De Bosbaan

I visited this café twice after a friend recommended the tuna sandwich, which he really liked. First visit: I came a little after 4 PM and found out the tuna sandwich is only available earlier in the day, as part of the breakfast/lunch menu. I ordered fries and chicken bites, while my friend got the Caesar salad. The fries were mostly tiny broken pieces rather than full slices — not the worst thing, but a bit disappointing. The chicken bites were bland, and the Caesar salad didn’t look very appealing. The food was initially delivered to the wrong table, but otherwise, everything arrived without too much delay. Second visit: This time I came earlier and got to try the tuna sandwich. It was actually good — great bread and an interesting touch with the apple. However, I asked for tap water and was brought water with lemon and mint, which ended up on the bill. It wasn’t bad, just not what I ordered. Drinks were also served noticeably after the food. Service (both times): Long wait for drinks, long wait for the printed receipt — and during the second visit, the receipt never came at all after paying by card. The café is in a convenient location near the Amsterdamse Bos with a nice view, but overall the experience was mixed.

food: the menu is poor, everything we took was tasteless, a fly in a dish inside a salad, we asked to bring a non-spicy dish without sauce, they still brought it with sauce, the cook had to redo it. drinks: we took a smoothie - okay. service: we asked 3 times to wipe the dirty table where we were seated. They seated everyone on a cramped terrace, created a crowd in other free areas they did not allow us to sit down for unknown reasons. We spent 100+ euros on 4 people - disappointment. I do not recommend taking food here, only drinks.

Nice place for the family. The service and atmosphere are really good, food is not bad. We had a good time with our two months old baby here :)

The order system including payment upfront is not working for people without ideal (all non european). Staff was very rude in explaining and offered no solution, payment with cash/pincard was no option. In the end an other customer paid for us which was very kind (we returned cash). Only after you update your payment system with more flexibility and train your staff to be polite we will return. In the past I would have recommend this place.

A great place to have dinner or lunch or even a snack. They offer great choices ranging from meat to vegetarian food. And fresh made smoothies. Service is nice, the view relaxing into the olympian training lanes for rowing. The portions are quite small in relation to the prices. Anyway, a good place to stay and relax.

A restaurant with amazing view to Bosbaan and Amsterdamse bos! We came here with my colleagues and organised a barbecue night out! The grilled meat was tasty especially the spare ribs and burgers. The Kip sate was quite dry and unfortunately served a bit cold and the sate sauce nothing special. The grilled vegetables were also nice and especially the portobellos. The grilled octopus not really good (seafood quality a bit disappointing) but the salads and the potato side dishes were also tasty. The service was quite friendly and responsive and the drinks were ok. In the end we also had a coffee which was also quite good. In total a nice evening out for drinks and food with colleagues. I would come back to enjoy drinks or coffee with a very nice view…

Enjoyable food, for reasonable prices in great setting with above average service. Many vegetarian and vegan options! Will return
