I recently visited a hair salon , and I was blown away by the experience! As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and luxurious, creating an inviting and energetic vibe. The decor was stunning, and it felt like a little oasis. But what truly made my visit memorable were the receptionists. Their warm welcomes and bubbly personalities instantly put me at ease. They were attentive and genuinely seemed to care about my request... Highly recommend this salon for anyone looking to pamper themselves!

I’m absolutely in love with my hair!!!! I only trust a select few people with my hair texture and Amy has now been added to the roster. She was able to achieve exactly what I was looking for and she walked me through each step of the process along the way. I will definitely be visiting her chair again!!!

Amazing experience at David Chad each time I go!! I get my services done by Wil and my hair has never looked this healthy and amazing!! My layers and color always look great and I’ve recommended so many family and friends to this salon!! They make you feel seen and heard and everyone is kind. I had the best experience with Jess Rose at David Chad! She was absolutely amazing with my color, highlights, haircut, and styling. Jess somehow understood exactly what I wanted without me even having to say much! she just got it. My hair looks and feels incredible, and I left the salon feeling so confident. She’s truly talented, attentive, and has such a great energy. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for beautiful, natural results and an overall wonderful salon experience!

Hillary is truly the best! She completely transformed my hair color and made me feel like myself again. Wanted to give a huge shout out to David Chad who moved around the schedule today to help my daughter get her color fixed after a bad job done at another salon when she needed to get back to school. After doing a personal consultation David and the colorist really went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect and it came out fabulous and everyone was so nice!

If you're searching for a new salon - David Chad is it! I have been coming here for quite some time. Jayda has been highlighting and cutting my hair. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She makes you feel right at home! She is attentive and gives me exactly what I ask for. I never have to worry. The salon is always very busy but it doesn't feel crowded. The space is beautiful and all of the other staff are sweet. Nancy always washes my hair and she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Going to get my hair done at David Chad is always one of my favorite days of the month!

I called for a last minute appointment and they were able to squeeze me in with Rachel. She did an amazing job on my blow out - I wish I lived closer because I'd come back all the time!

After spending two hours trying to find a best hair salon I came across this place. My haircut was ok. My stylist did not really recommend anything. It was not bad but I have had better haircuts

Well I get my hair cut and colored by Sahony. She is Amazing! I finally found someone who gives me the light blonde highlights I have wanted! I always love my hair when I leave here. All the staff seems to be friendly. After a horrible bayalage ? Please excuse the spelling I'm not sure, and the colorist arguing and refusing the blonde I chose off her chart, at a top rated Nutley NJ salon, I can't be more happy! Plus Sahony does the very color I request. You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you just do!

Amazing service and a maestro as always. Worth traveling to if you're anywhere near, the best in the area. 5+ Stars.

David Chad management does not provide a receipt for services at time of purchase. They use a convoluted, archaic system to send receipts via email which never arrives. Explanation provided was that "our computer system sent you an email, but unfortunately we cannot resend the email receipt." Salon may look glam on the outside, but their communication email system is not customer-friendly.

I visit weekly for blowouts. Jessica Rose, Jacqueline and Ann are fantastic. I also go to Erica for facials and my eyebrows. Erica is the best!! They have a wellness center on third floor that includes a sauna, massages, cryo and more. The staff is professional and kind. As soon as you step into David Chad you feel like you're on vacation. The salon is in an old bank and the architecture is simply magical.

New to the area, I went here for a blowout. It was a great blowout that lasted a few days. I had a wedding that evening and was able to have my blowout stay for 3 days. I was really happy with the results. The prices were on par for a blowout in the area. I tried to go back recently but unfortunately, they were all booked. You need to plan out your blowouts because reservations are a must here!

I couldn't be more angry in the stylist and lack of concern from this salon. Instead of getting the service that I made an appointment for, I received nothing but excuses from the stylist for why she couldn't do it. When I told the color that I wanted, she kept saying, "Yeah, I get it," and kept motioning to her hair. If I had known that she couldn't do it and was just yesing me, I would have walked out, and I wouldn't have wasted hundreds of dollars and a tip. Money that I couldn't afford to waste. She made it clear she didn't have the time and she didn't care either that she made a mess of my hair. She didn't have the knowledge on how to achieve my color. She shouldn't have a license. I wish that I never went to this salon or stylist. I could have gone to a great stylist elsewhere. I won't ever go back there!

I've been a few times, Chris always does my color and he never fails to disappoint. My hair is very dark so coloring my hair always takes a long time but Chris has amazing patience with me. Overall this salon is the best in town. Every employee is so friendly and you can tell they take pride in their work. The owner, David, is extremely generous and just a really great guy! 100% recommend to everyone!

I found this place on Groupon and I'm so happy I did! I got a Balayage, trim and style. I am so very happy with my Balayage, done by Kara. She really took her time with it and it's my favorite hair color I've ever had. The salon is cute and clean. The prices seem fair (I used a Groupon). I went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy, so a lot of people must enjoy their services like I did! Aside from my hair, I saw a lot of other customers leaving with beautiful hair as well! Update: the salon manager contacted me through yelp message re: my initial review. She offered to make this situation right and I cannot be more pleased with her response to what happened. Not only will I take her up on her offer but I will also give the salon another try. It was killing me that this was my first experience here when I've heard so many good things from my family and the yelp reviews also speak for themselves. So thank you again to David Chad for reaching out and changing my first impression! ----------------------------------------------- My mother and sister come here regularly for blow outs and they really like it. Unfortunately I can't comment on anything other than a ridiculous experience trying to get a gift card from this place this past Sunday. Granted this is the very first time I've stepped into this place the building itself is beautiful and so is the inside absolutely gorgeous decor but that's as far as the good got that day... so I asked the woman At the front desk if I can get $100 gift card for my mother for her birthday but the woman apologized and said that she was brand new and actually didn't know how to do the gift cards on the computer...she asked me to hold on and went around the salon looking for someone to help her. About 15 minutes later she came back with a response that no one in the entire salon knew how to issue a gift card to a customer and then she asked if there was anyway I could come back another day? first of all if this was really the case and you were not trained on how to issue a gift card to a customer which is actually really insane if that's the case, that's the last thing that you should say to the customer; you should literally try every possible avenue to figure it out.. I literally was going to hand this woman $100 cash and she turned me away, not only that but that was the last day that I could've gotten a gift card for my mother since the next day with her birthday and I wanted to have a gift in her hand so I went down to another salon in Caldwell and instead got the gift card there. I really hope that the owner is reading this and sees how ridiculous this situation was. They missed out on $100 exc and since it was my very first time walking into the salon and for this to happen, it will probably be my last.

If I could give zero stars I would. The most unprofessional salon that I have ever went to. What's the point of an appointment if they don't honor it. The stylist left in the middle of doing my hair to go take care of someone else's hair. It was unreal! I will never go back.

I just have to start off by saying I never leave reviews because I'm usually always disappointed. This is not the case with David Chad Beauty Parlor! Everyone there is so nice if you're ever in the area and you need a haircut or color I definitely recommend Chris! He is kind, honest, and an amazing hair stylist. He has honestly changed my view on hair stylists in general! His work is amazing and he listens to what you want, but also tells you the truth. My hair has been so much better off now that I met Chris! Please check this place out!! You won't regret it!

I made an appointment here due to the positive Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. My stylist was Jen E. and she was amazing. She took the time to look over my hair and provide advice before we jumped in. I felt like she cares about her work and the outcome for her clients. I became a platinum blonde with a great short haircut. I will definitely be returning.

Love it here and LOVE Meghan. Easy to find parking, look for spots behind Grocery store. Clean! On time. Free coffee. Blow out deal is very worth it. Been coming here now for a few months and always happy with results. So convenient for me and always a good vibe here. Very happy with my hair, always look younger and better than when I came in.

Love this place! Visted for the first time for a haircut and my stylist Lauren was amazing. I was nervous to try somewhere (& someone) new but I am SO happy I did. I have long straight hair and am extremely picky when it comes to haircuts. I deff needed a decent trim, all of my layers were basically grown out and my hair was just so blah. She really took the time to understand what I was looking for and I left the salon with hair I'm completely obsessed with. You also can't beat the prices- I used to pay $120 to get my haircut in Montclair and that didn't even compare to the haircut Lauren gave me. Making my next appointment with her for a glaze and I cant wait!!!!

I love this place everybody was so nice and accommodating and squeezed me in last minute I got my hair done for my nieces wedding and it came out amazing and I got so many compliments I will definitely be back next time I'm in town

I booked in a single process and a blow out. They took me on time, asked what I want but then my color turned out to be red and too light... when I especially said I don't want it to be light.... plus at the end charged me for a hair cut as well with extra $60 plus.

I literally walked out of the salon moments ago and cannot stop raving about my hair cut and color. It is stunning! I have dark, long, straight, flat, hair with zero body. I've bounced from salon to salon recently and haven't been able to find someone I really liked . . . until now! Sahony is pure magic! She took the time to listen to my thoughts and look at the pictures I brought for hair ideas. She understood me perfectly. Occasionally, she politely juxtaposed her ideas against mine and asked me what I preferred. And, of course, I went with her suggestion. I cannot tell you how stunning my hair is! I haven't had hair like this in years . . . if ever! The color, the cut, the balayage or highlights or whatever she did are all just amazingly perfect! The woman has magic hands. And as proof of that, during my cut one of her other customers came in to get her hair done and I remarked that I had never seen someone walk into a salon with such great hair to get it done. The woman told me that that is a normal hair day for her now because of Sahony. AMAZING!

Went to David Chad today. Absolutely loved Jamie. Blonde is a hard color to get right the first time but she did. Nothing like a great hair experience to make a woman feel good about herself

I had a balayage treatment done by Kara and I absolutely LOVE it! My hair is black so it's difficult to color but she really did an excellent job and I love the results.

I had partial highlight and it was perfect with no frizz or even dry, it was great! The lady did it was so professional. My only disappointment was the amount of highlight done. My fault I arrived late that day, she was honest and told me that she won't do me the full amount because of the time however I thought the money I paid would give me more highlights. She promised if my hair needs more highlight she would add more later but then I was told If i want to come later I have to pay again. Now I have to come back again and add more highlights with another 125$ maybe. I love how the staff are too friendly, I came back for a haircut and they were more than perfect!

I hate to have to do this but my hair was destroyed. Just moved to the area and trying to find a salon. She burned my hair - I guess with the dye, so I lost the length I had been growing out. It's a frizzy mess and the roots that needed touch up were still there on one side. Somehow, when she blew it out and I left the salon, it looked fine, even though I didn't like the style. But when I washed it the next day, frizz and all broken hair along my forehead. Now I'm paying someone else to hopefully fix it.

stylists here are great consultants that talk you through what you want in hairstyle and color. I wanted a dramatic color change and Nikki did an amazing job to first let me know what she will do to my hair and assess the progress to make sure nothing went wrong. I'm really happy with the way everything turned out. My only suggestion is that when you ring a customer up after the session is over to go through what EXACTLY was done (glazes, conditioners, highlights...) so the overall price is completely justified. I was fine with how much I paid, though the front desk seemed a little whispery at the end, which made the paying experience a little weird for me.

I've been looking for a great salon since moving to the area two years ago and I don't know what took me so long to end up here! Convenient location, great space and amazing service. Chris cut and colored my hair, and took plenty of time to consult with me before and during the service. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Will definitely be returning!!

Came in today for the first time and had my hair done by Mag... and I loved it! She took me in as soon as I arrived at the salon and offered me water. I am normally very nervous about getting my hair cut at salons because I have an emotional attachment to my long hair, but Mag made me feel comfortable and I let her do her thing. She gave me great layers without taking too much off, which is exactly what I wanted. She gave me a great blow out too by giving my hair a slight curl that added more body. I agree with the previous reviewers - the salon is adorable and in pristine condition. Everyone that works there is genuine and personable and accommodating. Your hair is cut the way YOU want and no one there tries to push you to buy extra products at the end. Finally a salon in Caldwell that I like!

I went in to change my hair color from brunette to blonde and showed stylist a picture. She said we can definitely do that and i looked nothing like the picture. Not to mention that I was there for 3 hours for just color. I then called the next day because i just was not satified and paid a lot of money. No one ever called back. I was truly disappointed.

I usually go to David Chad but my stylist left so I decided to try a new one. I overall liked my haircut and color since I haven't had my hair done in months. I go to pay and was shocked by the price. It was a lot to say the least. I feel like I should have been informed that the prices were raised that drastically. It is not reasonable even for a high end salon. As much as I love my hair I will not be going back. I just want to warn others before they go because I wasn't. This is more to inform customers and not to bash them.

I had went here to get a color correction and used Sahony. She is amazing at what she does. My hair is very very damaged and a lot of it has fallen out, broken off, fried. It looked so dead and blah. My long, full hair was just getting worse and worse. I really didn't think it could be fixed while it was healing. Well I decided to try David chad since they are right by my house and Sahony did the impossible. In one try she helped my hair look blended and not one big dry bleached head. She was able to make it look a million times better and usually this is a process. I am very happy with her. She tells it how it is, she takes her time, she knows what she is doing, and she cares. I'm now on my way to getting my hair Back to the length and color it should be! The salon is big and pretty. Everyone in there seems very nice. I'm beyond happy with her. I found a awesome person for my hair and also a friend in her! If you need color correction she is your girl!

I think the biggest downfall was that if your hair is very long they won't be able to fit your hair in the sink to wash it. It ends up being a tangled birds nest of doom. My hair had never been that bad since the time I got my hair braided in the Bahamas when I was 8 and left them in for a month because I loved them so much. It KILLED my head having those girls trying to detangle my hair and for sure did a lot of damage. Nightmare... As for the color... I might have just gotten someone new who didn't know what they were doing, but overall I just had a really terrible experience. I wanted a balayage. I ended up having to return to get my hair fixed, but it ended up just getting worse so I went somewhere else who could actually do it. Turned out for the best though because I found a hair dresser that I absolutely LOVE at brick and beauty in parsippany. Even my friends go there now, too. Give it a shot!

Love this place! I went to so many hair salons but no one was able to satisfy me like Kara at David Chad! She is absolutely an amazing hair colorist and stylist. Never going anywhere else!

My daughter got an updo here for her first communion and it was perfectly done by Jamie...Age appropriate, cute, yet formal. I don't know how Jamie did all that in less than 45 minutes. This was our first time here and Jamie was sweet and professional from beginning to end. Thanks again

Found this stylish boutique salon through Groupon. I am so glad I found David Chad Beauty Parlor- a hidden gem. I immediately went on Facebook and messaged them to see if they had any openings the next day (Sat) The owner himself, David Chad replied within minutes and booked me with the wonderful, professional and mastermind of a blow out Jaime. I get a blow out every Sat. rain or snow. There was just a wonderful atmosphere, this salon went above and beyond. From the scalp massage that has a foot rest, to the delicious coffee that was served to me and Jaime who listened to what I wanted and skillfully styled my hair. She is a very sweet, conscientious person, and I really enjoyed talking with her. The front desk hostess and shampoo assistant were very friendly as well. I would definitely return and request Jaime again. I would definitely come back to David Chad's for future visits.

Just wanted to share what a terrible experience i had at the salon on Friday. As it was my first time there i went on a friends recommendation that this would be the perfect location to stop for curls after work before heading to a wedding that evening. My appointment , which i made a month in advance , was at 3pm. By 3:20 i had not yet been started. After the third person checked on me asking who i was there to see , i alerted them of my situation that i had a wedding to attend and could not wait any longer. I was then informed that the stylist was running very behind and an assistant offered to start my service or take care of it. I reluctantly agreed as i was in a time crunch and had no alternative. While i appreciate The assistant stepping in to assist , it was quite unsettling when after showing the picture of what i wanted and describing "simple beach waves for my shoulder length hair" she Proceeded To ask which of two curling irons to use. This was very frustrating as i have no possible idea and was at the salon to have the curls professionally done. She tried her best and basically curled my hair twice to get as close to my desired style As possible- however it took about double the time and i eventually had to leave. The assistant did her best and i appreciate her efforts as she was the only one to acknowledge the situation and apologize. However this was not the experience that i was expecting from such a highly recommended salon. Just wanted to pass along the feedback so that this does not happen to others, i unfortunately will not be back.

Gina Nicole is the best lash technician EVER! I travel over an hour to her, and would travel 2 if I had to. She does an amazing job, and my lashes last so long with minimal shedding. I LOVE my 3D lashes

This is my first time here and I am beyond satisfied! I had always wanted to get a balayage done and I am very happy I chose to get it done here. I made an appointment and they chose a Kelsey for me to do the balayage and she did an amazing job! She was super friendly and very accommodating to what I wanted. However, I think it got super busy so after she washed my hair, Kara finished it with a trim and style as Kelsey had to move on to a different client. But everyone there was super nice about it! David, the owner, was there and he was so funny and was very wonderful and offered great advice. Also, they offered free water or coffee. Best thing ever since I went at 10AM and I was very tired so the coffee was a great pick-me-up. Fortunately, when I made the appointment, the day I went, they had a special on a balayage so I only paid $100 for everything and my hair is super long and thick too. Overall, the atmosphere of the salon was very friendly and very bright. Would definitely recommend it here!!

I've been going to David Chads for a little while to get my eyebrows done once every few months. Erica is really great and patient- Please note I have sensitive skin and she will take her time to pluck and shape them for me. I have also gotten my hair highlight and cut by Kara ( she is amazing). I was a little nervous at first I came in with long blue/ gray hair with regrowth from my prior highlight. I wanted a cute long bob and a partial highlight. She worked her magic and I walked out of there feeling like a super star. Highly recommend!!!

An awesome beauty parlor. Beautiful , but more importantly, you feel welcomed no matter what your age is. You will be welcomed by an assistant who will offer coffee or water or take you to your stylist. The stylists are all very talented. My stylist , Jen E. Is super talented. She is accommodating in every way. She suggests what color and style would suit you. I am always receiving compliments on my hair thanks to Jen. Jen is friendly, warm and so knowledgeable and talented with hair. Been going to David Chad for years and they are consistent . You won't regret making an appointment.

Really disappointed. Went here based on the reviews. Got color and a cut. It's taken forever to grow my hair out so I made sure the girl who was cutting me knew that. I did NOT want to cut a lot. Just a trim. I ended up with a blunt cut with two-three inches taken off. Looks like a mullet. Short in the front and long in the back. Horribly disappointing. Will not return.

I came here on New Year's Eve after not cutting my hair for the past 2 years. I'm emotionally attached to it. I got my haircut with Jessica. She was so nice! Took me in right away, asked if I wanted something to drink. I wasn't sure as to what I wanted to do but I told her what I didn't want and she went with it. She was so professional and really did exactly what I (didn't) ask for. :) My hair looked great! It's been a while since I've felt so positive and trusting about a hairstylist/salon. Totally recommend it!!

If you need a blow out Giuliana is your girl. 20 minutes from start to finish and you walk out looking like Hollywood.

Best salon ever! Jen has been my stylist for over 10 years and I would never go anywhere else. She does an amazing job and everyone in the salon is so friendly and inviting.

Found this salon in another salons negative review recommending it. I'm so glad I did! I scheduled a last minute full foil and blow out which they happily accommodated!! Denean was my stylist and I'm in love with the result. She did a through consultation before hand with me as a new client and really listened to me. I had my infant with me as well and she was so sweet when I needed to feed her during my blowout. Both my mom and sister in law are going to make appointments with her because they loved the blonde that she did!!

Best salon around! I've been going to Jen E. for many years and she never disappoints! Very talented and customer focused team and owner. Comfortable, non-intimidating environment. Reasonable pricing. Plenty of services offered. Love David Chad!
