Several pros/cons at this place, so I'll just make a list.
Pros-
*clean rooms, pretty nice setup w/ fridge, microwave, 2 full size beds, (queens would have been preferred but no biggie.)
*literally about 1/4 mile from Graceland, so we walked there in 5 minutes.
*The hotel is very "Elvis" w/ the decor, pink color, lots of murals, pictures, and the guitar-shaped pool. Graceland was our primary reason for visiting, so that's why I chose this hotel. My daughter is a big Elvis fan, so she loved it.
*the price on Expedia was about $450 bucks total for 5 nights, which is pretty cheap these days.
*very friendly cleaning staff and front desk folks
*free "breakfast" (kinda) and coffee, more on that w/ the cons
Cons-
*the room wasn't quite sealed up, so the A/C had to be on full blast to avoid it getting muggy inside. There was a huge gap under the closed door that let light, air, sounds from outside in, I had to put a rolled-up towel to block it, (the picture doesn't do it justice, it was about a 1/2 inch).
*the window had a blackout shade (Elvis star pic) which is great for sleeping in, but there were no blinds/curtains, so it's either total dark, or let in some light in the daytime and be totally exposed to everyone walking by...
*not sure if it was the A/C seeping thru the floor, but there was a constant wet spot in the middle of the room, (pic) that water would squish up when you stepped on it, so we had to try to avoid it. And we were on the 1st floor, so this was odd....
*the free breakfast highlight was the waffle maker, which I always love to use. Other than that, it was plain white bread to toast, or Little Debbie Honey Buns. the cereal was only Cheerios or Rice Krispies, which is healthy, but good luck getting your kids to eat that... They also had yogurts and some refrigerated mini-sausage biscuits to microwave yourself, but I didn't try those. The 1st day the juice machine was nothing but water, but they fixed it after that. There were also those tiny little ants that are common in that part of the country, on the countertop each day, we just had to work around them...
Overall, not a luxury spot, but not any huge deal breakers, the location was super convenient as we traveled all over Memphis. The pool area was clean, although the pool itself was about what you'd expect for an outdoor pool, that didn't appear to be cleaned regularly. Not filthy, but had some dirt/leaves in it. My kids didn't care...
