Visited Dave’s Hot Chicken while in Gilbert for lunch after driving by it countless times since they opened — a friend (Teresa) finally gave me the push to stop in. The atmosphere was very casual and laid-back, with a lively buzz, varied seating, and both indoor and outdoor options. The service was friendly and efficient, especially considering how busy the place was. Tried the hot chicken — a nice, solid piece with good crunch and flavor; timing may not have been ideal after just having Hattie B’s in Nashville, but it still held its own. Next time I’ll definitely go a level hotter. The crinkle-cut fries were a standout — crispy and done right. Overall, a great spot for locals and worth a return visit. Saluti

Raising Cane’s was closed on MLK Day, so they lost my business. Dave’s Hot Chicken absolutely won it. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was on point. Riley at the register was incredible, she was super friendly, patient, and genuinely made my first visit feel welcoming. Top-tier customer service 👏 Now let’s talk about the food… BOMB. 🔥 The chicken was insanely crispy, perfectly seasoned and juicy. The sliders were stacked, the fries were hot and seasoned just right, and everything tasted fresh. Zero complaints, just straight satisfaction. Safe to say Dave’s Hot Chicken just earned a repeat customer. Cane’s might want to take notes. 😌🍗

First time in and had a wonderful experience! Mando was so helpful and nice he explained the entire menu and gave good suggestions he’s great! Fernanda who helped us pick up our order was amazing too! Food is delicious and perfectly assembled great flavor 10/10 for the kitchen staff!

The seasoning has a nice flavor profile, you can really taste it on the white bread you get with your meal. I had the mini sliders and for $10, they would be a good snack to split between 2 people, the chicken in the minis isn't very big but the pickle and slaw taste great with the medium hot. I ordered a tender and thought $5 for one tender was high, when it came out it was about half of a breast. Good stuff.

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful, clean, and well-organized, and the staff are incredibly friendly. The food is delicious and flavorful, and the restaurant is certified halal. I highly recommend trying it!

This has become our family's favorite fast food chicken spot. Very flavorful chicken that can be ordered in different level of heat. The fries are good, too - frozen, but seasoned well and perfectly crispy. Their kale slaw is a favorite and is a great cooling side to the spicy chicken.

Staff was so nice and helped us out with finding the perfect menu. Chicken has very good seasoning and overall just great food. Especially good because it’s Halal.

This was my first time at Dave’s Hot Chicken and the customer service was top notch. Shout out to Armando for thoroughly explaining the whole menu to my family and I. We decided to order the chicken bites but to our desired flavor choice. My 9 year old chose the no spice bites and she kept raving about them. The medium flavor was described as a hot Cheeto flavor so that’s what I chose. I can see why they were described that way, but I can personally handle more spice so next time I will definitely get the hot flavor. My husband got the hot flavor and it definitely has a kick to it. Overall the food was hot and fresh. I appreciated the pickles that were provided with our meals as they helped to cleanse the palate. We will be back to try the other items on the menu.

Hell yeah! Probably the best chicken sandwich in the valley! I went through the drive through, a bit of a wait, but worth it. And the fries? Pretty great with that mysterious seasoning. You all shoulda come to NE Mesa, but instead we just got that overrated chain

Great spot for drive through or carry out. There are tables inside but no table service. Cool looking building inside and out with the graffiti and decorations. Their meals come with "sliders" but don't let the name fool you. They are big. I like spicy foods but I also like to taste good flavor. I got medium hot - it was the right spice level.

My friend keeps raving about Dave's Hot Chicken, specifically the sliders. I've never been so tonight we went so I could give them a taste. I'd say it was a solid 3.75 stars but I rounded up :) The store was clean and the staff were pleasant. No complaints there at all! I got the #3 Dave's Chicken Slider and Tender (Hot) with fries. The Sliders and Tender were very crispy, which I enjoyed. I'd definitely say the sliders are better than the tenders though, no contest. The "Hot" was kinda mild for me...I think if I go back I'll select the next heat level up (I like it spicy!). The chicken was good though & moist. Fries were crunchy with some sweetness to them. Overall the food was good...didn't blow my socks off but still, I liked what I ate. I left full and satisfied :) On a scale of 1 - 10......I'm sure my friend will talk me into coming back again and I'll be good with that. I'll go double sliders and kick up the spicy next time though.

I have been wanting some spicy hot chicken and everyone had been telling me to give Dave's Hot Chicken a try, so off I went. I went with a 1 slider with fries. For the chicken I went with a medium heat since it was my 1st time and wasn't sure about the levels yet. And for the fries I upgraded to cheesy fries. Yall I was disappointed., The bun looked like it had seen somethings before being slapped on my sandwiched, compressed, partially hard and wrinkled, the fries although covered in cheese were over fried and just crunchy and bland, no salt, You would think I was ordering at the end of the day or something, but no this was around 1pm on a Thursday. I can say the chicken was cooked nicely and had flavor but ate it bun less cuz who knows what my bun went through. Had high hopes and just was disappointed/ Not sure if Davie's was worth it to me.

I have been here a couple of times and love this place. The dining room is nice and open. The service has been always really good. Now to the food. I have been getting a slider and chicken tender. The french fries are super good too. Now to the chicken. I have tried the medium and it was good. The last time I went I got hot for both the slider and tender it was perfect. I am a huge fan of this style of chicken sandwhiches.

I gotta be honest, this chicken has flavor. I have been here a few times and have enjoyed the food. It is always the same and you can get different heat levels. For hot chicken, this won't quite beat some of the more prominent representations like that from Nashville but it is very close. I can solidly rate this a 4 out of five as flavor goes, however it does tend to be dry by nature. Nonetheless, I still favor this over Cane's across the street. This order was a slider and a tender with an added extra tender because I'm fat and needed it. It did come with a tasty sauce and a good serving of tasty pickles. The food was good but I will point out that the music being played was way too loud to have a pleasant experience. I think it's ok to play music and to play it loud but the staff also was playing music that was way fu$king too loud. Two different loud musics playing at the same fu$king time!!! I couldn't hear the checkout lady/guy, I couldn't hear the person handing me the food at the counter, I couldn't hear myself think!!!! If I could give a negative rating I would. This made my experience here an absolute horrendous visit. Maybe the owner can chime in here but if I was the manager, I'd be concerned about my job. I do not recommend this place until they can resolve the music situation!!!!!!!!!!

Everything. It's perfect. Every review, video, mukbang that you've seen on this place, it's correct, Dave's is the way. It's always the way.

Let's start with the positive. Service was great and food came up quickly. OK here we go, why wouldn't it be, they basically only serve chicken tenders. Tenders are longer and thinner than buns so a slider is half bun only. Chicken is breaded not battered and was over-cooked and dry. The sauce is too sweet, but some may like it. ...WAY EXPENSIVE. I paid $32 for two and get the same at Chick Fil A for HALF the price....and the chicken is tender and juicy and fills the bun.

I finally tried Dave's hot chicken. I couldn't decide on dinner one night and since I was in the area I remembered Dave's Hot Chicken was nearby. I went and the atmosphere is fun, colorful and lively. The cashier was very friendly and helpful with me choosing the level of heat for my chicken tenders. I don't likely overly spicey food so the cashier suggested medium heat. I ordered the 2 chicken tenders with cheese fries and no bread to-go. I got home and the chicken tenders were a nice size. Not too big and not too small. The medium heat was perfect for me. I'm glad I didn't get go any hotter. The chicken and fries were freshly cooked. The chicken was crispy and delicious. The cheese on the fires was just ok. I'll get them plain next time. I enjoyed my meal and look forward to another one soon.

Nothing too surprising here. It was pretty busy yet we got our food in about 5 minutes and there was still seating available inside. "Hot" was probably a little more mild than other hot chicken joints. The sauce is a little more mayo than I'd prefer, but the chicken is moist. Another pretty good option in the sea of hot chicken.

This place was pretty good. The service was super quick. We may have just gotten there at the right time but not long after we placed our order we sat down and our food was ready and fresh. Crispy fries and hot juicy chicken. I tried the chicken spices one mild and one hot. The mild didn't really have much spice at all but the hot had some kick. I did enjoy the seasoning for the chicken and fries it reminded me of a powdered BBQ flavoring. The ambiance I would say is laid out like a fast food place. It's a bit nicer but the place has a drive through so it's to be expected. The food here is top notch for a fast food chicken joint. The service has its good and bad days, but to be honest I don't go here for Michelin star rated service. It's fast food. The interior and dine in experience is great as well. The ambience is better than most places you'll see.

Stopping here once a week has become my tradition. I order the same thing and it never disappoints.

To begin they have an outdoor area to eat and a drive thru! The service is amazing everyone one is very welcoming and there fast ! You see the managers helping out which is always a good thing. Food is fresh and tastyyyy you can choose how spicy you want it to be or no spice how great is that. Overall 10/10

Dave's Hot LIE. Negative -5 stars mainly due to the service and being accused of lying. The 1st time was great nice large size chicken in my sliders and tender. The 2nd time...DO NOT LEAVE THE DRIVE THRU WITHOUT CHECKING YOIR FOOD...EVER. These people gave me smalls asē half burnt chicken. When I took my order back inside because I was so confused. The guys tried to tell me..."this isn't what I handed out..." Sir why I got to lie... this chicken nugget size and piece together chicken is what I received from your window. I am not here to argue please refund me. As I wait for my refund not nar-one of the orders being handed out inside had small chicken pieces. He tried to point to a sign with a large chicken piece and a small chicken piece talking about difference in sizes. BoyBye why u handing out nuggets...no wonder the mascot got his mouth wide open...LIES. There will NOT be a 3rd time.

Place is nice and clean. The staff was friendly and conversational. Their menu is super simple which is great. The tenders and fries were freshly made, so it was nice to have popping hot food. I compared it to the competition across the street and Dave's Hot Chicken will be my go to place. The size of the tenders, the availability to pick out how spicy makes the difference. The pickles are great as well.

When we arrived, there were a few tables that had customers who were waiting for their food. It took a little while to get our order placed, even though there was one customer ahead of us. I'm not sure why it took so long for their transaction to be completed. It looks like starting from June 1, people have to ask for single use items, such as the cutlery and the ketchup packets. The cutlery and the ketchup packets were in a container at the front near the register and there's a sign on it that said, "starting June 1 people have to ask to acquire these items". I am wondering the reason why, but I did not ask. Maybe people were taking more than one cutlery set per person and too many ketchup packets. We looked for a table to sit at. None of them were clean. I am not sure if the rush had just finished before we got there, but we were there at nearly noon. We managed to locate a semi-clean table and sat there to wait for the food to be ready. After all of the rest of the customers who were already seated at their tables, received their food we were able to pick our food up from the front as well. The chicken strips were a good size and moist on the inside. The fries are pretty good. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There was a coleslaw that was made with kale that was placed on the inside of the chicken sandwich. I couldn't really taste it. There's wasn't much of it. There was a sauce that came with the chicken tender and it was orange, but it tasted like it had mustard in it. The sauce is OK. I don't like mustard, but it was tolerable. The number three, which was a chicken sandwich and a chicken tender on a slice of bread along with french fries was pretty filling. The medium spice level was a good choice. I think if it was any spicier than that, I wouldn't have liked it. The spice made everything salty. I liked the pickle slices because they were vinegar flavored. They were quite salty but went well with the chicken. No music was playing in the restaurant and I liked that. It made it easier to hear when they called my number. The walls were decorated with a graffiti-like look to it. The clientele was mostly youngish when we went.

After seeing a bunch of Dave's hot chicken employees eating at chick-fil-A, I've never been in a hurry to try it. They told me medium was hot but I didn't think it was. They have a cool outside patio area when the weather permits. Food was decent. With this place, Canes and chick-fil-A all within short distance of each other Dave's would be my last pick.

Lunchtime on a Monday. The place is crowded, but not packed. The drive thru does seem to be doing a brisk business. The menu is pretty straightforward - Hot chicken two ways. You can get a tender or a slider. The sliders is a tender on a bun with pickles and some sauce. I opted for one of each - I got one mild and one medium. The tenders are well cooked and quite crunchy. The mild was definitely not hot and the medium had a bit of kick to it, but not what I would consider hot. I also got a side of fries. They were crinkle cut, crispy, and hot. The order come with a sauce that is very akin to the sauce you get at Cane's. Overall, the food was good, the service was good, and the place was clean. N*joy... Note: The tenders are not really sauced. They are more dusted with hot seasoning than anything else. It was fine with me, but perhaps not your jam.

Comfortable place. Open, high ceilings, very cool lights on the ceiling and paint in the walls. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was very good. Buns were soft, chicken was juicy, fries were good and meaty, and the house sauce is really good, reminded me of a similar but a bit less flavorful sauce from Cane's. Medium and mild we're not spicy, if you like spice, I'd go higher. They use a dry rub on their chicken, not sauces. Not sure if this is better or worse, I did like that it sort of cooks the flavor into the meat. On the other hand, you can't try the "sauces" before ordering to see which is the right heat level for you, because there are no sauces. The kale slaw adds a nice bit of crunch and mouth feel to the sliders. The value is pretty good. $5 for a can of beer is a bit steep, but at least they offer it, so that's great! I want to try their Mac n cheese next time. I'd definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back when in the area.

Really simple and exactly what I'm looking for in a hot chicken spot. "Slider" (which was plenty big) comes with slaw, pickles, and their sauce, all making for a perfect bite. I went with the "extra hot" which was really good with the sweet/sour on the slider, but when eating the tender alone you can definitely taste the spice. While it isn't super hot, my mouth was feeling it even after leaving the restaurant. Staff was friendly, food came out fast, and I thought it was really well priced for what you get. Tip: only have their spread sauce, ketchup, and honey packs.

Didn't realize this was the same chicken chain I'd heard of favorably from a friend! It was busy on a Saturday afternoon but we had no issues dining in. The hot and extra hot chicken were spicy, and definitely salty. Shaped oddly. It was okay but I'm not in a hurry to return.

Went here on Sunday 03/10/24. Very clean. Girl at the counter was friendly. I ordered the #3 one tender and one slider in medium heat. My buzzer beeped and they gave me the wrong order. A customer came over to me and said I had his order. If I had to do it over again I would have ordered it in mild. The medium seemed more like the hot flavor. Only negative was the price. It is high.

Placed an order through GrubHub and I would definitely eat there again! I had the chicken slider with fries. For the first time, I tried the medium heat due to know knowing how hot the chicken is (was NOT spicy at all). It comes with coleslaw and pickles on the sandwich. Pickles have a good crunch and tang to them. The fries were seasoned well. The bread had a hint of sweetness to it. I also tried the Mac n cheese. It was your typical fast food Mac. Decently priced overall. I do not have opinion about the service or the look of the place; I did not pick up.

I ordered there 2 piece lite mild chicken strips, and fries. when I got them I got 3 pieces which was a surprise, but the covering of the chicken was strange. never seen a dry rub on chicken being severed that way. It stuck to your fingers and everything. It was like eating a dry powder rub. It did not taste very good, dry, I dipped it in the little cup they gave you. I guess it was fry sauce and it made it a bit better. Took what was lefts 2 1/2 pieces home and washed off all the powder coating and it was a lot better, still a bit spicy for lite mild coating. I would not recommend this place to anyone. chicken was moist inside, but I do not get it how people can eat a dry coating on chicken.

First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and certainly not my last. We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday and though surprised there wasn't a line, it did get really busy once we ordered. Love that you can choose your level of spiciness. Never thought to add honey to a spicy chicken sandwich, but it was so good. There was plenty of seating indoor and outdoor on their patio area. This location offered a free soda or milkshake when you check in on Yelp or leave a google review.

This wasn't really too bad, but now that I've had a chance to compare CFA, Popeye's and Dave's all in a close timeframe, I have to go with Popeye's as the best chicken sandwich.

We gave this place a try on Friday night for dinner. I ordered carry out using the Yelp app. Very convenient. The restaurant is brand new it is very clean inside also. It was packed. The drive-thru was packed too. I ordered a chicken sandwich slider and the two tender meal with fries. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Like the batter was crispy and the chicken was moist and tender. I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese and it was outstanding, creamy and cheesy. I was a little unimpressed with the french fries but they were still good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I love chicken sandwiches and had Dave's once before and thought it was pretty good. So I was excited that I can get it in AZ now! Inside looked spacious, but we got the food togo. Drive through was convenient and went by fast. The bread that comes with the tender is just regular white bread. I would say the slider bread is much softer and tastier. The kale slaw was really good! I do wish there was more slaw to the slider. I really enjoy chicken San which was that have a good slaw to it. The tender had more breading on it than I would have liked. We got mild heat and it was a true mild (a small kick). The Dave's sauce and fries were good. There are also pickles that come with the meal. I would say it's on the pricey side since $4.69 is for one tender. Staff was very friendly!

I hate to be the one that calls, "Hype" but... HYPE! Y'all, we have some really great local places that makes AMAZING hot chicken. Now I'm not poo-pooing on Dave's but this chain place ain't it. The line here is longer than any I have seen at In-N-Out or Cane's. If you can wait for the hype to go down or come right at opening during the work week (what I did), then by all means, please wait or get there early! The seasoning is bitter. I got the two tender meal at medium hot and a reaper-level spiced slider to try. While the medium tasted better, they both had a bitterness that I'm not a fan of. I got full fast from the heaviness and couldn't even finish one tender. If you like hot chicken, give it a try. I would rather wait at In-N-Out than Dave's though.

Man, when a Dave's Hot Chicken craving hits, you gotta scratch that itch! I drove 100 miles round trip for this, and it was totally worth it! I had been craving some Dave's for a few days now, and decided that on Saturday, I would drive down here from Surprise to get lunch. I parked in some shade outside, and walked in. I was immediately greeted by Jocelyn the cashier as well as a few others. Nice touch! I knew what I wanted already, so I didn't have to scan the menu. I went with a #2, Hot, with cheese fries and a drink. Total was right under $20.00. Seems steep, and kind of is, but I will gladly bust out my Andrew Jackson every single day of the week for this chicken! No questions asked! How was it?.............. #2- This is 2 sliders, and I upgraded my fries to cheese fries. So freaking bomb! Dave's sliders are massive. They are more like a full size chicken sandwich at most places, and the good thing about Dave's is that they are pretty consistent with the sizes. At some places when you order tenders or sliders, you always get that one skimp ass piece of chicken. Not here! All their tenders are large, plump and juicy, filled with flavor. I go with Hot and it tingles the lips and makes my nose run just a bit, but it's still super flavorful and not "burn your mouth hot" which I don't enjoy. The cheese fries are delicious! Crinkle cut fries covered with a ton of melted cheese sauce. So good! You get some pickles on the side, and a cup of Dave's sauce as well as a few packets of the stuff, too. Coke products to drink which is awesome...I prefer Coke to Pepsi and had myself quite a few Cherry Cokes. Service was incredibly friendly. Jocelyn the cashier was welcoming and nice as can be. And the lady (didn't catch her name) who was calling out the orders was very friendly, too. The only negative thing I can say about my lunch was that there were quite a few flies chilling on the window in front of me. It's Summer, it's hot, I understand, but you don't really want to be looking at flies swooping down at your meal while trying to eat. Anyways...........besides those flies, everything else was spotless and brand new, including the bathroom. I really wish and hope they expand out to the West Side, soon. Surprise has a ton of space right there on Waddell and the 303 (hint, hint) and we would love one out here! Until then though, when another craving hits, I'm sure I will be back in my car doing the 100 mile trip again. Dave's Hot Chicken is bomb! I'm a huge fan and will always come back!

Not bad. There's better out there, but if you have the craving, it is an okay option. Chicken is hot, but they serve it quick, ready-made. It isn't crispy like other places. The slaw was tiny compared to the meat and bun. Combos are okay priced, but it's just a chicken sandwich We asked if they could substitute a slice of bread with more slaw, but they said no. The slaw they gave was like a measly table spoon scoop. Sheinkflation is a thing, but they made it obvious.

Women handling pick up orders was very sweet but unfortunately my family order a handful of items and they were dry which is unusual at this place /: A family member was very disappointed with their food. They ordered extra hot and the spice level was so mild. We love Dave's hot chicken so hopefully this improves!

We like Dave's hot chicken. We crave for it at times. Chicken in the tenders and the sliders is very juicy and well cooked. The only downside is it's very oily. Dave's sauce is one of the best. We like spicy food, so we tried Reaper, it's not worth it. Reaper is way too spicy. No wonder they made us sign the waiver.

It ran about $16 which I thought was a bit pricy. It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive but was worth the wait. The chicken was juicy and the spice is a dry rub. The sauce is awesome, similar to Canes or 1000 island. I felt like it wasn't really all that spicy so you may want to order on the hotter side. The crinkle cut fries were on point as well Will return again soon!

Absolutely delicious! The Mac n cheese is a bit on the soupier side but I really enjoyed the seasoning on the fries (&the cheese!) and chicken. I got the medium level for heat. Staff was friendly and the service was quick. Will certainly be going back!

I was sooo excited to try this place out. I stopped by on Thursday right before their Friday grand opening and the line was not bad. There were about 4 cars ahead of me and the line moved quickly. The girl that was taking the orders outside on the tablet was super nice. She made some small talk with us while she took our order and even gave us some recommendations. Her tablet was giving her issues, but no biggie for us. We ordered the sandwich and one tender combo - medium spice and one sweet tea. Waited about 15 minutes for our food. Pulled up to the window and the girl was rude AF. No hello, no welcome nothing. I know its a new location and she's a new employee but she left a sour taste in my mouth. She blurted out my total, grabbed my card, and then basically shoved the bag in my face. She didn't even say thank you or anything and just stared at me while I drove away. Horrible. The food? The tender was blah. It had a lot of breading though and I wasn't a fan of the powdery chili that its covered in. The sandwich was definitely not my fave. They put coleslaw on it which causes it to get soggy and then it all just ends up falling apart. Its messy. Then we got a random slice of bread... I didn't know what to do it with it...... The fries were my favorite and the only thing I liked. The sweet tea? Gross. It tasted like what a thrift store smells like, and to make it worse, they gave it to me warm with barely any ice. Please pass on the sweet tea and this place.. I really don't see what the hype is... I'm going to stick with the other two chicken places that are literally feet away from this place. Reallly wanted to give this place two / three stars because the one girl was nice but the food and the other girls attitude equals a one star..

A famous hot chicken chain that has finally set foot into Arizona. The story is amazing on how they started and very glad to see it expand to here. With a recent opening, it was no surprise to see this place busy at the drive-thru and dine-in. Ordering was a breeze and the menu is not complex but simple. We ordered a #3 Combo that includes two chicken sliders and side of fries. Had the chicken in mild spice level with addition of cheese slices for an extra price. To top things off we ordered a side of mac and cheese. The food came out pretty quick with a wait time of 15 minutes. Food looked great and appealing! Everything was presented very neatly and looked stunning. As for the taste..... a bit disappointing. The taste of the chicken wasn't amazing or mind-blowing and had a bland taste. Perhaps it's better to try medium spice level, but the dry rub here wasn't catching to our tastebuds. The chicken itself was cooked thoroughly, but not as juicy as I had hoped. Was dry throughout and no wow factor. On a positive note the bread was very good and tasty along with the additives of pickles and coleslaw to complement the sandwich. The fries were very crispy and delicious and makes a great side dish. Lastly, the mac and cheese had potential, but also missed a step. The macaroni was overcooked and very mushy. Looking around I can see the restaurant has the potential to be great. Everyone enjoying their meals with plenty of seats inside and outside for any amount of parties. The workers were working fast and very appreciative to how attentive they were working. I would come back again and try a spicier level as I might have gone during an "off day".

I tried Dave's Hot Chicken for the first time about a month ago. My first impression when I saw the menu was "what the heck?" I saw two tenders with fries and no drink was just under 12 dollars! I almost backed out of the drive-thru line! I'm glad I didn't. When I received my meal I realized everything was clearly made to order because it was piping hot. The pieces of chicken were very large, very juicy, all white meat, not rubbery in the slightest bit (I'm looking at you right now Cane's) and the mild seasoning added just the right amount of flavor. The fries also had a bit of seasoning on them which made them taste pretty good. I think it might be the same seasoning they use for the mild chicken. I liked the chicken so much I've been back a couple times since that first visit. I even brought my Uncle who is picky about food and he really like it as well. All the staff I have interacted with so far has been friendly and helpful.

Dave's is the California chain that has tried to make a bid at commericializing the Nashville hot chicken flavor that has become the spicy alternative to Southern fried chicken. The chicken at Dave's is nicely cooked, and spice is both reminiscent of true Nashville hot chicken spice and yet adds a unique sweet twist. The pricing is reasonable, and the theme of the chicken shop is clearly urban culture. All that, with decent chicken, and Dave's still comes in a distant 3rd in Phoenix metro area for Nashville hot chicken flavor. The new Dave's hot chicken location in Gilbert AZ is located on the south east corner of Stapley and Baseline Rd. Its recent opening has both shrunk the lines at nearby chicken houses "Canes" and "Chick Fil A" and tried the patience of the block long line of cars that wait for a taste of Dave's. I've made 2 visits to Dave's in 3 days, and each time the wait of 20 minutes for dining in was worth the delay. The flavor of Dave's Hot Chicken includes a dry spice that is cooked nicely into the chicken breast tenders that they serve. But they are serving tenders, not the bone-in whole or quarter chicken breasts as the traditional Nashville hot chicken purists will know. The spice is dry applied before being deep fried and isn't dusted on post cooking, as is evident from the fact it cooks into the skin and fat. The crust of the chicken skin is very nice. But aside from the spice one can also taste sweet sugar. Dave's has blended in sort of sweet glaze into the spice, which is actually kind of unique for Nashville hot chicken. I personally don't want the tinge of sweet, but it is easy to see why so many people get addicted to Dave's.. sugar does that to you. The spice levels at Dave's are not at all that hot. I tried medium, all the way up to Reaper. The highest spice level at Dave's os thr equivalent of a true Nashville hot chicken medium spice. Dave's is clearly playing to the public penchant for moderate heat and topping it off with a little sweet. If you intend on trying to get a burn from Dave's, you may be disappointed. Still the flavor is good, and the chicken is cooked nicely. The prices, quantity of the tenders, and size of each tender tell a story of a good stab at commercializing Nashville hot chicken, but surrendering to small serving sizes, and watered down spices level to do so. I don't begrudge Dave's for their approach, but I won't go there to get the best hot chicken in Phoenix metro area- that crown still sits on the Crazi's Hot Chicken counter (with Monroe's come in a distant 2nd place). Still Dave's is worth eating if it saves the drive. And it is the nicest facility of all three to eat in, with its plentiful seating and moderated music levels. I will return to Dave's, but not as often as Crazi's.

The BEST chicken sandwich EVER!! Hands down! The fries are also very good and perfectly seasoned!!! MY MOUTH is on though. Since this was my first time here, I thought I'd start off with something light and I got the chicken sandwich and fry meal and I'm glad that I did because that was enough food for me. Had I gotten more I'd have leftovers which, isn't so bad but, I wanted to make sure that I loved it first. They didn't fail me at all!!! I'm definitely returning but next time, my spice level will be mild and not medium as I sit here with Mouth on fire They should also "insist", not recommend a beverage or at least, automatically give you water. If that's how medium taste, I can imagine how hot the hottest choice is. I definitely recommend stopping here and clearly so do others as the drive thru and the inside were busy. The cashier Alexa M. was really nice and deserves a customer service award for his hospitality and quickness
