal and indulging in pasta and endless pasteis de nata, finding daTerra for a healthy meal couldn't have come at a better time. We were hungry, wanted veggies, and something healthy. daTerra does a buffet style and for a really reasonable price! The presentation was also really nice and not the usual buffet style with food in a heating dish under some heat lamps. They had quinoa salads, rice, roasted veggies, and various other salads to choose from. Perfect spot if you are a vegetarian. Knocking a star off because my friend and I ordered smoothies and they were a little watered down and didn't taste too great. Not sure if that's a Portuguese style smoothie, but if you're used to something thicker then I'd pass on a smoothie. Note - they don't take card here so you'll need to come prepared with cash. There's an ATM around the corner but you'll probably get hit with some fees depending on where you're traveling from and your bank.

JL S.

Yelp
Great selection and friendly, efficient service. Soup was served nice and hot unlike many restaurants in Portugal. Can't say the same for the other entrees but that must be the local preference. Favorites were the onion bread and pears. They do close between 3:30 and 7 PM.

Abby S.

Yelp
This restaurant was unbelievable! We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was packed. The food was wonderful and there was a ton of variety, for the pickiest of eaters. The service was also great and the dishes that were low continued to be quickly replaced. This would definitely be a place I would go everyday if I was a local, but will be returning soon!

Chidu K.

Yelp
But for Italian food, it is hard to find any vegetarian friendly place in Portugal. We were recommended this place by the hotel concierge and couldn't believe that we didn't find it ourselves while looking for a veggie friendly place to eat. This place is super awesome. They have vegetarian buffet for lunch but it was closed by the time we got there. So, I ordered from the menu and chose the tofu mushroom burger which came with fries. The burger was so delicious - way better than many other veggie burgers that I have had. The home made sauce in the burger was unbelievable. Everything looked and tasted very fresh. They also make fresh juices and desserts. Service was pretty slow but the staff were very friendly. Must eat place in Porto if you are looking for vegetarin options.

Alex M.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is pretty amazing- and the burgers we saw must have been some of the biggest burgers I've ever seen. Everything was refreshing and delicious and LIGHT- because most of the meals we had in Portugal were super heavy. Fried fish, fried potatoes- it was nice to just get some fruits and veggies and clean food. Also, they have beer, which is very important.

Justine K.

Yelp
DaTerra has a bright, clean, open ambience when you walk in. The service is pretty quick which is not common in Portugal so great job there. It's a fun experience to come to a vegan buffet but perhaps like any other buffet, the food was just okay. There was a great variety of salad, many veggies, soup, noodles, rice & grilled seitan. Aside from the buffet, you also have the option to order off a menu which may be better than the buffet but I can't comment on it. Given this place is right by the main train station, it's a quick & easy meal for vegan/ vegetarian eaters who need some sustenance in quality.

M.H. B.

Yelp
Very good food ~ The location is really nice, slow side street. The menu is full of healthy drinks and delicious vegan food. They also serve a good Buffett. The service was miserable. Incredibly slow - I went inside to order three times, had to remember the waiter twice and when the food was on the table, knife and fork were absent. Nobody took care. But three stars for the very good food.

Marilyn B.

Yelp
Craving for Vegetables while traveling in Porto? Tasty food, variety of choices, excellent value. We also had dessert - banana cream pie and carrot cake with chocolate- YUMMY

S J.

Yelp
Amazing vegetarian restaurant in Porto. Great value as it's a buffet with many, many choices and you can go back many times. After so much pork and fries and sandes we needed vegetables and they delivered! We filled up and then purchased takeaway boxes for picnic lunch the next day. Delicious food, helpful & friendly staff.

Dr. Hematoma H.

Yelp
A great stop for any foodie! Fresh ingredients that will leave your palate buzzing only to find yourself back at the buffet refilling your plate. Beware for tourists only euros or Portuguese credit cards taken here. As a meat lover this place is way above any of their other eateries around.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Great vegan restaurant in the heart of downtown Porto. I made it here for lunch during the week and it was quite busy. For lunch, they offer a buffet menu with several vegan options to choose from. If i'm not mistaken the lunch is priced at around 8 euros but it doesn't include drinks or dessert. Try some of the desserts! Vegan deliciousness :) Staff is great and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Definitely a great option when in the area.

Alex G.

Yelp
Amazing vegan food at a completely reasonable price. I'm a meat eater, so a vegan restaurant isn't exactly my go-to spot, but I was with a group and they wanted to go. After eating here, I think I might need to go vegan. The food was absolutely amazing and I was marvelled at how they can create such unique taste with strictly vegan ingredients. The place is set up as a buffet for 9.90€. Drinks and desserts are extra. I saw the menu has meals you can order instead of the buffet, but the value play is to definitely choose the buffet option. To be honest, I doubt many people don't do the buffet. It was busy when we were there (2pm on a Sunday), but I didn't see anyone wait more than 5 minutes for a table. It was usually just a matter of them getting the table cleaned up and ready for the next group. Make sure you try a bit of everything, just to appreciate all the unique flavours and then on your second plate go back to get larger portions of your favourites. Some my favourites they had when I was there were guacamole, coleslaw, this sweet potatoes mix and the beet salad. I would definitely recommend coming here as it's a nice change up from eating meat and carbs, which are staples on vacation.

Ben S.

Yelp
It's wasn't all delicious, but it was all GOOD, at least. And it was a blessing to find. Very healthy feeling and excellent variety. Could have been more protein options. Rice doesn't count to me. They had some soy Benedict that was nice. The Brussel sprouts were the delicious thing. Hummus was dull. Nice atmosphere. If I was here for 5 days I would come here all 5 days - but i would need to find some protein powder or something somewhere else or go eat fish somewhere else in the day. Def recommend.

Priya B.

Yelp
This was an interesting vibe. The place is a buffet style, but initially looks like a classy place. Food was ok, kinda tastes like "buffet quality". The deserts were nothing impressive either.

Sonny K.

Yelp
Not a lot of vegetarian options in Porto so this place is a blessing for vegetarians and vegans. Buffet has tons of great options. Service was great!

Maria K.

Yelp
I ate at Daterra maybe 6 times during my stay in Porto recently. Delicious, cheap, and the menu offerings change on a daily basis. Love this place!

Neelam P.

Yelp
Service was friendly and the restaurant was packed on a weeknight. They had a variety of options to choose from during their nightly buffet. Mostly everything we tried was good, especially the spring rolls. I do wish they had one dessert offering as a part of the dinner buffet though!

Shoshana G.

Yelp
By the time I arrived in Porto, I was craving a good-quality healthy meal. Da Terra did not disappoint and I ended up coming here three days in a row. They have a lunch buffet for 7.5 euros and a dinner buffet for 9 euros. The dishes change regularly and are all vegan and very healthy and creatice. This restaurant is on one of Porto's main streets. They have free wifi that is better with fewer people on it. My only complaint is that one of the male servers was so extremely rude - not bothering to explain anything to us, being "too busy" to help me pay the bill, and just all-around acting annoyed that we were there. He's tall with full facial hair and kind of messy hair. So, try and get someone else to help you so you don't have to deal with him!

Sophia M.

Yelp
daTerra is truly a unique dining experience. It's a buffet style meal with solely vegetarian options! A complex combination of cuisines and cultures in every individual dish. The food is fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Julia W.

Yelp
Love the ease and taste of this buffet! There was a wide variety of food, altering hot and cold dishes, and the staff was perfectly friendly. The price for the dinner buffet was excellent and I was happy to see that they also sell a to-go box for a few dollars more. I do wish that the dessert was included in the buffet, but even without that it was a good value. My omni husband ate here with me and even he liked it!

Mythili I.

Yelp
Standard vegan/vegetarian buffet with some quirkier flavors. We went to da terra for early dinner. The food ranges on the cold side by design, which might not be to everyone's taste. A pickled red cabbage dish with cinnamon was a good litmus test; I very much enjoyed it while my dining partner did not. Desserts seemed largely if not entirely vegan. We had the acai tart and a vegan pastel de nata, both of which were good. Two sangrias were less so; there was a pool of sugar at the bottom. Meal total was €30.

Ashlee B.

Yelp
My first food stop in Porto and it did not disappoint. Wonderful spread of vegetarian and vegan dishes (salad, quiche, sushi, soup, etc.) and everything was delicious. They've even got various juices if you want an extra dose of fruit and veggie goodness! I'll be in Porto for a few days and will definitely be back.

Christine R.

Yelp
We were thrilled to find a vegan restaurant with so many wonderful options on the buffet. Everything was fabulous, including the lemon cream pie!!! As a traveler with a severe dairy allergy, I can't tell you how happy I am to find daTerra!!! My only question is: when will you write a cookbook for us??

Katie W.

Yelp
Went for the lunch buffet and it was quite good. Good variety, everything tasted fresh. I don't usually choose vegetarian, but it was a good, filling lunch with a bunch of options. I particularly enjoyed the dried pears and the marinated mushrooms. They also had these really good savory muffins. Great option for lunch.

Patrick B.

Yelp
A lovely spot for local or traveling vegetarian. Good prices, excellent food. We'll be back next time.

Catarina C.

Yelp
It's great that there is a vegetarian place on such a well-located street. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to try the buffet - which people have told me is delicious - and I had a burger instead. The burger itself was okay-ish (but could be seriously improved) and the potatoes it came with were the most greasy I have had in my life and too salty and spicy. An explosion of flavours in the worst possible way. There's a positive note to this: the cake I had was amazing. Amazing texture, amazing taste, amazig everything.

Casondra P.

Yelp
Finding vegetarian food abroad is a major pain in my a**. If only daTerra had more locations across Europe! For just ~9 Euros, you'll get a full buffet of fresh, healthy, tasty vegetarian cuisine. If you're hungry, look no further for a delicious and filling meal. The price does not include drinks or dessert, but it will get you PLENTY of food. If you're a big meat eater, don't worry - this isn't some wimpy vegetarian place that gives you a sad plate of wet lettuce. You're going to eat a lot of food and it is downright hearty.

Vandhana V.

Yelp
This place is a heaven. Delicious Vegetarian buffet for 7 Euro. Who will say no to that! Me and my husband were on a trip to Porto couple of months ago. After going around few places, both of us were very hungry. As a vegetarian both of us had no idea what Porto has to offer for us. We browsed for nearby vegetarian restaurants from Luis 1 bridge and found "da Terra" to be less than half an kilometer away. We never know that they offer buffet until we reached da Terra. It came as a treat for us to fill our empty stomach. We had been to many places in Spain and Portugal and "Da Terra" tops our list. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Porto especially if you are a vegetarian/vegan.

Joao D.

Yelp
Incredible variety. Gourmet option on a buffet style. Great price. Best in Porto. Must go

Joshua F.

Yelp
A great vegan buffet. vegetarians will soon find that Porto does not have a lot of options. This is the place to go!
