World's Scariest Bridges

"If the drive over this foggy strait in the Puget Sound isn't particularly scary to you, try walking over the narrow pedestrian lane at the edge of the bridge. That's where you'll find especially hair-raising views of the rushing water directly below." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Beautiful and scenic ocean cliff view with convenient parking, public restrooms, and hiking trails with stairs down to the beach. Gateway to Whidbey Island across this picturesque and iconic Deception Pass bridge. Offering spectacular views, pedestrian walkways across the bridge, hiking trails to the beach below, lookout parking on both sides, and clean public restrooms on the south side.

Beautiful view of the water on this bridge and the small “island” on the other side! Went here with a friend and paid $10.00 to enjoy the view of the bridge and walk through the beach side. At first I thought it was a little weird that we’re paying for a view, but this place also allows visitors to camp here, so I guess that makes sense. The beach side has many hiking trails, and amphitheater and spaces to soak up the sun! The bridge was a little scary at first because you are literally next to cars driving by. As they drive by, you shake a little which is kind of scary lol. Highly recommend taking a trip here! Parking: multiple areas Bathroom: yes

Quite the famous bridge. It's been in several movies. To be honest, I do not enjoy walking across it as on one side there is a deadly drop and on the other cars going by in what I would consider to close for comfort. It is a destination that is a must-see if you are in the area. In the middle of the 2 bridges that make up deception pass bridge is an island that has limited parking. I recommend you park there if you don't feel like crossing the bridge on foot. From there, you can explore that island via several paths that go all the way around the circumference. It is a steep hike, and I recommend you be in decent shape to do so and wear appropriate footwear as it is through a wooded area, no flip-flops. It can take probably around an hour or more to hike depending on how often you stop to rest or take in the absolutely beautiful scenery which I highly recommend you do. Take some water and maybe pack a picnic to have on the lower edges of the island close to the water for an extra nice experience. Which would make for a nice date if your partner enjoys a hike. This goes without saying but absolutely Do Not go for a swim as the currents there are treacherous, cold and deadly.

It's a very high two lane bridge; several pull offs where you can park for free. And one parking lot that requires a Discovery pass - public (dirty) restrooms are nearby. You can walk across the bridge on both sides. It's a bit of a thrill with cars rushing by and, if afraid of heights then I wouldn't suggest doing so. But what panoramic view with great picture taking spots. The color of the water and view is amazing. I saw numerous large seals and an eagle. While looking downward - you will see currents swirling around, cliffs, forests, and awesome scenery all around. There are several trails and I took one under the bridge. Very worth the trip and a must see, it's a beautiful and fun experience.

Beautiful especially at sunset. Has restrooms at the parking spot. Walking across the bridge is kinda scary with cars zooming past but it is definitely worth doing.

Paddling plane in the in the lake, you name it deception. Pass state. Park has everything for family. Single people, couples and kids. Just a wonderful place.

A historical bridge one shouldn't miss to visit. There are two parts of the bridges, there's ample parking space and a good spot for photo taking. Then you can experience a walk on the bridge or cross under the bridge. Nice place for nature lovers. Amazing nature.
