I recently had a stay at 40 Napier Street, hosted by De Waterkant Cottages.
Here follows my findings:
1. Reference to their website, the cottage is supposed to be serviced every day. Don't know if it's an optional extra, but, we didn't even get a request for servicing in 3 days.
2. The cottage has 2 bedrooms.
- Both rooms beds were the worst beds I've ever slept on. Think kitchen counter hard, that's how they felt.
- I have bitemarks all over my body from what I take was caused by bedbugs.
3. Nowhere could i find some pillows for the outside furniture.
4. Coffee etc that was left for us was probably worse than a road lodge budget hotel room.
5. Not only did they not come in to clean, they also didn't leave sufficient cleaning materials (dishwash liq, soaps, black bags etc.) for me to clean myself.
6. The dstv package was atrocious. I'm sorry guys, but we couldn't even watch the rugby?!
Overall for a stay in the center of the most exclusive up and coming area in SA... Together with costs to rent per day, I was very disappointed.
On to the better aspects of the cottage:
1. The views OMG
2. The Location OMG
3. The pool OMG
4. The enery of the place OMG
5. WIFI on point
6. Bathrooms and showers on point
7. Kitchen reasonably set up for cooking.
8. The cottage is very private and discreet.
So overall, did I enjoy my stay, yes.
Will I be back, not likely.
De Waterkant Cottages are more than welcome to contact me regarding this review and my views on the matter.
