Always great food. Been going here for 16 years when in Placencia. Most recently had lobster in a creole sauce that was outstanding. The Galley is the oldest restaurant in Placencia and has been owned by the sane family for many years. Many tourists miss this gem because it is located behind the soccer field. Well worth seeking out. Look for the Galley Restaurant. Google Maps calls it Dawn's Grill, which is wrong. Dawn's Grill was a separate location which is no longer in business.

A quiet and intimate restaurant with outstanding food! We each had the grilled lobster with coconut rice. Fresh and delicious. We heard their curry was exceptional so we asked for some to add to our rice. Great addition. We had the opportunity to talk with the owners who were so friendly and took pride in their menu. Do not pass on the bread pudding for dessert!! A most memorable evening at Dawn's Grill!!

Dawn was friendly and eager to hear our story. She shared her family’s history in the restaurant business and admittedly a good drink mixer but not a mixologist. The food was well flavored and had lots of taste. The coconut rice with curry was delicious.

We stumbled upon this joint on our day trip visit to Placencia from Hopkins. The place was quite inviting with quite a few locals enjoying their Thanksgiving lunch. Friendly service with reasonable prices too.

Absolutely worth the trip. Food was awesome. Fish balls, coconut rice, curry shrimp, rum punch and panty ripper, everything was great and inexpensive....free WiFi, from the Belize cruise port you must take a ferry to palencia point (location on the peninsula of belize)

At Dawn's, a small family serves up extremely delicious and flavourful food - they even have vegan options! My partner and I had a Creole sauce with veggies on coconut rice, and a curry sauce with veggies on rice and beans. The flavour and seasonings that went into each dish blew me straight out of the water. I had to have it twice! We topped our meal with fresh watermelon juice and a light local beer. Jolene, Julia, Dawn, and the rest of the women there are fantastic, wonderful people. I highly recommend this restaurant. Apparently it's been filling up recently, and it's easy to see why! It feels like home cooking.

This has to be my favorite restaurant in Placencia! The service was great and the food was phenomenal. The creole fish was great, the curry chicken and curry fish were even better! I HIGHLY recommend this gem!
