Deer Park Café, Cape Town Deer Park Café is an absolute gem tucked into the natural beauty of Cape Town. The setting alone makes it special—surrounded by greenery, fresh mountain air, and a calm, relaxed atmosphere that instantly slows you down. The food is fresh, wholesome, and thoughtfully prepared, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or lunch after a walk or hike. Coffee is excellent, and everything feels simple in the best possible way—honest flavours, generous portions, and consistently good quality. What really stands out is the vibe: laid-back, friendly, and welcoming. It’s a place where families, hikers, locals, and visitors all seem to blend effortlessly, giving it a warm community feel. Whether you’re stopping by after a trail, meeting friends, or just looking for a peaceful escape from the city, Deer Park Café delivers every time. A true Cape Town favourite.

Enjoyed a trip recently to the Deer Park cafe on a recommendation. Is nicely located in the foot hills of table mountain. Menu was a bit limited, but the quality of what they had was great! I really enjoyed one kf the specials on that day, the green chicken enchilada, was beautiful. A big enclosed park next door makes this a really child friendly option.

I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my friend had the Egg Croissant. Unluckily, our order was missed and we had quite a long wait, though the staff did compensate with a free decaf cappuccino which was appreciated. When the food arrived, it was really delicious – the Eggs Benedict in particular was great. Only downside was the sourdough bread being a bit too hard. The café itself is very well maintained with a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, a good experience with some room for improvement.

Great atmosphere, lovely service and delicious pasta and food for kids! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed, casual dining experience with kids as the park is right in front of the cafe so you can watch them as you munch! Especially great for when the sun is out as you’re surrounded by nature. The food portions are generous as well so you get value for money!

The Cafe is situated in a great place with stunning views outside. Food and service was good although a bit slow at times on father's day possibly due to the amount of people in and out. So can be quiet busy at times although the nice thing was that we could make a reservation. Great place if you have kids as the play park is a good place to run off the food after with the kids.

Good atmosphere and vibe, friendly staff and they're fortunate to be right next to the park. It's a nice place. But their food is very pricey. The worst part to me is that they charge extra for vegan cheese, however, the price isn't stated on the menu. (I was told it was over R40 to swap for vegan cheese, this puts an already pricey pizza completely over the top.) I expect more vegan options from a cafe in Cape Town, but more so if you have an additional charge on swapping ingredients, this needs to be clearly stated on the menu. Don't make your customer ask for the price while ordering, or worse, surprise them with a hefty bill at the end.

Firstly, I would like to thank Timothy for the great service with a broad smile. Plus, all the other staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Timothy had recommended the Lamb curry, which a number of other guests were enjoining. But I felt for another favourite of mine, and I was definitely not disappointed! The Butternut, Sage & Ricotta Lasagne, with side salad, had my taste buds begging for more. Secondly, can we please mention the beautiful setting. I love dining when I feel like I am immersed in nature. Plus, it's a great place for the folks and kids! Ps. Rumour has it that the hot chocolate is a decadent nutty chocolate delight.
