De Tierra was so accommodating to our large group. Jeff, the owner, gave us the history and vision for the vineyard and winery. The staff was great in serving us all. The wines were good and not the typical fare - plus charcuterie and focaccia for purchase. Thank you!

My experience was incredible at De Tierra!! My best friend and I walked in to do a last minute wine tasting for my birthday. We were immediately welcomed and treated like family by the owner Jeff and the rest of the team. The atmosphere is clean and cozy and the wine is amazing! I loved it so much that I signed up to become a wine member because I needed an excuse to come back as often as possible :) HUGE Thank you to Jeff and the entire team of De Tierra Vineyards for an incredible experience and an unforgettable birthday!!

We had such a wonderful experience at De Tierra Tasting Room! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The wine was delicious, and we loved that it’s a dog-friendly spot! I also accidentally left my purse behind, and Jeff went above and beyond to make sure I got it back. He was so kind and helpful, and I’m incredibly grateful for his effort. This kind of customer service is rare and truly appreciated. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! 🍷🐾

The passion of the owners shines through in this wonderful tasting rooms. The Pinot and chardonnays were the stars of the show, along with the wonderful vibe of the room. Thank you, Jeff, for a wonderful afternoon and sharing your wines with us. (And yes, we brought some home!)

We had the BEST time celebrating my mother’s birthday at De Tierra this weekend. Jeff was super accommodating and helpful in setting up a reservation of tastings for our large group (16 people). The wines were delicious and the atmosphere was great! The late harvest Riesling is a must try, so good! Thank you to Jeff, Drew, and Daverle for helping us give my mom the best birthday experience. Cheers! 😊🍷

Jeff Meacham (De Tierra owner) knows how to make wonderful wine using sustainable practices, and he also knows superior hospitality. We met Jeff when searching for a Carmel location to hold a welcome event for our daughter’s wedding. We needed a space that could accommodate 130 people and unfortunately De Tierra can only hold about 60 people. Rather than just telling us sorry, Jeff found another local restaurant, Mission Bistro, to co-host the larger event. Together they brought great wine and food, and our entire party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Prior to the event, Jeff hosted my wife for a wine tasting where he was able to curate a wonderful selection of wines including the “Coco” Rescue Blend, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and a sparkling Brut. Each of the wines were amazing and we have gotten great reviews from all of our guests. If you are visiting Carmel it is well worth stopping by De Tierra’s tasting room and try it for yourself. If you are looking to host a wine tasting event, reach out to Jeff and his team as they do an amazing job,

Yelp
Parking in the area can be a pain, so if you can avoid driving I would suggest doing so. The area is very pretty so it's worth walking around to explore anyway. Regardless, De Tierra Vineyards has friendly folks who take the time to explain their wines briefly. It was fun to do a tasting and it is even served in test tubes, which was a pretty cool twist and not something I have seen elsewhere. The wines were delicious - so much so that I ordered a couple of bottles to be shipped to me while I was there. That was a very convenient option to have. I loved De Tierra and I will return.

Yelp
Excellent wines, great service and nice location hidden in the neighborhood. The bartender was very nice, knowledgeable about the wines and clearly enjoyed wine herself. After we got seated and set up with the first wine and a side of focaccia bread she disappeared in the back for a good 20 mins. There was a gentleman in there sitting behind the counter talking to his friends but could care less about helping to serve so not sure who he was. Could stayed and talked to her more but felt like she was getting busy. The wines were superb and nice to know that all organic and less sugar.we bought a couple bottle plus a bottle of "The Rescue" in support of the dog rescue organization. Highly recommend to order the Focaccia bread with oil and vinegar for your tasting. And if doing the Carmel Wine Walk you get to try one extra special reserve wine.

Yelp
I think that this place is great for avid wine drinkers who know what they like and have an affinity for red and dryer wines as opposed to sweet and light bodied. Service is excellent, no complaint. The place has a light and relaxing atmosphere. I was charmed by the chemistry tubes for tasting. Unfortunately my boyfriend did not enjoy most of the wines as he's a beginner and some of the wines were bold and dry. I personally enjoyed the red blend the most, I typically like bubbles for which I would not recommend to sparkling wine drinkers

Yelp
This tasting room is right in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. We never heard of this wine before and decided to stop in. So glad we did. My husband and I split a tasting a five of their wines. The tasting is unique as they come in test tubes so easily split between two glasses. I am neither a Chardonnay nor Shiraz wine lover, but I have to say those two were the standouts in the tasting we did. We even ordered a half case of the petite Shiraz. Actually, we went back the next day on our way out of town to buy some more, but the tasting room does not open until the afternoon. I don't think you can get any nosh at this place to go with the tasting. It's strictly wine. I recommend stopping by, especially if you like Chardonnay or petite Shiraz. They were very very good!

Yelp
After having such a fun time with the workers and people at the bar at the prior two wine tastings I did before coming to De Tierra, I was a bit disappointed with the vibe here (and didn't like the wine quite as much either). That being said - I did get here towards the end of the business hours with only about 1 1/2 hours left, and they had live music playing which ended 5 minutes after I arrived. I love all the little tasting rooms in Carmel, and it could've definitely been a better experience in other circumstances!

Yelp
Great wines. One of our favorite spots when we visit Carmel. Their tasting is good but I only like reds so I just order a glass or two of red (everywhere I go, not just here) instead of a tasting that usually includes whites & roses. Staff is ALWAYS friendly if the weather is nice they open the front windows to the sidewalk & a nice breeze.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere--a guitarist came in to play music which was't too loud despite the small space and added to a pleasant ambience. Everyone in my group ordered the flight, which came in test tubes. Overall it felt like a good deal compared to other wineries we visited that day in terms of volume, and each of the wines tasted great. The tasting descriptions were specific and accurate so that you could practice pinpointing flavors on your palette.

Yelp
We hosted my husband's birthday at De Tierra, doing a complete buy-out. It was a great experience! Jeff was easy to work with, helped us find the perfect musician for the event, and created a wonderful experience for us. The wines are delicious, and the location perfect for a gathering in Carmel. We highly recommended De Tierra!

Yelp
My friend and I made reservations & were so excited to try this tasting room after I read many good reviews. But we received very little welcome as we sat at counter. We were poured our tasting flights and served those. But had very little ,if any, interactions from our sommelier, unless I asked questions to learn of their wines! Man was distracted with many things and we were left to ourselves. I had gone with the intention of maybe joining their wine club and to attend their upcoming succulent class, but that's off now! If you want nice wines but not much in the way of personal attention you might like it here!

Yelp
Valentine's Day in Carmel with my love ! We love this quaint little expensive town lol! And found this great wine tasting room near Carmel Plaza! Walked in and were greeted by the wonderful patrons everybody was having a great time . We got the flight tasting and it came in these cute test tubes lol! There were 5 wines - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir abs Sangiovese were my absolute faves! Very rich abs creamy but also very light! I can totally see myself coming here over and over again to try more wines . It's definitely a locally hidden gem ! Great customer service and run by a cool couple !

Yelp
What a delightful experience we had at this wine tasting room. We wandered in without a reservation and were immediately greeted by the friendly waitress/hostess/server. We sat at a table near the fire place, ordered and were brought out tastings in cleaver test tube racks. A card with clear and descriptive characteristics of each wine was provided so we could sip and read at our own leisure. We loved every wine we tried and wished we could take more home! Delightful wines in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Love their story and the wines!

Yelp
If only..... Chemistry back in high school was as much fun as I had at De Tierra Vineyards in Carmel, California; I just know that I would have Aced every single test that was put in front of me. Before we get into the review.. Let me tell you about a quaint little town called Carmel-by-the-sea located next to Monterey. This beautiful place that's nestled right next to the Pacific is filled with great eateries, unique boutique shopping and of course my favorite, wine tasting rooms!!! During our most recent visit to Carmel, we wanted to try a new tasting room, so we went onto our trusty Yelp app and up pops up.. De Terra Vineyards! So we made our way to this hole in the wall tasting room and decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. The one table and two chairs they have available in their outside patio area had our name all over it and we knew it was meant to be!! My wife claimed our table and I headed inside to see what they had to offer. The gentleman at the counter kindly greeted me and told me to go sit & relax and he would join us shortly to go over their selection of wines. After perusing the wine menu, my wife went with a glass of their Chardonnay and I went with their tasting flight which included 5 pours ranging from white, rosé, to reds. "SCIENCE B!TCHHH" -Jesse Pinkman, Breaking Bad Remember earlier when I mentioned Chemistry Class from high school?? Well, like Jesse from Breaking Bad who probably would have done better in Mr. Whites Chemistry class had the test tubes been filled with wine, I too can honestly say that the science behind wine making really makes me what to be an A student. Presentation is Everything Definitely the best wine flight layout and I've ever come across; all 5 pours were presented in individual glass test tubes so you could literally pour, then drink each wine at your own leisure. Snacks you ask??? Did I not mention the charcuterie...oh my, How very rude of me!! Rhyming? Yeah, I've got impeccable timing!! The prepackaged charcuterie board was the perfect afternoon snack to go along with our wine and I highly suggest you get one or two packages depending on the size of your group. We decided to pick up two bottles of wine to take home which in turn comped my tasting flight fee; This is a no brainer price wise. Thank you to the gentleman behind the counter for your hospitality, we will definitely return on our next visit to your beautiful little town.

Robin R.

Yelp
Made a reservation and visited today. The tasting fee was steep considering it was a pour all at once and self paced tasting. Our sommelier made little conversation and did not even check in with us throughout to see if we possibly wanted to revisit a tasting with any particular wines. They must have over the top memberships already and no need for more. The wines were overall good but service seriously lacking. Won't be back!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting De Tierra this past weekend. We didn't know what to expect as we walked in and it was empty (learned later that it had opened about two minutes before arriving). We sat at a table by the window and were soon welcomed by our host/wine server, Daverly. She was warm and enthusiastic and welcomed us with a lovely glass of sparkling wine - which was delightful. We followed up with a tasting flight and were delighted with the fun presentation. Before we knew it, every table and seat at the bar was filled and the atmosphere was vibrant. Daverley never got rattled - just went from group to group with great little tidbits and pieces of information. She offered great insight and personalized our experience in such a perfect way. We ended up with several glasses, a few bottles and incredible memories. Already cannot wait to return. Thank you De Tierra and THANK YOU Daverley!

Yelp
John our tasting room pourer was a great salesman. He believes in the product and it showed. We ended up buying a few bottles. The reviews on yelp were consistent and we decided to check it out as we try to visit a variety of wineries throughout California. De Tierra did not disappoint. Favorite was the Pinot Gris (and my husband does not like whites and he loves this one ) the Cab Franc, and the Merlot. Overall great experience. We are from the Lodi appellation and we will definitely be back to partake in more!

Yelp
Fabulous place to enjoy wine and relax. Dan and Alix, the host/hostess are hospitality, plus. Doggies are welcome with outdoor patio seating. Sunday, we enjoyed the pianist singer and full house of cheerful visitors, with all the windows open. A charming Carmel cottage style place is clean, stylish with wonderful decor and lovely service staff. Treat yourself, when you are in town! Cheers!

Yelp
What a fun place to come a have a tasting. Upon walking in your greeted with a television that has a rotating photos. Very cute doggies and vineyard shots. The owner served us and we had a pleasant time. I had a glass of bubbly and my friend had a tasting. She allowed me to have the last sips of each taster which was a perfect sip. I've been to a few rating rooms now, thanks to my wine loving friend, and this spot is downstairs and underneath another building. Big open windows allow for fresh air to come in on a warm summer night. Calm a cool vibes with great wine. Cheers and try it out! Happy Yelping fellow Yelpers.

Yelp
De Tierra Vineyards Carmel CA Sun 5/15/22 Tasting Flight! Then we'll see Blood Moon! © Seeking a quiet & stylish wine tasting place. Da Best, oh yeah! I love it here at De Tierra! Best wine tasting room in Carmel, hands down, bottoms up! Back soon, promise! Will chill with a bottle of Brut and take some wines home with me! Remembered visiting De Tierra pre-pandemic, very relaxing ambience, good wine. Met John back then too! We had a meaningful conversation about wine and life, naturally! Past Sunday walked here to try the latest releases and check it out... sure enough, John's pouring! Great conversationalist, similar life views, you know the drill... makes for a nice tasting experience! 5 wines in a tasting flight $25, any one can be substituted for something else you'd like to try. I'm not a big fan of whites or Chardonnay, so 2019 Frannin White Blend was happily exchanged for Sparkling Brut - North Coast ($49 bottle). The other four, in this order: 2019 Russell Vineyard Rosé $29 2017 Santa Lucia Highland Pinot Noir $39 1016 Monterey Syrah (Voted Monterey's Best Wine $49 2017 Russell Vineyard Merlot $39 Yep I was surprised to see the test tubes haha! I guess they're aiming to be original... who knows! You take each tube in order and pour into large glass, gives wine some extra breathing time :-) As you can see, all bottles are reasonably priced, nothing obscure or overly pretentious. A wine is a wine, after all, LOL. Watermelon Rosé. Garnet Pinot. Deep purple Syrah. Midnight grapes Merlot. All good, distinct wines. Monterey Syrah from 2016 has Platinum Award, 95 Points, Monterey County Wine of the Year. It's deep purple in color, ripe black Cherry nose leading to cedar and allspice. Begins with blackberry and plum on the palette, quickly leading to strong black tea with hints of tobacco. Right up my alley! I like Brut in the end, even though it's dry, bubbles to me are desserty and sparkly delightful! Served in a double walled Thermo glass flute, kinda cool looking, should've had weighted bottom... without it, a bit wobbly, but sure brings intrigue to your sparkling experience! The extra weight would've added comfort and durability to these double-walled champagne flutes though. You'll like this extravagant design for functional reason behind their beauty, providing extra insulation to maintain the chilled temperature. Champagne is best chilled! You would've loved this! I know you would! Especially with me! Sending smiles with full heart! [ Review #701 posted with 9 pictures on May 19, 2022 ] *No, stars are out tonight But we're shining our own light And it's never felt so bright Cause girl the way I'm feeling It's easy to believe That you're all I need You're all I need... Yelp
I had been looking forward to a visit to De Tierra. We had tasted one of their reds at Taste of Monterey and enjoyed. We visited last Tuesday before the New Year's holidays. When we arrived, there was only one other couple tasting so we were quickly greeted and told we could have a seat anywhere. The tasting room is cute with a bar and several tables. I believe there might have been outdoor seating, but we preferred inside due to the chill in the air. Lots of windows, quaint, a huge colorful chalk board with tasting information - typical Carmel charm! Our tasting started very well. We opted for tastings rather than a glass and were informed it was "two for Tuesday" so we would only be charged one tasting fee for two tastings saving us $25. The 5 wines (a white, rose and three reds) were poured into tasting tubes and presented in a wooden stand. Each wine was explained and we were left to taste. Our tasting guide did check in at first asking what we thought of the wines and promised a bonus pour (The Puzzler) when we finished the tasting. Everything changed when a group sat at the bar (obviously the pourer's friends) and another group (including a wine club member) came in. We were not approached or acknowledged after and sat for quite a while (at least 15 to 20 minutes) with empty glasses waiting for the promised taste of Puzzler or even the offer of purchasing another glass. Finally, my husband got up and actually interrupted her conversation with one of the other groups to ask for the check. The wines themselves were ok. Included in the tasting was the Frannin white blend (Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc), a Rose, Pinot Noir, a red blend and a merlot. Neither of us were fond of the white blend as it was a bit acidic for our tastes. I did like that a portion of sales from this wine went to animal rescue. The Rose was surprisingly good. Both my husband and I enjoyed and we are typically not Rose drinkers. I preferred the Pinot Noir while my husband preferred the red blend. It's a shame our tasting experience was ruined by being ignored. I certainly understand getting busy and not having as much time to spend with customers. I do not understand ignoring customers to the point we felt we could have just walked out and no one would have noticed. So many wineries in the area with great wines so customer service really is key. A simple apology for getting busy would have remedied the situation. Instead, the iPad was simply dropped at our table so we could pay and leave.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! (1) The wines are good. Recommend you try the Merlot and/or Cabernet Franc. (2) Do you sometimes feel like you want something more than a cheese platter or chocolates to go along with your wine flight? Well at De Tierra, you can order tapas ir paella from Promesa which is across the street and they will deliver. (3) The ambiance is more local hangout than touristy wine bar. While we were there, people with their dogs kept coming in to hang out. I'm all for places where people can hang out with their besties.

Yelp
Very cute interior and lovely servers. Didn't enjoy the wine as much though. Thought the reds were decent but still not quite my palette.

Yelp
This place is so lovely and elegant but not in an intense or pretentious way. Stephanie had SUCH amazing customer service and I love her detailed explanations of the wines. The wine information menu was also great to have so I knew what to look for when smelling and tasting the wine. The flight with the charcuterie board is a slam dunk in pairings. We will be back, absolutely.

Yelp
Good wine in a modern space. I visited De Tierra vineyards on a Wednesday afternoon and there was plenty of seating available. The tasting flight was served in test tubes which you could subsequently pour into your glass. It ended up being 5 wines for $25. My particular favorite was the full-bodied Syrah. I would recommend De Tierra Vineyards and had a nice time.

Yelp
This place is amazing. So kind. They have dogs that are so calm and kind. So relaxing. The reserve wine is delightful and I am not a merlot fan but this one was amazing! I love that they recycle their bottle like this for candles and this cute succulent center piece. they are wonderful! They even let me bring it home since I loved it so much. I am so blessed to have found this place. Great time with my coworkers to unwind. We had the best experience. My first time in Carmel and I felt so welcome.

Yelp
I enjoyed the Standard Flight tasting which came with five tastings in a glass tube. I loved the look of the glass tubes and thought it was very creative. Their Christmas decor also made the already quaint winery feel homey and warm. The Standard Flight came with a Chardonnay, Rose, and three reds; a Pinot Noir, and two different red blends. I enjoyed the first two, but am not a red wine drinker, although I am always open to try in case there is one out there that will change my mind! Wonderful service as well! I enjoyed my time there. It's a great place to relax.

Yelp
Cute little place. Wine was great and the service is what got us here. They partner with #Promesa which is across the street, and offer various menu items, we went with their cheeseboard which were amazing.

Yelp
DeTierra is our favorite tasting room in Carmel. Great vibe, excellent service, and the wine is fantastic. I am a big fan of their Chardonnay, but the Puzzler red blend is a favorite too. The owners are hands on and treat everyone who comes through the door like a dear friend. We have met some wonderful people there and will go back whenever we are in the area.

Yelp
Cute and comfortable tasting room in downtown. We each did a tasting flight. Very nice wines, and definitely something for everyone. Friendly, relaxing atmosphere and an easy place to strike up a conversation (if you want) with other wine lovers. I always love a place that's dog friendly. The owner's (?) Doberman sat next to me (sweet girl!) so I made a friend, of course. Would definitely go back next time we're in town.

Yelp
Walked in the week after Christmas and had a great visit. Parking was a little hit or miss, but found a spot a few blocks out. We were greeted, seated and served by the blonde (Stephanie?). She was a one person show! Looked like the lone employee that day, so she was doing everything - hosting, pouring, serving, cleaning, and discussing blends. Our faves were the Rose and Puzzler, we bought a couple bottles for home. We were there after lunch and they just ran out of charcuterie boards, so was not able to try one. We stayed for more wine and spritzers instead. Nice, cozy place. Will definitely come back again. Thanks!

Yelp
Stephanie was very nice and very knowledgeable! She made great recommendations and took such great care of us to make sure our time here was memorable! We got a flight of wines to taste then got a bottle to take home!

Yelp
I had the opportunity to visit this winery last weekend. We opted to purchase a bottle of the merlot even though they are known for their Rose. The merlot was a perfect blend. The ambiance and owners of the winery were extremely friendly. Even though it was our first time visiting we felt like we had known everyone for years! This winery gives such a homey and friendly feel I would recommend it to anyone looking to hang out and drink wine. I can't wait to visit once COVID precautions are lifted!

Yelp
This place is amazing- specially if your a dog person and support local business. Their flight is super cute and gives you an idea on the different wines they offer. I loved the white blend and my friends enjoyed the red blend and merlot. They had their dogs in two bottles and I took those two to take home. Dan and his wife were super friendly.

Yelp
De Tierra was a welcome surprise on a cloudy and crisp afternoon of wine tasting with my co-worker during our day off. We walked in later in the afternoon and found only one other gentleman enjoying his glass of wine with his beautiful pup at the wine bar. We felt immediately welcomed and loved being around our two winetenders and the other customers who were enjoying their wines. We hung out chatting with the girls and each other for a few hours, and ended up also purchasing a cheese plate that was prepared by our winetender, and also included sliced apples and some bread. It was a pricey amount, but that's what you're paying when you go to a classy wine bar or wineries in areas like Sonoma and Santa Cruz Mountains! So suck it up, spend a few extra dollars, and enjoy yourself. I love the SLH wines, and was pleasantly surprised to see Tondre on their list. It's got that earthy yumminess to it that a lot of fruit-forward SLH wines are missing. The Viognier was also a great starter pour, and I enjoyed the entire tasting ride from start to finish. They also have a beautiful single restroom for customers, and are very dog friendly (treats to well-behaved pooches were being handed out hot off the presses)! I walked home delighted and excited with my 2013 Tondre Pinot and the 2013 Sangiovese. I am psyched to return to De Tierra not only because the space was absolutely clean and well-designed, but also for the gold star service and their diverse and beautiful Santa Lucia wines. YUM. Highly recommended microwinery.

Yelp
We visited the winery on a Monday, and loved that we were close to the only ones there. Lovely outdoor seating but also a nice indoor space where we were able to bring our dog inside. The winery dogs are friendly, the wines are delicious, it's a casual atmosphere, and the wines are affordable!

Joe C.

Yelp
We really just stopped in to get out of the pouring rain and stumbled into a great place. We were greeted at the door by security (their two dogs were little security shirts!!) and they made us feel right at home. We had a couple of wines by the class and they were very good (merlot and a blend). We will definitely be back and so happy we just happened upon this winery by chance!

Christina A.

Yelp
The wines were good but service was questionable We were there for an hour no one explained nor checked on us. We loved Freyia

Yelp
3/18/18 This is a tasting room. A small one at that. Not a vineyard as the name suggests. Just FYI... Alright... I'm not sure if this would be a fair review, so feel free to skip over if you are in the mood to disagree. But I will note, up top here, that the 2 servers who helped us exclaimed at least 10 separate times (not exaggerating) that they were surprised to find so many patrons stuffed into the little tasting room apparently right before we sat down. And well, you can imagine what that means in terms of service... That's not to say service was bad, as both ladies were smiling and very pleasant, and came as often as they could. I would just say it was very "rushed." One was clearly more patient and calmer, and I daresay more "jubilant" than the other, but often descriptions of the wines would be nearly finished as backs are turned to us, our servers running to the next table. Anyway, I think it's fair to say, it wasn't exactly a relaxing time to sit and enjoy wine. We ordered: 1. Flight of 6 Wines for $15: I admit, I'm not a wine connoisseur. I drink far more beer and whiskey. So take my opinion with a grain of salt, but to me the wine quality here is just about average, on average. The Riesling and chardonnay did not impress me much (though my gf liked them a lot more, so who knows?), their special "Five by Five" was a bit funky to me, but I did like their Pinot and Syrah quite a bit. Also, apparently this day was special and they were pouring a library 2008 Merlot, which I thought was very delicious! Pours were very very small, or generous, depending on which server. And well, unfortunately, the more stressed lady poured the stingiest, at most 1oz per serving, barely enough for you to really define a taste in your mind. I think the more generous lady felt bad for us and tried to make it up by pouring probably at least 3x as much. I really appreciated that, honestly. So, it was all kind of a mixed bag. I'd give it a 6/10 2. Cheese & Charcuterie Plate $20 "manchego, swiss, double cream brie, salami, prosciutto & spicy coppa": Clearly, food ain't there thing here. The cheese was quite plain, all of which not any more special than you'd get at Safeway/Ralph's, or some of Costco's plainer selections. The meat was just about the quality of Costco's bulk packs... well... okay, the prosciutto was a bit better than Costco's, and the coppa was actually pretty good. But overall, I wouldn't get this again as I have had far fancier charcuteries with higher-end food for a similar price. Also, since they were so busy, we finished half the wines already before the food came out, which wasn't optimal. 4/10 So, again, maybe we came at their worst time, but I think next time we'd rather go somewhere else. 3/5 #winetasting #carmel #carmelbythesea #detierra #winery #tastingroom

Yelp
What a lovely tasting room! Came in with a small group of friends this weekend. The room has plenty of ambiance, from the decor to the fireplace. Comfortable seating both at the bar and around the floor. The place was busy, but didn't feel overly crowded or congested. While there, we ordered some munchies - oh the most delicious cheeses! And, of course we did the full flight of tasting at 6/$15 (but you can also do 4/$10). Devon served us with a smile, even if we were a bit boisterous, and it was just a lovely time had by all. I'd love to go back for their trivia night or another one of their special events. Such a great place to curl up on a drizzly afternoon.

Yelp
Wonderful service and amazing Rosé. My husband and I enjoyed our time. We will be returning back soon. If you are in Carmel, check out De Tierra Vineyards

Yelp
When you enter De Tierra Vineyards tasting room you almost forget you're in Carmel-by-the-Sea. It feels homey, welcoming, friendly, kick-back casual. The staff are all friendly, including the new owners, Dan and Alix, as well as very knowledgeable about wine. Speaking of which, the wine is excellent and there's a nice variety of reds and a few whites as well. They're still selling wines made by the previous wine-maker, which are very nice, and they're coming out with new wines made by a local wine maker who has a great reputation (initials are R.J. hint, hint). De Tierra is open later than a lot of tasting rooms (until 8 p.m. every day during regular season, 6 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and 8 p.m. on the weekends during winter season). They occasionally have live music and they also have trivia nights, which we are really looking forward to attending. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Fantastic wine tasting room! We came in and did a tasting late into the evening and even got a charcuterie plate, and Alex and Dan were kind enough to cater to us after hours! We did a full tasting and were blown! From the whites to their reds they did a very good variety of coastal wines and did this region proud. Not to mention they have the cutest dogs on premises I've seen all over town! I will definitely be revisiting this wine tasting room as should you!

Yelp
I love the food menu, and the PUZZLER! (Red blend). Looking forward to attending a trivia night or paint & sip event. Kudos to Andrea for pouring while preparing food!

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after being recommended by an employee at Tiffany's. There were only two other ladies in the tasting room enjoying wine. We were greeted and set up with a tasting quickly. The ambiance of the tasting room was great, slightly calming with a little pep. We chose to order a meat & cheese plate with three different meats & cheeses. I love that they offered small bites, not only because I love cheese plates but because it gives more to the palate when tasting wine & cheese together. The wine was delicious and we ended up buying a bottle of the rose that my boyfriend really enjoyed. By the time we were leaving the place had filled up with wine members and people just passing through. Our next day in Carmel we will definitely stop in again. It was a great first time & im glad we listened to the recommendation.

Yelp
Delicious wines ! The Santa Lucia highlands Chardonnay was creamy, well balanced , not too buttery. The Merlot's were fantastic- all of them. The Puzzler was tasty and very drinkable without food. The customer service was outstanding!!!

Yelp
Disclaimer - I am not a wine drinker. This has nothing to do with their wine. Just the experience at the tasting room. * Great service from Brandi and very friendly. * I would also suggest their cheese plate. it is quite large with a mix of cheeses, almonds, bread and cranberries. * Very cool aesthetics. I liked the design of the interior. ten or eleven bar stools to sit at the bar as well table seating to accommodate more people with comfy big chairs. * We bought two bottles and got one of tastings for free. Don't quote me on this, but I think it was 6 tastings for $15 or 4 tasting for $12. * Check in on Yelp and get $5 off your bottle purchase.
