They had pretty creative and out of the box flavors. I tried the award winning cheeseboard but wasn't my thing. I tried and the Mexican spiced chocolate and thought it was interesting and got a scoop but I hated it the more I had it and it was not pleasant at all. I appreciate the creativity but I'd like to see a well executed classic list first then these options but basically this was their entire offerings and if thats not your taste well that's just too bad I guess

Google
Absolutely phenomenal gelato! Death in Venice has quickly become my new favourite spot. The flavours are truly out of the box and incredibly well executed. I had the smoked pecan and maple butter tart flavour and it was a perfect 10/10. Rich, unique, and totally memorable. The interior is super cute and inviting, with a fun selection of other treats like artisanal chocolate bars, fruit preserves, and jellies. A must visit for anyone looking for an elevated gelato experience.

Google
Absolutely loved this gelato spot! The flavours were rich and you can tell real ingredients were used. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to let us sample a few before deciding.

Google
Gelato is ok - I’ve thrived the cheeseboard (it’s good in the beginning but the wine flavour was overwhelming towards the end) Went back to try some new flavours and I would say the basil strawberry is one of the better flavours! Pictured is the chocolate coconut vanilla

Stopped by Death in Venice Gelato and was pleasantly surprised by how creative and thoughtful everything felt — from the bold flavours to the beautiful interior. The shop itself is quite small with limited seating, but the vibe is cozy and artistic. I tried their award-winning Cheeseboard flavour, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. You can taste the Brie, walnuts, pear, and wine — each element comes through in layers, like a dance of flavours. It genuinely felt like having a bite off a fancy cheeseboard, just in gelato form. It’s not something you come across often. We also tried the Turkish Delight, which was soft, floral, and well-balanced. I sampled the Whiskey Smoked Chocolate too — rich and smoky, with a strong whiskey note. Not my style, but it would be perfect for someone who enjoys a deep, boozy flavour. One thing I really appreciated was how none of the gelatos were overly sweet — each flavour bold, complex and was carefully balanced, letting the ingredients speak for themselves. You’re allowed to sample two before making a choice, which is great when the menu is full of bold and intriguing options. Overall, Death in Venice is a must-visit for anyone who loves artisanal gelato with a twist. If you’re tired of the usual chocolate and vanilla, this place will definitely surprise and delight your palate.

Google
Tried their soft serve ricotta and honey ice cream – it was really good! The flavors were unique and delicious. One tip for the shop would be to offer more choices for the other ice creams. Also, I felt that the quantity received didn't quite justify the price. Overall, it's a cool place with interesting flavors.

Google
Great Vegan options. While it is really good, i struggle with value for money. The staff was pleasant, and there was not much seating. I do understand it is an ice cream store. They have some very interesting flavors. Definitely worth trying.

Google
I went in looked at the flavors and couldn't decide. 🤗 Was very indecisive with all the flavours as they sound all so good. I worked at an ice cream shop when I was 16 and always offered a try. The girl just stood there and I had to ask can I please try. And then asked for another try, as you can try 2, noted on the sign. Regardless the ice cream was delicious. I would recommend people try it out! 😊

Yelp
Had to find out what all the hype was about! Their Cheeseboard gelato was fantastic-- it had a swirl of wine, the cheese flavours weren't too overpowering, and the walnuts gave it great texture. The Coconut Pandan was a bit bland; given the crunch of the Cheeseboard, it felt underwhelming in comparison. The place also houses a bakery called Butter and Spice, which I'll try next time.

Yelp
A cool ice cream shop that has unique flavours to choose from. Was craving something sweet after dinner and decided to walk over to Death in Venice Gelato after a quick Yelp search in the area. Upon arriving, there was already a mini lineup inside. The inside was HOT, I found myself already sweating during my wait for ice cream. The line is slow, since everyone takes a while to decide what flavours to try and sample. You get 2 samples per person which is great since their flavours are so different from your usual traditional flavours of vanilla or chocolate. Some of the cooler flavours they have are: mango coconut lime leaf (vegan), peanut butter croissant, bourbon smoked chocolate, mexican spiced chocolate, cheeseboard, blueberry lavender lemonade, boozy tiramisu and more! They also have two soft serve options, when I was there, they had Sicilian Hazelnut and Raspberry + Staranise. In the end after having my two samples, I opted to go with the Sicilian Hazelnut option and it was truly delicious, a full 5/5 rating. It was creamy and full of flavour, perfect for the summer heat. A great ice cream spot for after dinner and during the summer.

Yelp
Good tasting gelato. Nice that it's a neighbourhood shop. Price is 5.99 for a single scoop. And it costs extra if you want a cone. I had a single scoop matcha vanilla nothing too strange but someone told me their cheeseboard is famous so I'll have to come back to try it.

Yelp
I just don't get the hype. The Gelato flavors don't make any sense. I tried 2 (bc they limit you to 2) and I suspect all would have a similar base line - tangy/Citrus. Such an odd pairing for Gelato or soft serve. I definitely made the mistake of getting their Strawberry Yuzu vegan soft serve and 100% so not recommend. I made a further mistake of getting one is the large waffle cone and another in a charcoal cone. Due to the size of the cone, you will be served different portions of the soft serve. Made zero sense after paying $20 for both. I used to enjoy their coffee many years ago when this place first started getting notoriety, but then their coffee quality also went down so I skipped the coffee today to try their Gelato and for the price point .... this is not that place unfortunately. I don't get it. Many other reviewers also don't seem to get the flavors nor the positive reviews.

Yelp
I went to the location inside The General Assembly Pizza restaurant. (333 Adelaide St W) $6 for 1 scoop, kinda pricey! I got the Pistachio flavour and it was kind of a let down. I was expecting it to be fully pistachio but it had citrus bits in it and it threw the flavour off. Service was alright, server allowed me to taste the different flavours. Ambiance was nice since it is located within another restaurant. You can see the counter when you first enter the location.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried the boozy tiramisu in their sugar cone this time! Creamy with a hint of alcohol but not strong enough for my liking. $8 for a cone and one scoop is on the pricier side.

Yelp
The flavors are innovative and so delicious, great chai latte too. The owner was so kind and the place had a great vibe. Would 100% recommend.

Yelp
I walked past this gelato shop while I was in the neighborhood and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very cool and trendy gelato shop with many interesting flavour combinations. I am a big fan of Chef Nuit, so when I saw the sign for coconut pandan flavour, I had to try it and it was just as good as it sounds! Highly recommend this shop.

Yelp
The browned butter cinnamon soft serve was just amazing. It's one of the best ice creams I've ever eaten, and I'm a big boy who grew up in Wisconsin, the dairy state, home of frozen custard that makes most Canadian soft serve seem like imitation ice milk garbage. The browned butter flavor was toasty and complex, almost like brown sugar, buttery, but not a hint of greasiness. Not too much cinnamon, and a nice saltiness, too. Really ace.

Yelp
Coconut vanilla was mainly coconut - and very rich & creamy, with a slight gumminess (since it's vegan). The vanilla was quite subtle. There was just a touch of coconut strips - enough to make the texture interesting, but not enough to annoy the palate and spoil the overall creamy texture. They still do sampling during covid (yay!) Nutella cookie had a higher cocoa than expected. Water buffalo milk, honey & dates was rich but mild tasting (the honey and dates were definitely to accentuate the water buffalo milk). Smoked hay honey was interesting; was reminded of chocolate (probably the smoked honey) but could also smell the hay.

Yelp
When I found out they were going to deliver to the suburbs during the pandemic I had to order some for the family. I'm really glad they are offering this service to their customers because a lot of people who used to work downtown would stay back to dine and wine after work. This is a great way to connect with customers who are now working from home in the 905. I ended up getting two flavours. Mexican Spiced Chocolate and Mango Coconut Lime Leaf. The spiced chocolate is not something I expected at all! There is a good kick to it and a great after taste of cinnamon that really takes it to the next level! Spicy ice cream. Now that's a concept! The Mango Coconut Lime Leaf on first bite tasted like I was slurping on green Thai curry! The coconut milk makes the gelato thicker than normal, almost like a soft pudding. It's great to pair it up with some fruits like strawberries or blueberries. Follow them on instagram to see when and where they are delivering to the suburbs. It's worth it!

Yelp
I gotta come back to try the interesting flavours! They only had basic flavours like raspberry margarita when I went... really friendly people! I'd come back to try pad thai or vinegar flavoured gelato haha. Nice earthy decor with rustic wood tables, white metal chairs and open windows in the summer.

Yelp
Location/Service - Along Queen street (east of Bathurst, west of Spadina), accessible by TTC and car; street parking available and I believe near the side streets as well - When I went, they're going renovations and the gelato bar is only open; but once they're complete with renos, it will be all vegan gelato with better furniture and interior - Staff were friendly and nice; you can taste all the flavors before making your selection (which helps a lot!) Food - Decided to go with the Pistachio Baklava Yogurt - Anything pistachio is always a must try in my opinion; and this doesn't disappoint - they use real pistachio (i.e. you can actually taste the nuts) and it's more yellow-ish in colour (green ones are artifical) - The gelato was very smooth and on sweeter end since it's baklava, but it blended well together with the pistachio; really enjoyed this combo - Also sampled the raspberry tandori, which is sour and has a good spicy kick at the end (might not be everyone's favourite); cold brew vegan, basically is strong dark coffee, bitter but refreshing One scoop in a cup was around $5, which is pretty reasonable. I'll definitely swing by and come back to try their different flavors - like their creativity like Carrot Yuzu, Black Garlic Fennel, Blueberry Lavender Lemonade

Yelp
Had Death in Venice Gelato bookmarked for a while after hearing about all the pallet interest, yet unthinkable gelato flavours. Decided to walk in and see what was on the menu this week. They had a new Pumpkin Stout Vanilla Caramel flavour which we opted to try. Had a light creamy pumpkin flavour to it, which was surprisingly tasty when mixed with a sweet fruity flavour in the Peach Champagne. Loved the Boozy Tiramisu flavour. The Pistachio Yoghurt & Baklava flavour I felt could have had a stronger Pistachio taste. After reading some of the reviews, I'll definitely be trying the Lemon Ricotta Rosemary flavour along with the next featured flavour that'll give you that "I can't believe that's a flavour, yet I want to try it" feeling.

Yelp
After my first visit, this place easily became my favorite gelato place. I got so curious to sample their unique flavour gelatos and felt like I was at creative, exotic flavour gelato paradise!! Had one single scoop of Quince & Champagnes and another scoop of Vanilla, Saffron & Ginger. Both of them were packed with their own flavours and had very rich and smooth texture for my liking. Definitely will go back to try more!!

Yelp
5 Star for super friendly service. The girl at the counter is just so nice and full of energy. Must be all the Turkish Coffee and Gelato. I love the selection of drinks and food at Death in Venice Gelato. There is more than gelato offers here. Espresso based Coffee and Pluck Tea if you want something to warm you up during the colder months. There are for sure some unique and funky gelato flavours here. Ask for a sample or 2 or everything! Check out daily specials on drinks. Those pantries does looks great, especially the pandan chiffon cake and some middle eastern inspired baked goods! This cafe definitely worth checking out when you are in the area!

Yelp
I had the smoked burbon chocolate scoop in a cup. I love the Smokey flavour. They have a range of unique flavour pairings. I enjoyed sampling the raspberry margarita as well. They also have coffee and dessert here!

Yelp
5 stars and I've only tried the gelato once. I like their style. Propeller coffee, openable front window and spacious interior with a wacky front entrance where you can do a catwalk into the place without even entering, neat! The menu looked good for brunch and they have some cute little booths along the back opposite the windowed kitchen in the rear and opposite the gelato counter. Why go to Starbucks when you can get your caffeine fix at this cool spot just a few doors down? They have an awesome staff with some talented cooks in the back whipping up some creative gelato. The newest thing is a partnership with Pizza Thick from the east end. Last time I was there the pizza was being whipped up and sounded impressive. And this is what Alex park needs! More pizza. Sure we have Maker pizza now, but they don't do slices. Why? Who knows, but DVG can help, and there's no doubt there.

Yelp
After seeing the positive reviews I decided to come here for brunch and of course check out their gelato! Located on Queen W, this place looks smaller from the outside. There is decent enough seating inside so you don't feel crowded. The brunch menu is pretty simple - a few egg dishes, a special (it was chicken stew the day I went). My friend had the East meets West egg dish. It's braised lamb, eggplants, herbs with eggs any way you like it. All the egg dishes come with bread and jams/ricotta spread. I'm not a big fan of eggs but wow this dish was flavorful from the lamb and herbs they used - melt in your mouth delicious- my friend wiped her plate clean. The ingredients all blended in beautiful to create a hearty dish. I decided to go with their special that day - chicken stew with fennel. It comes with rice and bread. It was yummolicious! The perfect stick to your ribs stew on a cold day. It reminded me of almost a Moroccan stew. The nice touch was the hint of fennel - gave it some depth of flavor without being over powering. So of course after brunch we had to try their gelato! They let you sample their unique flavors as much as you want. The day we were there they had such flavors as grilled cheese, Mexican chocolate, strawberry/Thai basil/juniper; pad Thai and fish sauce (was surprisingly good with a nice kick at the end, no fishy taste at all !), blackberry/cocoa (I had this one and it was a nice fresh palate cleanser) and several other interesting flavors. I believe the selection changes every once in awhile and you can buy pints at their location to indulge at home. I'll definitely be back for another brunch here! 2 scoops of excellence!

Yelp
This place has really interesting gelato flavours. For example, when we went they had carrot chili yuzu, blackberry mint balsamic, and raspberry and margarita, to name a few. We tried those last two and they were quite good. I started off preferring the raspberry and margarita but the blackberry mint balsamic grew on me the more I ate. Both flavours were so well balanced and I wish I had more room to try more flavours. I'll just have to visit again soon. Their famous ricotta lemon rosemary wasn't on offer when we went, which was disappointing. Hopefully they're just rotating flavours and it'll be back sometime. They also serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and they currently have bags of dumplings for you to cook at home for $15. The service is friendly and there is ample space to sit and chat or work. I'll be coming back.

Yelp
Great comfortable cafe on Queen West! Was really impressed with the originality and range of flavours they have for gelato. I had a double scoop of White truffle maple sage; and Cinnamon bun - and both were nice. Do check out their freezer at the corner to see their most popular flavours that are available as pints to take home! Given all their creative combinations, it might be a hit or miss - don't be shy to ask for a sample! Really like the fact that you can get decent Turkish coffee here too - comes with a Turkish delight (as it should) Overall, a fan of this place and will definitely be back for more gelato!

Brian N.

Yelp
Excellent gelato and nice customer service on Dundas Street but... $23 for 2 single scoop cones? A soft serve cone was $8.50 PLUS $3.00 for the cone itself and a single scoop of gelato was $5.00 PLUS $3.00 for the cone and with tax comes to around $23.00 for 2 single scoop cones!!! WTF? Firstly, the prices on your menu are inaccurate and the server said that she has been telling her manager to update for months. I think this might be illegal and am going to file a complaint with the city. This is ridiculous and will NEVER go back. What a SCAM! Beware.
google avatar

Teresa Y.

Yelp
Three words. Really good gelato. Try all their flavours. Dark but comfortable cafe selling a variety of baked pastries along with coffee. Although two scoops is expensive at 9-10 dollars, you do get a huge amount. Yum.
google avatar

Caitlin J.

Yelp
This is by far the best and most unique gelato I have ever had. The four flavours I tried were corn on the cob, olive oil and sea salt, cheeseboard & pistachio baklava. The gelato it self was so smooth and dense yet light at the same time. Each flavour was amazing but the corn on the cob was the stand out for me. They drizzle olive oil and sprinkle sea salt on top. The flavours just went so well together. I loved it so much I bought a pint!

Yelp
Staff was very friendly. Flat white VERY GOOD. washroom available, nice perk! Good spot to work, spend a little time...

Yelp
I must have stumbled in for gelato during a week of weird selections. I am adventurous with my food and flavors, and often enjoy the wilder gelato offering but nothing was a hit during my visit. I had 3-4 different taste tests but was disappointed with each flavor. The weirdest had to be the beetroot one (which was a beautiful dark red color) but tasted too savoury for my liking. I didn't end up picking anything and shared a peanut butter croissant scoop with my partner. The space is beautiful though, plenty of comfortable seating and space to enjoy a coffee or your gelato choice. Disappointed but will still pop in the next time to glance at the gelato offerings, maybe a new flavor experiment will change my opinion!

Yelp
decided to check out this place after reading positive reviews. came here with the intention to sample and buy as much ice cream flavours as possible a nice place to grab a quick bite or just to enjoy coffee while doing some light work i went on a friday so i had their daily drink special which happened to be londond fog aka my favourite latte. it was really affordable - 3$ for a large cup. it was waterdown like most places. i also tried their almond croissant cuz that's my favourite bakery item. tbh, i've had better croissants. this one was firm/crunchy and the almond flavour was lost on me the reason i'm giving this place a 4 star is because of their unique and delicious ice cream flavours. i got 3 ice cream pints: cinnamon with toasted apples - mouth watering delicious! huge chunks of apples and the cinnamon flavours really pulled through. i honestly thought i was eating a homemade apple pie with authentic vanilla icecream with each spoon. has got to be my favourite of the 3 pistachio with baklava - didn't really taste the pistachio flavour but the crunchy pieces of baklava really dis it for me. it gave it a nice crunch and it made me feel like i was eating a Greek pastery strawberry thai mint - my least of all the 3 partly because it was gelato and because it tasted more like guava rather than strawberry with thai mint would definitely comr back to try other ice cream flavours

Yelp
This Dundas West gelatoria is dangerously close to my house. Death by consumption, indeed. Death in Venice is big, bright and airy. Truly full of stunning sights and smells. Their Gelato flavours are incredibly creative, but still at the heart of it, are delicious. No gimmicks, just creativity. Ricotta lemon rosemary is a favourite in my home, but if you've got kids you can't go wrong with their oft available nutella and cookies or peanut butter and croissant. Yes, again, those are gelato flavours.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
I remember when Death in Venice first arrived on the scene there was some hubbub about their use of insects in their gelato. I was a little wary of checking the place out as a result, and it was only a recent jaunt to the area that convinced me to finally stop in to try their wares. I didn't see any insects contained within any of their offerings, but I did spot something called Peanut Butter & Croissant. How could I not try an off-the-wall flavor like that? It's...interesting. The first half of this concoction was riddled with chunks of croissant and it was clear immediately that this is an idea that just doesn't work. The croissant adopts the texture of cardboard when mixed into gelato, it turns out, and do I need to explain that this wasn't super pleasant? Fortunately, the chunks of croissant ended about halfway through and I was left with just the peanut butter gelato, which is incredibly creamy and peanut buttery and, ultimately, delicious. I wish my small cup had contained just that, to be honest.
google avatar

Anni D.

Yelp
Yummy gelato! $5 per scoop is pricey but the service is friendly and there is plenty of seating. Don't be shy and do ask try all the different flavours.
google avatar

Jess M.

Yelp
Got the blackberry yogurt swirl and rhubarb hibiscus (?) on a waffle cone. I'm not sure if it's the consistency of the gelato that's throwing me off or what, but it's very creamy and super smooth. I've had similar consistencies but the ones at Death in Venice is just throwing me off. The flavours weren't bad but also nothing I would come back for. What was bad was the waffle cone which was soft and didn't have any flavour. Major disappointment. I got to try the pistachio baklava which I thought I was going to be getting for sure when I saw the name but it's very sweet. It's like a mountain of sugar and then you get a hint of pistachio baklava. I sampled maybe two other flavours but I can't even remember what they are anymore and I went just last week. None were very memorable. I don't see myself coming back but it's not bad, just fine. The staff were pretty nice though!
google avatar

Nada S.

Yelp
This has some of the coolest gelato flavours! Love it! Try the smoked bourbon chocolate if they have it!
google avatar

Janny L.

Yelp
My boyfriend suggested we come here for dessert, and I could not turn him down! The MOST unique flavours of gelato I have ever seen in my life. From "black garlic, fennel, and vanilla" to "lemon ricotta rosemary", the selection of flavours is unbelievable. All the flavours sounded funny, but we had a taste of a few of the combinations, and they were absolutely delicious. If you're not feeling gelato, there's other food and drink options you can choose from.
google avatar

Alexis W.

Yelp
Death in Venice is a dark coffee shop with a cafe area and a gelato section in the back area. When we went, there was maybe only one other person and as you approach the back of the store location where the gelato actually was, it felt like I was entering a storage room because that's how dark it was. We got a berry type gelato flavour and it was good, but small. Overall, this is a very different vibe from a typical gelato place and it almost seems like as if they do not prioritize it as a part of their sales as the server very reluctantly went to the gelato section. It made me feel unwelcome and was scared to try more of a flavours. When we went, it was also just empty which made the place feel more dead and cold. I'm sure the gelato tasted fine, nothing spectacular but the overall experience is not something I would recommend.
google avatar

Allison Y.

Yelp
With so many 5-starred reviews, I feel pressured to give DIV 5 stars, but I can't bring myself to do it. What is wrong with me? I guessed I was too hyped by some of the flavours listed on the blackboard, and I was gun-hold to order the Eggplant flavour, only to find out most of the flavours were not available. Out of the 10 flavours being served last Sunday (I sampled all), I liked 2 of them. My favourite was a Chocolate Pesto flavour that was not listed on the blackboard or the website. The pesto came through boldly. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Black Garlic Fennel Vanilla. I liked how rich the gelato was. It was a satisfying treat. I am sure there are other flavours that I would enjoy. Until next time.

Yelp
Great service and excellent gelato! Came here on a warm spring day, the owner was so sweet and offered me samples to try before choosing a flavour to purchase. The gelato is so smooth with the perfect sweetness level. Can't wait to come back again for more. Who doesn't love hazelnut and chocolate ?! Highly recommend. The decor inside is beautiful too !!
google avatar

Yelp
5 stars for unique gelato flavours! $ 5 per scoop, $8.50 for two, or $10 for a small tub. I think a tub is a suitable amount for 3-4 people and a much better deal! I had the double scoop- corn on a cob and kaffir, lime and yogurt. Corn on a cob is a buttery and creamy favour (contains real butter) while the other is more light and refreshing. It is definitely worth trying, especially if you're feeling experimental but I wouldn't come here often. I also saw some people getting some work done here, they have food, drinks and snacks as well. There is also free WiFi which is great!
google avatar

Yelp
Came into Death in Venice on a weekday afternoon around 3pm. Noticed it had a nice and chill space to grab a coffee and snack with a friend or even with a group of friends since space was pretty big. They also sell merchandise along the walls such as jarred items, crackers, coffee and tea items. They also have a chalk wall of food menu ranging from Pizza to greens, to protein bowls, to brunch items to sandwiches. They also have TiTo Rons remixed filipino desserts and steam box dumplings. What don't they have? I got the iced latte and one scoop of their masala tiramisu gelato. Iced latte was delicious enough not to have to add syrup which I always find I need to. The tiramisu gelati was was pretty good but not the best I've had, wouldve been better if there were pieces of soaked lady fingers of some sort cause I like the texture it just reminds me of the real thing. I will buy a bag of the steam box dumplings and write a review of that after I've tried it. I will definitely come back to try more I noticed a small menu for the empanadas ranging from $3 to $4.

Yelp
I now understand why their ricotta lemon Rosemary gelato won chopped Canada. It was so refreshing and tasty! I can't say I'm a ricotta fan and I typically prefer herbs on meats but this combination works and it works really well together. The texture is smooth and rich. If you prefer something lighter, the blueberry sage is vegan so lighter in texture. They give a generous scoop of gelato for $4 in a regular cone or cup or you can pay extra $0.25 for sugar cone, $0.50 for a waffle cone. I'll be back!

Yelp
Death In Venice Gelato now operates inside the space formerly known as Constantinople Bakery at 536 Queen Street West. Offering a variety of interesting, unique flavour combinations, chef Kaya Ogruce's Italian-style ice cream is quickly becoming a local favourite. Must-try items: Cantaloupe Mint White Wine Strawberry Thai Basil Juniper The atmosphere here has a the mood of a café, of course. Before deciding on what scoops you're going to buy, you can try a small sample of pretty much everything on the menu. Dairy-free and vegan options are also available. Some of the selections are sweeter, while others are infused with flavours you might not have imagined. Try your scoop in a cup, cone, or sandwich. Pints are also available here and at other local retailers.

Yelp
This place is known for its whacky and creative ice-cream flavors and it did keep upto expectations! The staff was friendly and helped us explain and recommend different flavors. We tried Mexican Chocolate Mole and Vanilla Saffron Ginger. The chocolate one was made with 7 spices including red pepper, chipotle and cinnamon. I typically like chocolate in any form but I would give it a pass next time. The saffron one was well blended with smooth saffron flavor and hint of ginger - my pick next time. Another flavor worth mentioning is Strawberry Basil which tasted refreshing. Too bad that we came here only desserts and not main course :)

Yelp
I came here based on reviews, & thinking It will be worth it to try a new place... 3 words... Flavour is horrible! Nothing has a strong flavour.. yes they have crazy unusual flavours.. but none of the flavours work!!! I trued the peanut butter with criossant chunks... didnt taste the peanut butter!!!!! Tried couple other flavours also... same... I wont be coming back ..thats for sure...

Yelp
The first time I walked past Death in Venice, their name and logo really caught my eye. The next day, one of my friends posted a picture of their gelato on IG and I knew I had to go check it out. I was really happy that there were some interesting vegan gelato options to choose from (most of the time it's either chocolate or vanilla). I went with a friend and we both got Sour Cherry & Saison Beer. We're both craft beer lovers and the prominent taste of saison beer paired with tangy sour cherry, blended into a velvety creamy gelato definitely delighted our palettes. I liked it so much that the next day I went again with my sister. She tried the Black Garlic Fennel Vanilla and the Sour Cherry & Saison Beer (because of my glowing recommendation). She described that in the beginning you get a nice flavour mix of fennel and vanilla, and then you finish with the perfect hint of garlic at the end. I also tried their soy cortado which was pretty good and had decently string espresso. Complete with a catapiller-ish latte art haha. Service is fantastic. Friendly, helpful and quick both times that I went. Will definitely visit again and tell all my friends to go too!

Yelp
Have I died and gone to heaven? Or Venice? Death in Venice is located inside Constantinople Bakery. This place has unique gelato. My classic-loving self was surprised to not see a plain vanilla on the menu. That's my favourite, what will I do?! Try new things I guess. I got a Mexican chocolate gelato. It had some savoury spiciness to it and tasted rich in chocolate. Loved it. I also sampled some others. One unique one was hay and goat's milk, and honey I think? (Or maybe it just tasted like honey) Very unique flavour and process--something about soaking hay in goat's milk for a long time. Uh huh, yeah, whatever, I thought while it was being explained to me, but then I tried it and it was delicious. I felt confused and weird at the same time but I'm into it. I paired my Mexican spicy chocolate gelato with an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie from Constantinople Bakery, in the style of an ice cream cookie sandwich. Very delicious. I made a huge mess of myself on the walk back to work--gelato in my hair, don't care! I came back another time to do some work. They have wifi, and serve coffee and tea. They make iced tea from brewed tea which is amazing! A rare find anywhere that isn't a specialty tea shop. They're open till 7 which is great for after-work meetings as Early Bird across the street closes early. Being open just one hour later than the rest is amazing. Don't change unless you stay open even later. Gelato, cookies, loose leaf iced tea--I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Yes, gelato. A thousand times yes. This place is larger than it looks from the front on Queens West, tucked away amidst bars, night clubs and trendy shops. This is a straightforward affair. 1) Go to counter. 2) Sample gelato. 3) Choose a portion/mode of conveyance. 4) Purchase and enjoy. Now, if you think you're going to 30-something flavors, you're mistaken. There are about ten. And if you think "vanilla" and "chocolate" are exotic, you've taken either a very wrong or very right turn. The flavors here are blended and inspired. She had the cherry-chocolate, which was a deep, dark, moody flavor without being too heavy. The cherry was the star, and it lingered on the palette like a fine wine. It's not often that chocolate plays the supporting role, but it worked very well. I had the coconut, mango and lime leaf. Delightful and refreshing. Complicated, but very pleasant - like one of those alcoholic beverages that tastes like anything but a device for distorting your memory. I didn't stop gnawing on it until the last flake of waffle cone was gone. Price was competitive. Staff was polite. Worth a stop if you're between meals or just had one - as we did.

Yelp
I am absolutely in love with this gelato! My favourite flavour is ricotta lemon rosemary. Somehow all those flavours work together so well creating a creamy light gelato, and obviously delicious! I have tried several other flavours which are to die for! Their gelato is made from organic and local ingredients and some choices are vegan (if you're into that)! A must try!

Yelp
Death in Venice Gelato has a great selection of unique flavours for you to try. The pairings go really well together and some are not what you would expect! If you love gelato and are interested in different flavours, it's definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I got the saffron ginger ice cream in a cup and cheese board together. It was amazing. I wanna try their other flavours as well like the olive or the peanut butter croissant or the wine flavoured ones. Tip: always ask the server for their recommendations, they'll give you an idea of the flavour profiles of the ice cream.

Yelp
This is the first year I've been mostly vegan and I was worried about whether I could find vegan gelato/ice cream. It turns out that I have nothing to worry about. Death in Venice has 5 different unique flavours of gelato that are dairy-free. And they are delicious too - you cannot tell they are vegan! I highly recommend Death in Venice.
