Good hostel, away from the noisy and busy main road (a bit after Coron Town proper (5 min walk) and on the side street just below, nestled behind island brasserie. Would highly recommend the dorms, comfortable, quiet, clean and properly setup. Bathrooms and showers are quite clean and somewhat spacious. Common room in the rooftop is also a big plus, with an in house bar and restaurant.

worth your money. there are other solo traveler, backpackers you can meet. internet signal is not an issue. they have free coffee and drinking water available. their bunks have privacy and individual lockers.

Clean, modern and friendly. Only complaint is that the room wasnt ready until 530pm. Also we had sent an email from the ferry saying it was running late and that we might not be there until 6pm, they sent us an email back saying that they couldnt accomodate that request. No mention of this at check in. Otherwise its a nice quiet spot with a cool breezy rooftop.

I went on a 13-day trip around Palawan and Coron was my first stop from Cebu. In Coron, I stayed in Dayon Hostel. I was alone for the duration of my three-night stay in the six-bed female dorm. You can choose to lock the door at night for security. I made sure that I turned off the AC every time I went out. The restrooms are clean especially the toilets although the shower rooms need to be upgraded as some showerheads do not function that well. It will also be nice if they do a thorough cleaning of the shower rooms and the sinks as they looked dirty and unkempt. There is a restaurant on the rooftop but the options are limited. If you exit through the back, it leads you the main road where you will find a wonderful cafe that serves good sausage meals. There are also several local options available if you want affordable options. The price I paid was worth the quality of the stay. The hostel is known by tour operators and guides and so it was not a challenge when it was time for pick-up and drop off. I loved the staff especially when I had to leave early in the morning to head to the port for my trip to El Nido. They arranged my transportation and made sure that I left the hostel on time. Will I go back? Maybe not and it's not because I don't like it. It's just that I felt that my next stay should be in a private room for another worthwhile experience in Coron. But for those solo travelers on a budget, Dayon Hostel is your best bet in Coron in as far as affordable sleeping option is concerned.

Rooms were spacious, had big lockers, everything was clean and the air conditioner worked well. Rooftop was pretty chill as well. Things to improve could be the matress that it was quite thin and the showers had barely any pressure. Overall a pleasant experience. Food was nice for the price. You can get free water and coffee in the mornings it’s included. The last think it’s this place don’t includes you a towel. I would book there again!

Fab place, but!! It's not secure at all. Main doors wide open all night, reception closed, dorms without locks on door- this wasn't making me feel comfortable at all at night.

We stayed here for 3 nights, one night in the mixed dorm and two nights in the private room. It was clean, the bathrooms are a good size and modern. The rooms are private and we felt safe. The location is great, walking distance to restaurants and the bar area. Staff were wonderful, the bar staff gave us a full rundown of the types of liquor you can find in the Philippines and where it is made. Great experience, would recommend.

My friend and I booked this in October 2023 for our stay in March 2024. I presume that recently the hostel has changed ownership, as what we experienced did not reflect the previous 4&5 star ratings that had been given. Our room was nothing like what was advertised, and instead resembled a prison cell. When we showed the staff a picture of the room that was advertised and asked why our room looked nothing like the picture, we were told that they “Don’t have that type of room anymore.” We asked why these rooms were still being advertised on booking sites if they don’t have them, as this constitutes as false advertising. The staff member agreed that the room looks nothing like what they have advertised, but there was nothing they could do. The top-bunk was not only difficult to access due to a poorly designed ladder, but also unsafe with only a very short railing to stop you falling out. Facility wise, out of 4 showers, only 3 were working with low pressure, and when we went to use the toilet, 2 out of 4 were blocked and we had to alert maintenance. The hygiene of the shared bathroom was below standard and generally the whole place felt dirty. A world away from other hostels we have stayed at in the Philippines for a similar price. We only had one night here. If it had been more, we would have looked elsewhere.
