A beer (micro) brewery that, deservedly, creates fantastic beer. It's very smooth and has absolutely zero aftertaste. I wish I could get it at home in the USA!

Beautiful setting, but overpriced food and lacking service. We had to wait a long time and remind the staff about our orders. They also forgot to bring cutlery they had promised, as well as the teabag for the tea. The service was inattentive — not rude, but definitely not warm or welcoming either. I’d recommend heading to the café across the park instead – they offer picnic baskets to enjoy in the park, have tastier and more reasonably priced options, and the service is much friendlier.

It's a great pub/bar which serves a variety of their home brewed beers. The staff were super friendly and attentive. There was a beer taster in the menu which allows you to enjoy 6 different types of their beers in small quantities. Overall a great place. However, before entering be sure to check your card provider, they only accept Dutch cards as they call it, i.e. maestro cards only. I had two debt cards and a credit card with me , all Visa and MasterCard. They were all rejected by the till, luckily my friend had one maestro with them to save the day. I found it a little odd for such a large business to limit themselves with only maestro cards, while even small vendors in town accept all kinds of cards. 3 star only for that reason otherwise they deserve at least 4.

We were an enormous table of about 15 people, and they managed absolutely flawlessly. Awesome (and speedy) service, with genuinely delicious food. Top!

Came here often when younger. Great memories, however this time around a 15m waiting time before a waiter came by, (after asking at the counter) and not a friendly approach towards customers. Sure it was incidental

It’s an amazing spot. It’s in the centre but just behind an alley so it’s quite serene. There is an inside but outside is great. A large terrace with sun throughout the day. The only thing beter than the spot is the beers.

Yelp
Ordered a burger in a bigger group. Taste was quite good, but the food was unfortunately cold. We were never asked for desert or drinks. They missed out a lot of turn over.

Yelp
Great place to meet, eat, & enjoy excellent cold beer(s) brewed by local craftsmen. Relaxing ambience & a perfect stop-in on a hot summer day. Garden terrace & cozy interior. Think neo-Roman and you've got the idea. Tasty menu & very friendly ( if a bit on the slow side) service .

Yelp
Had a nice dinner here. The bitterballen with the house made mustard were great. The frites were also tasty and both went well with their beer. I had the white fish which came with a salad. The meal was light and the fish very delicately flavored. They had 3 main dishes the night we were there: white fish, pork, and vegetarian quiche.

Yelp
Restaurant/bar/brewery in an old commandery of the Knight Hospitallers. Great terrace when the sun's out and delicious beers, brewed on the premises, to enjoy.

Yelp
Listen up people. I'm about to disclose my number one secret location in the East of the Netherlands: Stadsbrouwerij de Hemel en de Geest. (Brewery Heaven & the Ghost). In this city-castle like building they've got a brewery, a hotel, a restaurant and a cafe. If you're lucky and there's sun you can sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy an enormous variety of beers on their terrace. In the city-wall itself, which was used to defend the city, there are two small ward-houses. Since we're good for now, they've remodelled them into two tiny guesthouses/apartments. You can rent them for about 95 euros a night (a steal) and they give you a downstairs living room, bath, and upstairs bedroom. It's absolutely lovely and there's a lot more privacy then you would normally have in any hotel or bed & breakfast. Beware, the price may have gone up, since last time I stayed there was when I went to a Guns 'n Roses concert in 2002. Either way, if you do go here, and end up having a wee tour of the brewery (oh please do!) be nice to your tour-guide as she may be a good friend of mine! If you're confronted with a tall, flame-haired girl that can banter you up one wall and down the other, yup, that's her. She's been known to lock people in the cellar for a wee bit to cool off if you're not behaving, so better be careful! ;) The good thing about that: you'll be locked in with the beer, the bad part: she's got the keys and you'll have to convince her (or me) to let you out! Now go and get your beer on, but beware of the ghost!

Yelp
I recommend everybody to come and try there Beers, they have a beer taste menu for all there beers for ~15€. All the beers have a distinct flavor, you will not be disappointed. If you need some food to help you taste all of them dont worry, you can also have some delicious food. But keep in mind i'm only reviewing the Beers.

Yelp
I like this restaurant but the High Tea was a little bit dissapointing. The tea wasn't that special (revolution) and you don't have to much choice in what to eat.. To much sweet and not that very exciting :(

Yelp
I enjoy the occasional trip here, with their house brews and house bierwhiskey. The service can be a bit hit or miss, but the atmosphere makes up for it, with the massive clock and the stunning architecture. If you've never been, and you like beer, get the sampler. The fries are also a treat. Their mustard (and beers and liqueurs) is available for purchase, though it's a bit pricey. Just have it with the fries. Note: they close a bit earlier than some of the other establishments downtown, so don't try to end your night at it!
