I had the most incredible experience at David Mallett Salon! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the stunning interior. The atmosphere immediately set the tone for a truly luxurious experience. David himself is an absolute angel! My hair stylist made me feel completely at ease, listened to exactly what I wanted, and worked his magic to give me the most amazing wash, blow dry, and cut I’ve ever had. My hair has never looked this healthy or shiny. The attention to detail and personalised care is unmatched. I can’t recommend David Mallett Salon highly enough!

They went above and beyond to fit me in for a last-minute haircut during fashion week! Despite the chaos and busy schedule, David managed to work his magic and get me in. Not only did he take the time to listen to exactly what I wanted, but he also made sure the cut was perfect and suited my style. It’s rare to find someone so talented and accommodating, especially being Paris’s most famous hairstylist. The blow dry by Bruno was something else, the volume, the shine, the bounce!! I left feeling refreshed, confident, and completely satisfied. I can’t recommend them enough!

I highly recommend colorist Evelyn—she is truly a talented artist, bringing a touch of Parisian light to your hair! I have very long hair, and she managed to maintain its quality, leaving it soft and shiny. It’s like magic! The color lasts for months and grows out very naturally. Evelyn is also very attentive, considering your skin tone and natural colors. The salon has a chic, Parisian ambiance that feels like a scene from a movie, creating a wonderfully happy experience. It’s also a perfect place for a blow dry - absolutely worth it, I always leave with a huge smile.

I was visiting Paris and thought what better place to get my haircut than here. I had my haircut done by Yuta and wow I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing cut. I didn’t even have anything in mind. I just told him the feel I was going for and let him do what ever he felt and it turned out absolutely amazing. I highly recommend him.

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done at David Mallett during my Paris trip, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. My stylist Fabio was exceptional—his English was fluent, making communication seamless and stress-free. I went in for a bob cut, and he delivered exactly what I wanted, and he made it look so effortless. The whole experience was smooth and relaxing, and I left the salon feeling great. The place definitely lives up to its reputation. If you're looking for a talented stylist who really gets you, I highly recommend him!

I got a hair cut and blow dry with Barbara and I am obsessed with it! She was so gracious with my broken French and made me feel very comfortable. It’s amazing to see how she executed beyond my expectations - she’s a true perfectionist that cares about getting it right

Sometimes when you go to prestigious salons the people are snobby and you would think this being in Paris but David has truly created an atmosphere with down to earth professional and talented people. I loved everything about this salon. The atmosphere, energy, and vibe. Very cool. Bravo. I saw Alain for my cut and he was wonderful. Did exactly as I asked and immediately made me feel comfortable. And I saw Giorgio for my color who is so fun. Could stay all day hanging out with these people. I also had a keratin treatment which was a game changer for my hair. Highly recommend if your hair is damaged by heating products like mine. Merci David Mallett for creating this wonderful experience I will be back!

Google
Do not recommend! I went there persuaded by all the positive reviews but left disappointed and disgusted. The appointment started off fine as it should by discussing what’s there to be done and then got taken to the wash. After being washed by another person I had to wait seated for 15 min for the hairdresser to show up because he was still busy with the previous client. Few minutes after he had started to cut my hair next client arrived early and the hairdresser decides she’s more important therefore he left me once again in the middle of the cut for another 20 minutes. The cut ended up very poor and not symmetrical at all! It seemed as the hairdresser was picking up strands of hair and cutting them randomly. The brushes used were dirty and full of other people’s hair and no heat protection product was applied before the blow dry. Would never go there again and wish never went.

Yelp
I was given a referral to see Jacopo @ this salon when we transited through Paris. I asked for a wolf cut and am in love with it! It was cut very short so I have some time before I need another hair cut. I wish Jacopo would cut hair @ their NY salon so I could have him cut my hair again.

Yelp
Great stylists w real talent. Listen well to desires of clients. Loved my new cut/style; very flattering. Fanny knew just what to do. Pricey but worth it, and still better priced than nyc salons.

Yelp
Nice people but I paid way too much for the worst haircut of my life. Go somewhere else if you dont want trust issues

Yelp
Got my first official Parisian haircut and LOVVE it! Wow, somehow they made me look like a classic French Goddess just by cutting my hair Total pros, the ambiance, the entrance, the staff is the perfect French experience. The door was a little hard to find at first, just follow the scent of beautiful hair products

Yelp
Highly recommend David. A true hair artist can look at a subject, consider face shape, hair texture, and the look of the person, and create the perfect results. David has this talent, which is hard to find. He is passionate about his work, has the skills to create amazing results, and educates his staff so they can work towards being at his level. If you want a new look or just need to feel beautiful for the day, he is the man to consult!

Yelp
Don't bother going anywhere else. I visit paris often from New York and I will wait until I have a trip to see Fanny. She is the absolute best. Whether you are in Paris for a visit or you are a local, this is the best salon. Everyone is so lovely and cheerful and talented.

Yelp
Sadly I had a terrible experience here. I found the staff to be rude. They asked if I wanted something to drink and I said water. They practically threw it at me. I would not expect this from such a reputable place. Alain was so unenthused about cutting my hair. He seemed rushed and annoyed. I expected him to give me his professional opinion on options for my cut, but he didn't. The blow dryer he used also seemed very cheaply made and he put zero product in my hair for the blow dry. So completely disappointed in this place. So over priced for below average service. I would go elsewhere.

Yelp
Very expensive for the time and energy spent on my hair. I've lived in Paris for over 25 years and have gone to all the best hairdressers the city offers. My friend suggested to go to Sasha at the Ritz and apparently he is very good, as he was not available I went to the main salon and unfortunately did not get a good hairdresser. He barely cut my hair and the results were sub-par.

Yelp
I came in in March and Alain cut my hair. I can honestly say that as a hairstylist he has put the best square layers in my hair that I've ever had. It's July and I won't let anyone else touch my hair but him! I am in sunny Los Angeles but will fly to Paris twice a year to cut my hair!

Yelp
Louis DESTROYED my hair. Totally ignored my request NOT TO COLOR my hair just touch up roots which I stressed over and over. Instead he turned my pretty medium red brown healthy brown hair into a crazy MESS -- first by sticking bleach in layers, then adding dark toner without my knowledge. (So: he bleached my hair, blackened my roots, then put dark color over all it. Wow) I said over and over "Please don't color my hair. I'm OK with it". He joked that he'd make me dark purple. OMFG. F him. I have not eaten and have only cried for days. No means, no and he raped my hair. My quarter inch roots were treated several inches out and looks inky and totally effed up... David came in and was in shock too. They tried to wash the toner out, which washed out my kerotin treatment, luster, and shine. My hair is dry and brittle and breaking. Louis should not be touching anyone's hair. At the very least, he should be fired. I AM DEVASTATED. I won't be back in the US to see my Vidal sassoon trained colorist for 2 months. She is going to freak out.

Yelp
This is my new favorite best hair salon in NYC. I'd been carrying the same hair style for years but recently I got bored of the same and besides that, it was a high maintenance look for my busy city life. Thank god! Etienne #david-mallet @ thewebster gave me a great, wonderful new look and very easy to style it my self at home. I purchased the hair spray with the Australian salt and I love it!!!! smells delicious without being too strong and it give the right texture to my hair. I was so happy with my new hair cut that I decided to give them a try for color as well so, I went back to see them and my hair never looked so healthy and shiny after their amazing colorist "Anthony" @davidmallet put his hands on my head. The best of all don't feel bad if you don't speak fluent English. This salon offers a multi-language service. Yes!!!! you can communicate with the staff in Italian, Spanish, English, Russian and of course French. That's a OUI, OUI in this city!................ Always, looking forward to go back to pamper myself in this amazing salon. The space is so chic, well designed and in addition to that MARIO, at the front desk will take great care of you, either with a couple of french tea, water or the best tips for #dinning in NYC or-in case you are flying to Paris the next day-He'll tell you the best cool places where you could go to show off your "new look" while sipping a tasty glass of Cotes Du Rhone at the Parisian city. I'm so thrilled this salon is now in my home town!!!!!

Yelp
I made an appointment at David Mallett's over five weeks ago. Unfortunately, on the morning of my appointment I was hit by a car while walking around the Victor Hugo circle. Although I was not seriously injured, I was shaken up and so I canceled my appointment and explained the reason why in my email. I've been trying to reschedule the appointment for almost three weeks now and I have not once gotten a response back. I was really looking forward to my haircut at David Mallett but will now be taking my business elsewhere.

Yelp
I know this place has realllly good reviews all over the internet, so I don't know why my experience was so bad. First off though, everyone is so nice there. I'm not giving them a one because there is a mean one among them, for sure. They couldn't have been nicer to me. It was the quality of work, compared with their prices. First, I went in needing really simple highlights. Just the same ones I've been having for years, definitely nothing fancy. Blond highlights on light brown hair is all. First off, they took over four hours to do them. It seemed like they were too busy and not really paying attention. So by the time I was done, I just wanted out of there so didn't pay close attention to how they looked. But when I got home and looked in the mirror, my roots were orange. I started crying and called them back for help. Since I had a haircut appointment in two days, they told me to just come back then and get it fixed. So, I walked in and yes, they all agreed my hair indeed was orange. But first it had to get my haircut then they could fix the damage. So, the haircut cost 135 euros and they barely trimmed my hair. I asked to cut off the damaged ends so I could continue growing it, but she just lightly trimmed it, with absolutely nothing I couldn't do myself. But the real reason I am giving it a one star is that then I went back to get my highlights fixed. Holy cow. It took them two hours to "fix" them, but when she washed my hair it was still orange. I started crying in the salon. The girl blow drying my hair looked horrified. And pointed out more and more orange spots. So I went back under for MORE. By this time I was a wreck. Another two hours and damage to my hair. When we went back, there was still an obvious orange and my beautiful hair was an awful platinum color. By that point though, I was drained. I was also convinced they just don't know what they are doing. Why would my hair still be orange after three attempts? After I was sure yet would give me a new haircut, since my hair was beyond damaged now. But no, they just charged me 135 for the cut and 190 for the highlights. They actually tried to charge me another 100 for the correction, but James the receptionist talked them out of that :-( It's really hard, because they are the NICEST people. I still tipped them like a chump, because of their kindness. I just don't think they know what they are doing, which believe me I know is contrary to all the other reviews. I don't know. I feel so embarrassed that it cost so much and is so terrible.

Yelp
I had my hair cut and colored at the salon for my 50th birthday in April. It was a magical, memorable experience and one of the highlights of my trip to Paris. The salon is cool, chic and clean. and it's no surprise it's one of the top salons in Paris. The service is fantastic, and James the receptionist is great at scheduling appointments by email. Yes, it's expensive, but as long as you get a good colorist and stylist it's worth it. BEWARE as some of the colorists and stylists are better than others!! The results will depend on who you book with. Louis colored my hair, and Alain was the stylist who cut my hair. The cut and color were both excellent! Louis even went to the trouble of writing the formula down so that my colorist at home could try and copy it. Since I was so pleased with both the cut and color, I booked appointments for a return trip five months later. Unfortunately, I had to change the appointment several times due to changes in my travel arrangements. As a result, my appointments were booked with Rishi for the cut, and Sonia for the color. Rishi was super friendly and nice, but sadly, I ended up with a blah, boring, haircut with no shape or style whatsoever that I wanted redone the next day when I woke up. Sonia wasn't particularly friendly and the color was disappointing, especially considering I had photos from the color Louis had done several months before. The color was off, and it did not last. After having spent a lot of money I came home and had to have the cut and color redone! Very disappointing. I would go back, but only to have Louis and Alain. I'd read reviews and ask for recommendations before booking an appointment as not all colorists and stylists are the same and given how expensive the services are, you want to be happy when you leave.

Yelp
One of my best haircut/color experiences. The staff was very knowledgeable friendly and offer suggestions but still give you what you want- that's usually a rare occurrence and they have it down pat

Karen C.

Yelp
Really, no. Not worth your money or time. If you are a celebrity or important I'm sure your experience is fantastic. I've had much better for much less money in Paris. It's all marketing and very good marketing at that - definitely not service. I didn't even find the so-called fabulous design all that great and my blow-out was average at best. Save your money for something fabulous.

Andi D.

Yelp
I can say unequivocally that I've never had a salon experience that comes anywhere near the service, care, or skill of the stylists at David Mallett. There is something about the friendliness, and ability to laser in on exactly what your hair needs that makes this a place you can't wait to come back to....and what's even better is they treat you this way from the first time you go. I honestly didn't know this level of hair care existed 'til I found this salon.

Pamela B.

Yelp
Giorgio is the best colorist, I have been going to him for 10 years, I always come out of there with the best hair color ever, so natural, just perfect. David is the master of haircut, he is a genius, I have been flying to Paris just to get my color and hair done, now they opened in New York, just marvelous. The space is beautiful located in Soho, above the Webster store, so comfortable with beautiful daylight makes you want to spend the day and let yourself being pampered. Mario at the front desk make you feel at home. It's the best destination to get yourself the best color and hair cut also they do this treatment called the Tokio treatment which will make your hair shine, revitalized and brand new, you will see and feel the difference, don't miss out on it. I could continue and rave about this place and the people working there for hours, it feels like family, a happy and professional place to feel beautiful, A must go!

Yelp
My last day in Paris , what better than a great cut to take 10 years off me.. David's staff were lovely. I had great service throughout my 3 hours in the salon.

Qype User (BethAr…)

Yelp
Having your hair cut by David Mallett is one of the divine experiences in Paris. He is a master technician and a diviner of what your hair could and should be. I first called him after reading an article in French Vogue calling him the King of Transformation, and that was a red flag waving at me to make an appointment. I've been his loyal client ever since, and I expect only the best where my hair is concerned. His colorist, Giorgio, is the prince to David's king. Giorgio's colors are exceptional, and I'm a color stickler. In fact, David's whole staff is wonderful and welcoming and just what you want your stylist's staff to be--very talented to reflect his standards and sensibility. To top it off, the David Mallett salon is chic and comfortable at the same time. In fact, I'd be happy to live in the gorgeous and glorious space. What more can one ask for in a fabulously elegant salon? A celebrity clientele mixed with the melange of the rest of us? But of course! I highly recommend David, his staff, and the DM Salon experience! They are (and it is), unquestionably, the best in Paris. Pure luxury.

Yelp
This is a salon that is good as it gets. I have my hair cut by David Mallett. Such a down to earth and humble person, even though he does a lot of high fashion gigs. He loves being with his day to day clients. Excellent pre-cut discussion. Took a lot of time to get the cut right. Handed me off to a coiffeur to do the blow dry and then David came back to oversee the final result. Just great. Off the charts salon set in a large, classic French apartment. Overall a great experience. Plus, compared to the most expensive coiffeurs in NY and LA, his rates are quite moderate. Highly recommended. Be sure to reserve well in advance.

Judith D.

Yelp
I just went to David for the third time and, while it's a stretch for me, it's worth every Euro. I find his salon beautiful and organic. When I expressed a desire to grow out my gray hair, he supported me every step of the way...and actually encouraged me not to keep dying it. Each of the three times I've gone, my haircut has gotten shorter, which is helping me get rid of the frayed dyed ends quicker. Last week, however, he cut it shorter than I expected and I wasn't sure I liked it. Two days later, after I stopped comparing, I loved it...and I still do. The shape is incredible and I feel very sassy and feminine. Besides all that, David loves what he does and creates magic. I am so sorry for those women who had a bad experience...I can't imagine how that could have happened. David is the best stylist I've ever experienced and, even though I am neither famous nor rich, everyone makes me feel welcome.

Kay A.

Yelp
This salon is everything it is talked up to be. I had a haircut with Rishi. I walked in and was greeted with coffee and water. I sat down and Rishi went over our options. He cut my hair to perfection. Anyone who complains about the price here has never been to a nice salon in America. A senior stylist at David Mallet salon costs half of what I pay in LA. Please dont miss this brilliant hair experience.
