Davar Guest House

Davar is a beautifully decorated family home in a quiet location and our twin room provided equally well finished and adequately spacious en suite guest accomodation with stunning views across the bay. Caran and Dave are excellent hosts and the breakfasts (continental or cooked) are very good quality. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Davar in Lochinver. From first booking to check-out, communication with our hosts was smooth and swift with lots of helpful information given in advance.|We received a warm welcome and our room was very comfortable with all you could possibly need provided, as well as some extra thoughtful touches. |Breakfast (ordered the evening before) featured lots of home-made or locally-produced items with a good choice, catering for all tastes, and delicious into the bargain! Dave was on hand at breakfast to advise on places to visit, impart local information and share his wealth of knowledge of the history of this part of Scotland and beyond. |Davar is only about a 15 minute walk into Lochinver so conveniently located to reach cafes and restaurants for lunches or evening meals. |Thank you, Dave and Caren for welcoming us and making our stay with you such a pleasure.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and a true sense of hospitality. The standard of the bed and breakfast is exceptional – everything feels thoughtfully maintained, from the tasteful décor to the well-appointed rooms. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority here; every corner was spotless, and the attention to detail was remarkable.||Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and served with a personal touch that made us feel at home. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, offering helpful local tips and making us feel truly welcome.

We had a lovely stay for two nights - the bed was divine and the room was spotless and charmingly decorated. Dave & Caren cooked a wonderful breakfast and gave great local advice. Would stay again.

Excellent accommodation. Karen was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Gave recommendations about restaurants in the town and helped with any questions I had. Rooms very spacious. Everything very clean. A lot of choice for breakfast (which you choose from the list the evening before), lovely breakfast served up too. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent bed and breakfast! Dave and Karen made us feel most welcome. Dave’s knowledge of the area was extremely helpful. The accommodation is lovely, fantastic location with excellent views. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. We will be back !

We had a very warm welcome from Dave & Caren. The room (2) was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The view over the loch was stunning and, on our first evening, the sight of a red deer grazing in the braken below was rather special. The breakfasts were excellent and Dave was a fount of knowledge about local walks and sights. It is very well placed for a short walk into Lochinver, itself for food and pies.

My wife and I spent 2 lovely days in Lochinver, and Davar was just the best guest house to stay in. The 2 hosts and the room were lovely. With just 3 rooms, there are not many people, and the service and hospitality were top-class. They put so much thought into what they included in the rooms. The little luxuries were certainly noticed and appreciated. It was as good as staying in a 5-star hotel. We will come back to Scotland again, and when we do, we will certainly be back to stay at Davar. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
