Debaines Hotel Santiago, an SLH Hotel

I loved this hotel and I highly recommend it! I stayed here a few nights in December 2025. It is a luxury hotel at a very reasonable price. The rooms and common areas were great and spotless clean. All of the hotel staff were friendly and professional. Nicholas especially was great. He gave me some good recommendations and helped me make some necessary arrangements. The hotel's location was perfect for me. It is only a couple of blocks from Cerro Santa Lucia and a metro rail station. It is only about a 15 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas and the Plaza de la Constitucion. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area as well as banks and currency exchanges. There is a restaurant on the first floor and a terrace on the top floor, which is a nice place to enjoy the evenings. The internet worked well and the air conditioner did too. I had no issues or complaints during my stay.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The rooms are very luxurious: tall ceilings, nice linens and fixtures, super fancy Japanese bidet. The shower gets hot and the pressure is awesome. The bed was firm and comfortable with multiple different types of pillows. Everyone working here was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and was one of the best we had in South America. It was so fun to get to stay at such a lux place for such a reasonable price! Cannot recommend enough.

Absolutely amazing stay! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The design, the staff, the atmosphere were incredibly welcoming. I enjoyed a super relaxing stay. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities you could ask for. The highlight was the Japanese toilet :) . The location is perfect—convenient, and in the middle of the heart of the center. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and outstanding service. The stay met overall my expectations very well. The design is very tasteful, the staff professional and welcoming. Combined with the atmosphere I enjoyed a very calm, comfortable, and relaxing stay! |The room was above standard clean, spacious, and well maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The Japanese toilet was my personal highlight and added extra comfort.|The location is excellent—central and convenient for getting around the city.|I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for comfort, quality, and reliable service. A wonderful sanctuary in the heart of the city. Made exploring Santiago super easy - pop into the hotel throughout the day for a break. |From check in to check out this was a fabulous stay experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming, helpful and attentive. The room was ample sized, big fluffy towels, robes and slippers. The bed was super comfortable with ample pillows. Shower had pressure and hot - temperature regulation had a mind of its own but once used to this it was fine. Only downside - no kettle in room for a morning / evening cup of tea. Would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Santiago.

Debaines Hotel is absolutely beautiful, and our stay began on a very strong note. From the moment we arrived, we received warm, attentive reception and support from the front desk—especially Julieta, who was truly wonderful throughout our stay. Our room was lovely, with an excellent bed and a fantastic shower. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also a highlight: the panzanella salad and vegan burger were both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. That said, there were several issues that felt inconsistent with a five-star experience: • Vegan breakfast options were extremely limited. Breakfast only offered an avocado toast for vegans, and even that was available only if you asked. • Housekeeping entered our room unannounced twice, both times around 8:30 a.m.—once while my partner was in the shower and once while we were still in bed. • An iron and ironing board are not standard in the room, and when we requested one (noting that we were in a rush), it took over 30 minutes to arrive. • During that same interaction, we reported that the air conditioning was not working. The room was 38°C when we arrived. Instead of an engineer, a front desk staff member came up, set the AC to 5°C, and said that should help. Despite running continuously for nearly 16 hours, the room never cooled below 22°C. • To make matters worse, while we were out the next day, housekeeping turned off the AC and opened the shades, and we returned to a room that was 35°C. • Finally, we booked a couples massage, and when we arrived, the head support on the massage table was visibly dirty, with stains and hair from previous guests—something that should never happen at any spa, let alone a luxury hotel. At checkout, we shared these concerns with Julieta, who handled the situation professionally by providing management contact information and removing our dinner charge, which we appreciated. Overall, would I stay here again? Yes—the hotel is beautiful, and the staff, especially Julieta, genuinely care. However, I hope management addresses these operational and cleanliness issues so the experience consistently matches the five-star standard the hotel is clearly aiming for.

After a neighboring hotel canceled on us with less than a days notice, we were able to book our stay at Debaines. I’ll say, it was a blessing in disguise that the other hotel had “booking issues”. This was the last stop on our honey moon and Debaines made it such a wonderful end to our trip. They were very accommodating, welcomed us with a delicious fruit platter to celebrate and even gave us a complimentary late checkout until 18:00, as we had a late flight. Overall great stay, great rooms, AMAZING staff. So happy we ended up staying here :)

One of the most impressive experiences with Debaines. My flight landed early in the morning. The room was ready within less than an hour of my arrival. Great service, very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend if you visit santiago.
