De Haan Gallery Studio

As a workshop instructor and artist, I had the privilege of hosting two different workshops in the space this October. Maria and the team have crafted an accessible, beautiful gallery/studio in the idyllic setting of Deia. Some of the best views of the mountains from the terrace. Overall wonderful experience and looking forward to come back to teach again!

I’ve just returned from an incredible pottery workshop at Maria de Haan’s beautiful gallery and studio in Deia. Roz Wallis ran a moonjar intensive course and I have to say my throwing skills grew by leaps and bounds by the experience and with her expert guidance. The space is both beautiful and functional, full of lovely people and with Maria’s absolutely stunning pieces filling the gallery and inspiring our work. I can’t rate this place and the experience highly enough and will definitely return for another course next year.

I had a wonderful time on the 5 day intermediate course with the brilliant Roz Wallis. It’s an extraordinary place- a beautiful, elegant studio with a stunning and inspiring view. We worked hard, learned a lot, practiced and improved. Huge thanks to Roz for her patient and generous teaching and huge congratulations to Maria for her lovely studio.

I had a blast at a pottery workshop here! Thanks to lovely Maria and her wonderful team for organising the workshop. It has been given by Douglas and Marco two extraordinary ceramic masters from abroad. The gallery studio is spacious, airy and has a calm energy overlooking the mountains around Deia.

What a studio ! What a gallery ! What a venue in beautiful Deja ! Beautifull work and demo’s from Maria. 5 days intermediate course with Roz Wallis as a teacher. She is patient, very competent and you might learn to sing and dance for the same price. We worked hard, some days ending at 7.30 pm. No prblem for Roz and Maria. What a week ! Just back from a fabulous pottery workshop at the stunning Debate Studio in Deià. What a truly special experience. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, with beautiful ceramic artworks all around to inspire (and covet!). From day one, I felt supported and encouraged. The wonderful Roz guided us so expertly - taking me from multiple collapsed cylinders on day one, all the way to a finished moon jar by the end of the week. I learned so much and really enjoyed every moment. The setting itself is magical - the studio looks out over Deià’s breathtaking, amphitheatre-like backdrop, with the surrounding hills forming a natural bowl that seemed to echo and energise everything we were creating. It’s a place that feeds creativity and calm in equal measure. A truly memorable and enriching experience. Can’t wait to go back! Thanks so much Maria and Roz xx

The 5 day intermediate course was amazing . I learned an incredible amount and had such a fun week. Deia is beautiful and Maria’s gallery is exquisite! Such a serene place to spend time and soak up the views of Deia as you throw. I have met some really fabulous women too. Thank you to everyone involved
