Superb showcase featuring Michael Atkinson 'Modern Day Castaway'. You can buy drinks and food and I believe the food options changes weekly based on who is catering. Roughly $8-12 for a meal, bottle of wine was $30.

I love this place. I’ve seen some great movies here that I wouldn’t normally get to see and the atmosphere and setting is brilliant. It’s my go to wind down place 🤗

Fabulous spot with meals and drinks. The chairs are not overly comfortable but there are plenty of cushions. Very chilled vibe. It did get quite busy on a Thursday so always good to get there early and grab a meal. You can pick up a free book to take away if you’re after some holiday reading.

Fun! We watched a documentary on the making of Crocodile Dundee which seemed fitting for the Top End. Would love to see a full length movie here. The sun set just before the movie which was lovely.

I have found heaven — a place with a soul and a little grandma magic. As you walk in, a pile of cushions greets you. These you’ll place on your deckchair to reserve your spot. Then you’ll see the library/DVD collection, free for anyone to borrow from. You can even donate your own. They also serve dinner — every night a different catering company serves up delicious meals at an affordable price. I always love the surprise of the night. What will it be this time? The snack bar offers local goodies in abundance and… of course, beer and wine! Need I say more? Oh, but it doesn’t end there. I haven’t even mentioned the arthouse or international film selections. The little touches — small tables for belongings, beanbags, natural bug repellent — warm the heart. My favourite moment, right before the movie starts, is eating my delicious Crazy Acres ice cream, with a full belly from dinner, the gorgeous sunset as a backdrop, and bats flying up above. The nature and foliage around the place are simply magical. This is such a beautiful venue. It is pure art and soul. P.S. The little geckos on the screen add that extra magic and charm, plus… cute!

Yelp
An outdoor theater under the stars and right by the beach?? I couldn't have been happier to have discovered this place! We caught "Men Who Stare at Goats" here (they show mixes of mainstream + a independent flicks) and really enjoyed ourselves. The deckchairs aren't the most supportive, but they do make you lean back & take in everything around you- from the stars, to the sun setting over the beach, to the big projector screen- it facilitates all that. They have beer & wine available in the back and allow you to bring in your own picnic dinner if you so choose (but you'll be eating it in your lap of course). Tickets run at $15 each, which definitely seems reasonable. I'd highly suggest squeezing this in, even if you're a tourist since it's not everyday you can do something like this!

Yelp
A outdoor movie theatre, i could not have be more happy. One tip I do have is, pre-purchase your tickets online so you are not waiting in the long line and so you can get a decent seat. Food and Beverages for sale on sight. I watched; Drift. A surfing movie, great movie!

Yelp
As a Darwin local, this is my favourite place in Darwin. Great art house movies with incredible ambiance in easy walking distance from the city centre. There is a bar and a food stall with dinner available each night, but the food can sell out, and it's a bit hit and miss in terms of quality. There are cushions available but for maximum comfort BYO pillow as well. Buy tickets online to avoid a queue.
