Cit'Hôtel Le Dav Clermont-Ferrand Centre

Cute little boutique hotel in the central old town area. Room is basic and comfortable, good bathroom. Breakfast is basic. Close to many restaurants, including the Michelin recognized one next door. Close to the trams. Friendly, helpful staff.

Shower head was broken and hot water ran out after a few minutes. Sink barely drained and water was off two nights until late in the evening. In their defense there was an issue with the boiler but they could have offered buckets or jugs of water for washing hands or flushing the toilet. Worst was NO AIR CONDITIONING.

Lovely hotel in a pretty area close to amenities and easy to find. Some great restaurants in the square at the bottom and within the tiny streets at the top. ||No parking at the hotel but street parking is available a couple of streets away. Room was cosy with air conditioning. Bed comfortable. ||Would definitely recommend this hotel and we throughly enjoyed our stay here.

The Dav' Hotel is in a great central spot, handy to the bus terminal, lots of dining options. It is clean and at a very good price point. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Stayed for 2 nights as a solo male travelling across France. It met my simple needs perfectly. Highly Recommended.

The bad parts - the room finish is tired and bathrooms need updating. |The good part is “everything else”. |Perfect location, comfortable, clean & spacious room, good breakfast, great staff. |They even have giant original cartoons and drawings on the walls by a very talented artist. | Stop here and spend what you save (compared to Mercure etc) on a great meal nearby. Lots to choose from.

We stayed at Dav'hotel for 2 nights arriving by train. The hotel is very central next to Jaude square. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and have a pleasant size.Since located in a pedestrian area it could be noisy by night if window is open but no traffic noise. ||An only regret would be that the rooms do have carpet on the floor.

Super friendly staff and a perfect room for a really affordable price. It will leave you saying: 'good golly, this is a nice hotel' or something of a similar nature.

This review is in respect of my customer service experience around the booking rather than the accommodation itself, which I have unfortunately not been able to comment on.||||Myself and a friend made a booking to stay at Dav Hotel in April 2020 as it was our intention to watch Clermont play a home European Cup rugby match. The hotel contacted me to advise that they were having to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore my booking would be cancelled. Knowing full well that we were entitled to a full refund, we decided to try to support the business by instead accepting a credit for a future booking.||||Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic and government restrictions which impacted upon sports stadium attendances in France, it was not until the 2022/23 season that we could use our credit. We therefore contacted the hotel, requesting a credit in February 2023, on a weekend when Clermont were due to host Leicester Tigers in the European Cup rugby. The hotel manager, Florent Bertelli, responded to our request, confirming that the credit was only available for 18 months and that the booking was therefore lost. Having reviewed previous correspondence, we were never advised of the possibility of losing the credit, which did not appear to be date limited.||||Being regular travellers and having needed to make a number of cancellations during the COVID-19 pandemic we consistently took the view that we would do everything we could do help businesses survive such difficult times by accepting credit vouchers rather than refunds. All other hotels that we have booked over the last couple of years have been flexible and accommodating, and appear to put the customer experience above the bottom line profit.||||In this case, we were fully entitled to a refund and we suppose it was our own fault for being so trusting of this business, actually believing that they would appreciate our support rather than stealing our money.
