We recently stayed at Dear Lisbon Charming House 10/26-10/28/2025. For my husbands birthday, they were so kind and brought us goodies to the room including pastel de natas, wine, and a chocolate brownie. Our room was gorgeous with a beautiful view, and we greatly enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. Breakfast and coffee here were hilights of our trip! The hotel is located in a very walkable part of town, we were able to walk to dinner and to a beautiful sunset spot to enjoy views of Lisbon and enjoy vino verde. Staff at this location were all very kind and helpful!

Dear Lisbon - Charming House was an excellent small boutique hotel located in a fabulous neighborhood. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, and the breakfast was great. Our favorite part was being in a non-touristy neighborhood where we ate great food at A Obra and did 2 outstanding wine tastings at Vinhos do Manuel II-Santos/Madragoa. The location of the hotel made it walkable to the ocean/squares, and it was downhill to catch the Yellow Bus Hop-On/Hop-Off. If you’re not used to walking uphill, you may want to consider an Uber to get back to the hotel after walking around. The staff at the hotel also assisted us with getting a driver to pick us up at the airport and also take us to the port. Gonzales and Ana were very friendly and informative. Prior to arriving I had several questions and when I emailed the hotel, they immediately got back to me and offered suggestions. We would absolutely recommend this hotel and will be back when we visit Lisboa again!

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Location was not your typical hotel location and there were only 16 rooms. My room was on the fourth floor and there was no elevator. The room had low ceilings in spots which wasn't great for me since I'm 6'3" tall but I got used to it. The hot water took about 3-4 minutes to warm up. The bed was two mattresses butted together which made for a canyon in-between them after I rolled around a few times. Overall, the experience was very good, and I would recommend it if your prepared for it to be a different experience than staying in a typical hotel.

We really enjoyed certain aspects of our stay at Dear Lisbon – Charming House. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was excellent, varied and generous. That being said, a few details could be improved: the bathroom ventilation was very loud, the water temperature was difficult to regulate (from boiling to very cold) and early morning activity from the staff in the corridors could be heard in the room. Overall, it’s a charming place with wonderful potential — with just a few adjustments, the experience could easily become outstanding.

Room was alright and staff was nice, but the advertised pool looked green from a distance, the hotel was 300-400 yards up a very steep one way, no outlet road with no nearby parking, and there's no elevator to help bring up luggage. No fridge in the room, very small TV, hot water took a very long time to start in the shower. Felt very expensive for the quality of what we experienced. When we were leaving early in the morning, new guests were outside with all of their luggage around 5am with no way to get into the lobby to retrieve the key that was left for them on the desk. Luckily my husband and I were up and able to let them in. The hotel did leave sandwiches and juice for us the night before our early morning checkout, but we missed the breakfast we paid for the day before (we stayed at the Gallery House before at I thought the Charming House's breakfast also went until 10:30am). We were on the 5th floor of the building off the back patio and the view was lovely, but would have avoided this hotel if I realized how hard it was to get to or that there was no elevator.

They advertised that every room has air conditioning but after arrival I was told they manually disengaged every unit in the hotel so that guests cannot cool their rooms down (so they can save money). |Furthermore, I was told it is not safe to leave my window open at night so I have to sleep in a hot room with no air circulating. This is upsetting and unacceptable. I would have NEVER booked a night here if I had been told that there is no air conditioning. I specifically booked here BECAUSE there was a/c. I am upset and angry and will get no sleep. The short amount of time I have had my window open, smoke from people smoking on the street is wafting into my room. This is a bait and switch and Dear Lisbon -Charming House should be heavily fined so they are incentivized to not rip off their customers by lying about what facilities they falsely advertise they have online on booking.com and their website. Women who are pregnant, in perimenopause, and menopause typically suffer from hot flashes, and to discriminate against us by lying about having air conditioning, & trapping us in a room that you KNOW does NOT have something that can make a difference in us getting sleep or not getting any sleep is disgusting. F you owners and managers of Dear Lisbon- Charming House. This is not a women friendly establishment. Ladies, go elsewhere.

The people who work at The Charming House were the best part of the experience. The women who worked there were so nice, so friendly and so helpful. The second best part was the breakfast they served each morning. It was a spread! Fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, eggs and bacon and fresh pastries just to mention some of the items. Then there were the cappuccinos they made for us. Delicious! The rooms were clean and cute. The only disappointment was that the pool was smaller than we expected, so if you are traveling with kids who are looking forward to swimming, this may not be your place, but if you are looking to enjoy the charm of Lisbon and it's people, The Charming House is a great choice.
