Best coconut fish I had in Placencia, so flavorful! Made to order with large portions. I missed out on the key lime pie but people loved it.

Food was very good as well as friendly service. If you stay in the village you can walk there. We drove 25 minutes to find this restaurant and parking was tricky. Cracked conch appetizer was good, but Creole conch was amazing. Lobster tail was cooked well.

We first visited The Galley on the last night of our 2024 trip to Placencia and were so sad we only had one meal there. So it was a joy to go back in 2025! The main dishes are fish, lobster, shrimp or conch in 3 ways: garlic, curry and creole. The fish changes regularly depending on what's fresh. On 3 nights this trip, we had snapper, grouper and jack. We also enjoyed the conch fritters - there's a bit of flour as a binder, but no egg or dairy in the mix so my husband was able to enjoy them. The curry is my absolute favorite with the creole a very close second. Dawn makes her own curry and hot sauce so the flavors are unique and delicious. She'll probably come out to say hello during your meal and it will be impossible to leave without feeling like she's a friend. Rahino, the waiter during our stay, is another gem. He is so kind and welcoming and remembered our names and details of our stay on each return visit. My husband loves their house margarita. Rahino was kind enough to make me a mocktail with tamarind and soda (they have a tamarind whiskey sour that I've also loved). Save room for a slice of frozen key lime pie! Loved the tart flavor and buttery graham cracker crust. If you're not a fish person, they have pork chops, steak, chicken and pizza. See you next year, Dawn and Rahino!

Best restaurant we've been to in Placencia. We went here twice, both times just as good as before. Creole lobster, garlic butter crab, and seaweed punch!! Owner, Dawn greeted us both times, good service

AMAZING FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE! One of our best meals in the country if not ever. Food was phenomenal, after hearing a lot about the lobster - this place has the best. We got one of each (creole, curry, grilled) and each were huge with great portions but also amazing. Service was great too. Quick and helpful with dishes and tastes. Meet Don who was amazing and had a great story of the restaurant and the family. Would give more stars to this all. Totally underrated off the beaten path place. Great atmosphere and we even caught a local group practicing soccer on the pitch next to the restaurant. Incredible vibes!!!

For our appetizer the two of us shared one lobster bites appetizer plate. For drinks we each had the rum punch. For our main course we both had the grilled lobster tail dinner with coconut rice and salad. For dessert we shared one slice of key lime pie. Our bill was $196 BZ or $98USD before tax. Food was really good and fresh. This dinner would easily be over $200 USD in the States. I highly recommend the Galley restaurant while in Placencia.

This place is special...really enjoyed the local experience with several folks that we had already met around town and some new folks. The food was ON POINT...my wife got the fish creole with coconut rice, and I got the shrimp creole with the mashed potatoes. We had a cuba libre and the dragonfruit margaritas...ALL AMAZING!!! Plus personal service from the owner!!! Posting an updated menu for all to reference.

This used to be on Placencia rd. called Dawn's Grill. They only prepare dinners now at this 1 year old location. Sitting in a screened porch, the atmosphere was casual. We were the 1st to arrive and they switched off the disco and played some good blues. They didn't have a menu so the waiter explained the specials. Fish, shrimp, pork chop or 2 different steaks. They came with the choice of fried or grilled and different sauces. Sides were mashed potatoes or coconut rice plus a salad for $32+ blz. The conch fritters were excellent as was my creol fish. The grilled fish with garlic butter was just good.
