De Vie

By far one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had! We stumbled upon the underground cocktail lounge just by chance and were so impressed with Barney’s kindness, conversation, and cocktails so we booked the following evening for the multi course dinner with drinks pairing… it was all so delicious!!! The service was excellent and I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. They place a high priority’s on local, high quality ingredients (this even translates to their chairs and ceramics) and reducing waste. This place is an absolute must and I can’t wait to go back again.

What an absolutely spectacular experience! Everything from the up-cycled and simple-but-elegant decor,, to the outstanding and friendly service, and the FOOD- wow! The cocktail pairing of home-made drinks paired with our 5 course meal was just exceptional in every way. The owners are approachable and friendly, and you should book a table now before this place sky-rockets to a level where a table will be impossible to get. We loved every minute and look forward to seeing where this talented group of young entrepreneurs go next!

Loved everything about our night at Comptoire De Vie. Every bite of the carte blanche menu was incredible, the flavors and the locally sourced ingredients, all top notch. I don’t drink but sneaked a few sips of my husband’s cocktails…so well balanced and immaculately paired with each dish. 10/10. The space is intimate and welcoming. The staff were all so friendly who took the time to get to know us and provided recommendations of their favorite places around town. We found them on a whim and so glad we decided to stop by.

My spouse and I had a wonderful evening tonight at De Vie enjoying their cocktail tasting menu! The owners - Alex & Barney - made us feel right at home, serving up some of the most delicious cocktails we’ve had in a while paired with some lovely “bar snacks” (read: elevated). The bar and restaurant itself was a work of artistry - their attention to detail evident throughout from the bar (made from volcanic stone) to the carefully selected ceramics which they served the cocktails. The ingredients in the drinks fit perfectly with one another … I highly recommend putting them on your list to visit!

Lovely cocktail bar experience. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. Gorgeous space and so much creativity with the drinks and bar snack pairing. The non-alcoholic tasting was very unique.

Uniquely personalized in how they plate and serve each dish revealing a commitment to innovation and detail that crosses into their masterful drink pairings. The “how” and “why” is a curiously delicious story that illuminates the subtleties of their use of herbs and spices that leave your mouth wanting more… we will be back.

Short review: an absolutely fantastic establishment, one of my favourite places anywhere in the world, without any exaggeration! Long review: if you are looking for an amazing experience, the best cocktails, ingenious and delicious food and friendly folks, this is the place! Seriously, don’t hesitate and just book it, I guarantee you will be impressed! The cocktails are all so unique and they focus on ingredients from France. The food was unbelievable good. The food is extremely well balanced, unique and of course extremely tasty. Barney is a fantastic owner, extremely friendly. In fact all of the staff are fantastic! If I could give this place 6 stars out of 5 I would. In a word - fantastic!

This is one of those incredible restaurant experiences that we all seek out but rarely find. De Vie has assembled an exceptional team, each with the absolute highest pedigree, and it shows in the service, food and the paired drinks experience. We will never forget our night here
