This drcwas given to me for pain mngmt!!! He will hav you see a student but you will hav hell trying to see dr AFTER A LONG WAIT.. . He will give you an injection (and good luck) trying to see him....theses Dr's snt care....just abt the money.... Then office has made many mistakes and when you call back (4-5 times) they finally pick up with attitude!!!!! VOICEMAIL STAYS ON FULL ON PURPOSE DNT WASTE YOUR TIME BCUZ DR CHOW DOESNT!!!!

Had a complicated and difficult surgery with Dr Chow. Odds were long the two torn tendons were fully repairable. He did amazing work and I'm well on my way to being back to100%.

This review is less about the physician, and more about the practice. When I first arrived, I was a bit put off by the staff's dower demeanor and general confusion about what was going on. They seemed to know nothing about my referral. Then they gave me a large set of forms to fill out. They were photo copies of photo copies, barely legible, and they asked for the same information over and over. Is this the 1970's? Consolidate your forms and save everyone time and energy. But the most frustrating thing was my follow up appointment. It was scheduled for a time, I show up, and they say "oh sorry, you're not on the schedule". WTF? I watched them put me into their computer to schedule this appointment, so how did it just disappear? They completely wasted my whole day. I should send them a bill as they would me if I hadn't shown up. Given how expensive health care is today, we, as patients, deserve better. I'd encourage Dr Chow, whom I like, to perhaps find another practice or refresh the staff.

I am so upset..I'm shaking and crying. I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday, June 29th. Unfortunately I had to cancel it because there's a death in the family, Monday June 26th. I called the main office at 11a from the Brentwood Office (I had an appointment with Dr.Chow for my monthly checkup, Tuesday June 27th) to cancel . I was told I needed 72hrs to notify them or I will have to pay $150 cancellation fee. I told the gentleman it wasn't in my control that my uncle died. He said to call back and talk to "CYNTHIA" and tell her the situation. So I waited to hear back from her all day and she did NOT call me back. This morning Wednesday, June 28th 9:20a I called the office. I spoke to the same guy and he said, Cynthia is not available. I reminded him my situation and put me on hold. He came back on the line and told me Cynthia said, you should have called the office on Monday. I told him, my family and I weren't notify about his passing until late afternoon. Cynthia said, you still need to pay the $150 cancellation fee until you show proof your Uncle died. I left an urgent message to Dr. Chow and I'm waiting to hear back from him. I've been going to Dr. Chow for "6 YEARS". I've only missed TWO appointments. I think that's a good track record. I never missed a surgery appointment (I had 2 with Dr. Chow).

This place is basically a steroid injection factory. I have heard this from other patients as well - directly, and through other practitioners. Dr. Chow is good at what he does, but he has chosen big profit over actually paying attention to his patients and providing the best care possible. He and his team are dismissive and inattentive. I have received several injections, and they actually helped, but I won't be going back to him to get my next one. I don't think he even reviewed my records before he came into surgery for my last injection (1.5 hours late and I was the FIRST patient of the day), but the front office claims he reviews all records before sending them to another doctor so it takes 3+ weeks to have the records forwarded. I would have loved that much care and attention while I was actually being seen by Dr. Chow. Try to find another doctor before going here, even though most doctors refer to him. There are a lot of other doctors that can provide better pain management. They might even respect your schedules and show up on time.

No stars for this clown act. The office staff consistently malfunctions their calendar on short notice. The seem to be unknowing of some pertinent info. The Dr. has a manner befitting a dead person. We've got placed with this clown act due to an insurance claim stemming from a car accident.

Your life, sanity and wellbeing is not worth seeing this yahoo. My former doctor who is now retired, spent 7 years with me stabilizing me to the point of functionality. This joker took away my medication without even getting to know me or my dozen conditions. First time I went to him I was using a cane. Now I'm back to a wheelchair. I spend most of my days and nights crying from pain because some idiot thinks I took too much medication. He does not establish relationships with patients; he is missing vital muscles that help you smile and his bedside manner is that of Courtney Love, just not as put together. Please save yourselves the aggravation. He will only make your condition worse.

Skip this place. If your lawyer says that you must go to Dr Chow, say NO. They will find you someone more competent and one who sees you as a human not a dollar bill. And don't get me started on his office manager Cynthia who is rude, inept, unprofessional and had NO Business working with the public

Dr. Chow has zero bedside manner, does not seem to care one iota about his patient and has no communication skills whatsoever. His office is slow to return calls. When my mother, a patient for several years, needed an emergency treatment, he could not be bothered. He refused to adjust his schedule and would not fit her in. He would not explain his reason and basically just blew us off. Thanks Doc, we've had enough and we are going elsewhere. You should too!

Dr David Chow was absolutely awful. I had a 10am appointment and although my time in the crowded waiting room was short, my wait in the FREEZING exam room was an hour and a half! I finally stepped out to ask what the deal was (since I had scheduled my sitter only until 11:30, assuming I would be home by then!!) and they said he hadn't even arrived at the office yet!! It was 11:30am for a 10am appointment and he wasn't even there yet?!! And the staff didn't even have the common courtesy to let me know when I got there that he wasnt even there!! Inexcusable. When he did finally arrive, he walked into the exam room and said abruptly "so you are having back pain?"....not even an introduction (it was my first time there) or a hand shake or better yet...an emphatic apology for being SOOOOOO late?? No bedside manners what-so-ever. I felt like he scoffed at me that I wasn't interested in medication nor injections at this point - I wanted to explore healing my back through yoga, stretching, exercise, PT, etc. I definitely felt as though he was only interested in injecting me. He didn't read ANY of the 10,000 pages of personal health history I had to complete for the visit (waste of my time!) and he gave me what seemed like 1-word answers to my questions. I finally had to ask him to explain things to me in laymen terms since I wasn't a doctor and didn't understand the "medical terms" he was throwing at me without any explanation. He did about a 4 min exam and prescribed 4 weeks of PT. When I asked what the improvement rate typically is for a bulging disc with PT...he said it probably wont help much, but I should try it anyways. Great advice, doc. Needless to say, I was COMPLETELY disappointed by him. The only upside is that I got an MRI referral, so at least Im moving forward...and onto another back doctor!!!

Besides that you have to wait over an hour for a 3 min appt (even when you have an appt first thing in the morning) the office staff is rude. They lost my scans and I sent a receipt to be reimbursed for the new ones I had to order back in June and still have yet to receive the check. When I ask about what's going on they always have a different excuse. As a dr I'm sure he's fine but if this wasn't workers comp I would never go back because they are exhausting to deal with! They also offer little wiggle room with times and days to make an appointment and act like it is the patients fault for being busy. Go somewhere else if you have the option!
