Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area

Worth to visit if you are keen in walking and appreciating birds. Spend at least 2 days/1 night here to try different trails. Btw, highly recommend to bring some snacks and ready to eat food with you. No shops and convenient stores inside of this national park.

Great customer service, everyone at the park is extremely friendly and helpful. The park is clean and well maintained. One of the trails is closed for maintenance so please check before you plan your visit. We stayed at the small wooden cabin, it is also very clean and water is hot. The meal is buffet style. Our family had a wonderful stay!! We will visit again for sure! 👍👍

It's beautiful and very dense forest. Deer, Bears and forest monkey are easily visible there. It is cold place even during summer also. So please carry warm jacket when visited this site. For the Taichung resident, ticket price is only 100 NTD.

I should describe this place as wonderful. Been there in early September, when it was so hot and humid in Taipei. whereas this place was so chilling at noon. If you are planning to stay longer at the top, consider taking a jacket. Please try to go to the top, the road is good, can drive car to the top. There are information centers along the way and there is a facility for drinking water (both hot and cold) and clean toilets. You can also buy some snacks. Lookout for birds and the beautiful mountains.

The second highest mountain on the island where has been protected as natural as possible maintaining its own looks, beautiful landscape you may see up there! You must arrange at least one full day to discover the beauty of the mountain!

A great place for mountaineering. There are plenty of trails to hike and peaks to climb. You may need shuttle services or drive on your own as transporting between where you stay and the trailheads.

"The Great Snow Mountain" national forest park locates in the middle Taiwan. The elevation is over 2000 meter. There are serval trails, where one can walk inside forests. There are two famous giant "Red Juniper" trees in the forest trails, the small one is estimated over 1000 years old, and the big one is about 1500 years old. There are a variety of wildlife. I am lucky seeing unique birds including "Imperial Pheasant" and "Blue-bellied Pheasant". Super happy 😃 ❤️ 👍!

The Daxueshan Forest Recreation Area features sacred tree trails suitable for the general public and attractions that require appropriate equipment to reach. Accommodations in the park can be booked in advance. The rooms are not luxurious but warm and comfortable.
