Lovely seafood restaurant, cozy vibe. My favorite dish was the grilled octopus, cooked to perfection - crunchy. The shrimp aguachile was amazing as a starter, it was not too spicy at all. We did not love the cilantro fish; it was not very flavorful. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. Fairly priced.

Google
Loved De Mar a Mar. Unpretentious little local seafood restaurant. With friendly professional service. They go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with everything. Everything about the meal was great absolutely loved the prawns and highly recommend the meal. Sat on the tiny balcony and enjoyed te sights and sounds of Mexico City.

Google
The food, service and place area all really nice. I recently had the soft shell crab tacos and was not disappointed. Its kind of small and at peak hours you might find some waiting time.

Google
Loved the vibe, and the food. We didn't speak their language, but the staff was extremely patient and friendly while taking our order. The food was great, and the portions were perfect. The chef who prepared our food was a passionate and humble man. Would love to visit again.

Google
Liked this place a lot! We had tuna slices, aguachile and tostada de atun and all was delicious! Dessert was also delicious and the staff was really friendly!

Google

Spectacular and tasteful decor, mimics a retired sailor red home full of mementos. The cuisine is requisite, every plate is an original creation, full of flavors properly balanced.

The food was really good but I got food poisoning after.

Yelp
I was a little worried about how the food would turn out given the location (there's a California Pizza Kitchen across the street). Turns out everything we had was really fresh and delicious. Personal favorites were the Camarones al Ajillo, the Pulpo, the Yellowfin ceviche, the Mahi-mahi, and the suckling pig. Which was basically most of what we ordered... Taking off a star because there were a few options on the menu that weren't available, which was a little disappointing. And despite how delicious everything was, it was all fairly simple and traditional, without much wow factor to account for the higher prices. The service was fantastic as well, however, so this is a definite recommend!

Yelp
De Mar a Mar is a gem and should be included in any travelers itinerary to CDMX. We ate dinner around 6 pm, which is much earlier than most people eat so the restaurant was pretty empty. All of the fish items at De Mar a Mar were exceptional. Our tuna appetizer was fresh and bursting with flavor. The two entrees we ordered were similarly cooked to perfection and delicious. We also had a chocolate cake dessert, which was warm and satisfying. The service is extremely professional, and I also loved the interior of De Mar a Mar. The architecture and decorations are well-curated and designed. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious! I would definitely recommend De Mar a Mar.

Yelp
We lucked into dinner at De Mar a Mar because it was close to our hotel on a rainy Tuesday night--what a lucky break! The cocktails were ridiculously creative (including ingredients like soursop juice, eucalyptus, charred pineapple, worm salt, basil, cucumber etc--obviously not all in the same cocktail), and served in dramatic glasses with fun garnishes. In terms of food, we were four people and we shared four starters (yellow-fin ceviche, kampacho and blue fin sashimi (which they call laminadas), and a shrimp "envelope"--each one was remarkable, and served with flavorful sauces that complimented the dish. Our mains were also good, though not as spectacular--they offer Catch of the Day (mahi mahi today) prepared in three different styles. The plain one (pan seared with shallot butter) was nothing special, but the option served over spinach with a cream sauce was incredible. The grilled shrimp main was also excellent as was the chocolaty dessert. Overall a delightful meal with excellent service and cocktails!

Yelp
Amazing cuisine. Best food I had in Mexico City. As well, the service was impeccable and accommodating. Enjoyed a variety of delicious seafood, including pulpo, soft shell crab tacos, which was on special, a varied seafood stew, and a hamachi carpaccio. Everything was so yum! The view was also really nice, as we were seated on the second story with a balcony view of the city. I definitely recommend this

Yelp
Small restaurant near Zona Rosa with wonderful seafood and great service. The second floor has a terrace with some very cute tables along the rail. Their seafood selection is great. I highly recommend their tuna, which is regular dish on their menu, but the catch of the day is always a nice white fish option. If you order their white fish with cilantro sauce, you got a winner. Also, make sure you try their grilled octopus appetizer and their shrimp soup. They are both delicious. Their wine list is not extensive, but they have a nice selection of Mexican wines (some of them are very good) and some other Chilean and Argentinian wines. Overall, one of my favorite little spots in Mexico Ciry.

Yelp
I was craving ceviche and felt like a place called "Sea and Sea" might do the trick ......and by "might", I mean "absolutely must or I will sue you for false advertising". It did. Do the trick. And hit the spot. The exterior is a cute Cape Cod style powder blue house. Interior has cute shabby chic elements. In the grand scheme of things, not my personal style (if this were a true house, I imagine it would have lots of wall decals, plaques, and tchotchkes from Martha Stewart Living) but it worked. I had two starter ceviches as a main meal, and couldn't finish the second one. They were, in sequential order: - Atun y Coco (Yellowfish) And -De Pulpo Mediterranea - hold the tohmahto, extra green olive. Both were delicious. The yellowfish was creamy and had a coconutty kick from the marinade, but was sour and savory from the lime. Fish was so fresh and cut in chunky cubes of chunk. Yum. The mediterranean octopus? Do I have tastebuds other than sour? If I do, I wouldn't have known. This was the penultimate umami-est savoriest sour ceviche indulgence. The marinade was pesto like with the basil and heavy green olive, but did not overpower the succulent pulpo. Even typing this makes me salivate and I'm nowhere near hungry.

Yelp
Super quaint and modern vibe here. Love the decor throughout the restaurant. We sat upstairs on the patio/outdoor balcony. It's all seafood here so just know that going into your dining experience. We started with a mix ceviche, then had the "special" of the day that was scallops sashimi style. We ordered a bottle of wine and I also wanted to try a cocktail, I requested my ingredients to the mixologist and he create a light green apple margarita, it was good but not strong enough for me. We also munched on the tostadas and we ordered bread which was extra $2 and very small piece. I absolutely love the ambience and they had really cool lounge music in the background which just made it very nice to enjoy being outside and sharing a meal With my man. So men, if you want to impress your woman, this is a great spot and especially for afternoon drinking but beware you will drop some cash unless you have a business expense. The service was fantastic and I would recommend but just know it's not your cheap restaurant. Moderately high end seafood restaurant here.

Yelp
Disfrute de una cena y ambiente fantástico para mi cumple Detail, detail,detail...The owner thought of everything from fantastic food and wonderful decor plus spot on service. Mixologist created the perfect drink at our table. As for the food we allowed our waiter to make all the choices. Everything tasted fresh and amazing we had 3 different ceviche, octopus, queso fundido with warm tortillas, the 3 dipping sauces all tasted unique, shrimp prong soup and grilled fish. We sat in the best table on the second floor terrace. Can't wait to return to DF and visit again.

Yelp
I was looking for something to eat by my hotel. I only eat seafood so I have to make sure I have seafood options. I order the Pesca del Dia. I must say it was super simple, white rice, Veggies and fish but it was good. If you are looking for something w/ crazy flavors that's not the dish for you. If you are looking for something healthy and simple, can't go wrong w/ that. It was a good amount of food and I really enjoyed it. The reason why it has 4 is because they are over price. I believe that for a dish like that should not be charge $20+ if im in Mex. I have to admit that I love the salsas. The habanero, my fav. The drink was good it tasted more like a limonada than a cocktail. That's the other reason for the 4 Service was excellent Clean place And peaceful place. It's good for Fam They don't have a bar at the bottom floor, didn't go to the second. I would come back but is not a place that will be my 1s choice. Hope my review helps.

Yelp
I ordered the white fish lajas (sashimi). This was my favorite part of the meal. It had just the right amount of soy sauce and came with guacamole cream and spicy mayo on the side. Definitely recommend it. My friend got the pulpo ceviche which was very good as well. It had a pesto like sauce. I had the pasta with clams for the entree which was good, but I wouldn't get again. My friend had the shrimp tacos (note: they are fried) which she liked and said was a bit tangy but I did not try. Went there again with my cousin and she had the seafood stew. She got a stomach intoxicación. Haven't gone back since.

Yelp
Lovely place, great food. Attentive waiter. Enjoyed the table on the second floor balcony.

Yelp
Excellent seafood! All fresh seafood, when you come into the restaurant, not even one bit of smell of seafood! That's how fresh their seafood was. We had tuna ceviche with coconut milk, interesting taste. Good amount for appetizer. My husband and I ordered white fish. Mine was just touch of olive oil, didn't ask them to put butter. Superb! So tender and touch of Lemmon. My husband ordered the same fish but with some kind of Mexican sauce. The sauce should be on the side, not top of the fish. Nevertheless, both dishes were excellent. The desert! On my god, if nobody watching I could easily lick the whole plate! The corn bread with Baileys! I could definitely go back to this restaurant next time I go to Mexico City!
google avatar

Eloy J.

Yelp
Positive: although a bit pricy for local standards, this restaurant locates in a prime location in Mexico City and serves what I consider are the most delicious samples of Mexican cuisine I've ever had. Negative: we had to take a table in the first floor as we came with our baby and smoking is allowed in the second floor. I feel like the view from the second floor would have been better though and the space less crowded. Verdict: a place you should visit during your time in Mexico!
google avatar

Yelp
Favorite place in La Reforma. The freshest seafood- great service- and gorgeous ambiance, especially upstairs on the terrace. My favorite items- * enveulta de camaron y queso * tacos de camaron con chipotle
google avatar

Liz X.

Yelp
We got octopus ceviche, and raw tuna for starters. They were both pretty good. Two entrees they recommended were not as good, clam spaghetti and seared tuna. Spaghetti noodles are too hard to chew and sticky. Seared tuna tastes bland. *One observation we noticed, when we arrived, there were plenty seats on first floor, but for some reason we got seated on 2nd floor. Later we realized all the customers being seated on the 2nd floor were Asians like us and the 1st floor were all non-Asian/European

Yelp
Nice restaurant in town Mexico city and very good foods and drinks. This place is comfortable and near by everything it's mean shopping area, Bar and night club.

Yelp
Definitely want to visit this place again! The food and the service were awesome! The tables near the terrace were full so we had to have a table on the 1st floor but the atmospher there was also cozy and enjoyable. And the Italian desert was soo delicious. Not heavy at all and it was melting and just gone in the mouth
google avatar

Yelp
Located just off Reforma in La Zona Rosa, amidst a sea of chain stores and restaurants, this little seafood shack hits all the high notes. Máximo Bistro proprietor Eduardo García is the man who plotted De Mar a Mar's menu and his ingenuity shines in its offerings. Everyone I dined with was absolutely delighted with their food the night I came here for dinner. My camarones al ajillo were flawless and the memory of them carried me through my week and is still persistent in my mind months later. I found the service overbearing and at times a little odd but with food this good, I'm able to look past it. If you're after an excellent seafood forward meal look no further!

Yelp
Wow! How lucky to stumble into this place. So inviting and the food is top notch. We had white fish ceviche, yellowfin tuna, fish tacos, wine and calamari. Everything was so good. Plus the service was warm and helpful as well. Compared to everyplace else around the block, De Mar a Mar is a stand-out. Truly a high-functioning seafood bistro.

Yelp
Flat out delicious. Best ceviche we have ever had. Octopus. Olive oil. Pine nut. Heaven. Wanted more got my entree. Entrees very very good. I had the dry chili fish. Really good but I gotta be honest. I wish I'd gotten the octopus based on how AMAZING the octopus ceviche was. My friend had the garlic fish with chili threads. Another review referred to it and they were lying so so good. Now to the service. Perfect. They are there when you want them always. Let you enjoy when you don't. Good service is a tough skill to master, and they have it. If you like seafood and want amazing seafood with a Mexican twist come here.
google avatar

Terrance P.

Yelp
Yum yum yum. Pricy but we'll worth it. Very quaint place. The service is superb and attentive. English friendly staff and helpful with selections. I had the octopus which was absolute to die for. Tender and not dry or chewy. Flavorful with lots of seaweed and pumpkin seeds. The maguarita was strong as it should be. Definitely will return and highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is simple, with great food and service. Thanks Dante. It's unassuming building and decor are charming. As others have said, the octopus is amazing. Great value for money.
google avatar

Yelp
FOOD: Amazing ceviche de mar a mar, shrimp envultas (kind of like empanadas), and octopus with mashed potatoes (squeeze a little bit of limes on the octopus)! Their homemade chips and 3 salsas are excellent appetite openers. DECOR: Love the decor. Has great character and unique touches. Beautiful vibrant colors and has a chic beach house, tropical feel. Go upstairs and sit on the balcony area. Pick the chairs with the tropical fluffy cushions. They even have low coat hangers scattered between tables to hold your coat/purse. Plays some awesome upbeat electronic music, too. You'll start moving and shaking your upper body as you wait for your next course. SERVICE: Excellent! They swap out plates/silverware after each course, gives great recommendations, are very courteous and welcoming. Alejandro was our server and were well taken care of. Definitely highly recommended to visit this gem. =]

Yelp
I loved this place! Delicious, high quality sea food in an active part of DCMX, but charming inside that felt like an escape from the hustle and bustle outside. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The servers were so nice and helpful - I felt like a king. Menus were in English and servers were able to communicate in English, if that is a concern for you. Highly recommend this seafood restaurant - the salad and ceviche were delicious. The main dishes seemed solid, but my friend and I split a lot of the small plates, which was the better route.

Yelp
If you are in the neighborhood and you are looking for a cozy dine in, you need not look beyond this great little treasure of a place. Since the place is branded as a seafood restaurant, we decided to start by trying blue fin tuna ceviches, and they were truly amazing. The fish was fresh, and to my delight did not smell fishy at all. The thin slices of fish were perfectly juicy and its exquisitely balanced marinade was one of the best that I have ever tried. The fish tostadas that we tried were enjoyable too. For the main course, we ordered a tasty grilled fish which was topped with sautéed julienned chilly (not spicy at all), and served with rice and steamed vegetables. The fish was fresh and well cooked, and the dish as a whole was very well balanced. We did not know Spanish, but the hosts Ismail and Eric did their best to explain the menu to us before we placed our order. The size of the restaurant was perfect to enable them to attend well to the guests. The non-alcoholic drink that I ordered was excellent, and my husband enjoyed his wine which was suggested by our host. The meringue dessert was a tad too much too sweet for my taste, but I still did enjoy sharing the beautifully plated dish with my husband. Would love to go back to this lovely little place during my next visit to Mexico City!!!

Yelp
The only restaurant we visited more than once! The seafood is awesome! Pulpo, pan seared fish and the ceviche were great! The first visit we had mixed ceviche with a coconut base and it was awesome! Tickled my taste buds for sure! Last night i had the pan seared fish with spinach and again really great! Lastly, i rarely have fried calamari interesting enough to talk about, but this place had the batter on point! My last comment is in regards to the service... dayam good... they remembered us and made every effort to remember our specific drink request and unique orders! They got it right each time! Gracias and bravo De Mar a Mar! Hope to see you on our next visit.

Kim M.

Yelp
I would give this place 10 stars if I can. Amazing food! Excellent excellent in every single dish. One of the best ceviches I've ever had. Everything that the waiter recommended was great, and the ambience was perfect. Their service was very warm and welcoming. We were seated near the window, and it became chilly when it started to pour outside. The waiter brought a heat lamp to keep me and my sister warm. Was very touched. Their drinks were superb too. Would go back in a heartbeat next time when I am in Mexico City.

Yelp
This place is great (very clean) but the food could be much better. The tostadas and the salsa was the best part Our drink took for ever about 15min. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos and she claim they where good, my food on the other hand was not good. I ordered a shrimp cocktail with octopus and fish. I must say that all I tasted was the katchup and some small octopus and fish pieces never saw a shrimp. Next I ordered the arros caldillo - I think that's when things took a turn for the bad. The dish presentation looked great but the rice was not cooked enough (very hard) the clams were very muddy and shrimp was old with a fishy smell that was not fresh at all. I was expect much better based on the past yelp reviews. I don't like to comment much on service but the service here was very slow. Don't get me wrong they have enough staff but they are just chatting both in the dinning area and the kitchen. Sorry to say I will not return. For those that said this is great place to go for seafood you don't know what your talking about. I am generous by giving only 2 stars.
google avatar

Rick R.

Yelp
Great fresh sea food with excellent service. Cocktails are poured just right, great atmosphere on the terrace. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Excellent seafood place to visit if you are around downtown and walking off the tour bus. I went to one of night, not crowded at all. Great food from beginning all the way to the end, a good wine as well. I had mussel with white sauce and is carefully prepared, and it was wonderful. Highly recommended to visit.

Yelp
This is our second trip to the D.F. We passed this place several times on our first trip. It was always packed. So this trip this place was our 1st agenda item. This place gets 10 stars from me. The tuna tartare...no words to describe the fabulous taste, im in love. The wine selection.. imperial! (We are from Lodi, need I say more) okay, so the ambiance... this is Mexico! Professional good looking gente! The best of best! Service is good, friendly, outstanding! A must visit!

Yelp
Wonderful find. Yellowfin tuna to die for. Everything we ordered was excellent including the drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
All seafood dishes were fresh and flavorful. The seafood soup with rice was extremely delicious. The rustic chocolate cake with ice cream had great texture. Definitely one of the best meals I had in Mexico city
google avatar

Coco J.

Yelp
This place was delicious! Came here for a quick to go dinner but wish we could have stayed because the inside looked so cozy and inviting. I got the ceviche in the coconut milk - I absolutely loved it but just wished there was more of it. Count on the portions being somewhat small. I woulld definitely return!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Seafood restaurant. Great service and the food was super good. Will definitely come back again. In the main touristy area. Pricing was probably a little higher than the local fare, but it's still great value.
google avatar

P J.

Yelp
We ordered two of their specialties, a robalo ceviche and then tuna sashimi with lime. The ceviche was pretty good and was served with a guacamole and broken chips. I don't think I liked the broken chips, but the fish was good. The tuna sashimi was very similar to the Peruvian tiradito, in that it's thinly sliced sashimi seasoned with citrus. Overall the food was pretty good, but a little bit on the expensive side for what you get. But if you want to have raw fish, this would be a good place since the fish was fresh!
google avatar

Anna Marie R.

Yelp
This is a great place with very good service. The octopus was delicious as well as any of the ceviches. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Kacee G.

Yelp
Accidentally stumbled upon this place while wandering La Reforma and OMG it was incredible. Easily my favorite restaurant out of the several I visited in Mexico City, the seafood dishes are fresh, inventive, and beautiful. Whatever you do, order the octopus ceviche. It's combined with a basil pesto that you'll be thinking about for days to follow. The setting is also gorgeous and I loved sitting at a balcony table upstairs. 10/10 recommend this gem!
google avatar

Miller C.

Yelp
The food is definitely amazing here. I went there with my girlfriend last night. The restaurant was almost empty that time. However, by da time we were ready to order, a lost more people started coming in. Firstly, the service was just worth to be appraised. Our server not only spent time chatting with us but also tried his best to explain to me everything in English. Secondly, the food was delicious. If you are down for ceviche and broiled fish, this is the place for you. By the way, try their lemonade. Last not least, the price is a bit unexpected high. As everyone told me how cheap it was supposed to be. Obviously, that "fact" contradicts with the reality. We spent nearly $70 on three plates.

Lorna M.

Yelp
Food was very good. Service was wonderful, very attentive to our needs. Helpful suggestions. Cozy atmosphere. Ask for the Guanábana michelada, very yummy.

Philipp S.

Yelp
The restaurant was good, but they charged 4 times the price given in the menu. When asked about that they still insisted on the price. Don't go there as a tourist.
google avatar

Martin K.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. Slightly off the beaten track; the fit out is very modest but the food and wine was excellent. We couldn't find a lot of good restaurants in this area, Zona Rosa, so finding this was a gem. It's pretty much seafood all the way, the chefs specialities are raw fish dishes and cerviches, very simple, clean but great flavours! We ordered a selection from the menus to share, bit like tapas; not sure if this is how it's done but was great to try multiple things. The wait staff were really friendly, one guy even suggested we'd had ordered too much; he said he would only bring the first 4 dishes before we decided to take the fifth. He was right, it was too much as the portions are pretty big, even for sashimi style dishes (tuna in ginger and soy, amazing!). Would defiantly come back here next time I'm in Mexico City!

Lynn D.

Yelp
I was just saying to my husband that we've had some good food during our visit to Mexico City but no great food. Until now! The decor is super stylish, the service is very attentive and friendly without being overbearing and the prices are very reasonable for the high quality of food you get. Octopus ceviche had a Mediterranean flair, with a pesto sauce and the octopus was cooked perfectly - tender and not at all chewy. Tacos with shrimp and pork were savory and smoky. Invuelta with corn and shrimp was creamy, cheesy, and rich without making you feel like you'd have a heart attack. And the chocolate cake for dessert was more like a fudgy brownie with ice cream; the perfect end to an incredible meal!
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
Great food, great service and cozy, comfortable ambiance. The puplo ceviche was fresh and delicious with several levels of flavor. The tuna tartar was as good as it gets and the fish with creamed spinach incredibly tasty and perfectly cooked. And as an added benefit, the habanero salsa is the best I've ever had (and I make my own). Spicy yes, but the heat doesn't overpower the floral flavors of the pepper. Big yum. Will definitely go back again.
google avatar

Luis G.

Yelp
Small place, great seafood and great prices!!!! Highly recommend. If you like octopus, this is the place to eat it, fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff is just a nice addition to the food, extremely friendly and very attentive. Staff do it naturally and not expecting that you leave a big tip, I left 15% and the waiter almost rolled a red carpet as I was walking out! I guess they usually get less than that!! The decor is minimalist, though very nice and cozy!!!!
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
We had dinner here while traveling on business and staying at the Marriott Reforma which is a short walk of one block. The restraint was very quaint with close seating and an open atmosphere. Overall the food was good and many of the ceviche dishes were very creative. For a main course I had the octopus which was wonderfully prepared and season with a local rub that was very favorable, but not hot. The waiter recommended a nice wine to accompany our meal. Overall, this was a good meal and the service was also very good, but nothing was extraordinary.

Rick A.

Yelp
I met some friends who were visiting from Los Angeles. I arrived first and did not know what to think of the place. Unassuming with kind of a New England seafood restaurant look. It was small, but nice and has a full bar. I had the Mussels which was an excellent choice for an appetizer, my friend had the fried calamari which was very tasty. I had one of the octopus main courses and it was the best I have ever had. Not chewy as usual, but great texture and taste. The prices were very good too. I will definitely be back and soon.

Yelp
This place is spectacular. All of the dishes were amazing! I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Restaurants in México city don't have many reviews. This place had a little more info on Yelp so we came in. The ambiance was great for a date or a few friends. There's a bar inside and open kitchen. We ordered Arroz calsado, del Mar a Mar, tinto, and the merengue for dessert. Best part was the chips and salsa they give. Del Mar a Mar was also with chips. You eat with all sorts of raw fish and veggies. The disappointing part was the dessert. The merengue looked awesome but it's just a chunk of cream. They also charge for water - $35 for a tiny bottle of water.
