If you are interested in arts and crafts this is a great reason to visit Cambridge. Extraordinary story of a craftsman who hand painted houses ( including his own) and churches for some of the most famous designers such as William Morris - well worth a visit

Enjoyed a lovely tour today with Helen & Jill, both very knowledgeable volunteer guides. The tour was a great mix of social & historical context as viewed through the lens of the house and its extraordinary decoration. While I was there, an exhibition of contemporary art was also on display, with the works reflecting on craft & the use of text within the house. There were several wonderful Grayson Perry pieces. Very much enjoyed it all - thank you to the Trust in caring for the home & its history!

I attended a lino cutting course which was excellent. The Tutor was knowledgeable and able to help those who required it. The event was well paced and we all finished and printed off our designs. There was a plentiful supply of equipment and resources. Some participants took advantage of the opportunity to walk through the house. This was the first time I had attended a lino cutting course at this venue and would definitely book other courses here. It was good value for money and a way to learn a new skill or perfect the art of lino cutting and printing.

A really interesting tour of a unique house. The social history is as interesting as the devorative art. They only allow 6 people to tour at a time so that you can see the rooms and the decorative features without being too crowded. Knowledgeable guides.

A hidden gem! Open only Thursday and Saturday and the tours take only 6 people at a time, so do plan ahead as they can get booked up quickly. We had a fascinating tour with Jan and Jennie, who bubbled with enthusiasm for the house and its creator, David Parr. The house is full of tiny details and quirks, and you will wonder where the 1 1/2 hours has gone.

Friendly and welcoming guide. Fascinating house to visit if you love Victorian decor, Arts&Crafts Movement, time capsules, or social history like Back In Time for Dinner. A survival so much rarer than any stately home, and worth visiting as a result.

This home is a truly wonderful example of social and decorative arts history. You are taken back in time, you can imagine how the Parr family lived here and their love for the house. You will be amazed and I thoroughly recommend a visit; you will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful visit. Fascinating house, and a true delight to hear the stories of David Parr and his family. Our guides were brilliant - well informed, and pitched just right. Highly recommended.
