Dawson Cole Fine Art Gallery & Sculpture Garden

we stumbled upon this little garden by pure accident and i was ecstatic that it was open to the public. the sculptures are so nicely made and the actual garden feels secluded from all the hustle and bustle just a street away. if i'm in the area again i'd really like to make my way inside the gallery and see what they have to see. if you want to enjoy a quick 5 minute break from walking the city, i highly suggest stopping by here to enjoy the art.

I stumbled into this amazing sculpture garden. It is secreted away on a side street, snugged up between two office buildings and a small parking lot. Stunning art. Sculpture that defines the discipline of vision. Winner of Laguna’s public space beautification award. An unexpected gift of extraordinary beauty, balance, light and space!

This review is long overdue. Just wanted to express my gratitude towards The Dawson Cole Museum and in particular Jason who made my family feel extremely welcomed during our road trip to Laguna Beach. Not being locals we were particularly excited to come on a weekend of which Laguna holds its annual art walk. To our surprise it was extremely dead in regards to attendance and most galleries closed early that night. We managed to view about four galleries of which we encountered staff who seemed uninterested in engaging with us due to the lack of attendees. Once we reached the Dawson as our last stop the vibe completely changed for the better as we were presented with a great collection of the most unique sculptures and paintings. Jason, who was managing the gallery that night, was extremely inviting and attentive towards my family as he was super enthusiastic to talk about certain pieces. We instantly felt right at home as we were able to not feel the pressure of having to get in and out as quickly as possible. We even got some great recommendations on some local restaurants and bars that we visited that same weekend. I am deeply thankful for the warmth and hospitality of the Dawson Cole team. Thank you so much for making our trip memorable and fun!

Nestled next to a bank building in Promenade on Lake, this gallery has a fantastic collection of bronze sculpture dedicated to music, form and movement. There are paintings scattered throughout the space, but it is apparent this gallery is dedicated to sculpture of human form. Their sculpture garden is a very tranquil space, lined with plants and flowers. It is a fantastic display of large bronze sculpture, and is a perfect setting to sit and gaze at the beauty. Of all the galleries I visited on this day, this space was my favourite. You are allowed to view at your own pace without pressure from the staff to purchase.

Love this gallery so much. Every time we’re in Laguna we have to stop in and checkout this gallery. They have a great range of artists and something for everyone. We always feel so comfortable popping in and love the atmosphere. Definitely one of the top galleries in Southern California, don’t hesitate to pop in!

Had a wonderful visit to Dawson Cole Fine Art! Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Laguna Beach, this is a great spot to stop in while walking around town and check out what the gallery has to offer. Great atmosphere, and the owners are incredibly down-to-earth and are passionate about their gallery’s work. I highly recommend stopping in here!

Hands down best art gallery in Laguna Beach and most likely best in all of Orange County. The professional art consultants had unbeatable kindness and service along with great sculpture and art presentation. I loved the beautiful juxtaposition of painting and sculpture in the galley along with its contemporary style. A MUST see when visiting.

Dawson Cole Fine Art caught our attention as we were walking outside around the back of this place. We had to circle around to get inside to the outside grounds area for the art sculptures displayed outside. After taking pics, we had to go inside to view more art. You can spend many hours viewing each piece of art. We went through it quick, as we had so much to do, but this is a must-see spot when you're in the area!!

I was in CA on vacation and came across this stunning art gallery while walking thru Laguna Beach. I was greeted by an Art Consultant, Cheryl, who was extremely knowledgable and helpful. She made us feel very welcome. Quite a breath of fresh air to the pushy sales approaches of other galleries. The gallery is one of the most exquisite in the area and has an outdoor garden and sculptures to walk through that offers a great experience. Highly recommend.

Wow! This gallery was outstanding! The sculpture exhibit was phenomenal--it was like nothing we have seen before. The texture, and motion captured in every single piece was mind blowing. We enjoyed the interior and exterior experience, and all works were captivating. Beyond the pieces of art, the lady working was so knowledgeable about all of the art and offered her knowledge to us which enhanced our experience so much. They had a video to see the process the artist uses for his works, which interesting to watch. Having the ability to turn the marble mounted sculptures made the art really feel alive. My 12 year old son said, this artist will be the Vincent Van Gogh of our time. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and we look forward to receiving the notice of new installations.

During December, Dawson Cole Fine Art spread holiday cheer by hosting a special event benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach. On Dec. 7th, the festive evening served up small bites and delicious desserts from Broadway Restaurant and guests where treated to Festival Ballet Theatre vignettes from the Nutcracker.

Best gallery in Laguna. The outdoor sculpture garden behind the gallery is a must see. Knowledgeable and kind staff enhance the visit. Beautiful sculptures and diverse range of artists throughout. 5 stars!

Incredible bronze sculptures of cirque de sole dancers, musculature is so well defined its crazy even has a sculpture garden in the back

Went as part of the Flavors of Laguna walking tour. If you can get past the guilt of entering such a nice gallery with no intention to buy, it is definitely worth a stop. Aside from some interesting pieces the highlight collection are the bronze sculptures both inside the wide open room (look for the Kurt Warner piece, a smaller version of one created for the Atlanta Olympics, and an unavoidable piece on a local resident /retired Circue performer) or the sculpture garden that serves as a public space. Despite the lack of shade or lawn or monkey bars, it serves as a sparse and concrete yet artistic and serene place to eat a sandwich, read a paper, and be sad.

this gallery is fantastic, I have been here many times over the years, I always make a point to come in and see new sculptures by Richard MacDonald, I had met his son here a few times, and like his father he is a great guy, always very informative, sharing wonderful stories about his fathers latest works of art, and the other exhibitions at the gallery, i really enjoy the outdoor gallery in the back, it is definitely a must see attraction, and a great photo op too. of all the galleries in laguna beach Dawson Cole is my favorite as it is very inviting, frienfly, and the staff here is always welcoming.
