We stopped by Deckchair Café after whale watching in Augusta and it was the perfect spot to wind down. We ordered the fish and chips, fish tacos, and kids’ nuggets with chips — everything was delicious! The fish was fried beautifully, crisp on the outside and tender inside. Chips were really well done too — golden and tasty. The café itself is simple, cosy, and in a great location. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. Service was excellent — the staff were warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend for a relaxed, satisfying meal in Augusta!

This is a simple and casual cafe along Blackwood in the town centre of Augusta. They have a fair sized indoor seating area as well as outside tables. Opening hours are 7.30am to 3pm daily. Traditional Aussie cafe menu. We ordered the Snapper fish-and-chips and an additional grilled snapper. Portion sizes were fair, prices reasonable, everything was packaged nicely for take-away. Lemon slice provided, no tomato sauce for the chips nor vinegar. Didn't matter much, the fish was fried nicely, good crunch and it tasted very good. As did the grilled fish, nice flavour. Chips just fine. Would return and order again from Deckchair if we were to find ourselves in Augusta again.

We ordered a date scone, sausage roll and two coffees. 11am Wednesday morning but the food was not fresh. The sausage roll would have been great if fresh. There was a nice home made sauce with it. The Mocha was luke warm, the only way to ruin a Mocha. Maybe because they tried to give it to the wrong table. The service was cheerful but not cheap. Not the best way to spend $31.🫰

Really warm, friendly and good humoured service. Delicious eggs benny - we went back a couple of times for breakfast or lunch during our stay in a nearby town.

Tried out this cosy little Cafe on Augusta's main street, the staff were really friendly and helpful, we had a nice view out the window looking at the world go by. We enjoyed our coffee and scones and the following day we had a shared beef pie, chips and salad. They have a reasonable varied menu to cater for most tastes. I can highly recommend a visit whilst I'm Augusta even if it's only for a quick coffee and snack. Give it a try.

The Deckchair provided breakfast and packed lunch for us as part of a Cape to Cape walk booking with another company. The service was quick and the meals were delicious. They had just moved premises and had a few teething problems, but still provided a cheerful and efficient service. Thank you!

Super disappointed by both the food and the horrible service. My husband and I were the only customers there yet had to wait 15 minutes for our food rather easy to fix to be ready. I had a salmon bagel that just needed to be toasted....it was served burnt. Not an apology nor a commercial gesture such as a free coffee for the inconvenience. The waitress looked uncomfortable but served the burnt bagel anyway without saying a word. I didn't mention anything as I was out of words but I'm surely sharing my very bad experience now. Would never ever go back there and never recommend anyone to stop to Deckchair for food. Keep on driving and find a better spot. FYI, both sides of the bagel were burnt as per pictures 😑 Oh and yes! The lady decided it was time to take the rubbish out through the place while we were eating.... No customer service sense at all...

Stopped here for a light lunch. Big mistake. Fish burger and chips was huge and loaded with salad and 2 pieces of battered fish. Fresh delightfully crisp chips. Perfect coffees as well. Staff were attentive , polite and fun. Recommended!

Yelp
Good gravy, this place is one expensive coffee shop and deli! Why?? I suspect because it is located on the main drag and they are overpriced ...because they can. Husband just wanted to stop for a takeout coffee and snack.. and then we saw the food menu prices and said nah. Even the takeout coffee was ridiculous and not that great. The woman at the counter was a bit weird and pushy. No we do NOT want food, no thanks. I'll give an example, two poached or scrambled eggs and a piece of toast for a whopping $13.50! Add bacon, and it's $18.50!! What? Or how about a small piece of smoked salmon on top of spinach, with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce? and a piece of sourdough? $21.50! Come on, that's just greedy. Everything on their breakfast menu is around $15-18. Average decor, metal seating indoors. We won't be back, just not impressed.

Yelp
We called in after visiting the nearby Jewel Caves for a quick coffee and a sweet treat. The coffee was well crafted with good flavour. The cheesecake was cookies and cream today which was ok. The staff were friendly.

Yelp
Over priced, $40 for two meals, a burger with chips (no sauce) and a chicken wrap. The burger was missing ingredients that was suppose to be included which they didn't say anything about. Rude service by the lady at front counter. Will not return.
