Dayon is one of the best hostel in coron. I’d like to give feedback about the staff: 1 . John : one of the best and kind hearted I met in coron. He has helped with details and guided how to check weather conditions in Philippines.. 2. Reception staff: as promised, booked a van for airport drop Picked on time and dropped as per schedule. Thanks to dayon whole team out there at the hostel 😊 Rooms: good and value for money Bar prices: prices are reasonable

I will start by saying the staff and location are lovely. However rooms are VERY Noisy- lots of road noise, cockerels etc. The most irritating of all … cleaning staff enter the room at around 06:00 -06:30 to access and clean toilets /showers and empty bins 🧼. They seriously need to change this to a more reasonable time, because this process is not quiet. FYI I’m a heavy sleeper. Good place but not if you want to sleep past 06:00.

The WiFi doesn't work at all in the dorms or private rooms. The dorms were OK, comfortable bed but very small and cramped, also no natural light and smelt damp. We then had a private room for the last night which was okay, again smelt strong of damp, the floor is filthy. Someone using a hair dryer directly outside our room at 6am wasn't appreciated. Again absolutely no WiFi signal. Also the water coming out of the bathroom tap in private room was brown. Wouldn't recommend to be honest, although the staff are friendly.

For our Coron trip, we decided to go budget-friendly with our accommodation, especially since we were staying for 9 days! I really took my time researching and comparing different options online and I’m so happy we ended up booking Dayon Hostel! 1️⃣ The Price – An Absolute Steal! We paid only around ₱7,000+ for 9 days, that’s just about ₱700+ per night for a private room with a bunk bed! For that price, this place is honestly a gem. 2️⃣ The Room - Private Bunk Bed (Room 8) Yes, I read some reviews saying that the private room looked like a prison or didn’t match the photos on Agoda (apparently, the photos were outdated). But in our experience: - The room was clean and decent - It had sockets, a desk and chair (great for working or getting ready) - Wifi worked perfectly! I even worked remotely during our stay - It felt like a safe and quiet space and I slept well every night - AC also worked perfectlyyy There were a few noisy guests in the hallway on some nights, and some housekeeping staff were singing while cleaning (which honestly made the place feel lively, not annoying!). 3️⃣ Showers & Restrooms Some reviews mentioned dirty shared bathrooms, but I saw staff cleaning them regularly and during our stay, everything was tidy. - Water pressure and heater were both okay - Showers were shared, but we had no issues with cleanliness 4️⃣ My Favorite Spot – Rooftop! We always ended our day chilling at the rooftop, reading my book, bringing snacks or just relaxing after exploringgg. Such a cozy, laid-back vibe! 🥹 They have board games and a bar. I tried their matcha! Creamy and more on the milky side, but I liked it! 5️⃣ The Staff – Super Friendly! Special shoutout to Kuya Chris/Kris! He really went above and beyond: One night, we brought back ihaw-ihaw from outside to eat at the rooftop. He offered us plates so we could eat comfortably! Another time, we were heading out and I said it was too hot. He overheard and quickly offered us an umbrella to borrow, so thoughtful! Overall: Highly Recommended! 💯 If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, clean and decent place in Coron, Dayon Hostel is a solid choice. It might not be luxurious, but it has everything you need and the friendly vibe makes it feel like home.

Rooms were clean with good sizes lockers. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food service was good apart from on the last day, we needed to be at Coron port for 8am and we ordered breakfast at 7 (the earliest time you're able to) and it didn't come until 0750 which made us late. Bathrooms were generally clean but there was one day it seemed that one of the showers and one of the toilets hadn't been cleaned for a whole day. Rooftop bar was nice. Location was decent. Also I had the Spanish latte which was really good, very smooth.

Unfortunately the 6 bed dorms do not have a working wifi connection and the 4g reception was also absent. The beds were decent, though a bit squeaky. The rest of the hostel is quite nice.

Great location. They don't provide towels for free, so if you need them you can rent it for 50 pesos. You can also book a tour or ferry through the front desk and it's super convenient. The room is nice. It has an air conditioner and a fan. The bed was big with a clean linen. If you book a 12 person room you will have a shower in a room, but the water pressure there is weak. But you can go to the 2nd floor bathroom.

Overall, my stay at Dayon Hostel was okay, but there’s room for improvement. The facade and lobby are aesthetically pleasing, and the front desk staff was accommodating. However, I was assigned an upper bunk bed even though a lower bunk was vacant. I’m not sure if guests can reserve specific spots, but the person who later occupied that bed arrived almost five hours after me. One issue I noticed was the awkward gap between the bed and the wall beside it, which makes it easy for items to fall onto the bunk below. As for the common bathroom, it’s basic and aligns with the price point. However, some stalls had issues with the heater—it was difficult to turn off—so I preferred using the last stall, which was already off. The highlight for me was the roof deck, where they offer free coffee and serve meals. It’s a nice spot to relax and unwind.
