Management, please invest in strong, stable WiFi! Everything and everyone else is excellent, and I couldn't for anything more.
I have no complaints about the rooms, service, or location--all are excellent! Exactly what you'd hope for and more. The hotel is a historic nobleman's house, and the aesthetic and atmosphere are lovely. The service is also some of the best I've ever experienced. The employees are so friendly and truly want to help you out!
I don't want to write this review, but I figured that it might helpful for other students or working professionals to know. If you're working, interviewing for jobs, or making calls while traveling, the WiFi can be terrible. I understand older buildings have their limits (and this isn't the staff's fault at all but likely management's), but in this day and age, good stable WiFi is tablestakes and expected in a hotel. The WiFi is strong--if it works.
Depending on where you're using the internet in the hotel, it can take up to 10 minutes to be connected to the WiFi or even 10 minutes for the login page to show up, which is more of a problem for laptops. After you go through the unnecessarily laborious process of registering, logging in, and getting connected, the WiFi will randomly disconnect, and you have to repeat this process. This is a known issue amongst the staff.
The staff were very empathetic and tried to help out as best as they could. They suggested going elsewhere in the hotel and even lent me a multi-pronged charging device without me asking, so I could plug in 3 devices in 1 outlet. Apparently, the WiFi is stable and strong in the meeting/conference room on the 3F (in the wing across from breakfast), and guests have worked and interviewed there. However, there's 1 outlet, it's not private, people can walk in and out, and you're next to 2 hallways with rooms. The halls in the building echo, so I'm not sure if it's the best working place anyway.
Being able to stay in our rooms to work and make calls using a 4-star hotel's WiFi should be expected. Instead, for an important job interview, I had to shell out more cash to buy more data on my phone, so I could hotspot my laptop. The hotspot signal from my Saily eSIM card was pretty consistent for ~10 hours, but you have to keep an eye on it. Airalo is another good eSIM option in connectivity and price.
Also, for calls, keep in mind that sound echoes through the hallways and floors. (That's why the hotel provides ear plugs.) I stayed on the 2F and could hear noise from the 1F and when people were talking or moving around in the hallways. It woke me up a few times. There are also limited outlets in guests' rooms, so move and check behind the dresser. I found 2 that way.
Tip for computer users: The registration/login page may not automatically pop up when you try connecting, so enter 1.1.1.1 in the URL bar, and the page may show up.
Hope this helps others!
