They might be great for their existing patients, but as a new patient, I didn’t get that experience at all. I waited, had one simple question, and they didn’t answer it. Communication for new patients needs real improvement.

David Pittman and and his team of hygienists are wonderful. They make sure your well taken care of and you leave with gleaming teeth! His advice is pragmatic and reasonable, a great dental office.

Highly recommended! Dr. Pittman and team have the best personality, making the experience highly enjoyable. I knew it while going there but after taking a job relocation and trying a new dentist, Dr. Pittman and team are the best in the business. When I decided to leave this review, it was no surprise when I saw that Dr. Pittman had all five star reviews. So here's another happy five star customer and to be honest the word customer doesn't even feel right feels more like a friends coming to see Dr. Pitman! Honest, reasonably priced and very good at what they do!

I've been going to Dr. Pittman for over 5 years. He and his staff are professional and upbeat. The building is charming and clean with good, convenient parking. The office is of a size that makes you feel like a known person and not a number. When I had a problem with a chipped tooth, Dr. Pittman worked on it three separate times (at no additional charge to the first time) until we were satisfied that it looked good. I hope he will be my dentist for years to come.

I used to hate going to the dentist! It meant I was going to be in pain. I am so happy to have found Dr. David Pittman and his staff. The office is very lovely, the people are warm and friend and Dr. Pittman is kind. I wish that I had a dentist this nice when I was a kid. Dr. Pittman and his staff are warm, caring, and committed. As far as price goes, their prices are in line, if not a little cheaper than other dentists. So I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Pittman, if you want a nice & friendly dentist and dental care that is top notch and pain-free. Edit: 8/6/2024: I have been going to Dr. Pittman for quite some time. I would NEVER change. I HAD to see a dentist to have a broken tooth pulled when I was out of state taking care of an elderly relative. It was horrible by comparison. Oh, he was an adequate dentist, but the care and concern was just not there. It hurt. It hurt putting the shot in. That's the worst part. But Dr.Pittman should give a MASTERCLASS in giving shots. I recently had to go to get some work done. It DID NOT HURT. Dr. Pittman takes his time to give the shot and to make sure you are numbed ahead of time. I can not tell you what a difference it makes when the dentist truly cares about his patients. He is friendly and caring, and you don't feel like you are on an assembly-line. I had a lot of dental work as a child due to living in the country with well water. As a result, I have a logged a lot of time in the dental chair. I wish I had always had Dr. Pittman. And he takes care to hire good people, so the staff are friendly too. You cannot ask for a better dental experience.

This is a great practice. I am so glad I was referred here. Very professional and personal service--they treat you like a valued customer--I felt instantly at home and comfortable. Very clean--Dr. Pittman is great and I don't think I have ever had such a thorough teeth cleaning! Thanks very much--I highly recommend this practice. Convenient, parking right behind building. No waiting.

I used to hate going to the dentist until my girlfriend brought me to Pittman in 2013. He and his staff are fantastic. During my 9 years with him, I had all my old silver fillings replaced with white ones, a few crowns done, cleanings and a filling. He also referred me to my invisalign orthodontist and worked alongside them for 2 years while my teeth where aligned. I moved away from nashville but otherwise would still be a client. Thank you David and team for always bringing out my smile.

I called to set up an appointment but they're not currently taking new patients but the receptionist was kind enough to give me referrals. I was really looking forward to being a client as I'm not wanting to go to my husbands dentist.

Dr. Pittman and his staff are incredible. I visited several dentists in the area to quote a replacement porcelain crown for my front tooth. I ended up choosing Dr. P because he is incredibly friendly and he quoted the most reasonable price for the procedure. I found that Dr. Pittman goes above and beyond for his clients. A long story short, we went through 3 porcelain crowns before we felt it matched in color and size. Basically, he wouldn't let me leave with a tooth I wasn't completely satisfied with. And now I absolutely love my new front tooth!

We love Dr. Pittman and his staff! Everyone is so nice and caring, and they are super nonjudgmental. I was worried that it had been a while since my last cleaning when I first went, but they put my mind at ease and worked with my insurance to fix up my husbands teeth. We've been consistent for a little bit now and it's all about Dr. Pittman and his staffs bedside manner and gentle touch that keeps us coming back.

Great dentist and great staff. The office is clean, Dr. Pittman is very friendly, and I was able to get right in at my appointment time. I was going to Green Hills Smiles, and they are also great. However, I was wanting to find a dentist that was closer to my work. Based on the equally good reviews for Dr. Pittman, I decided to try them out. The reviews were consistent with the service.

Dr. Pittman, Cristy and everyone have been nothing short of amazing every step of the way. Their communication, professionalism, safety, cleanliness, and facility are impeccable. I am someone who gets nervous about getting my teeth worked on and I always leave with a smile and feeling taken care of. They require everyone to where a mask and I am grateful they support all employees and customers feeling safe. When I met Dr. Pittman he said that he wants everyone who comes in to feel like family and I believe he's succeeding. I am getting a cap on a previous root canal and they have been so helpful working with my scheduling and communication along the way in addition to two great cleanings. Shout out to Cristy for helping me with my insurance company and electing that I pick up my mother in law on time from the airport rather than push it with my procedure appointment :) That support makes all the difference in my day. I can see why they are so busy and wish then nothing but growth and success.

Yelp reviews guided me here after a really poor experience elsewhere, and I couldn't be happier with my visit today. Front office staff were friendly and efficient. My hygienist, Katie, did a great job. Dr. Pittman was friendly & outgoing, and made me feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone new to town or looking to change dentists.

Truly an outstanding dentist. My personal experience has been Up & Beyond satisfaction. Dr. Pittman is very caring, kind, an has an insight to the level of pain that a human body can endure, during procedures.

I am very particular about my cleanings and teeth in general. This is the first dentist office in Nashville that I have really liked (I have been to 2 others). Every person that works here is very nice and they do good thorough cleanings. They have the latest technology also for x-rays. Dr. Pittman is always in a good mood, very nice and does a great job. Additionally, they do everything thing else right - easy parking, nice/clean waiting area, always start my appointments on time and have early appointments available (7am). I highly recommend David Pittman and his staff if you are looking for a dentist.

I don't think I have ever left a yelp review but my appointment with Dr. Pittman warranted one! He is one of the kindest humans I've ever met. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and his whole team made me feel so completely at ease. They were incredibly attentive and efficient and helpful. Dr. Pittman is honestly the nicest dentist I have ever had. Preparing for my wedding, I wanted to do a lot of things to my teeth and he was able to accomplish them! Dr. Pittman is seriously so nice and is such a professional. I saw him a lot earlier this year and so he always asked me how my wedding preparation was going and so on. He was also able to fix some of the things I needed to get done without feeling any pain! Their team are always so nice and so kind and they were always ready to answer any questions that I have. Honestly, if you are looking for a dentist in the area, you will not go wrong with Dr. Pittman! Their prices are very reasonable, too!

I love Dr. Pittman and his office, but the reason for the 3 stars is the long wait time to get an appointment for a cleaning. 3 months minimum is what I've always been offered. At what point do you stop taking new patients to accommodate the ones that you already have? Other than that, he's a great dentist. The dental hygienists have always been great. I did have a problem once with someone not being as detailed as they should have been. I took one of their online surveys after my cleaning and never had a problem since. I will say that they do offer to put you on a cancellation list, and if your schedule is flexible you can get in a lot sooner. I'm pretty busy, so when I do get that call the time usually doesn't work.

I few months ago I had a first appointment with Nashville dentist Doctor David Pittman and had a terrible experience with his hygienist E. She bragged about knowing some high ranking members of her political party, and she fished to find out what my politics were. My politics are my own business so I didn't comment. Later in the session she asked me if I liked a certain museum and when I said yes she said she thought it wasn't very good. Why would you ask someone if they liked something and then when the person says yes, trash the thing? At the time I had not yet met the doctor and I wanted to see what he was like since his reviews here and elsewhere on the net made it seem like he was the best in town. And I also figured I could just go to a different one of his hygienists on a future visit. But afterwards I realized that E's treatment of me was so egregious that I could not just remain silent. So I sent Dr Pittman a letter describing what had happened with hygienist E. He never responded to my concerns, so I wouldn't go to him again. It's just not appropriate or professional to bring up politics like that in a medical setting. In fact it doesn't make sense to bring up politics in business at all, where the smart posture is to be open and welcoming to all customers. And it makes sense to train one's staff to keep their personal political views to themselves. Update 5/11/19 Since my review here, Dr Pittman and I have exchanged private letters. He apologized for not getting back to me when I initially wrote to him with my concerns after my appointment last December. And he agreed that politics have no place in a medical setting. Also since my review I've shared my experience with friends. Universally none had ever had a medical professional ever bring up politics. The consensus was outrage at what I went through and that "this cannot become the new norm." Dr Pittman defended hygienist E as kind and caring, and he felt she just made a mistake with me. I disagree with his assessment. I was a brand new patient, and E made no attempt to find out who I was nor did she ask the simple question, "What are you interested in?" A kind and caring person would have at least done that. A hygienist's work is somewhat unique in the medical field in that they work on the patient's mouth, so that for long stretches of time the patient can't speak. A truly kind caring and compassionate hygienist would make the effort to find out what the patient is interested in and then, aside from the topic of politics, talk about that and not just indulge in their own favorite topics. And if patient and hygienist can't find a mutual topic of interest, silence works too. I hope Dr Pittman has learned something from my speaking out and that his office experience improves as a result.

I've mentioned before in previous reviews, if you give me a compliment about my appearance, I'll tee hee and love you forever. I've also mentioned that, even as a kid, I haven't minded going to the dentist. I have this thing about teeth. I can't stop staring at them. Mine. Yours. Everyone's. So, going to the 'teeth doctor' has never been an issue for me. I'm so pleased to report my streak continues as Dr. Pittman's. First off, his office is located in a very cool house on 21st. The parking situation's a bit wonky but the lot you can't park in has a pretty patient police office who will direct you where to rest your vehicle. Once you walk in, you should be put at ease. Everyone I've encountered in his staff is kind, smiley and extremely friendly. This is exactly the vibe you want to put off in a setting that promotes so much anxiety for so many. Kudos. After a very short wait time, I was walked to the back and started my appointment was a super friendly assistant/hygienist. Not only was she chatty when she needed to be and all about business when she needed to be, she made sure I was comfortable in my chair AND had a good view of the TV! Why don't other dentists think about that? Comfy chair + TV = less anxiety. By the time Dr. Pittman came to examine me, my body was loose. Y'see, even though I don't fear the dentist, I don't skip and throw flowers on my way there. My body does tense up but I was sufficiently calm by the time he came over. And, if I wasn't before, I would have been by the time he left. His demeanor is calm, friendly and very approachable. He has excellent teeth (a must for a dentist), is a UK fan/grad (a nice plus for this KY native) and is quite adept at what he does. He sufficiently distracted me with conversation that he was done before I even knew what was going on. I know some may think it odd to find one's dentist on Yelp but in a metro with so many newcomers (on a daily basis), folks are going to want to find out where to go for medical, dental, dry cleaning, etc. needs. The same place at which you go to find your watering hole can be used to find your medical provider. Look at Dr. Pittman's review track record: there's a reason for it. Plus, he complimented me on my teeth & dental hygiene. Tee hee.

I had a cleaning here and I was so impressed by the amazing customer service and overall experience here. David and other staff were phenomenally nice and did a great job.

UPDATE: Dr. Pittman called me himself today to apologize and said that here was a lack of communication on their part and that it shouldn't have happened (all the office manager needed to say to me; she could have left out the rest of the condescending words). Anyways, I'm not sure if I will return because of how I was made to feel by her, but I would still highly recommend Dr. Pittman because he is an amazing dentist and a genuinely kind man that goes above and beyond to connect with his patients ------------------- I'm really bummed to be writing this review because I LOVE Dr. Pittman, but I just got a notice that I owe an additional $450 on top of the $450 I already paid because the root canal that they referred me to do used up all my insurance and "how are they supposed to track each patients dollar amount" - the office manager was condescending and said sorry I never got a treatment plan or was told that I could possibly owe $900 out of my own pocket, but that I should have asked more questions and been more conscious of my own insurance and what they would and would not cover despite their office verbally telling me I would owe $450 (and no mention that I might owe double). I feel like they totally dropped the ball on communication on their end and are now blaming me and basically calling me stupid for not knowing my own insurance policy. This is their day to day; they should know these things and give their patients a run down on the possibility of insurance not covering things. We are a young family and don't have these extra funds and this office will be losing two loyal patients due to this. I'm super bummed because I really do love this dentist, but I can't go back to a place where the office manager was so beyond condescending to me.

So no one should love going to the dentist, but seriously....this guy is the bomb! After being scared witless by the strip mall chain dentist places and the high end 'let us fix every micro cavity in your head' dentist, this place is like wonderland. The staff is amazing and Dr. Pittman is crazy good. He even came in on his day off to fix a friend from out of town's broken temporary filling (who does that??). Prices are super reasonable - important because we opted out of our dental insurance and he never pressures you to do anything. Except floss.

Dental insurance in full effect: time to find a dentist. Dr. Pittman has a brand new office that is a kinda tricky to find, but it's seriously awesome. I guess I was used to my 90 year old dentist who operated on top of a drug store with stone age tools back in Cincinnati, but LCD TV's while getting your teeth cleaned? Whoever thought of this was a genius. The entire place has a very modern feel to it, and his staff are all super friendly. Dr. Pittman took time to show me the x-rays on the screen and explain what means what and explained his idea of running a dental office like a family. Which is better than any experience I have ever had. All in all, top of the line equipment, great staff, and a personable dentist who speaks English and not dental jargon make this place my new dental office. If you gotta get your teeths worked on or cleaned, I recommend this place.

I needed to get my first crown done and found this place thanks to Yelp! I wasn't sure what to expect since I've only had bad or just okay experiences at other dental offices, but Dr. Pittman and his staff were very welcoming and friendly. You can tell they actually care about their clients. And the whole crown process was surprisingly PAINLESS (even the numbing part)! They even let me watch my tooth being made in the back which is really cool that they can do that all in house! I'm definitely coming back again and will recommend my friends to going.

Check this out! I went to a dinner party tonight, ate some sticky candy and two crowns popped off.. Before I EVEN left the establishment, I had Doc Pittman on the phone, telling me to come in tomorrow morning. 10:30 at night and this guy calls me back. How's that for service?

I'm a victim of poor college kid syndrome. You learn to not go to the doctor or dentist for waaaaay too long. Well, recently I had to do it. So, I found this place on Yelp and decided to set up an appointment... I'll keep it simple, from the time I set up an appointment until I made my final payment it was a pleasurable experience. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone. Thanks for the help guys.

I hadn't been to the dentist in...let's just say "a long time." I knew I had a cavity. I have out of state dental insurance and did not know what dental offices were covered by my plan, but I called Dr. Pittman's office (based on my fellow Yelpers' reviews!) and Carol on the phone was really helpful. I scheduled a cleaning for the Monday after I called (less than a week!) and she offered to call my insurance company to see if I would be covered. My hygienist was really nice! She didn't judge me (too harshly) for not having been in for a cleaning in awhile. We got the insurance sitch straightened out, new X-rays, clean teeth and only a mild "you need to floss more" lecture. Best part -- you can watch TV while your teeth are being cleaned! Dr. Pittman was really nice and welcomed me to the dental family in his office. He and the hygienist (whose name is escaping me right now!) confirmed my cavity and we made an appointment for two days later. Got it filled and was in and out in less than an hour. ZOMG I had been SO nervous about finally going to the dentist but it was really painless and actually kind of pleasant!

Dr. Pittman and the entire staff are very friendly and willing to help. The dental hygienists did a good job with the cleaning and were pretty fast. The only thing that could be better is more convenient office hours.

I've been going to Dr. Pittman for about 4 years, and as long as I live here and he is practicing, I won't be going anywhere else. Having moved around quite a bit, I've been to more dentists than I care to count. I've seen good, and I've seen terrible. Dr. Pittman is the best, no question. His clinic is clean with lots of natural light. They have TV's so you can space out while they work on your teeth. The staff is super friendly, I love he hygienist I see. She is cheerful and gets my teeth super clean without hurting me. Dr. Pittman always personally checks my teeth out and takes the time to talk with me about not only my teeth, but always asks how I am doing and remembers who I am. I feel very safe in his care, and always recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist.

Love Dr. Pittman and his staff! He is so nice, and the hygienists do a great job cleaning your teeth without discomfort or pain! I've been to a lot of bad dentists in my life, and Dr. Pittman is not one of them. He's the best in the business! Also, the office is in a cute little house close to Vandy and is not like typical sterile office spaces - it's much more inviting!

My daughter and I are new to this practice, but it doesn't feel that way. We immediately felt we welcome on our intial visit. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and the check in process went extremely smooth and the wait was less than 10 minutes. The experience while being worked on was just as satisfying. The dental hygienist was gentle and thorough. Dr. Pittman continued to set the same tone that was displayed throughout the practice. Needless to say I'm very pleased and would recommend Dr. Pittman and staff to anyone looking for a clean, accommodating, and thorough dentist.

A lifetime of dreading going to the dentist has been completely undone in just one visit with Dr. Pittman, hygienist Katie and the rest of the wonderful staff. They were beyond comforting, efficient and communicative. If there was a rating higher than five stars, I would absolutely give that. Happy to very highly recommend this team.

I wish I could give more than five stars! As someone who does not have dental insurance I was looking for a good deal, but usually that means sacrificing customer service & experience. Not with Dr. Pitman. My husband and I both received amazing care & the best cleanings of our lives - all for a very reasonable out-of-pocket price! We are telling all of our friends about Dr. Pittman & cannot recommend him more highly!

I couldn't even wait to leave the parking lot to write this review. I found them on Yelp, and If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! This is, hands down, the greatest dentistry practice I have ever encountered. They were unbelievably kind, generous, knowledgable and easy to understand. I was greeted with a smile, and that set the tone for the entire appointment. The hygienist/tech who tended to me was fantastic and Dr. Pittman is my new favorite! He was just all around fantastic. And, their office is in a great location, is beautifully styled and they even have televisions in the exam rooms!! I mean, you really can't beat that...Seriously, if you are looking for a new dentist, stop your search! This practice is unbelievable and I will forever be grateful for their generosity and kindness. Additionally, as an uninsured person, they are very affordable. They genuinely care about a patient's well-being, and it is apparent in everything they do.

This was without a doubt the most pleasant dental experience I've ever had. Pat, my dental hygienist, was so kind and attentive. She demonstrated great care and skill in the way she treated me as a patient. When Dr. Pittman arrived to complete the exam, he said "we like to treat our patients like family". I can say that is exactly how I felt here. I will be coming back for sure.

I chose Dr. Pittman based on Yelp reviews...risky, I know, especially when we're talking about teeth. But I was not disappointed. Dr. Pittman was fantastic, the hygenist was great and very thorough. It was as pleasant of an expereience you can have while at the dentist. They were out of my insurance network, so I haven't gotten the bill yet but it's worth it to me. Plus, they didn't try to upsell me on any dental work or procedures. UPDATE: My bill arrived for my visit and it was $4...FOUR DOLLARS!

This office is nothing short of amazing. I went for a routine cleaning visit and the whole staff was great. From the moment that I walked in the door I immediately felt comfortable. Elizabeth was very knowledgeable and she taught me so many things that I was unaware of regarding dental hygiene. Dr. Pittman was very friendly and took the time out to listen to all my concerns. I am very pleased with this office and can not wait to bring my family back for their visit.

Absolutely wonderful experience. I just saw Dr. Pittman today and everything all the reviewers say is true. He is the nicest dentist very genuine and his staff is great. I just moved to Nashville about a month and a half ago and so today when I had a dental emergency happened I was very nervous about it because I haven't had time to find a new one. So, I looked on Yelp and found Dr. Pittman and I was very pleasantly surprised that he got me in today and will have everything done by tomorrow. I am so happy to have found a new dentist. Showed up with a dental emergency and this was my first visit since I unfortunately didn't have a dentist. He got me in that day and was extremely friendly along with his staff. He assessed and made a recommendation, spending time with me to explain what happened and the plan to make it better. Truly excellent 'bedside manner" .
