The sales team at this showroom cannot get through two sentences without turning it into smug political snark. It's exhausting. I’m an interior designer, I attend dozens of industry cocktail events every year, and I’ve never experienced anything like this. I was trying to converse about fabrics, joinery, line, silhouette, and brand lineage, and every time I tried to to have a normal conversation somebody from this company hijacked the moment with their bottom tier political opinions like they were desperate to show off how plugged in they think they are. It was exhausting and it had nothing to do with the work. Literally just regurgitating Fox News like a broken record, losing their mind is if they understand what the word Democratic socialist even means.
Later we left to go to a restaurant and the owner had his driver chauffeur us there. In the car, I had to sit through the exact same mindless berating, but even dumber. Nonstop political babble from a guy whose entire job is driving people around. He unloaded the shallowest talking points imaginable, rapid fire, super arrogant, and totally detached from reality. Completely self unaware...they actually have this guy drive people around? That says enough.
This is not a showroom, it is a political performance space disguised as luxury design culture. They don’t have conversations, they have rehearsed snark routines that they fire at anyone stuck near them. I’m an interior designer. I go to these things constantly. I have never been more turned off by a brand’s culture. I would not send a single client here, ever. No one gives a damn about your mindless political opinions.
