The best club in Amsterdam. One of the best restaurants in Amsterdam. I will miss this place so much! Always good parties, awesome music, nice people, not very friendly staff, amazing location! They created legendary place.

This review is about the Restaurant: Had a lovely evening here. I loved the atmosphere and felt immediately at easy with the kind and welcoming staff. The candles make the room very warm despite the underground vibe typical of DS. I appreciated the wine pairing, some very interesting bottles that I had never seen before. All courses were delicious and interesting, even though maybe some of them a bit less creative than what you normally find in similar venues. But overall a lovely experience that I'm happy to recommend - try it out before they (sadly) close!

This club is absolutely a scam! If you deserve some respect, please never go to the club! Believe me the money you pay for the tickets will only let you wait in the cold for 2 hours. Maybe you think it's because it is popular. Nah nah it's because they don't let people in. The queue never moved, and the room inside was half empty.

I wish I could give minus point. This place was awful. We had to wait for 2.5 hours in the queue with the cold Amsterdam weather. First we waited for 1-1.5 hours and when we were close the door, they DELIBERATELY waited us to make the queue looked longer as possible. When the security checked my bag, he took my expensive, high-end brand perfume and put into a TRASH as they have no liquid policy??! I sprayed it to prove it’s a perfume. They did not give me any other solution to put it aside into a basket or giving to the coat roam etc. Even airports allow it. Absolutely irritating and cost me a lot. And it was queue everywhere inside (coat room, bar, toilets) + the place was airless. Definitely not worth for the hype. Worst techno club experience ever.

When we got there, we felt a bit interrogated and condescended by the person managing the queue even though we had tickets and IDs. We noticed people waiting in the door sale line but inside the club was empty. While my friend only had to pay 2 euros to give them her jacket and backpack, i had to pay 2 euros extra for them to take my small purse so it seems a bit dodgy with the pricing and just comes down to whose taking your stuff and how much they want to charge you personally. Drinks were average priced but the overall vibe from the staff was kinda rude. The whole place was foggy and had a good sound system which was cool. It was a decent experience but not a place I’ll go to again.

Sad of how this club has ended.. I’ve come many nights to enjoy this club. But sadly I’m gonna say it is not worth the trouble anymore. Me and my friend were rejected today at the time to get in. And that’s okay, that’s not a big deal. What is not okay is how the guys at the door treated us. They boasted power, miss treated us, talked very disrespectfully to and discriminated us for being heterosexual. On top of that they stole us. Because they refused to give us the money back. This club used to be the heart of Amsterdam. Always felt welcome and well treated. Now because the inferiority complex of the African guy at the door, this club has lost it.

Our experience was lovely, the doorman was very welcoming and nice to us, he asked how we are and wished a nice evening darlings. Soundsystem and Bookings are quality on booth floors. Location is very unique and prices are reasonable, we stayed for many many hours and almost forget to go home. Only big point of criticism the heavily visible security patrolling the club way to intensive. Also checking toilets if 2 people go in there is outdated.

Y'all be robbing people. My friends and I were let in, however our personal items were confiscated and we were promised they would be returned upon leaving however when we left these items were not returned. Hundreds of dollars were stolen from us. Crazy this company acts like their for the betterment of the world however STEALS from their customers

This place is a racist location in modern days. Dont waste your time and come here. Its a waste of a location. I wish I could give this place a 0 star review. Our group bought tickets online a week ago and when we got to the door they rejected us and only refunded us a little bit of what we paid. Then two people didnt even get their money back. When we told the bouncer we were short on the money, the guy just looked at us and shrugged his shoulders.

Such a racist location. Our group bought tickets online and were rejected at the door. I have never been to an establishment that rejected me before I even entered. They rejected us simply because of our ethnicity and nationality. In addition, they didn't refund us the full amount we paid for the tickets. I am disappointed in the people of Netherlands and will fully express this on every social media platform available. We bought tickets for a event at this place and we got refused entrance just because our group was too "big" (most of our group was Americans). Even though, we saw a group of the same amount of people getting in. We got our tickets refunded for a lesser amount. DO NOT GO HERE! (Especially if you are foreigner).

So disappointed in this place. We bought our tickets a week before and we were denied entrance at the door. They didn't even refund us the full amount we paid. When I told the bouncer that I hadn't received my money he just looked at me and nodded then showed us away. It was basically a huge display of racism. They told us it was because oo group was too large. They let a huge group of guys in after us that were clearly drugged on a variety of things. I honestly can't believe that this is still prevalent in this day and age. DONT GO HERE. It is a huge waste of time and money.

Avoid! This place is too full of itself, and in constant conflict with its own regulations and rules. If you know the bouncer, go in without a word. If you don't, prepared to be searched too thoroughly. The general public at this place is quite cool, however, not quite diverse. It really has to be your kind of people.

We've heard and read that the place is considered to be one of Amsterdam's top night clubs. After arriving on Friday night and seeing that all tickets were sold out and the club was kind enough to notify all the people standing outside at the queue that they are completely sold out, we returned back to the hotel and bought 3 tickets in advance online for the day after (Saturday). Upon arrival on Saturday night, we stood patiently at the queue for people who have already purchased tickets. People were entering and none of them were declined admission. When it was our turn, the doorman asked us if it's our first time. We said yes. Then he asked us what we came for and I answered for a good party with good vibes and good music. Then came the next question: Who is in the line up. We looked at each other confused and then he told us that the place is for people who are familiar with the lineup and are eager to hear the specific artists who perform and denied us the access. We were taken aside and started an allegedly (we can't verify it yet) refund process with some other guy. Never in my 35 years on this planet have I encountered such a ludicrous situation. I've been to parties in clubs all over the world and never have I been asked if I know the lineup nor denied access (let alone for such a ridiculous reason). Seriously, if the bouncer is on a power trip and doesn't like you or the group of friends you came with, he will deny the access with absurd excuses. And by the way, we were not aware that we were to pass an interview upon entrance in the house rules: https://www.deschoolamsterdam.nl/en/house-rules/ This is simply unacceptable and is a shameful and disgraceful behavior towards the customers and guests of the place, let alone tourists who wanted to enjoy the city and its places. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON TRANSPORT TO THIS CLUB. SIMPY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE EVERYONE IS RESPECTED.

The cafe, restaurant and club are all top notch! Everything about this place is world class. The staff are amazing and the design of this repurposed school is slick as hell. A must visit for anyone trying to get out of the city center and see one of the other spectacular sides of Amsterdam.

We ordered the 9 course menu, and we absolutely loved every dish that they brought out! The whole concept of an old school being made into a nice restaurant was really cool! Great date night spot...and there's an attached club that you can venture into after dinner.

Excellent food, great concept, super nice service and ambiance. One of my favourite restaurants.
