What a fun place! Not an avid Chase or Bill Elliott fan, but I appreciate them and their contributions to the sport. Burger was good. The fries and onion rings were great! Service was slow, but they set that expectation from the outset. Old school 5o the max. Don't go if you are looking for high-class, formal dining! Just good casual cooking with some nostalgia sprinkled in.

This place is a classic,great burgers and fries at a great price! And the memorabilia is awesome. Unfortunately the women at the counter are the rudest I’ve come across in a while. Terrible attitude ladies esp the girl cooking the burgers. 11/1/2025 Also I asked the girl to change the channel to a different football game and she said “we don’t play football here” and never changed it. Who watches a West Virginia v Houston game in these parts???? NOBODY!!!!

An experience not to be missed by an NASCAR fan. Waiting time a bit longer but absolutely worth it. We both had the Bully Burger! Wife said it was the best burger she has had in years! Agreed! The hand cut fries are really good! Friendly staff!

Wow! Lots of racing history here, and mighty good food! Be patient with their system. With patience comes great rewards!

1st time visitor to this small hometown gem. My parents live in Atlanta & I'm visiting from Florida. They've been talking about this place for a while now. I ❤️ Nascar. It was small, homey, great food, & great service. The Bully Burger was delicious 😋. Thank you 😊

Had to stop and check it out after going to the Georgia Racing Hall of fame. Had a couple app’s and Diet Coke’s. A lot of history on the walls.

Took my son and his fiance there for a late lunch or early dinner. The burgers are excellent. They are handmade and cooked to how you would like it. Hand cut fries were great. I say try the bully Burger. You can't go wrong.

The Dawsonville Pool Room is always good with the dining room choices from their menu. They also offer an $8.95 Lunch Special daily. The staff does a great job of getting your food to the table quickly and offer additional condiments upon request. Keep up the great job Dawsonville Pool Room staff!

The food here was amazing. My friends and I really enjoyed coming here. There is a retro diner feel to the place (mostly because it is indeed, an old diner basically lol.) I love that they have maintained the place and it's decor. Dawsonville Pool Room is a real gem. Our servers were courteous. My only complaint is that the food took quite a while to come out, like over 30 mins, but honestly I'm willing to overlook that because the bully burger and fries that I ordered tasted amazing. I also understand that we are in a small town and things may move a bit slower. It's locally owned and the food is cooked to order, so it's not going to pop out in 5 mins. Prices are great. You get a lot of value for your money here. You gotta order the bully burger and the fresh cut fries if you come (they don't really salt them though so be prepared to add some salt to the fries.) They have really mastered the act of putting coleslaw on a burger. Please keep in mind that if you look at my pictures, the coleslaw/mustard/ketchup is on the bottom of the burger so you can't see it well from my angle. My friends and I would happily come back :)

Just a good old-fashioned place! Lots of racing history lining the walls in the hometown of the racing Elliott family. We both ordered hotdogs and they were really good, as was the service. We will go back again!

They are Close by. Their food is always great and won't break the bank. Local hangout for those that like a nice meal

When visiting the Dawsonville Pool Room, try to keep in mind that this isn't a restaurant, it is a slice of Americana that every motor racing fan should visit at least once. Service is very good to excellent. I was a bit surprised that they only serve soft drinks. Just go- and go with an open mind to enjoy all that is good there.

Really enjoyed our burgers and the home cut fries were excellent. Service was very friendly, and we were well taken care of beginning to end. My only issue with the place was the cleanliness, in particular the floors and the bathroom. Not good. Cheers! RS

I ordered a chef salad and my husband ordered a burger. He was delighted that the burger was not a frozen patty. My salad crisp and fresh. The service was spot on. The place overall is old but clean.

Great food at a great price, hometown cooking and great atmosphere!! A must goto spot for all nascar fans!!!

My husband and I finally had a chance to stop in for lunch at the Pool Room today. We enjoyed it! I had the Bully Burger Special and it was served hot and cooked to order with fresh cut fries. My hubby also had a burger but ordered the Beer battered fries that were great as well. Served with cokes poured over "good" ice. Any race fan would enjoy the atmosphere. In some places you wonder if these walls could talk...at The Pool Room the walls do talk with every square inch covered in photos and newspaper clippings of a rich history of racing. We even grabbed a t-shirt. The Dawsonville Pool Room is more than a meal. It is an experience. Enjoy.

It's an Institution. Cool local hangout with reasonably priced, good food and service. Don't be put off by the name, although there is one pool table, it is not a bar or traditional "pool room". More than likely there will be a couple of patrons kids playing pool, if anyone at all. Burgers, phillies, chop steak, sandwiches, it's all good. I like the Bully Burger Special (it comes with slaw on the burger). We eat here about once a week. A must visit for Nascar fans. The place is covered with newspaper articles and memorabilia connected to local Nascar legends.

This place is a huge disappointment!! Dawsonville Pool Room is apparently owned by Bill Elliott the NASCAR driver. Upon entering you are greeted with NASCAR memorabilia splattered all over the walls and a 50s vibe diner of chairs and counter with barstools. However after about 30 seconds standing waiting for a table you realize how run down the place is and how abnormally warm it is for a restaurant. The menu is basic from burgers to fries and corn dogs to hotdogs and the like. The kid's menu is none better. I was seated at a table where I could see the grill and fryer being operated during lunch. I noticed that everything going into the fryer was coming out of jars or bags. Well they say they have fresh cut fries on the menu all I could see was bags of fries being dumped in the fryer so then be sitting in a basket underneath a heat lamp. My husband ordered the chicken tenders my daughter the kid's corn nuggets, and my son the kid hamburger. When it all came out it was so underwhelming. The fries were soggy and burnt at the same time and my sons hamburger tasted like a soy burger from grade school. It was utterly disgusting. Service was no better as we only got our drinks and no refills nor would we be asked if we needed anything else during our time at the restaurant.It was even a fight to ask for additional mayonnaise or condiments. Everyone there really seems to enjoy themselves and enjoy the NASCAR memorabilia but the food did not live up to the hype. This would've been a great place to eat after visiting the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, but I beg you to just pass and maybe even go to the local Dairy Queen or Bojangles for a burger or chicken tenders, just down the street.

Such a cool spot full of memorabilia and good vibes. They have shirts and merch available to purchase and the food is delicious. The staff was very sweet and everything was reasonably priced.

This is a great hole in the wall. Got the Buddy burger and loved it. Food was very good and inexpensive. Will definitely go back.

Best burger ever! Literally melted in our mouths! Get the beer batter fries! The best! Just missed Bill Elliott, but newspaper clippings everywhere and you can listen to the locals talk about Nascar and Chase!

Food was good and fairly priced. I give 4 stars because it seems they need more staff and it was dirty inside. Needs a good deep cleaning.

Sorry establishment. It took over 1 1/2 hours to get my Bully burger and fries. There was nothing on the burger. The fries were cold. Probably the worst exprience I have ever had at a hamburger joint! I will never eat there again!!!

Stopped by yesterday just to say I've been there (because I'm a huge Chase Elliot fan!). The burger and fresh cut fries were among the best I've had in many years! Will definitely be back for great food, amazing service and wonderful history throughout!

Love this place a real dive for sure old school dive bar. Had the Special for the day, which I choose meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green Beans with a roll. The meatloaf was wonderful, juicy and moist all the way through. Plenty of onions in the meat and the gravy was perfect. Mashed potatoes were great and so were the green beans. Everything was smothered with brown gravy to sop up later . Love to have green beans when I am out eating just love the way they make them in the south. Get there early to find a seat fills up quickly for lunch that is for sure. Plenty of NASCAR history and trophies all over the place have a special Daytona room off to the side. Next time in will have to try the Bully Burger that is what they are famous for. Keep up the great work thank you

So this is the iconic place featured on NASCAR race shows as the hot spot to watch races because it is the home town of both Bill and Chase Elliot. Well, it was a bit disappointing. A sheriff deputy recommended the Bully Burger, so I tried one. It was unimpressive. It was just a slow arriving burger served on a bed of cole slaw. really? Yawn. I was there on race day and expected an energetic watch party that never happened. The locals seemed to be disinterested in the race. I guess there is only energy when national TV cameras are there.

Friendly service and a very small town feel. Love the excitement over NASCAR! The food is amazing as well.

Philly cheese steak sandwich is THE BEST! Highly recommend this place if you are in the area! The atmosphere is pure Elliott racing. If you are a fan you will love it!

Great Food. Low Prices. Awesome Atmosphere. The waitresses were super nice. And my boyfriend who is a Chase Elliot fanatic left with a full belly and a happy heart.

We stopped by because hubby is a big Bill and Chase fan. Turns out the food was really good, we all enjoyed our food and loved the fries. My kids wanted to go back the next day while we were still in town visiting. We had a burger, chicken Philly and chicken tenders.

I was in Georgia today with my wife and daughter doing some business and the wife being a big Chase Elliott fan I decided to take her to the Pool Room and have lunch. As we walked in it looked like an old small diner from the 40's and 50's. The waitress greeted us and told us to sit anywhere we would like. We choose a table in the back room due to some kids playing with the Pool table in the front room. The menu is short and simple which it should be for a small diner. I ordered the Bully Burger off of a recommendation of a customer that we met and spoke to in the parking lot. The wife ordered the same along with fries and a sweet tea and my daughter ordered the chicken strips and fries. Now the food is made to order so expect to wait for it to be made and cooked and expect to wait longer if it's busy. We got lucky and it wasn't busy, but still had a short wait for the food. As we waited we spoke to the waitress who we found out is the granddaughter of the owner of the Pool Room and also family to the Elliott's. The Burgers are nothing special with meat, cheese, lettuce and two pickles on the side. Its the experience of being at the Pool Room and possibly seeing Bill or Chase come in or the fact that this is the hometown of two NASCAR champions and a NASCAR Legend. The is some memorabilia on the walls, and an old NASCAR outside, but I would have liked to have seen more on the walls. Having more pictures of Bill, Chase and the old timers that ran Moonshine back in the day where NASCAR started would have added to our experience and made it even better. They keep it simple when it come to the food which is great. I was just expecting more memorabilia. Oh and if you get the Bully Burger put the Ranch on it. The wife and I found it paired very well with the burger.

Called before arriving to see if they were pet friendly. Was told by woman on the phone as long as he wouldn't be barking and bothering people it would be fine. We have a 6 pound chihuahua that was in a shoulder carrier and never made a peep. Our waitress was very cordial and good. My wife overheard other waitresses making rude comments about the dog being there. I have been an Elliott fan for many years. This was our first visit to the Pool Room as we live in New York State. Food was ok. Just wish everyone was on the same page about pets. Had I been told on the phone that pets were not allowed, we would not of brought him in.

The food here is nasty but it's all about the history. Nascar legend, Bill Elliott memorabilia all over the walls and a nostalgia from his past racing days.

A local's hang out. The food was good. It is cooked to order so don't be in a hurry. Which we weren't. The server was awesome kept drinks full and made the meal fun. The racing memorabilia on the walls is great to read.

No nonsense small diner, good food, no alcohol. Lots of Race memorabilia on the walls as you would expect. My wife and I both had a burger and were both happy...very affordable!

I give 2 stars instead of one because the food was acceptable. Took well over an hour to get food. Maybe they were short staffed, but the waitress took our order and brought our food. Never checked on us. None of the workers wore masks. The one bathroom was full when a little old lady got sick and had to puke into a cup. Also the one bathroom had no lock. We had to stand at the door for one another since it wouldn't lock.

Love this place! The food was great and the waiters and owners couldn't be nicer! Loved the small town atmosphere. You know it's a good place when the locals are eating there. We'll be back!

Strongly recommend the cheese sticks. Very up market, dress accordingly. On its way to Michelin star. Great for nascar enthusiasts.

Great place to visit with exceptional food. Stopped on our way from Iowa to the Atlanta Speedway. Slaw on a burger?? Yes please! Never thought of that combination but I was hooked. Great nostalgia and memorabilia on the wall everywhere, even the bathroom! Got myself a shirt and will definitely stop again if in the area!

Love the food at the pool room but If you are going pack your patience. I understand that they cook food fresh but 45 minutes to get food is ridiculous. Has happened more than once and last time they were not very busy. Staff is friendly but slow.

This place has really gonna straight down hill. When we walked in, just about every table had peoples food still on it to the point a customer literally started cleaning up. This is my third, and, more than likely, last time coming here. I got the hamburger steak, bland, no seasoning, with onions and "canned" mushrooms with a baked potato that was the size of a golf ball and shriveled up. Wife got the chili dog meal and my little one got the two tender meal. Also, ordered cheese sticks which never came. As I went to pay, I let her know to only charge me for the hamburger steak as the baked potato was inedible and to take the cheese sticks off since we didn't get them. THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS plus tip for our meal and I left hungry. "We went up on our prices" and the quality definitely went down. Like, we could've went to longhorn and got a meal actually worth it for that price. Don't even get me started on the bathroom! Everyone blames COVID though. COVID has nothing to do with quality. Sorry, but this place could be SO much more. Losing my faith in the food industry around here.

Nothing grander here. Food is something I can make at home. Overly priced for quality. Building is old and looks run down. I would recommend going somewhere else for your money.

Racing is okay but when you have everyone's career in the state of Georgia everyone uses the name no matter how much a city changes it the Elliot name that is used and I've seen Gainesville Georgia completely changed and I've seen in young harris Georgia change a street name that used to be named Bristol st ya I'm sure it's just the name that is used in the entire state and that's okay but when you can't change people as well in reality nothing has change and people still making the same money that always have anyplace in the state and my response to the rating of just a star and as driver I would give a higher rating and other the years I've got to the point of not watching anything about big money and just a few years ago a sign put up at the shelter wanting people to sign up and i did and said i would for cash only at road Atlanta and they sent a bus to the shelter we went to the track thay gave 10 pages application to fill out an 2 weeks later mailed a card and i said no i will not do that so over the next couples of days i asked what did you all do direct people did that give you a radio no thay replied. And at the race hall county sheriff's department and Georgia State patrol working the gates and I'm a truck stop in the state that worked on that track 2005 and no I didn't work directing people or traffic.

Home of the Bully Burger, a hand pattied all real hamburger ground fresh every day augmented with mustard, ketchup, slaw, pickles and onions. It's a robust burger that you can double Patty or eat two of if you are hungry. Burgers are $4 each with a side of hand cut real potato fries only $2. Prices are reasonable and service agreeable. Located right off the town square on hey 53 it's easy to find. Real good burger!

This place was awesome for any Nascar fan and especially the Elliotts(Bill and Chase). The food is very good and the prices are even better! I highly recommend this place! Go Chase!

Came all the way from Detroit, Mi. Was in the Atlanta area for Christmas and had to stop in this iconic place. Huge nascar fan grew up watching Bill Elliot and now watching Chase. The food was amazing. Had the Bully burger it was really good. Great overall atmosphere and the Nascar history was amazing.

This place is definitely a dive. I had been hearing about it for months before I moved to Dawsonville so I wanted to give it a shot. First off, it's a little tucked away. The building is old on the outside, and you'll see it's old on the inside as well. I'm not convinced it needs a renovation bc part of it's charm is being old. The decor on the walls are dated Nascar articles and photos. There are two TV's hung high where you can see low resolution news or sports. Service was decent but the food is not fast bc everything is cooked to order. I had a burger and fries and so did my wife. Everything tasted great. Side note: no alcohol here. I will return to this slice of Americana.

Ordered grilled cheese and received one piece of cheese on white bread, it was horrible. I asked the waitress if they got a new cook and she said no. Would never recommend this place to anyone
