De Chai The Colonial Hotel & Spa

The hotel is a little gem set in the side streets east of the city centre but close to all of the active areas. It is easy to walk from here to the town centre but may be difficult to find on your first visit. We had a Premier room which was large, comfortable and had great views. The bathroom was large with separate bath and shower, the downside though was the lack of anywhere it sit and relax in the room. If you want a settee go for a deluxe room but the views and windows will not be as good. The staff were wonderful in particular those at breakfast. They could not do more to help. The breakfast room is a little small but adequate except at peak times. The choice at breakfast is great, not huge but ample for anyone really. Eggs (any variety) are freshly cooked and delivered to your seat. would we return... definitely.

Welcoming and pleasant staff. Very accommodating & knowledgeable. Rooms are beautifully kept. Service is great. Perfect for family vacations. Pool is beautiful. Fairly quiet location. Very easy to walk around. Definitely a place I would come back to!

Good location, not far from the old town east gate, but down a quiet side street. Rooms nice. Good breakfast. Nice spa. Be aware, if you wanted to have a relaxing pool day, that the pool is undercover (and very cold!) and there are only 2 sunbeds, which only get sun for a couple of hours in the middle of thr day.

It’s one of my favourite hotels I stayed in Thailand. It’s beautiful in every tiny detail, shiny clean, has spacious rooms. The design is very thoughtful and make you feel comfortable. The location is amazing. It overlooks the temple from one side and has great Mountain View from another. You are in the center of everything but on a quiet street.

We loved our stay in Buri Gallery House the staff was super helpfull and very friendly. The pool is a bery nice add on aswell. The Breakfast was also very delicious with a big variety of different choices. |The Rooms were in very good state and we felt very comfortable.

It did appear to be true that you would get a free drink if you wrote a review here before you left, as mentioned below. I can see how this could be interpreted as an incentive to write a positive review but I didn’t take them up on it and this review is written four weeks after we returned home. I could do with that mojito now though.||The position is very good for the old city. It is down a quiet side road but you can walk to the Tha Phae Gate in about five minutes. From there you head off to whichever part you fancy exploring that day. So to be clear, there is nothing within four hundred yards but then plenty after that.||Being so close to the Old City you can’t expect huge gardens and in fact there is virtually no outdoors but just enough room for a small pool and outside bar. The room we had was clean and modern and everything worked well. It was a slightly odd shape but that didn’t matter. There was though no balcony so when you were in you were in.||The breakfast room was small but big enough and the breakfast itself was fine. The ‘bacon’ was, of course the American version of bacon but at least they had it. Coffee was excellent as is to be expected in this part of the world.||The staff are very friendly and you get a nice smile when you pass the desk.||All in all not a bad choice.

Locations walking distance from most everything you would need. Room has no microwave, took a long time for AC to cool the room, laundry service is expensive, room could have been cleaner and used some maintenance, and don’t be fooled by the “leave a review for a free drink”, it is a soda. Their ads posted around the hotel make it sound like a cocktail. Overall hotel is a 6/10. Affordable but does have its downsides. Breakfast was Meh…

Fantastic Hotel! The staff is exceptional and the room is very comfortable. The location is a short walk from the old city and so close to wonderful restaurants. I can't say enough about this wonderful boutique hotel. You owe it to yourself to look into staying with them.
