This shop is an absolute gem! It's cozy and curated with a wide selection of books and gift items related to true crime and interesting oddities. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about local crime and has done tours and has a podcast. One of my favorite parts about the store? Two shop cats! For one of my visits, the cats let me look but not touch...until I bought something. Then one of them couldn't get enough attention. I think they are very well trained! Love this store!

FINALLY made it in to this store lol. Been trying to get here for a while. I was passing by on my way back across the state and decided to make a pit stop lol. Said pit stop did not disappoint! The shop is split in 2 sections-books and not books/gift type things. They had stuffies, rocks, stickers, pins, candles, and just so many things. They had these stuffie organs. I was hoping there was a gallbladder one bc I just had mine out a few months ago but sadly there was not one. And the books. Omg, how does one choose just one when they all look like great reads?! I narrowed it down between a couple books. Still couldn't decide so I had the black cat help me lol. I honestly cant wait to come by the shop again!

I love Deadtime! I made my first visit in January and go at least once a month. Whenever I have family over from out of town, I take them to Deadtime. I love the store’s vibe and they have cats! They have a little gift shop as well and I bought the cutest cat skeleton hair clip and matching earrings. I started going to the monthly book club and it’s so much fun! Jen is so nice and knowledgeable!

Perfect place to stop if you're into true crime, mysteries, thrillers, horror, and local history. They also have a large collection of jewelry, stuffed animals, pins, magnets, water bottles, puzzles, figurine sets, and even kids' books. The owner is kind and knowledgeable, and her kitties (assistants) help her keep an eye on the shop.

A wonderfully curated store! We visited on Mother’s Day weekend, and the display was on point - even made my husband chuckle a little. Shelves are well organized and creatively titled/labeled. You’ll love wandering the shelves if you’re into true crime, horror, non-fiction, local, and anything in that realm, but there’s more tucked in there as well. It’s always a good time when we can make it out that way.

I simply cannot stop talking about what a wonderful time I had shopping here yesterday. My friend and I were in town for the afternoon and wanted to go to a bookstore, Deadtime came up first, and it looked amazing from the reviews on Google. We were immediately greeted upon entering and I was delighted to see the lovingly curated inventory, I think we spent the better part of 45 minutes combing through the interesting stuff in the shop and I still don't think I saw everything. The first room is almost all books, the categories and sorting intend that anyone who walks in could find something to their liking. I picked up a book about Amercian crypids and a cozy vampire romance. The second room has trinkets and gifts, jewelry, bath and body products, plushies, tarot decks, ghost hunting equipment, spiders and equipment needed to care for the spiders and most delightfully, this is where I realized that there were shop cats! I don't know about you, but the presence of a shop cat makes everything better for me. Staff was delightful and made everyone feel welcome, you can tell that this shop has a lot of dedication and love poured into it. I'm going to have to come back to do some more holiday shopping. Thank you for such an awesome highlight to our Lansing visit!

I love finding small bookstores. This one is very cool, I loved how the theme was presented all throughout. I appreciate their selection, and how they have new-print books as well as smaller titles. Very cool place, especially if you like true crime, mystery, horror, fantasy, or dark romance.
