"At Dayton airport in Ohio, for instance, there were 31 commercial passenger flights scheduled to take off on April 22, but just under half of the flights actually departed. The data over the past month shows that’s not an aberration. In the past 30 days, there have been between 10 to 20 flights per day that were scheduled for takeoff and then canceled the same day at Dayton, sometimes more, according to FlightRadar24."

Nice airport. Very clean. Wide areas out front for drop offs and pick ups. TSA Pre-check fast. 7 minutes from start of line to walking down the hall. Gate B side has nice sitting area, bathrooms next door and Dunkin donuts. Nice leather chairs. Chill and enjoy your coffee!

Arrived late, but an expected flight… snow and ice were expected, but not prepared for in any way… weather was as anticipated all day 0600- 2200 but in no way prepared for… extremely disappointing but low quality Dayton style. Cannot get off the plane, despite en route for 2 hours prior.:. Dayton airport is ridiculous.

Google
Dayton Airport restaurants are a complete disappointment. I’ve experienced consistently U poor quality and service that falls far below acceptable standards. (Max &Ermas and VIP Sports) The staff is unprofessional and clearly untrained, offering barely any assistance to travelers in need. With limited resources and abbreviated operating hours, these establishments seem ill-prepared to handle even a moderate volume of customers. It’s unacceptable to pay airport prices for such subpar dining experiences. Improvements are urgently needed to meet even the most basic expectations of service and quality.

Quick and easy entrance and exit. Had never been here prior to today, and it was a great experience. Thanks for making my trip easy to accomplish!

Google
This is my favorite airport to travel from and out of Ohio. No, you don’t really have store options but I feel like there’s just enough because wherever your next destination is, there will probably be a bunch. I particularly go to one of the Dayton inside stores, get a fulfilling snack and I’m satisfied as long as I ate something light at home. I prefer it this way as it feels way less chaotic compared to other airport options. The staff is usually nice as well.

Google
I always look forward to flying DAY. Denise with American Airlines Baggage was so incredibly helpful and kind to me! She provided excellent service and expertise into the baggage customer service process. I am incredibly thankful for professionals like her!

Google
Such an awesome place. Loved the air show. I cannot wait to go back next year! Dayton airshow 2024 was amazing.

I have been flying out of Cincinnati for the past 15 years and was pleasantly surprised to see how well the airport had been upgraded. One exception was for special needs passengers who parked in lots accessible by shuttle. Now, you must cross over to a designated place for the shuttle, which can be a challenge for a special needs person.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've used Dayton International Airport so I was a little astonished on numerous things; access, parking, tsa, gateways. I'm comparing this to CVG which isn't really fair because it's a bigger airport but finding a parking spot at Dayton was easy to find. TSA was empty, well the entire airport was kind of sparse of travelers. The conversation I had with the TSA agent was way longer than the process of getting thru the scanner. Food choices are limited and guessing they have very short hours of operation. A short walk to gateway but at this point I realized in clean and tidy the entire airport is. Will I go back? Sure, if I'm going back to corporate headquarters but probably not for person travel because the cost to Phoenix(where we fly to twice a year) is way more expensive thru Dayton.

Yelp
As an avowed, dedicated, and frequent international traveler, Dayton airport looks better and better Always expect connection Service is excellent, the airport has been updated Great business lounge Decent restaurant selection

Shelly J.

Yelp
This a smaller airport that services AA, Delta, and Unitrd airlines. (Maybe more) Well, light and clean, pick up and drop off areas. If you're checked in and don't have checked in bags, you go to the TSA checkpoint. There were no lines. Friendly TSA agents, no problems. After that, you straight to your airline boarding gate. Very limited eating options, I only saw Dunkin. The waiting area is spacious and clean, under the seat, there are electrical outlets. Clean bathrooms. The boarding agents were friendly at American Airlines. They helped me get home during the Southwest fiasco.

Brittany S.

Yelp
I'm torn because there are the obvious perks of a small airport like zero lines, ease of parking and an overall swift experience. For example, the daily parking here is only $5!! However, in the case DAY, it's eerily empty with a majority of the shops and restaurants closed on the middle of a Saturday. Once we found all of the humans, there were literally around a dozen folks for the three flights remaining for the day. Even the outside gives off some vacant vibes. So, my advice would be to not show up hungry or thirsty or with a lot of time to kill. The bathrooms are clean and several sections seemed under construction. Fingers crossed planes actually fly out of here

Yelp
I'm digging this airport! Rental car on sight, music isn't too loud, free WiFi, and a few good food options. I had a sit-down meal at Max & Erma's while burning through a few hours here. Staff was super friendly everywhere, from TSA pre-check, shop workers, waitress, and gate agent. Clean. Well-lit. TSA line was super speedy. Well done, Dayton!

Michelle B.

Yelp
I have flown in and out if Dayton Airport many times over the years. The customer service here lately has been hit or miss. Sadly on this visit the United Agent at checkin was extremely rude and mean. The TSA agents were very friendly and the store clerk was great too. The airport is smaller which lets you get to your gate relatively quick the downfall is you are guaranteed to have to change planes to get anywhere. I fly through this airport when I have to. The place is clean which is nice.

Christopher T.

Yelp
Solid older airport, tsa is slower than at some other airports. Limited options once inside. However, good suburban airport. Restrooms are clean and it's easy to return rental car!

RC R.

Yelp
It is old and dated. Needs a tremendous facelift and lacks even average amenities. The shorter you are here the better

Heather B.

Yelp
Itty bitty, but gets you to where you need to be. It was also nice and clean. Staff there were kind and helpful. Seating can be limited due to the size of the airport. There are a few stores and a few spots to get a snack or drink. Not sure if there was an actual place to eat inside, as I did not really look.

Terry K.

Yelp
I worked in aviation for a couple decades and have traveled through numerous airports large and small. In comparison to other airports, this one definitely needs some updating...terminal-wise. The terminal is pretty bland and not much in the way of restaurants, stores, and gift shops. Now the control tower is another story. It is probably the best looking tower I've ever seen. The outside is uniquely designed. I wish I could have seen what it looks like at night. Parking seemed to be adequate for the size of the airport. I believe there was free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal. With some work (some renovations were in progress), this place could easily become something the locals could be proud of. For now, it's below average.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Dayton hits the highlights for me as a large regional airport. Lots of options for flights to the various airline hubs (no, there won't be directs to other spots), a variety of carriers to choose from, and most importantly, an attached rental car garage. It's a quick walk (outside) across the way to the parking deck where the rental car companies are all located. So easy! Dayton does not have a subway or light rail system, so there's none of that here. And it is located a good ways from downtown. Several food and shopping options in the airport, decent seating, a free wifi network and plenty of power outlets. DAY is A-OK. [Review 11323 overall, Round number review 1100 of 2019.]

Yelp
TSA threw away my deadly Frisches Tarter Sauce and Montgomery Inn Sauce that I just bought at Kroger in a Kroger bag with receipt, but let me keep my bomb ass Buskin Cookies and ALL of my REF hair care products which did exceed the amount of liquid and aerosol spray the guidelines allow. Update: When boarding they made everyone check their carry-on bag which means I could have checked my items with it and been able to keep them! JERKS

Yelp
I, personally, love this airport. It's not big, it's not fancy, there aren't a ton of restaurants and shops. But the ease of getting in and out, through security, and to baggage claim really makes up for whatever it lacks. I will take a tiny airport over a big one, any day. Every employee we came across was super nice. There were a couple shops for snacks and goodies. Restaurants are in the middle, but as our flight was leaving at around 10pm, most of those were closed at the time; not that I'm one to eat at a restaurant much in an airport. Anytime I need to come to the area, I do my best to fly in and out of Dayton!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
I love this airport. You could probably pull up like 20 minutes before a flight and still make it. It's small, cheap, easily navigable and personal. Staff are friendly rather than frazzled, lines are short, amenities are limited but quality. WiFi is free and outlets are ample. I mean, what else could you want in your friendly neighborhood airport? AND, you can get your Boston Stoker fix after security. I love it, I love it so much.

Jenny T.

Yelp
If given a choice, I can honestly say I will never visit Ohio again. The only reason I came is because of work related training. If it wasn't for that, I would had never step foot into this state. It is a SMALL airport. There are no direct flights from SFO to this airport. So, I had to transfer at a larger hub and into a smaller airplane to get to this airport. There are no restaurants to dine at if your waiting for a flight, only small convenience stores for snacks. This is always bad for smaller airports but on a positive note, it is easy and fast getting through TSA checks. I made a bad decision by taking the airport Taxi to my hotel. Bad bad bad bad decision. I don't know how they hire their drivers but this one was so bad that I feared for my life! The driver was on the phone for 90% of my ride and was swearing and yelling at whoever he was talking to. Then the rest of the way when he was off the phone, he was high beaming and road raging at all the drivers. On the day I was leaving Ohio for good, drama was unfolding in the baggage claim area! A women was mad dog crazy crying over her boyfriend breaking up with her and causing a big commotion! I knew I had to get out ASAP. I was also the only Asian in this entire airport, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Once we arrived in Dallas, TX for my transfer point, I felt a lot more comfortable in my skin and surroundings. Whew!

Yelp
Convenient airport when visiting the Dayton area. This is a very convenient and nice airport if you are visiting the area. Delta, United, American, and Allegiant airlines serve this airport. The airport is located on the north side of the city proper and is easy to get to since it is located at the northwest corner of 40 and I-75. It is not a small or large airport. It is in between. This gives it the advantage that getting to most of your car rentals is right across the street at the bottom of the parking garage. Picking up your luggage will be on one of the few carousels. If you are departing out of this airport then its smaller size is an advantage since check-in is limited to just a few counters and security is not overly time-consuming. I would suggest as you are walking through the airport, look at the beautiful terrazzo floors in the actual size and shape of specific airplanes. It is a very nice touch. All the airport personnel was very friendly, efficient, and helpful. There are limited food choices and not a lot to do so arrive early with your own entertainment. Overall, this is a nice, convenient airport if you are visiting the area

Yelp
This is an older airport that has seen numerous upgrades so it's actually in pretty good shape. Parking is easy whether you choose the ramp, Economy or cheap economy (out past the cell lot on the right if leaving the airport). The airport food is just OK and on the expensive side. The selection is minimal. Getting through security is a breeze since the airport doesn't have the ridership like the monster airports have. I'm usually through in a few minutes. Most of the time you'll need to connect at a regional airport to get to where your going unless your headed to a big city. Today I'm off to Tucson and my flight is delayed due to large storms in the area. So I'm having a beer and doing a review. The beer is good, it's a Sam Adam's. BUT it's $8.57 a pint! I've flown out of this airport more than 100 times and it's an easy one to navigate. Waiting for luggage is a problem here. It's taken me as long as an hour for luggage to come out and it's rare that the wait is less than 15 min. Best to carry it on the plane with you, if you can.

Rich C.

Yelp
Great airport. Always friendly service and no lines. Not too many places to eat but that's ok because the ones they have are really good. The bagel shop is excellent and always tastes great. Small gift shops and the one down stairs always has things on sale so buy those buckeye buckets. They have the water filling station everywhere and it's actually cold. Great airport.

Yelp
Cracks me up "International" is in the title. You can fly to another airport where you can get an international flight, but not from here. Still, this airport has some merits. With the exception of Monday morning when the Road Warriors head out (like I used to) no security line to speak of. To be as small as it is, no problem getting coffee- four coffee shops including one in the lobby if you're just picking someone up. Two bars (One in each wing) but be prepared to break that wallet out cause you can have drinks in the nicest place in town cheaper than here . Sit down dining at Max and Ermas, Chick Filet and a bagle shop, book store and gift shops. Airport is small and you can walk from one end to another in under 5 minutes. Park cheaply and shuttle from outer lot, or park close in new garage...in my opinion the top improvement in ages. My only gripe? Some of the restrooms are in dire need of improvements. And all the restrooms should be cleaner. And they roll uo the sidewalks at night. And collecting luggage takes forever and ever. Guess I have more than one gripe. Still. .. not a bad little airport.

Alicia O.

Yelp
I just wish even more airlines flew in and out of Dayton. It's our favorite to fly to Orlando and back!

Peter M.

Yelp
It's a basic regional airport well outside of the city. No hotels nearby. Rental cars are in terminal. Hint: Check out the business center between terminal A & B, as the use of it is free. You just have to sign in. No food, but decent chairs, newspapers, computers & printers and hot coffee available. Limited airport food options, but there are options at least. Newsstand is ok. Not overly busy. TSA agents are at least amicable, but I wouldn't call them friendly either.

Valerie W.

Yelp
One of the best things about Dayton is the airport...!! Easy in, easy out, no fuss, no muss, no frills, nothing fancy-pants, and that's exactly what you need when you're getting in and out of this at times MUCH more complicated than it needs to be city!! They should rename it the "Not so big/ easy"-- Easy parking (long and short term), never too long a line to check in, no dozens of tempting restaurants to "thrill" your traveling taste-buds (pizza, coffee, bagels, Max and Erma's... what more do you need, duck a l'orange?!?) I fly in and out of here about once every three months, park my car for a measly $6 (!!) a day at the long term lot, take the quick and convenient shuttle to the terminal, check in (usually SUPERFAST, hope I don't jinx it!!), go quickly through the TSA checkpoint (they're even friendly!!), and to my gate (might be a hike, but the walk will do you good!!) I've never had a problem here. Late/cancelled flights happen, and if there is a delay/cancellation, help is easy to find. ADDED BONUS: Southwest is now in Dayton!! I tend to switch off between Dayton and Columbus, but as long as the price is right, and this place doesn't try to get "too big for its britches," I'm a true fan!! Now, just remember to eat before you get there, or wait til you arrive...!!

Yelp
I travel fairly frequently and am generally excited when I get to fly in and out of a smaller airport. While the larger airports give me more flexibility in the scheduling flights, the smaller ones can be more convenient and the service is generally more personal. This is my first time through this airport but I should have many more as my business will take me here regularly. The airport is being remodeled currently so there is a little disarray but folks at the United counter were helpful and nice. Security was a little slow because of inexperienced travelers and it seemed TSA agents were in training. I was at the airport in plenty of time so this was not a concern for me and the line was very short. I'll update my reviews in the future as my experience at this place increases. Overall, I expect that I will be back here again for its convenience for my travel.

Linda O.

Yelp
The Dayton Airport is fabulous to fly in and out of. It is easy to get in and out of...not confusing at all. Getting through security is always speedy. The restrooms are modern and clean with outlets if you want to plug in a styling item. TONS of outlets and USB ports at almost every seating area. I love it!

The Real L.

Yelp
what a pos airport very small and unorganized who in the hell wants to fly here definitely a different kind of person my flight was delayed 4x like its only one plane in the air r something united airlines is a sh*tline thats all bagged up its literally no hot food here to accommodate travelers wouldnt recommend landing here for sure im from the south and at this point i rather stay along my region everything is weird up north entire trip was a circus never again.

Angela A.

Yelp
This airport is currently undergoing major construction so it can be a little tricky to navigate. That being said, this is one of the easiest airports to deal with - great people working here. Smaller airport so there are only 2 concourses - A and B. The best options for food are right after you come through security. I prefer this airport over CVG in Cincinnati.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Small airport and easy to get around in. The TSA are among the friendliest I've met. The gate agents are kind and helpful. Not much to do at this airport as it is so small. Very clean.

Nikko M.

Yelp
Beauty of the smaller city airports is efficiency! The new modernized design is beautiful, plenty of areas to work while waiting for your flight. Business friendly airport!

Frederick D.

Yelp
I do wonder how many international destinations this airport flies to if any. The airport is small and fairly easy to get into and out of. There was no issue taxiing our plane and I didn't need to wait for checked luggage. I do wish there were more direct flights to this airport so I wouldn't have to stop elsewhere to get here from Miami. Dad was waiting right in front as soon as I arrived and we were on our way home. We flew in with American on this flight.

Summer F.

Yelp
Literally the worst airport I've ever been in. This now takes over as the #1 airport to avoid. Staff is extremely unorganized and if you show up for an early flight, pre check will not be open and they will make you go through full security and take your shoes off. They canceled most of the flights out of here the night before when I was supposed to leave siting "mechanical issues". Staff was extremely hard to work with on rebooking flights, saying they were even sure they were cancelled (they were). We were able to get through the airlines customer service line on the phone faster than we could get help face to face with an airport employee at the front of the line. There are very few options for food here and what they offer is mediocre at best. Avoid this place at all costs if you can have a layover or flight out of anywhere else.

J ..

Yelp
I'm probably being bias, but DYT is one of my favorite airports. If you take a flight at 0600 or earlier and it's not a holiday weekend, there's hardly anyone here. Even if it's a holiday weekend, you can usually check-in and pass through TSA within 30 minutes. (Impressive)! Also, the TSA staff here are always nice. SO much different than any other airport. I love this small airport and how accessible everything is in it.

Rick A.

Yelp
Since the removal of the Luggage screening machines in the lobby, adding free wifi and the new parking garage opening, this airport has nearly reached the top of my list. About the only thing preventing me from giving the place 5 stars is the frequent breakdown of the escalators. At least one has been broken on the average one trip in four. That plus the seats in the Delta gate area seemingly having been rescued from Baghdad International after the Gulf War are two things that need attention. No clue if the seat situation is Delta's or the Airport's call but someone should update the furniture to at least 2000. I also like the new X-Ray machines as they seem to cause much less problems than the old magnetic devices. TSA has always been fast and efficient for me but I would like an Elite Passenger line, especially in the morning when there are a cluster of flights leaving.

Jason H.

Yelp
Living in the West Chester area, I'm almost right between CVG and Dayton. I almost always choose Dayton. CVG is increasingly taking longer to get to and the drive there is becoming more and more unpredictable. Having to drive through the city and over the river into Kentucky is just something you can't predict a time for, at any given time during the day. Going up north to Dayton, 45 minutes. Plus or minus 5 minutes. No more than that. In fact, usually less. Another thing I like is I can literally park my car and be through security in less than 15 minutes. I've flown out of Dayton probably about 30 times this past year. I can't think of one bad experience or issue I've had. It's small. It's quiet. And typically, flights are cheaper out of Dayton than they are out of CVG. Would I go back? Absolutely. I'm actually scheduled to go back several times over the next couple of months.

Scott W.

Yelp
Dayton Airport is always quick and convenient... but this morning the entire airport is a sauna. It's 5am and it's got to be at least 78 degrees in here. To top it off there is zero air circulation.

John H.

Yelp
2019 DAYTON AIRSHOW Let me first start by saying this is NOT a review about the Airshow itself. The Airshow was great! However, the parking & shuttle to and from the show had to be the biggest cluster I have ever seen in a long, long time. You used to be able to park in a field on North Dixie Drive and walk across the road to the entrance of the Airshow. OBVIOUSLY, some knucklehead decided it would be a fantastic idea to have everyone drive clear around the airport to Old Springfield Road and park at the former DHL tarmac area. Now at first I thought this was a decent idea thinking they had moved the Airshow to that Northern side of the airport so the walking distance would be shorter and they were making good use of empty space. HOWEVER, (revert back to the knucklehead comment above), this was just where you parked. Then you walked to waiting buses where they would transport you to the Airshow. Still thinking; not a bad idea. That is when we traveled from the Northwest side of the Airport to the South side of the airport, on an access road that went around the ACTIVE runway where show planes were actively flying at the time (keep this in mind for later) then back out to the East onto North Dixie Drive (where you used to park and walk across the road to the entrance) only to pull up the area where you used to go into the Airshow and drop you off. At this point you went through security and then on into the Airshow. Little side note... it cost 72.00 for four adults and THANK GOD my Grandkids were free to get in! We enjoyed the Airshow and then it was time to leave.... This is where the joys of an Airshow met the depths of Hell know one could see coming! When the US Thunderbirds we're getting ready to fly, they stated that "all bus service had to stop because they could not drive around an active runway" ( seems they had no issue driving you IN and around an active runway?). So, towards the end of the Awesome Thunderbirds show, we start to head towards the gates and the awaiting buses. Well, with temps in the 80's and kids (everyone's) standing on hot asphalt, the wait began. We ended up standing in line for 2 hours waiting on 6 school buses and 3 tour type buses to SLOWLY take thousands of people for the long ride clear back around the airport to there cars. It was not until the crowds became angry and started yelling at each other and the bus drivers (throughout the 2 hours I might add and an approaching thunderstorm) that said knucklehead in charge of this cluster decided it would be a great idea to call in as many tour buses as possible to get the people back across the airport. Then of course you wait in line in your car watching already pissed off people cut others off as they are trying to get in line to get out. I am positive that mine and others blood pressures had reached their maximum that afternoon. I might also add that there were 4 ambulances at one point taking people away due to the heat and standing in line. If I were them, the Airshow committee would be paying that bill. To any of the Airshow committee that might read this, you turned a fun filled afternoon into a burning Hell and if your plan is to pull this kinda of shit again next year I will guarantee your attendance and money (that comes into the city) will fall. I have no idea which of you knuckleheads (trying to keep this as clean as possible ) thought this would work but you failed miserably! I would have paid good money to have one of you idiots standing next to me that 2 hours! I salute those folks with young kids (my grand babies) included who held up against the heat! AIRSHOW COMMITTEE; I WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR BUT WILL NOT PAY TO GO INSIDE TO ENDURE THAT AGAIN! THANKS FOR RUINING THAT FOR SO MANY!

Emily S.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Dayton International Airport. It isnt too big or popular so it was easy to check in and go through the security line within minutes. The guys who work at the US Airways as well as the Delta counter are all super friendly. There is a fountain inside where you could refill your water bottles instead of trying to fill it up in a regular drinking fountain and not being able to fill it up all the way. It was easy to navigate around the airport too.

Katie H.

Yelp
Personally, I love this airport. Maybe because of just being in Denver and having good memories of family. It is under construction right now. But that didn't seem to be much of a hassle on our most recent visit. I will warn you that lines for United bag check and check in can get long, but they actually move at a good speed. Pre Check moves very fast, the team between gates come frequently and there's actually some delicious airport food here.

Tsyria T.

Yelp
I've only flown out once from Dayton, but from my experience they are pretty quick and efficient here. It's a small airport, so from drop off through check-in and bag check/security, it took me about 20 minutes. There was no line on a Sunday afternoon. Arrived at my gate to find that my flight may be delayed 15 minutes due to maintenance. Somehow they still loaded everyone on the plane and had us at our destination at the same time anyways. That makes me pretty happy! No complaints with the airline service (Delta). Can't comment on the food/airport goods since I didn't spend too much time there.

Katherine B.

Yelp
DAY-O! Me say Dayton-Ohio! Why hello little regional international airport! Thanks for making it so easy to fly in and out and get a rental car with no lines or trams anywhere! On the way out of town we had fabulous burgers at Max and Erma's (but meh to the cookies). I get it, Chik-Fil-A isn't open on Sundays, but when an airport is this small, maybe they should consider renting out their limited space to a restaurant that is. A single Starbucks and a few places to buy gum.

Tammy B.

Yelp
Small little airport. Security was ok, could be quicker considering the size but it's security right? Luggage came out fast, car rental went smooth so all and all trip was uneventful l.

Jill T.

Yelp
All the family bathrooms are closed whenever I fly from there. Makes it hard to travel with young kids. It would not be airport friendly to wheelchair passengers.

Adam S.

Yelp
I really didn't have any issues with the airport as a business. I was checked in quickly, when through security easily, and almost everyone was pleasant. That's the big complaint is pleasant attitudes. I get you work in an airport and might not wanna be there at 4:30 am, but if I am then it is obviously important to me to have a good experience.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Good experience, small clean airport. Easy to find everything. A little construction but not bad.

Henry J.

Yelp
The airport has ample cheap long term parking options available. The drive in is fairly uncongested, except for a small stretch where there's a lot of highway construction along I-70. There are free shuttles to take travelers directly from long term parking to the main terminal. Checking in is also a breeze. The bathrooms have been recently renovated, too. Hey, it may seem unimportant until you've been through a few airports with untouchable bathrooms! Compared to CVG, here's what I observed: 1. There's a smaller food court. 2. There are fewer travelers. 3. The shuttle drivers are more friendly. 4. TSA agents gossip more in Dayton. 5. Fewer power outlets available for professional travelers. 6. The overall feel of the airport is stuck in the 80s, mainly due to the airport intercom playing music you'd expect to hear at Walgreens or Walmart. 7. Boarding planes seems to be more efficient, mostly because the gate agents tend to be more flexible. For example, on my flight to Chicago the gate agent announced groups 1, 2, and 3 all together. In other airports, you'll get dirty looks if you try to board with earlier groups. With all of the above said, I still mainly shop based on price. There are some cheap options available, to be sure. But it still appears to me that CVG has cheaper airfare in general.

Yelp
I would prefer flying out of Dayton International Airport over CVG. It's cheaper and easy access to get in and out of. Parking very easy. The only problem is that it's 20 miles further.

Yelp
The curiously named Dayton International Airport (DAY) is my current "home" airport. I don't know how many international flights to/from DAY it has had, but I would bet that the next one will be the first one in years. The major carriers, American, Delta, United, Southwest, and Allegiant, offer service, however the number of daily flights in/out of it are relatively limited and unless you're destination is a major airline hub like ORD, ATL or DFW, you're pretty much out of luck getting a direct flight to most destinations. The airport does have ample convenient parking. Long-term parking is a reasonable $6 per day and regularly served by free shuttles to/from the terminal. TSA security lines, in my experience, have never been long. The terminal and concourses are small and easily navigable. Food and drink options are limited, which isn't a big deal since DAY isn't an airport from which you're waiting to make a connecting flight. There is a Starbucks past security and two Boston Stokers (a local coffee chain), one in the terminal and one past security, to get your caffeine fix. Retail options are limited, too, but the standard gift shop/newsstand/convenience stores are available past security. Unlike busier airports like ORD, ATL, and DFW, the gate areas are largely uncrowded and usually have sufficient seating to accommodate all passengers. The bathrooms inside the gate areas are clean and surprisingly modern. The only real negative with DAY is the time it takes to receive bags at baggage claim. When two or more flights arrive at DAY within close proximity to each other it may take 45 min. up to an hour to get your bags at the baggage carousel. I'm assuming it's a staffing issue (perhaps only one baggage handling team to service all aircraft?) since DAY isn't a sprawling airport with a hundred gates and a thousand flights coming arriving and departing daily. For an airport of its size, it simply shouldn't take longer to get your bag than it does to fly from ORD to DAY. Dayton International Airport isn't a bad airport. As an airport serving a medium-sized city like Dayton and the surrounding area, DAY is the airport equivalent of flying Frontier or Allegiant. It offers all of the basic services and capabilities of an airport, but it's limited and a no-frills experience.

Yelp
Easiest airport I've ever had to deal with. TSA: Quick and efficient, rental pick up and drop off, easy peasy, navigating through this airport is a breeze!

Yelp
Free internet bumps this airport up from a 3 to a 4. The security line is incredibly short! I don't know if this is new, but I didn't even have to take off my shoes or take out liquids! Once inside, if you have a while to wait you might want to hang out in the middle of the terminals, since there are a couple restaurants there. There isn't much food in the actual terminals. In my terminal (I can't remember if it was A or B), there was a bar and a starbucks. There isn't really any shopping except for the one obligatory souvenir store. Not a busy airport, but not a bad one to be stuck at, because of the internet.

Yelp
I love this fricking airport. Got their at 5:00 am for a flight that boarded at 6:00 am. Bags checked, TSA checked and at the gate by 5:20 am. How can you go wrong by flying in or out of this place?
