De Grendel Wine Estate and Restaurant

From the moment we arrived at this exquisite wine estate restaurant, we knew we were in for something special. Nestled among the rolling vineyards, the uninterrupted views of Table Mountain and Cape Town provided a truly mesmerizing backdrop to what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience. The two-course meal was nothing short of a culinary delight—each dish carefully curated to satisfy every palate. Every bite was a testament to the chef’s artistry, blending flavors and textures with finesse. Pairing these impeccable dishes with the estate’s exquisite wines elevated the experience even further. A special mention must go to our waiter, Joshua, whose elegance, knowledge, and warm professionalism added an extra touch of refinement to the evening. His recommendations were spot-on, ensuring that every sip and bite was a perfect match. Of course, an experience of this caliber comes with an upper-class price tag, but for those who appreciate fine dining, exceptional service, and a setting as breathtaking as this, it is worth every cent. You’ll walk away not only with a satisfied palate but with a heart full of beautiful memories. Highly recommended!

This was our favourite vineyard we visited during our time in the Western Cape. The farm tour is a must, Douglas gave us a wonderful tour of both the wildlife and rich history of the vineyard. Following our tour, we sat down and tried an amazing selection of wines. The consistency across every variation of wines was incredibly impressive. We would recommend to everyone and definitely visit again.

We had a celebration dinner and wine pairing evening and it was AMAZING. The food was absolutely delicious and the wine pairing gave us some new and exciting wines to taste. The view is unbelievable and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this wine estate for the awesome experience.

Was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and stunning view of the city lights set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and provided exceptional service. For starters, the chicken dish was the winner, but the seared tuna, while nicely presented, lacked seasoning. Unfortunately, there was a lengthy delay between courses, which affected the quality of the mains. The steak, when it finally arrived, seemed to have been sitting out for a while. However, the line fish was cooked to nicely. We ended the meal on a high note with the delicious apple tart dessert. Overall, despite some minor missteps, this restaurant's charm, attentive service, and tasty dishes make it a great spot to enjoy a night out.

Got engaged here on a beautiful evening with the sun setting over Cape Town. Quite a magical experience. Food was superb and the wine was exceptional. Had both a bottle of chardonnay and a bottle of the Rubaiyat blend (no we did not finish them both at dinner). Service was top notch. Will be back soon.

With a picture-perfect view, we were fortunate to enjoy a wine tasting at de Grendel. The staff was professional and they really looked the part. We enjoyed the large variety of wines and loved the cheese board. It was a lovely memorable experience.

In a realistic world I was looking for points to fault them on but I could not find anything. This place can be referred to as total bliss. From the scenery, architecture, stunning food and awesome service especially from our waiter Thabo! Highly recommended!
