Dechenling Garden Restaurant in Kathmandu is an absolute gem — a peaceful oasis tucked away from the city’s hustle and bustle. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by a lush, green garden that feels calm, refreshing, and full of character. The ambience is simply amazing — stylish yet cozy, perfect for both relaxed lunches and peaceful evening dinners. It’s one of those rare spots in the city where you can truly unwind while enjoying delicious food surrounded by nature. The restaurant offers a wonderful selection of authentic Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepali cuisine, each dish carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The flavors are rich, balanced, and genuinely satisfying — you can taste the freshness and the quality in every bite. From traditional momos to flavorful curries and other regional specialties, everything on the menu is spot-on and made with love. The food here is not just delicious but also a reflection of the Himalayan culinary tradition at its best. The staff are equally delightful — attentive, kind, and always ready with a warm smile. Their hospitality really adds to the overall experience, making you feel welcome and cared for throughout your visit. Whether you’re a local looking for a quiet escape or a traveler exploring Kathmandu’s culinary side, Dechenling Garden is a must-visit. With its beautiful garden setting, excellent service, and authentic flavors, it’s one of the city’s most charming places to dine. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful meal with great taste and a beautiful vibe!

This Tibetan restaurant is a true gem for anyone who loves rich flavors and warm hospitality. Every dish feels like a trip through the Himalayas, full of comfort and tradition. From the first bite, you can tell the food is made with care and skill. The Chicken and Pork Momos are the stars—soft, thin doughs packed with juicy fillings. The chicken version is light and fragrant, while the pork one bursts with rich, savory flavor. The Lollipop Chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside, a fun and tasty starter. The Hot Sour Soup wakes up your taste buds with its tangy, spicy broth that feels both soothing and refreshing. The Hot Garlic Potatoes are an instant favorite—crispy, spicy, and full of bold garlic aroma. The Shabrel Meatballs stand out for their tenderness and deep, home-style flavor, showing the chef’s mastery of Tibetan cooking. The Chicken Fried Rice is simple but perfect—each grain flavorful and balanced with vegetables and meat. Finally, the Maychentse noodles are pure comfort in a bowl, with chewy flat noodles and a heartwarming broth. Every dish here is cooked with love and passion. The flavors are bold but balanced, the portions generous, and the atmosphere cozy. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, this restaurant makes every meal feel special.

Such a lovely spot in Kathmandu with delicious Nepalese food and a really stylish vibe. The garden is amazing, green, quiet, and super chill, a perfect escape from the busy streets. The dishes felt fresh and full of flavor. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to and spend more time.

Our server might have just been having a rough day, or maybe he naturally has a RBF. Either way, he didn’t smile once the entire time. That aside, their stir fried paneer is one of the best I have had in town. Great atmosphere and a solid spot overall!

Tucked away in Thamel’s narrow lanes, Dechenling Garden Restaurant offers a tranquil courtyard setting right in the heart of the bustling tourist district. The leafy garden, gentle background sounds of water, and peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect escape from the crowds . The food is flavorful and authentic—specialties like buff momo, thali sets, and Kothay (spinach-cheese) momo are standout dishes. Their Tingmo with hearty thenthuk noodles and Erma Datsi with red rice are always recommended

We had a memorable special day celebration at Dechenling. It's a garden-themed restaurant situated at the heart of Thamel, yet secluded. A glass of fine shiraz, juicy momo and the best of all, bodell or wild boar. It's worth all the reviews! Shall visit again for sure.

A very good restaurant to taste local food in Kathmandu, the place is a beautiful garden away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel but very close! The food is great, the oriental platter is a must try. I celebrated my last night in Nepal and had a very nice talk with the manager. Very much recommended!
