10 of the Best National Parks in Africa

You can see a memorable scenery!! However, it's a long way to get there, so it's hard. We recommend that you prepare well and collect information in advance. Also, even a 4WD car was stuck in the sand, so it is better to use a local piston car. I think it was 200 Namibian dollars for a round trip. (Other than that, except for the desert, I was able to go with 2WD without any problems. However, there are roads that cannot be speeded with 2WD)

Absolutely stunning place to visit! Drive there as early as possible to avoid high heat. Walk to Deadvlei valley from car park is 30 mins or less ON SAND! can be difficult terrain. So peaceful and special - what an absolute honour to visit here. Pictures have no filter

Amazing places to visit. Take water and sun cream because it is 15 mimutes walk in one way. And better come here in the morning. This is one of the most iconic places in Namibia. It's a beautiful area where you'll find sun-scorched tree stumps rising from a cracked salt flat, surrounded by towering red dunes. DeadVlei means "dead marsh." Vlei is the Afrikaans word for lake or swamp, and dead because everything around it seems otherworldly. Deadvlei is a white clay pan located in Sossusvlei, a valley between dunes in Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia. It is the oldest desert in the world, dating back over 80 million years. The trees are estimated to be around 800 years old and died because there was no longer enough water to survive. The remaining tree skeletons are now black and scorched by the intense heat. From parking, you can pay 10$ for a jeep 4x4 to take you here if you can not go with your car.

Me, My mother and my son just had a wonderful and unforgettable time here, enjoying not only the natural beauty and cultural diversity but also the comfort and amenities of Camping site. You can stay in the campsite for the night, and pay the entrance fee in advance before 18:00, then the next day you needn’t to worry about the long queue. You will have plenty of time to wait for the sunrise on top of Dunes 45.

I was seriously blown away by the view—it looked like something straight out of a Windows wallpaper or another world. Even driving through the desert road to get there was so much fun!

It was indeed a full day trip out. At DeadVlei main car park, you can pay for a 4×4 to take you nearer to the sight or use your own vehicle. A little walk gets you to DeadVlei. The heat was 40 degrees C, and one should keep themselves well protected from the sun. Plenty of water is needed too. What a beautiful and interesting place. Was it worth my 225-mile drive to visit? Yes.

Sossusvlei park is more than Deadvlei, which is amazing. Is a place to connect with nature and the vastness of Namib Desert. Hint: climb the Big Daddy Dune, is a bit hard (especially if windy) but absolutely worth it the view on the top. Staying down at Deadvlei is just 40% of the experience. We took around 2h climbing, photo and descent

Deadvlei is a majestical wonder! I always make a point of going past this location even if I have seen this before. It is just breathtakingly beautiful! It is a bit of a walk to get to the deadvlei from the parking area (+-2km), the difficult park of this is the thick sand. Once there you won’t regret it.
